D-rank
Dax walked through the streets of Konoha with great amusement on his face. His smile reached from cheek to cheek. What was the reason for this grand smile? He was on his first mission! What better way to start off a mission with a smile and not to mention working with his own clan. He was so excited when he saw on a board asking for someone to help walk dogs! Not to mention that it was a Inuzuka that was asking for help. Maybe this would be a good way to make the whole clan like him. Of course he would have to start off with this genin ranked kid, but everything should move smoothly.

Dax walked down the street and made his way towards the rolling hills. He could feel the cool breeze coming in from the hills. The grass seemed to move and dance in a rippled affect almost like he dropped a stone into the water. Dax's eyes widened and his jaw dropped from the excitement. He couldnt believe he had never been to a place like this before! Dax took a couple of steps forward and took a deep breath from the wind. He needed to find this Kota kid. Luckily for him the kid left his scent all over the mission papers. Dax ruffled the paper out of his pocket and held it in front of his face. There the boys scent wafted in the air and into Dax's nose. Dax looked around to try to pick up the smell. He hoped the boy was in the direction of the winds so that the smell would blow right to him. There Dax received it. The smell hit his nose instantly and luckily the boy was close.

Dax ran off in the direction of the smell with his companion, Fubuki, bouncing happily at his heels. Dax ran up one of the hills and there at the top was a boy. Dax observed him quietly for a moment before approaching. This boy was nothing special at all. He looked like you average teenager who of course was older than him. He had a lanky and feral appearing, with the clan's fang marks proudly adorning his face. Nothing special clothing wise, simple tunic and pants, as it is his day off, which is stated on the papers, and he doesn't need to wear his uniform. This kid was nothing special at all. Boring...Dax knew this was going to be a long time. Still Dax had this as his first mission and he did not want to let his Sensei down! Dax ran up to the boy and used his usual energy. "Hiyo! I am Dax" Dax said with a giggle. "I am here to take on your mission!" Dax said spinning around on his foot.

"So they finally sent someone to he--", Kota had looked up mid-sentence to see who exactly he'd been about to catch an attitude with. He closed his mouth. Slowly he let own a grin. "Ohhh..." He said with a sly look in his eye. He bent down low to look Dax in the eyes. "I was told about you..." He said poking Dax in the chest. He turned around and then sat down on the grass. "Of course they would send a younger ninja for this job...but I am surprised that they sent you..." He gave Dax a condescending look. "Outsiders normally arent supposed to work with the dogs.." He shrugged. "None of the less...you were sent so lets get to work shall we..?" He got up and put his hands in his pockets and walked off down towards the playing dogs below.

Dax looked at the boy in a confused way. He knew that he was an outsider an he had experienced how he was view by the people of the local clan, but still nothing seemed to be this bad. This boy had a serious problem. Dax didnt want it to let him down though because this was a mission. A mission he had to complete. Dax ran down to stand next to Kota and how him his brightest smile. He was returned with a sideways smile. It was progress but at least the boy was not so mean as the rest of the clan. Dax looked in front of him and stared with an awe expression. Look at all of those dogs that were running around playing. "Here" Dax could here Kota's voice off to the side. Dax looked and saw a object flying at him. It was a ball. Dax grabbed at it and it fumbled in his hands for a moment until finally settling underneath his grasp. "Since you were sent here you should be allowed to have them run through their exercises...the first is playing which they did fine on their own. Now we are going to end it with some running which involves that ball...go ahead...give it a toss."

Dax looked at the ball and then at Kota. With a smile on his face he reached up into the air and then released the ball with all his might. The dogs bolted after it, like a stampede. Dax looked at them with a gleeful expression. Finally a medium sized dog, gray in color with white spots covering its back, caught it and ran back, dropping the ball into Dax's hand. Dax look at the ball and then back at all the dogs. There in front of him were all the dogs who waited with tails wagging in excitement. With a giggle Dax threw it again. This game of fetch went on for some time, Dax made sure he threw it so each dog had a chance of retrieving the ball. After a couple of throws, Dax could see the dogs panting from exhaustion. "Alright, alright. Enough for today, come on..." Dax turned and saw Kota speaking clapping his hands together. The puppies all ran around him and waited to get their collars attached to their necks.

Dax went around and helped through this process. After all were attached and in hand Dax looked up to Kota. He seemed to be struggling with one dog. It was wrestling around in the leash and still had to much energy to bare. Finally the dog got loose and began to run off. Kota looked at the Dog with a white face and hand outstretched. "No..." He said "My mom is going to kill me!" Dax looked at the dog bounding off and gave a smile. Kota looked at him and gave him a glare. "How could you be smiling at this time...just because I am going to get in trouble doesnt mean you have a right...you mutt.." Dax looked at him with his smile and took the insult. He looked off at the dog and put his hands out. "I wasnt smiling because of that...I was smiling because the winds felt good today.." Kota gave him a glare "What to you mean--" Before he could finished his statement Dax was off.

Dax collected the chakra inside of him and then jumped into the air. With a push, he released the chakra which created a gust of wind behind him pushing him forward and granting him speed. Dax leapt and bounded down the hills catching closer and closer to the run away dog. Until finally with a nice cart wheel and a back flip to end it all. Dax landed quietly in front of the dog with his arms outstretched. The dog skidded to a halt. With a swift movement Dax clipped the dogs leash on the collar and began to walk back. He laughed a little at the dog. The other puppies might have been done but he still had the energy in the world left.

Dax came back to Kota smiling and walked back to the complex together, Dogs in hand. Once they made it back Dax stopped at the entrance and gave the leashes back to Kota. He turned to walk off. Kota called out quickly making Dax turned quickly to see Kota smiling. "Thank you Dax..." He looked off to the side. "may...Maybe we were wrong about you...you arent all that bad.." He said and quickly walked back into the complex. Dax looked at him with a blank stare and then tears started to fall down his face. He couldnt believe it..He...Dax wiped away the tears and was at a lost for words. Turning around Dax walked back home with the brightest smile anyone would have ever seen.
