Mission name:

The city hidden in the mist was living up to its name, covered in dense fog with the moisture in the air almost making you feel like drowning everytime you take a breath. The streets were always wet as if it had never stopped rainng, although currently the sky was relatively clear. It was past noon and the shinobi military force had duties to attend to, including one of the most common task of patrolling the city.

"A little bit of a walk would suite me well" Kahou stretched her arms above her head in order to warm-up her body. She then bent over foward to touch the ground with her fingertips, coming straight back up to lean backwards.

"That should do it! Now where should I start?" she put a finger to her mouth. She whipped her hand sideways and smiled as she remembered the instructions the duty mission had provided. "Good thing it isn't raining!" she motivated herself to begin still standing in the same position.


Well, in all honesty rain was kind of "The Kiri's thing" and it was not a surprise at all. But it would have been nice to have a sunny day once in a while. And even though one could arguably say Kahou was lucky at this very moment, fortune had also smiled upon her once more for she had a cloak provided to her for the guard duty! She put on the hood to cover her head from the rain and started walking around the city on the predefined route as the water resistant cloth protected her body from drenching. The pools beneath her boots splashed while the mud clenched to her soles - a gift she would have to clean up later at home.

The blond beauty was roaming the streets of Kiri with a rather calm pace, covered in her blue hooded cloak, looking for something suspicious. The citizens of Kiri seemed to be hardworking and none was showing signs of malicious intents but it was understandable for the Hidden Mist was in a "Golden Age" that people recognized as the Solstice Era.

The rain had slowed down but the background noise of raindrops meeting the ground was constant and somehow calming the nerves. Kahou hated this weather but it was not real hatred. She did not despise the rain itself for it was bringing life to the ground, she detested the lack of sunlight and most of all the moisture, the soaked leather smell and as a finishing move - her hair could never be perfect. It always looked messy but she did not realize that in a sense, this was part of her charisma.

A scream came from a few blocks away and Kahou instantly rose her head up. "Nani?" she dashed forward on the street as the water beneath her feet splashed sideways grumpily. A few people went to the wooden windows and hiding between drapes in various colors had succumbed to the overwhelming curiosity. After a right turn the blonde found herself in a small alley between the main streets, where a woman was sitting on the ground embracing her legs with her back against the wall. She slowly turned hear head towards Kahou and their eyes met. Fear. Terror. Seasoned with anger and despair. The Karisuma recognized that look for she had been there herself.

"Where did he go?" were Kahou's only words. The woman sobbing did not answer and stretcher her arm slowly showing the direction. The blonde passed by the woman on the ground. "Go inside!" Kahou raised her voice. It was the only way to reach the scared citizen. As the victim stood up to enter the closest building, the Karisuma was already speeding-up on the trail.

The mission had become intense. After finding the woman in the alley, Kahou had become somewhat focused and could be described as a lioness on the hunt. She was zig-zaging throughout the streets using the Supernatural Walking to take shortcuts. She had caught a glimpse of the perpetrator and was trying to catch-up to him. She knew this was against the rules for the patrol duty but she could not resist the furious surge after finding out his deed.

"Hey, watch where you are going!" a man yelled on the street to the left of the Karisuma. "There!" she immediately concluded as she switched direction and jumped on the nearby roof. Finally she had visual of the suspect but it was not for the better. She was startled by what she was seeing. It was... it was...him! The store manager! The balding middle aged Juroku, who was now running through the streets looking over his shoulders.

"You are not getting away!" she snapped out of the initial shock and threw herself forward continuing her hunt. Although she was trying her best to avoid the past it was always, always waiting for her on the next step. As she was getting closer, Kahou was thinking of ways to intercept the perpetrator and fortunate enough, he gave her the opportunity. Juroku had taken a wrong turn and the street he was now on had only one possible direction. Knowing the city, Kahou immediately climbed the nearby building by walking on the wall and jumped off the roof, falling just in front of the criminal.

Scared he let a short scream and dropped on the ground using his right hand as support to not completely lay down while putting his left in front of his face to protect it. His face had taken a series of impressions reflecting the internal monologue.
"You? LEAVE ME ALONE!" he yelled and tried to get back up on his feet and run in the opposite direction but he stumbled and fell on his face. Kahou was slowly approaching the laying man warming up her right hand for the finishing blow. Her face expressing anger meant there was only one possible outcome.
"No, no... please I beg you... I had no other choice!" the perpetrator started pleading for mercy.
The blonde Karisuma had no intention of letting him go. She lifted her right fist in the air...

Kahou was sitting with her legs entangled on her bed in the dormitory. She had no home of her own as she was practically an escaped slave that found refuge in the military. The blonde Karisuma was thankful to the Mizukage for she had offered protection from a life that never suited the beauty. A life of a maid, of a concubine, of a mistress. The dormitory was a small room in a building made entirely for military personnel that had nowhere else to stay. It was damp and was nowhere near the luxurious bedroom she had in the noble's manor, but it was her own and it represented her freedom. A bed, a night-stand, a cupboard and a door was all that it consisted of. The bathroom was common for the entire floor in order to save space and expense for this was state expense. She was thinking of the most recent past and...

Flashback:

"I cannot let emotions lead my ninja way, but... I also cannot stay indifferent.." she troubled herself as the night had began its embrace over Kirigakure.
