Yuudai

Yuudai

D-rank
Having planted his first step on Mizu no Kuni in the first time in four years, Yuudai rooted himself squarely on the boarded dock that would allow him to escape the vicinity of the boat and head towards the directions where he would face the inevitable. Going back to Kirigakure no Sato meant numerous things to Yuudai, for it meant that it wasn’t solely his past and the deaths that were present that he needed to face. There were also the people. The former Sannin wasn’t sure what exactly his reputation in Kirigakure no Sato was after his departure – when he left he was still respected, though the year of idleness had lessened the amount of responsibilities thrust on his person. Was his disappearance from the village widely known? Probably. Was his status as a shinobi tarnished? Possibly. Would he be seen as a coward for running away? Likely.

Regardless, Yuudai had to face the music once he reached the village, though it was likely he’d be interceded on his trek back by a patrol squad or two on his journey back to Kirigakure no Sato. His current appearance was drastically different than how Yuudai presented himself in the past. Instead of his usual clean kimono or western combat gear, Yuudai could be seen wearing a tattered deep navy blue cloak that covered his upper body and head. Underneath his clothing was simple, a plain black t-shirt and black pants, combined with plain black boots. His current clothing was not something he would wear had he been given his own choice, but his options were limited once he had hit the road all those years ago.

He knew what awaited him upon returning to the village and he knew one person that he would need to deal with, or at least explain himself to, once he reached the gate of the village. The Mizukage would hear of his return sooner or later and a patrol squad would be quick to relay that information to the village’s leadership. That was the sole person that Yuudai would need to tell the truth to, or at least as much as he could without digging himself a hole because of all the personal internal strife that presented itself to Yuudai day in and day out.

“Thank you for providing me safe passage.” Yuudai spoke to the sailor who had dropped him off on the main island that housed Kirigakure no Sato. The sailor happened to be in his mid-to-late thirties, a man that went by the name of Izaya. Yuudai didn’t speak with the man much over the course of the trip, though Izaya seemed to have a quiet understanding that the passenger on his fishing boat happened to have personal conflicts that he drowned himself in while staring out in to the vast and endless ocean.

“It’s no issue at all. I was heading in this direction anyway, like I had told you earlier.” There seemed to be some unsaid words that came from the male, which Yuudai did not need to hear to fully comprehend. With a simple nod, Yuudai threw a small purse of coins in the sailor’s direction.

“Then consider this a gift for the repairs you need to make on your other boat. It’s the least I could do for the free journey.”

With one foot stepping in front of the other, then the other one overtaking it, Yuudai began the journey that would take him back to Kirigakure no Sato. There was no point in him hiding, thus he decided upon taking the main road back to the village that held his fate. Any patrol that came across him and could recognize chakra signatures would easily know that he was a hyōton user and one that had a vast chakra pool. Whether they would know it was Yuudai or not was dependent upon how well trained they were in the realm of chakra signatures. Either way, he would make his way towards the gates of Kirigakure no Sato, his pace being slow and haggard, evident to the naked human eye. His face remained hidden by his cloak covering the features upon his face and his eyes remaining low and upon the road. The man who once held his head high was at an ultimate low. His expectations for a confrontation did not exist, whether he be met by the Mizukage or a patrol escort on the path to the village or met at the gates made no difference to him. The confrontation was inescapable.

And Aya thought this to be a rather calming day.

It hadn't been long as Yuudai entered the village that he would be recognized by some of the older Jounin and ANBU that were on patrol, though 4 years had passed, the chakra signature of a famed swordsman was not something that was quickly forgotten by the village at large, especially one who was also a member of the Kage's extended clan or even potential familiy. Within moments Ayakashi was standing within her office as a panting shinobi looked up at her with slightly shocked eyes, apologizing foer the interruption as they spoke in no uncertain terms. 'Lady Mizukage, I'm sorry to disturb you but we have some urgent news... Aisu-Yuudai has returned, alive, and is heading towards the village... what would you have us do?' Ayakashi's eyes widened in shock, the quill and scroll that she held in hand were let drop cluttering onto the floor as she looked stunned for a moment... taking in a deep breath she didn't know what to do...

'Everything was happening so fast again.'

A rush of emotions came past her as she could once again remember the return of other ninja whom had come back to the village, first there was Strafe, then Yuzu ren and even a couple more, finally Yuudai seemed to have returned... who was next? Kaguza? The thought lingered a while but it was discarded as absurdity. Looking to the ninja Aya would tell them she would handle it and ask for exact co-ordinates. The ANBU would happily grant the request as Ayakashi would head for the window of her office, not bothering this once with any of her extra equipment. Taking little more than changeling and what she was wearing. Being her shroud, gloves her armoured leggings and the wedding band for the most part as she would reach out and grab the side of the window pane. It was at that moment the ANBU member would look back and ask an almost profound question...

'This isn't going to be like what happened with Ren is it? '

Ayakashi didn't even flinch at the break of protocol, her eyes meeting the ground as she looked inside herself for the rage that she had felt when Yuzu Ren had returned to the village and demanded his swords back from her. "No, I don't think so... that was... different. Let it be known that a hero's returned. Ok?" The ANBU nodded and moved to send out the word across the ANBU network as Ayakashi moved to greet the long lost soldier. Though her mind was divided on the issue, should she accept the man with open arms? Or would there be some punishment in order for the ninja whos weapon had returned to the village some time ago? Many had thought the man dead, friends, family. One thing that was expected as a reason, the village deserved that much, as well as an apology. Deciding that getting those were the best option for now, Ayakashi would rush down to meet the man she had once trained with all those years ago.

From the sky ayakashi would descend like a stellar giant. There would be a short, sharp whistle like a projectile was being launched before something would hit the ground, crashing into it with all the force of a comet on entry as a dust cloud exploded from the point of impact on the road. Rising up from a crouched position like a pheonix would be a shadow within the dust, long shimmering blue hair down to her waist as chakra plumed from a single eye like blue fire. Ayakashi stood before him older now, nearly six feet tall, strong, emboldened by time though still wearing her open cloak with little more than bandages across her upper body. Ayakashi looked fierce, but she was always one to make a dramatic entrance. It was part and parcel of her station as the Mizukage, and probably one of the reasons that people respected her so much, the first impression anyone had of her in any given moment was one of strength and power. To the point that it was synonymous with her very name.

"Yuudai... "

Ayakashi had planned the sentence in her head, but, in the heat of the moment her emotions came over her, tears welling up in her eyes as she saw him, her fists clenched and everything came washing over her in one massive storm until she just couldn't take it. So, with a single raw motion she would throw a punch in his direction strong enough for him to feel it and definately leave a mark for a few days, but not strong enough to send him reeling or even flying like a rag-doll across the landscape. No sooner than he had the chance to recover and look back in her direction, Ayakashi would have thrown her arms around his shoulders.

"It's good to see you ... ... ... when we found your blade we all thought the worst. " Aya spoke, stepping back and wiping the tears from her eyes.

Yuudai

Yuudai

D-rank
He knew there were patrols watching him as he neared the gates, getting ever-so-closer to the inevitable meeting with the Mizukage; a woman whom he had trained with when he was a mere genin and then once had another spar during his early years as a Jōnin. All those years ago, when he was a mere child still – one whom was still uninformed of the dangers presented by the world – he had figured he could rise to power and use his own abilities and defend the Village. He had one exactly that. Yuudai had risen from nothing to a hero, though his fall from grace was just as quick as his rise. From being a genin to a jonin in what seemed like a blink of an eye, Yuudai had been widely regarded as one of the four strongest individuals of Kirigakure no Sato during those years, before everything went to hell.

The Seven Bells War literally took everything he held dear. There were two different battles he could clearly recall – one where he allied himself with a Suna-nin to take care of one the two commanders of the Seven Bells Army and another where he and a Konoha-nin had nearly finished off the second commander of that army. While he was busy with those particulars, his direct family suffered. His mother succumbed to illness prior to this entire mess and she died while he was out on the battlefield. And then there was the woman whom he loved and was expecting a child with – they had died while he had been running around the village trying to stop others from dying. An unfortunate attack on his residence had resulted in the death of an innocent woman and a child who had yet to see the light of day. No matter what it seemed he had done, someone suffered regardless. Saving the lives of others had resulted in the lives of his loved ones being lost – his family. His family, the only one he truly knew, was gone. All that really remained was the blood ties he had to the clan and that extension led to the woman he was expecting to meet him sooner rather than later. Ayakashi, Strafe, whoever else he knew that were members of the Aisu clan were the only family he had remaining, but it wasn’t for them that he returned.

Yuudai’s return to the village was primarily personal. One reason was to move on with his life by coming to agreement that there was no way his life was going back to prior to the Seven Bells War. The second was to fulfill the self-made promise he made to him as a genin, to defend the village and her people. Deaths would always be on his hands, both the ones that he was trying to protect and failed and the ones he took on his own. If, by some chance, he was not allowed to complete the second task, then Yuudai would disregard it entirely… and figure out something else given the circumstances he would be presented. He, however, knew that his reception would not be of an entirely welcome back variety. Instead it would be chalk full of scepticism.

He stopped in his tracks when he sensed a vast change in the wind, for his expectations knew what was to come. A resounding sound emanated from a point in front of him, his eyes for the first time no longer focused on the path he was taking, but on the individual who had obstructed his path of return.

There was no mistaking her, for one couldn’t mistake the Mizukage after meeting her before. It had been upward of four years since he last saw her, but that didn’t mean he forgot the people he knew.

“Yuudai...”

That was his name, he knew it, but he wasn’t used to it. Over the past few years, he only heard his name spoken on another’s tongue with how many fingers he had on one hand. His interactions with others were limited, with the only significant one being with… Kaguza. He wasn’t sure what to make of that situation, but until he had a better grasp on the scenario with the other former Sannin, Yuudai wouldn’t bring about the subject. Then again… that wasn’t the Kaguza that the village knew, much like he was no longer the Yuudai that the village once knew.

In an instance a fist flew towards his chest – a fist most would try and dodge due to the renowned strength of the Mizukage – which he took with completely without a flinch. If this was his punishment, he would accept it. He was expect the worst case scenario and fighting back was not anywhere near his mind. The real fight had left him five years ago. Five years later, he was trying to seek it out once more. The force behind the blow was more than enough to leave a large bruise, though she clearly held back, for Yuudai remained planted in his spot. The next thing he knew was the arms around his shoulders for a brief period of time.

“It's good to see you ... ... ... when we found your blade we all thought the worst.”

Perhaps, the worst case scenario would have been the best. A relief from all the inner turmoil he felt that no one else would be able to understand. These were his concerns that only he could deal. Returning would help solve those sooner or later.

As the Mizukage stepped back, Yuudai’s hands slowly reached up to draw the hood of his cloak back, exposing his purple hair once more to the world, still kept in the ponytail at the nape of his neck like he had done so as a genin. His features remained the same with two major exceptions. One was the maturity that came with age that could not be avoided.  The major difference was the turmoil that clearly showed in his eyes, the detachment from the world in his pool of deep blue’s far more significant than they had been five years ago.

“I suppose an explanation is in order...” His voice trailed slightly, clearly sounding like it had not been used much in ages, before he realized any reason he gave wasn’t good enough, regardless of is he gave the truth or not. “After everything that happened…” He didn’t need to spell it out… Ayakashi would know when she had read the death reports of the casualties from the Seven Bells War and the reported deaths from the hospital. “It just seemed like the easiest solution... running… rather than dealing with any of it.” Yuudai’s eyes would clearly address the statement that nothing had been resolve on his part.

The lost ninja spoke softly, and Aya didn't know what to do.

Simply put, the answer he gave wasn't good enough, Ayakashi shook her fist as she had made an impact with him shaking off the blow as she would stare on at yuudai in a state of disbelief. "Yuudai, you were an S rank ninja of our village, one of the strongest forces of will and power the country had ever seen, you were one of the legendary seven swordsman, a hero to our people... And you expect me to just believe you had enough, that things were too hard so you decided to run away and give up? No, I refuse and the people will refuse, don't insult your teacher and your training and disrespect Sero's memory by even thinking that this became too hard. Give me something real, give me something that I can believe and then maybe, we can move forward with helping you. Had you been caught... you knew we would have had armies after you, so you must have been prepared to face those men and women... who you once fought beside and protected... was it worth that?"

'Aya almost felt sick at the thought of his implications.'

The life of a ninja, even a high ranking one was not an easy one, that was for sure, but she knew it was nothing that Yuudai shouldn't have been able to handle. He was a beacon of hope amongst the people of the nation and a member of Ayakashi's clan along with Strafe, the three of them together were indefeatable, and yet Yuudai had been gone for some time. "I'm not saying this to try and grill the truth out of you, but when you return I will have to tell the people something. S rank ninja can't be seen to just come and go as they please in our village yuudai! I'm not about to throw one of my family members to the hounds by letting you go on record and say you left because you couldn't handle the job. If you couldn't handle the job, you come to me, and step down, retire.... you don't walk off into the damn wilderness without a word like a lost sheep! "

'There was a pause, and a long sigh.'

Aya kashi would ease off the attack for now and give him a change to defend himself and explain a little deeper into what he was thinking, Ayakashi could see in his eyes that he had gone through no small shortage of pain. But this shit was serious... there were people and lives at stake who relied on Yuudai and the others to keep them safe, and they let those people down and put all the ownice on Aya in the mean time. Times were tough all around, but, if the job had been too tough for Yuudai before, Aya wasn't about to let him know the kinds of things she had-had to deal with in the mean time. Not to mention that there had been a serial vigilante hanging around the village of late eliminating missing ninja and high profile criminal targets outside the scope of kirigakure's laws. It's hard to track down the source of the incidents and then there was the mess with the Daimyo that Ayakashi was needing to remove... but one by one things were getting done.

'one by one the books were balancing'

Yuudai

The truth, the only other reason Yuudai stayed away for as long as he did was to try and solve the one concern that presented itself to Yuudai when he had been in Kaze no Kuni. The fact that he had seen him when he was supposedly dead did not resolve anything. Yuudai’s interaction with the other man had been brief, but enough for him to know that the man he found was in fact the same one whom he had once fought alongside with. Yet, the fact remained that he had died at one point – then again, Yuudai had supposedly died as a result of his absence. The circumstances were different between the two of them and Yuudai remained whole while the other was broken.

Until he knew for sure, he couldn’t exactly come outright and say that he was alive. Then again, Yuudai could tell that the man he had come across barely knew himself.

Frozen Soldier.

That’s what he had been called by the remnant of what was, supposedly, Kaguza. Learning that he still breathed had been a relief to Yuudai, but a mystery that needed far more clues than he had been aware of. After that brief meeting with Kaguza, one where Yuudai left him with his own personal weapon, Setsura (which was noticeably absent from his side for the past four years), he had tried and sought out to find any information he could about Aphasia and what could be done about it. Before Yuudai could get too far into researching about it, he had figured he could find Kaguza once more and see if he could gather anything… anything at all that would clue him in on what had transpired since the time he departed from Kirigakure no Sato.

Alas, Yuudai’s search had been for null, as he couldn’t find the other Sannin he had fought alongside.

After that, Yuudai had figured he could remain near Kaze no Kuni and Hi no Kuni to see if Kaguza had remained or travelled to a neighbouring country. From the state Yuudai had found him in he knew that the man wasn’t of the right of mind entirely, nor did he seem fully capable of what he had once been able to perform.

Explaining that to Ayakashi would be more trouble than it was ultimately worth… The fact that he could have brought Kaguza back promptly immediately entered his mind for a line of questioning, and he wasn’t sure anything he could provide was good enough. A mind that worked differently than the women who currently opposed him would never be able to form a reason that was suitable. He knew that the worst his fate could come to and that would, in the ultimate sense, be the best fate for him.

“You think I don’t know that?” A slight bit of anger rose in his voice, though it wasn’t directed at the Mizukage whatsoever. The normally collected façade that Yuudai always presented, for the first time in over a decade, faded in the slightest.  “Those people can speak all they want about me and how inept I am, though that ultimately does not matter to me… But it does to you…” He knew where this was coming down to, but didn’t mention it in the slightest. Image. That’s what it was and would be. The masses of people look up to the Mizukage and her ultimate rule. “If you really want to know… well, I’m not entirely sure if this reason is better or worse than the one I gave you before.”

He would wait before elaborating further, not to build anticipation, but figuring out the correct way to phrase the words that they wouldn’t be… incorrectly interpreted. After a few good seconds had passed, the former shinobi of Kirigakure no Sato would continue, “It would have been simple to come back within that first year, if I hadn’t come across this one person. I had to look into it, so I spent the following years trying to track him on my own, trying to see if I could help him in any way shape or form. It was an impulsive decision, but one that I had to take due to the mistake I made to begin with of leaving him alone.”

Producing the name was more difficult than he could anticipate, but it would have to eventually spill from his tongue. “It was someone who had been confirmed dead during the Seven Bells War… but he wasn’t himself anymore.” His tongue held the name, not being able to produce it right away. His death had been confirmed, his body had been recovered… so there was not any way his mind could see how Kaguza made it all the way to Kaze no Kuni, alive. Though, Yuudai had not seen the body himself, so he couldn’t exactly say if it was the Sannin’s or not. “… It was Kaguza.”

Crack...

Aya's eyes widened in shock, there was no way, could he, be alive? If Yuudai said it, he would know more than anyone. Ayakashi was physically stunned, unable to move, unable to do anything. Yuudai had thrust a blade sharper than any other into the heart of the Mizukage as tears began to freely well within her eyes. She had so many questions, but, Ayakashi knew and had gotten somewhat good at recognizing when she was emotionally compromised. This, after everything she had dealt with, was one of the few occasions where Ayakashi now felt that she had to remove herself from the equation and allow somebody else to deal with this. Her mind was racing so quickly words were hard to come by, and she could feel her emotional state deteriorating rapidly in the mean-time. Within seconds she had felt all strength leave her, her chest was pulling, her hands were beginning to shake and tremble uncontrollably and she couldn't so much as keep her jaw under control.

"I... how? I buried him, we saw him die... the note he sent... I ... ... I jus-... I can't. How is that possible..? "

Wiping her eyes somewhat frantically, attempting to gather herself enough to be out with even a simple sentence. Finally a moment of clarity shone through and the Mizukage found herself elloquent enough to be out with the instruction that she wanted to get out.

"Okay... I want you, to go to Sero, report 'everything' to him. We want to know everything, we need to, and tell him we need an effort to bring him back. But, for now, don't worry about presenting yourself to the public, you did well... really well. So...uhm, welcome back Yuudai. Sorry, I- I've been dealing with a lot. I'll see you back at home. I need some time."

With that, Ayakashi would turn and begin to leave, she needed to get out of there, she needed to find a place where she was able to allow herself to break down entirely, she could feel the overwhelming emotions taking over yet again, but it wasn't okay for that to happen while she was in plain sight of civilians as well as the ANBU who were likely watching these events unfold. As she took a couple of steps away, she would slow to a stop and look over her shoulder, turning back to smile at Yuudai, though it was forced, though it was feigning strength and stability to an almost obvious extent, she would cover her weakness almost symbolically with her mask, allowing her hollow and metallic voice to ring through once again.

"Its really, really good to see you again Yuudai, I'll be home soon."

'And then she was gone.'

At another place, at another time, Aya had retreated into her work in the Mizukage administration building, her training room having been almost totally destroyed. Shards of ice littering the room as training dummies were left strewn about in varying levels of shattered. Ayakashi's hands were still trembling as she would attempt to continue writing a document, the suicide letter that Kaguza had written to her placed upon the table, insinuating that it had been read again recently. Ayakakshi's hands had not finished trembling as her attention was drawn back to the letter, another wave of emotion overcame her, her strength flaring as control was lost and she snapped the quill in which she was writing with in two, sending a streak of ink across her document. Anger and frustration welled and Aya slammed her fist into her table, sending massive cracks down its frame which caused her to reel in regret.

Sleep didn't come easily that night. But once it had a dark figure was seen over the village that night, cries and screams silenced by the strangling mists as a phantom left little more but blood and gore in its wake. Jounin could be felt storming across the village in a direction towards the docks, a fire in the distance burning brightly as people fought to squash it. The figure however, sleuthing back past their ranks with such deft skill that even the B and A ranking ninja of the village hidden in the mist would not notice it. The scene once they arrived was a nightmare, dismembered and segmented bodies cast about in the most brutal of fashions in lavish displays of viscera that only a creative entity could have hoped to create. Many of the victims eliminated in such a way that they would have been alive when they were consumed by the flames. Although, one thing that stood out, was that several child victims of human trafficking had been released and spared the cruel attack.

Much of the village was awake that night, looking at the crimson horizon and wondering on the commotion, yet the crow faced entity that made its way back through the village would be pearched high on one of the noble clan buildings in the inner city, holding a dagger in its hands as it cleaned the blood off the edge with the black leather cloak it wore.

'Not bad, not bad at all... They'll be talking about that one for a while. But what's next? Hmmm.'

Kicking off the top of the building, the being in black would land with grace and style on the ground, sheathing the jagged teethed daggers into their holsters at its hips as the shadow would attempt to slink between buildings on the ground level. Sleuthing through the heart of the city, undeterred and unaccosted once again, as horror was left in its wake.

Yatagarasu had struck again.

Yuudai

Yuudai

Whether it was news he should have delivered or not to the Mizukage mattered not. Whether the supposed death of Kaguza being a sham mattered not. Whether or not this news was some Yuudai should have been the one to spew mattered not. For the words had escaped him and there was no way he could reverse the scenario. The Mizukage had wanted the truth as to his disappearance and he had delivered – for the mystery had plagued Yuudai more than enough to attempt to seek those answers for himself to resolve the puzzle surrounding the death of a fellow former Sannin of Yuudai’s. The former wielder of the Serpent’s Tongue blade of the Mist kept quiet as the Mizukage tried to comprehend the situation Yuudai had just dumped upon her head. There was no remorse on Yuudai’s part for dumping this vital information – his only regret was not being able to get a hold of Kaguza and bring him home with him.

The visible emotions of Ayakashi kept Yuudai at bay, watching her struggle with her thoughts and the past that had spelled out the death of Kaguza. Yuudai’s reaction when he had found his fellow ally in his state hadn’t been anything close to that – at that point in time, Yuudai had been far more emotionally spent to really have such a reaction. Though, all things considered, Yuudai had often been the least of the three – between him, Strafe, and Ayakashi – to be the least emotionally compromised. The frozen soldier as Kaguza had referred to him was more than apt, his emotions were always – previously – hidden behind a wall thicker than the ice he could form. Now… was an entirely different story.

Perhaps, one day, Yuudai could return to his former glory and aptitude when it came to being a shinobi and a person.

The truth had been more… than what Yuudai had expected for his return. Telling the truth about Kaguza hurt at the same time, not for the reasons most would believe. It hurt him because Kaguza really hadn’t been Kaguza at that time.

As far as Ayakashi’s instructions went, he would attend to them when time permitted, but today was not that day. The next day, tomorrow, would be more than enough for Yuudai to attend to the business Ayakashi had delved to him, but today he was committed to the one task that he had set out to do when he had decided to return home. It was not neglect, but rather having a list of priorities he had set out for himself, and while the task he was given held some importance, it paled in comparison to the things Yuudai sought to take care of in the coming days.

With her departing words still resonating within him, Yuudai took them at face value, though he couldn’t imagine what it was that broke Ayakashi further than the news he delivered. Though, perhaps it was simply the matter of the former Sannin overthinking the scenario, for he had years to come to terms with the situation the Kaguza presented by his newly discovered existence in the world. Regardless, Yuudai would continue forth towards the village. Her forced expression was more than enough to have him questioning what happened during his absence, but he had no right to know given his disappearance from the village.

To say today was a rough day was an understatement, for Yuudai had no idea such a scenario would have presented itself to him. The desire to return had never been there, for he could never truly accept the fate that had come to his family and the prospective family he would have loved limitlessly. Today had been spent trying to make amends with not being able to protect them, for not being there for them in their time of need, for he had been elsewhere, trying to save more than he could actually protect. Sacrifices were what he had made, and those sacrifices haunted him day-in and day-out. Was it worth it all? He honestly could not give an answer that he was fully satisfied with – for one forsaking one meant saving the others. Ultimately, his actions defined his choice. Choosing the masses over those whom he was closest to.

That was all his mind could think about, the alcohol he had consumed amplifying that issue further than he had intended. The trip he made to their graves… he tried, but couldn’t not yet. It was just too much for him to handle right away. He had already seen where the ruin of his family home had been – for it had been replaced by a restaurant of some sort that Yuudai instantly despised.

Gripping the glass of liquid in his right hand, strengthen his grip on it ever-so-slightly that it began to frost over, Yuudai was almost at the point where he could throw it against the wall. He had heard about the incident that had occurred tonight, but he stayed out of it. The village had survived without him, what was one more night on top of that?

He knew he had to get back to who he was, who he had been. Someone whom was unfazed by any turn of events. Someone who could stand through the utmost disastrous situation and remain level headed. That wasn’t him anymore, not currently. All his emotions were unravelled, open to being read by anyone. It was a weakness. A weakness he needed to get rid of entirely.

Glass shattering could be heard, for the glass that had been in his hand was now splayed on the floor just a few feet away from where Yuudai was currently situated in the barren room he occupied – a supposed dining room. This wasn’t his home, but one that had been available to him to take over in the clan compound – one where he would constantly be surrounded by people.

“Stupid… Idiot…” He grumbled to himself, staring at his hand that had been cut by a single shard of glass. It wasn’t anything dangerous, but one that would bleed profusely if it was not taken care of soon enough.
