Thunder Grounds. A formal request for a training, genin to genin. Mizuki was wearing her kumogakure kunoichi outfit, katana at her hips and waited slightly nervous for her opponent. It had been quite some time since she had any sort of spars, so occupied running about on missions, perfectioning her kata and working on jutsu she had almost forgotten proper spars were just as important. So here she was now to confront a taijutsu specialist, it would prove to be an interesting fight as she herself used bukijutsu. To face a melee stand-off was just what Mizuki could use to try something out. Something harmless, really, since she didn't have the raiton jutsu just yet to make it more dangerous.

A voice resonated through the area as it inquired about her identity and reasons to be here, and after replying in proper, a young man showed up from behind a rock. He was dressed in a simple attire, wrists reinforced and protected by bandages. He looked like he hadn't been sleeping in quite some time, making Mizuki wonder if he had been just as nervous. His demeanour didn't seem to emphasise that, however. The rules of the spar were repeated once more - no maiming or killing - and as the two agreed, they each bowed towards each other with good sportsmanship.

Taking their stances, the two immediately clashed, trading blows and avoiding others one after another, testing out each other's defences while analysing combat styles. They seemed quite evenly matched - her scabbard had the benefit of allowing some distance between the two of them, but once he bypassed that his swift and measured attacks were hard to get away from. As the two were warmed up somewhat, they hopped back to leave some distance. This would prove to be an interesting fight.

"I'm glad you're fighting with your scabbard rather than your katana.", he said, grinning.
"Your fighting style is a difficult one to get away from.", she returned the compliment.
"Right. Ready to rumble?"

She nodded, forming the hand seals of the jutsu she wanted to try out, "Suiton - Bubblegum" as he formed those of a familiar jutsu: Shock Bullets. Blowing the bubble into shape, bullets flew past her, some of which she was obliged to deflect with her katana before the two collided in a melee fight again. This time, he was at a slight disadvantage as he found himself getting annoyed by the flow of water, finding his clothes wet soon enough. It seemed to dawn him that she, as a Raiu, used the same elements as himself and broke off close combat immediately as he expected a raiton jutsu to follow up the bubble.

"You said Raiu was your name? Tsh. That bubble of yours is a pain.", he stated as he formed a new series of hand signs to create a pool of water nearby, then followed it up with a suiton bunshin clone. Knowing she had little means herself on jutsu matter, Mizuki prepared the Seafoam jutsu as a counter to the clone. If they decided to fight with two against her, she'd be able to use the distraction to gain some respite.

As jutsu were formed, K ran back up for another round of brawling, leaving the clone behind to perform yet another set of hand seals. Familiar ones, again, as she recognised the creation of a jutsu her squad leader had shown before - Javelin. She wasn't sure how she'd have to handle this, fighting a taijutsu shinobi while avoiding potentially three ranged attacks, but she couldn't help but wonder why he'd use ranton in the first place. Hadn't he just jumped back because he saw the bubble's potential?

The two genin clashed again. K was kept within the bubble's stream as good as possible as she could see K was mostly attempting to close the little advantage she had on distance, and demanded all her concentration if she wanted to keep that advantage. As the first javelin was fired, it pierced the bubble, shocking K in the progress as the ranton briefly coursed through the suiton bubble and missed her about a hair. However, K had anticipated the pain the javelin would bring, gritting his teeth to embrace it. The brief moment of distraction Mizuki suffered to dodge the javelin was all he needed to close the gap between them and place a full taijutsu combo against her. Her ribs and left leg had felt the blow of his strength, but she was given little time to recover as the second javelin made its way towards her. Crouching, she narrowly dodged that one, and saw the bubble burst before the third javelin hit her straight in the shoulder to leave a nasty burn wound with that.

Having no chakra left, the suiton clone disappeared, turning the battle back into a one versus one. Aiming to finish the spar with a victory, K rushed over to Mizuki with the intend to knock her out, but he hadn't counted on the Seafoam that had quietly remained waiting such an opportunity. Right before he could strike, the bubbles popped, briefly startling him and forcing him into the defence as he had not quite expected an attack, upon which it was Mizuki's turn to retaliate with a good swipe of her scabbard - a blow that could prove fatal if it was her katana. However, the blow didn't hit as K recovered quite quickly and she had been slower due to her wounds. Instead, he had dropped to the floor and now swiped her legs from under her. Jumping back up, he went in for the final blow again, stopping his fist just an inch before her face. She knew the fight was over.

Taking a step back, he offered a hand to pull her up, which she accepted.

"Congratulations on your victory, K.", she didn't feel the need to add more, allowing him the right to feel proud about his combat. he had proven to be the better fighter today.
"Thanks", he grinned widely. "I hope we can do this again some time."
