D-rank
Mission name: Escaped goat!
Mission rank: D
Objective: Capture and bring back the mountain goat.
Location: Valley of the mountains
Reward: 100 ryo
Mission description: A farmer's mountain goat got away while he was bringing it back. It's meant for breeding so bring it back unharmed.
Mission details: Like all mountain goats the goat will try to get away via scaling a mountain side. Seemingly impossible perches found one after the other. You will have to use supernatural walking practice or a grappling hook just to get to it and bring it down. It has a leash attached to it still but careful not to just yank it down. The fall will kill it and you can not just hang it by its neck via leash.

~(Begin Mission)~

Storms rage across the long mountain range, as Logan was leaping through the streets of Iwagakure.  He had just been assigned a mission by the Earth country to help out a local farmer by locating his recently missing goat.  Running on the east side of the country, Logan was determined to pass his very first mission with ease.  Completion was the only thing lurking in Logan's mind on his travel there - besides that, his mind has been clear with only thoughts of succeeding.

Finally arriving to the Valley of Mountains, Logan was confronted with many different pathways that he could take to try to find the mountain goat.  Tch... He began to think to himself, There are so many ways through these blasted lands... I need to think.  If only he had unlocked the Kyudoka secret of the Takamegan, as it would have made this mission a whole lot easier for him.  Not dwelling too much on the past, Logan shook his head and decided to take the path closest to him.  The path he took was the center path, the most commonly taken path for tourists.  There was a good chance the goat had taken the center path as the farmer's goat was lost just before the entrance to the plethora of paths.

Logan sighed, sprinting forward through the pathway, keeping his senses on high alert while looking for the goat.  As he was running, he heard a distinct sound to the right of him, echoing from a distance.  Huh?, he thought to himself as he immediately turned all of his focus to the east side of the ranges.  Leaping off the trail, Logan began to focus a tiny fraction of his chakra towards his feet as he needed to scale down the mountain.  Looking down the mountain as he was running, Logan spotted a silhouette of something he could not identify from how far he was, but it had the potentially to be the goat he was looking for.  Finally reaching the base of the first mountain, he ran across the plains that separated it from the second mountain.

Finally reaching the base of the second mountain, Logan peered his eyesight upwards, finally being able to get a good luck of the unknown presence.  After further investigation, Logan smirked as he realized it was the indeed the farmer's goat, oddly scaling the side of the mountain.  Logan let out a small outburst of laughter, surprising himself on how easy it was to find the goat.  Closing his eyes, it was now time to decide on how to scale the goat back down.  Further analyzing the mountain, Logan took note of the many rocks that were sticking out of the mountain, while also noting the slope of the mountain.

The young shinobi had his plan all figured out, ready to execute his idea with ease.  Opening his eyes again once more, Logan was met with an unlucky surprise.  While his eyes were closed, the goat noticed the approach of Logan, and began to run up the mountain.  The trajectory of the goat made it seem as if he was going to hop onto the trail of the second mountain.  Without having any time to think, Logan had to spring into action with only a halfcocked plan in mind.  Focusing the chakra into his feet once more, the young shinobi escalated the side of the mountain, continuously dodging the following connected rock formations.

The goat was surprisingly fast on his feet, but Logan was faster.  He continued to escalate the mountain as the goat landed on the trail, gaining an immense speed boost away from his chaser.  Logan was slightly behind the goat, finally jumping up onto the trail, discontinuing the focus of chakra onto his feet.  The goat was still hauling ass, and it was time for Logan to decided how to handle the other half of his plan.  Without having much more time in the world before the goat decided to decline down the other side of the mountain, Logan acted.  Logan took one of the hands and extended it outwards, making a pistol formation with his fingers.  He aimed down his thumb sight, shutting off one eye to have a more powerful focus on his aim.  “Raiton: Shogeki-dan”, Logan whispered under his breath, as he focused chakra into the tip of his pointer finger.  Half a second passes as Logan released two shock bullets from his fingertip, as they launched towards the legs of the goat.  “Bahhhh!”, the goat exclaims, as both shock bullets connect, sending the goat flying down to the ground.

Without skipping a beat, Logan continued to run towards the fallen goat, quickly forming another on the spot plan in his head.  As soon as he reached the goat, he checked to make sure it was still breathing – thankfully it was.  The goat’s body was still jittery, most likely a side effect from the electric shocks, but that was okay to Logan.  He took the leash that was already wrapped around the goats’ neck and wrapped it around Logan’s arm so he had a steady grip on the goat in case it decided to run again.  With the goat still pitifully laying on the ground, Logan picked it up and held it across his shoulder blades.  The mission was almost complete, as Logan travelled down the trail of mountain two, heading back to goat owner’s farm.

Logan experienced little to no trouble on the way back to the farm, as the goat was completely pacified.  He had finally completed his first mission, and it was something that the young shinobi would remember for the rest of his life.  Heading closer to farm, the owner was standing outside of his house, resting on his rocking chair.  “Hey…. You got him!”, the old farmer exclaimed, as he got up out of his chair to greet the two.  Logan responded with silence, showing a tiny smile to his succession as he rested the goat down to the owner’s feet.  “Thank you, young ninja boy!”, the clearly socially disconnected farmer said, as Logan nodded his head in response.  He thought to himself about how this was just the first of many, and his journey was just getting started.  He turned back away from the farm and walked away, back to the village to report his success – and claim his reward.
