Kashizudoto

Kashizudoto

Damn, this young chuunin was impatient as hell for the Hokage and friends to get their butts over to Iwagakure; by his poor standards of keeping time, they were at least a day or two later than he'd expected them to be! Though it should be noted that he did come here earlier than expected; there was very little on his way to the village and he had departed as soon as he got the message, so obviously the group that was behind him wouldn't catch up immediately. He was aware that there was a genin in the group, and he secretly held the belief that this guy was slowing down the group massively. Still, he couldn't be too harsh on the guy. After all, Kashizudoto was a genin back when he accepted this mission, although his skill set was certainly much more than that.

He used this delay in the arrival of the others as an opportunity to get ahead as a shinobi: he'd adventured all around in Iwagakure, training everywhere he went, and had even done four short term missions here, which were probably the most difficult that he'd ever faced in his shinobi career. Oh ya, and he had ended up joining a secret order of shinobi recently: the Order of the White Lotus. He was rushing from one place to the next, undertaking huge tasks with very little rest. Who could blame the guy: he was an impatient kid who wanted to explore the world and become so much greater than he was currently. Obviously, the rush was taking a huge toll on him. Although he had physically and mentally gotten so much stronger due to his rapid adventures where he had learned so much, he had become extremely fatigued. A brief visit to the hot springs a little earlier helped with his problem a tiny bit; however, his eyelids were still basically half shut. And what did Kashizudoto decide to do to wake himself up? Go on another frickin' dangerous mission, of course! At least he'd get some adrenaline pumping in him again.

Apparently some suspicious figures were seen lurking near a fortress that composed part of Iwagakure's wall: Bastion Adamantine. Did Kashizudoto ever express his hatred of walls? The idealistic chuunin felt that they only served to divide people, just like those damn things known as "borders". Of course, that's the reason why he joined the Order of the White Lotus in the first place. It was a group of shinobi who worked to ensure global peace by transcending national boundaries. The young chuunin was truly grateful to find people who shared his globally focused ideals, which most found at least a little crazy but these people seemed to appreciate.

However, his mission was to protect this section of the wall, which was at this time very poorly guarded, from anything that might occur. He was to kill anyone who threatened the security of the village of Iwa. Well, as long as he could get a reward from it, Kashizudoto was alright with the basic premise of this mission. It's not like he had to do anything too egregious, although he had a preference not to outright kill criminals. However, almost any criminal in Iwagakure would end up getting summarily executed anyway as far as Kashizudoto could see, although Kiri was by far the worst in its treatment of those who went even slightly against the Mizukage's commands.

The young chuunin made his way to the fortress in his usual attire. He wore a black robe embroidered on the edges with gold, a gift from Master Piandao (who Kashizudoto now knew was the Grand Lotus of the Order) after the chuunin's apprenticeship under him. On the left hip was a bamboo sheath holding the Tentetsutou, the blade that Kashizudoto forged out of a four billion year old meteorite during his apprenticeship under Piandao. Next to it was a coil of wire that must have measured about fifty meters in total; it seemed to come in handy so many times during his stay at the Land of Earth, whether it was for crossing chasms, scaling cliffs, backtracking his steps when he was lost, or propelling himself towards a surface. Underneath, on his upper left thigh, was a holster containing one kunai knife and three shuriken, some basic projectiles that came in handy every now and then. On his head were his half shut eyes with darkness below them that suggested the extent of his sleep deprivation as well as a Konoha hitae-ate on his forehead that not only protected that vulnerable part of his body but also alerted everyone that he was not from around these parts.

He reached the fortress and immediately began to scour the area, although a little more sluggishly than usual due to his sleep deprivation. He was going to investigate whether these shady figures posed a threat to the foreign village and eliminate them if they were shown to be such. It was all good for a few hours, he was just scouting out the perimeter of the fortification peacefully, until he saw something out the corner of his eye and turned immediately to face two ninja hiding in the trees. Surely they were less experienced than him considering that he was able to find their location so easily. They had kunai knives out and on the ready, so clearly they were here to inflict some damage. He opened up the fight by breathing in deep and releasing a great fireball from his mouth that head straight for them.

Perhaps he didn't need to kill them; his mission did say, looking back, that he was to "eliminate the threat", meaning that to he destroyed the "threat", which was a potential attack, he could send them to a prison cell instead of dispatch them on-sight. Besides, he was sleep deprived; the amount of killing that he'd had to do on these missions was remarkable. The stuff that he had to do in real life could turn into nightmares pretty quickly. That would not be good.

The two enemy shinobi tried to dodge his jutsu; however, as they were inexperienced (about D-rank skill), the two could not avoid it and were hit with minor second degree burns on exposed skin and major first degree burns on unexposed skin and knocked them off the tree in pain. He would signal to the guards to capture the enemy shinobi while they were down. But this was only the precursor to more attack...

A ton of guards suddenly yelped as he heard steel clash against steel from the same direction, so Kashizudoto turned his head around. He found three ninja, stronger than the two that he'd just faced who had just taken down the guards. They hadn't killed the guards yet, and Kashizudoto wasn't about to let them do that. But how could one chuunin face three others? Sure, he was probably a little stronger than each of them individually, but he couldn't take on all three at once unless... He figured it out!

First, he enflamed his sword with katon chakra using his kekkei genkai jutsu (as a result of the katon jutsu he cast earlier, his sword was also hot with his kekkei genkai, making it inflict a rank higher in damage. Next, Kashizudoto divided his chakra into three equal pieces, one being the original him and the other two being shadow clones who were exact replicas of him, copying the jutsu that he had just cast on his sword, the kekkei genkai that he had currently active, and even the sleep that he'd lost.

Each would take on an opponent one on one, entering a sequence of dodging punches and kunai knife stabs from the criminals and then retorting with hard hitting, flaming strikes from their katanas. After a few minutes, all of the Kashizudotos had successfully gotten in a low sweep against each of the criminals. He ordered the guards, who had now gotten back up and were ready, to throw those three into cells, which they complied with.

"Hey kid, wanna take some rest at the fortress? You seem really anxious right now," said the guard. Clearly he was able to tell how damn tired the young chuunin was. A few more hours, and Kashizudoto might end up in the same state as a drunkard. The world was starting to spin around his head at this point. He was keeping up physically, or at least trying, but the mental exhaustion was the worst part.

"Nah, I'm good, but..." moaned the young chuunin who added, "Thanks so much for the offer. I really... appreciate it." He was getting really drowsy. From here, he'd be heading straight to Iwa's Living Quarters, where he had a room all to himself for his stay, so that he could take a nap before attempting some other dangerous thing.
