D-rank
It was a sunny day in Iwagakure. The birds sang their songs, the people went about their day, and among them, looking up at a large rock climb, was Oki Kuma, the bear ninja. Standing at a tremendous six foot and five inches, the sixteen year old genin wore his forehead protector around his neck. His chest was covered with a sleeveless jacket, its colour the same brown as his training shorts, seemingly a dusty, dirty colour. His feet protected by sandals, around the hairy man’s neck a metal chain that was most likely there for training rather than protection purposes, both of these adding to the oddity of his appearance. His small, spiky goatee only seeming to further how old the amount of hair covering his body made him look, his hair was spiked back as if he’d just electrocuted himself. And standing lazily, as if it was plodded out to meet him, a small bear cub stood, small being an understatement. Still about the size of a full grown dog, the bear cub had a matching forehead protector around its neck, its caramel brown fur highlighted by a single patch of white covering its snout. This bear was Debu, and together, Oki and Debu were prepared for their first mission… To grab a goat.

The large man had to admit, it was quite an underwhelming first task, however there was nothing to be done about the situation. The job needed doing, and he was just a genin, even if his height would tell strangers differently. Stuffing the piece of paper containing the details rather unceremoniously into his pocket, the large bear man cracked his neck, deciding to use the mission at hand as training. He would climb this mountain without the supernatural walking technique. But not only this, he would also climb without his usual strength! How would he do so? Like a bear! Nodding to Debu, the bear ninja formed a few seals, seals similar to the transformation technique, before poofing into a cloud of smoke. The smoke dissipates to reveal, where once was Oki, instead was a second Debu! Bear mimicry technique used, the man now having the exact shape and size of his companion bear, it was time for his needlessly challenging way of approaching the mission to begin.

The tiny bear cub approached the mountain, grabbing it with his tiny paws. With a heave, he pulled himself forward, the real Debu staying behind, not interested at all in what the man was doing. Every second, every climb, was a challenge, tiny limbs finding it difficult and exhausting to grip the ledges. He looked up, eyes intent on finding what he was after. And lo and behold, there it was. The goat. Now to get ready to retrieve it. With a poof, the bear ninja transformed back into himself, hands gripping the rocks much more effortlessly now. Leaning down, he prepared, hoping to pull himself up with enough force that the momentum would take him to the goat. Five seconds passed. Then ten. On the fifteenth second, the man nodded to himself, pulling himself up as hard as he could, propelling himself upwards towards the goat. With a panicked bleat, the goat tried to move out of the way, but for it, it was too late. Oki grabbed the animal with an arm, pulling it close to his chest and holding it under his arm as if it was little more than a bag to carry.

Now propelling down the mountainside at a speed that was less than wanted, Oki had to act fast to stop himself from plummeting with a thud to the ground. He should probably have made a plan of how to do this, but the challenge was worth it! Deciding now was a good time to use the supernatural walking practise, he dug his heels into the mountain, gradually decreasing his speed as the combination of his heels and the supernatural walking practise acted like an anchor, stopping the large bulk of a man from hitting the ground. Nearly thrown off balance, and now facing skywards, back to the ground, Oki decided to be sensible, and show off. Walking backwards down the mountain, he eventually made it back to the ground, goat still in arm. Upon reaching the ground, Debu got up, ready to follow him to hand in the mission. Not that Debu was particularly fussed, but just that he didn’t feel like getting left behind as his big lug of a partner finished the day. And so, the furry friend, and his companion bear left to finish the job, and end the day.
