Kashizudoto

This was... interesting to say the least. Now that he had completed his task to deliver the Hokage's tidings as well as a latter from Lord Kenta himself to the Tsuchikage, Kashizudoto was looking for missions that a foreign shinobi could take while he was waiting for the arrival of Lord Hokage and his entourage - it was taking unusually long considering Lord Kenta's speed. Perhaps it was the genin tagging along that was slowing the group down. Speaking of genin, the mission that he ended up finding after a lot of perusing through the public mission dossier (there was also, he assumed, a private one with top secret missions in the Tsuchikage's room) entailed fighting the new graduating class from Iwa's ninja school at Iwa's underground stadium, Koudo Sutajiamu, to show them what real fighting was like. He was more than happy to take the mission, of course. What would be better for this mission than a foreign shinobi? It would really add to the authenticity of the battle, he figured. Besides, he really did want to help these students understand what fighting was like, even if they were from a different village. Why? Because he truly desired peace in the shinobi world, and true peace starts with harmony, where kids aren't off dying on missions because they didn't learn any better.

He walked into the lobby with what was his normal attire nowadays. It consisted of a black swordsman's robe - which he received from Master Piandao after his apprenticeship - accompanied with a Konoha hitae-ate tied around his forehead, a symbol of pride for his village. On his left hip was a bamboo sheath that held the Tentetsutou - a fine, onyx black blade that Kashizudoto forged directly from a four billion year old meteorite in the Dense Forest. Next to it was a coil of wire that totaled about 50 meters, helpful in stick situations, setting upo traps, and for extending the Dragon Fire Jutsu. Below both, on his left leg, was a holster containing basic projectiles: three shuriken and one kunai knife, nothing special.

"I've been sent to face the graduating class," said Kashizudoto to the stadium's receptionist, "Can you show me where to go?"

"A foreign shinobi, huh?" said the receptionist, surprised at the site of his headband, "It was always a tradition to make the graduating class fight the experienced shinobi here, but who knew that they'd bring in someone from Konoha to battle."

"DON'T YOU PULL ANY FUNNY BIZ', YA HEAR ME?" screamed an old man in the lobby who looked - frankly - like a drunk old pervert, "IF YOU MAIM THEM OR PULL ANY OTHER FOREIGN STUFF, I KEL YOU MAHSELF, YA HEAR ME!?" Surely, this senile man was a regular here, harassing the women working and spectating here alike. But what was more irritating than that was his clear nationalism. Just at the sight of someone with a different headband, he questioned the basic human decency of a stranger he'd never met. It was sad indeed.

He would enter the stage, with huge crowds booing the entrance of a Konoha shinobi and cheering upon the entrance of the class of twenty genin. it was a show for these people, but for the contestants, this was so much more. For Kashizudoto, this was about helping these kids understand the dangers ahead of them and protect themselves. For the kids, this was about learning from Kashizudoto, though they definitely didn't seem to realize it. Most of them snickered at the sight of a shinobi who was about their age about to take on twenty of them in battle. But he surely would show them that looks can be deceiving by defeating them and then giving them a hand up afterwards.

The genin drew their kunai knives. Kashizudoto would follow by drawing his Tentetsutou, which had an onyx black glimmer whose sheen even impressed the audience so much so that they held back from throwing tomatoes that they'd already bought plenty of in the stand. The newly promoted genin played the oldest trick in the book: they tried to surround their enemy, Kashizudoto, into submission. Of course, he wouldn't just let them do that; after all, he was an experienced chuunin, despite his age. First, he needed to scatter and isolate these people. The thing was: the stage was a flat layer of rock. Not to worry, Kashizudoto had just the jutsu to do this... He charged his palm with chakra and thrust it to the ground, causing a miniature earthquake on the stage and in the front rows of the audience and then literally breaking the stage into multiple pieces of rock. Now these genin were divided up into pockets of resistance on different platforms which he could deal with individually in an isolated setting. Five of the genin even got caught between the rock, nothing too major as they were just stuck but not hurt (if they were about to be crushed underneath a rock rather than trapped between, Kashizudoto would've noticed and intervened quickly to safely get them out).

He jumped up into the air to look at the new terrain that he'd created from a more broad perspective, dodging one kunai knife that got thrown at him in the process. So he'd divided the stage into five platforms, each with three genin. He gathered katon chakra in his throat and released it into a giant fireball that would hit all three genin at one platform - they were very cramped over there, so one technique would hit all of them. Now there were twelve genin to worry about. Due to his use of katon ninjutsu, his kekkei genkai activated - it heated up his sword with the power of the Will of Fire, making his next Bukijutsu strike much more potent.

On to the next platform; he would again gather katon chakra in his mouth and throat, releasing all of it into ten basketball-sized spheres of fire that would be able to hit all three genin, pushing them to the ground with  first degree burns. Now there were only nine more genin to deal with before victory. Meanwhile, the audience got rowdier, as they started cheering on their genin more violently. That only invigorized the remaining nine genin, whose partners had fallen but not their will. This was an excellent lesson so far.

He jumped into the air once again, determined the show the genin a little swordplay this time as he swooped to the next isolated platform with his katana, still shimmering onyx black, swinging in the air at the nearest genin, smacking him with the force of an A-rank weapon and delivering 3-inch cuts into his skin due to his kekkei genkai - this knocked him into one of his partners and disoriented the other one. Kashizudoto took advantage of this momentary distraction to perform a low sweep on the third genin, knocking him down face flat with 2 1/4-inch cuts on his shins. Ouch. Six genin to go; the audience only got more rowdy and energized, hoping for a miracle here. He backflipped into the next platform, ready to face the next three isolated genin.

Perhaps it was to show off or something, but he activated his kekkei genkai jutsu, the Sword of the Will - this coated his katana in a thick veil of fire, which would cause burns to anyone hit by him. The genin that he faced performed valiantly, much better than the others - working together to dodge his attacks and attack him with their kunai in unison. But something bigger was going on... Yes... They were stalling for their comrades to reach their platform.

Indeed, Kashizudoto would pick up with his ears three more genin from the upper platform ambushing him from the air with their kunai knives. A good effort indeed, but Kashizudoto simply slashed through all of them, dealing 2 1/4 inch cuts and third degree burns along the first inch, second degree burns to the next inch, and first degree burns to the next 1/4 inch, causing all three to cry in pain as they were thrown back by the force of his blade. Meanwhile, the final three genin - cheered on by the audience - made a final stand. But Kashizudoto would have to show them that they could not always win: the hard way.

He blocked all three kunai slashes with his great sword, still covered in katon chakra by the jutsu. As a shinobi, he could sense the fear in their eyes: they wanted to get over with this quick and painlessly. Feeling bad for them, Kashizudoto gave a reassuring smile as he made a low sweep with his leg rather than his sword as a final move - much less painful than a fiery sword, that was for sure.

The audience was outraged by both the dismal performance of their genin and the power of the foreign shinobi, proceeding to throw tomatoes at him AND the genin. Well, the mission was over, so - before any tomatoes could reach him - he vitalized his body with chakra and disappeared with the Body Flicker Technique, reappearing in Iwa's Administration Building to collect his reward.
