Kairyu

Kairyu

D-rank
Quite an interesting mission. This was the first mission Kairyu was on, and it involved convincing someone not to run. Not to become a nuke-nin. This was something quite interesting to him, as he could never see himself betraying the village he loved so much. It gave him access to new powers, knowledge, and strength. Everything to accomplish his goals and dreams. However, right now is not the time to think about stuff like that.

After receiving his mission from the mission board, Kairyu started reading its contents. The mission was given by the sister of the shinobi who wanted to leave. She was afraid he was actually going to do something like that, causing more strife in his family and probably too her as well. Kairyu didn't know if he was the right person for this mission- he was still very young, and had not experienced much. He chose this mission so he would be able to experience more about the world around him- being a farm boy didn't show him too much.

So, Kairyu knew that this would be a difficult mission. He needed to find this person. Although he never really trained to be a detective or anything, he was taught some things that would be easier to find people and places around the world. As a shinobi, it would be his mission to find out as much information as possible about this person, so that he is able to ground him as much as possible into the village. Kairyu also felt that if he just gave him a good pep talk, he would be able to keep the shinobi here, in this wonderful land.

Kairyu had an idea where to start- he figured that as a young teenager like he, the person would go straight for the food. Especially if he was about to leave the village, he would want to build sustenance to try and get some energy. As Kairyu walked around the city, he went to the closest food store. He needed to see if the store owner saw this person.

"Hey there! Just wondering, have you seen a genin around here that looks like this?", Kairyu asked the store owner, showing him the picture that the genin's sister has given him. Of course, the owner said no. It would take Kairyu a bit more detective work to find a semblance of this person anywhere in Kirigakure. But he knew he had to work fast, as this kid could leave at any second.

Kairyu left the store, thanking the owner of course. That was one lead lost. He figured he had to look somewhere else. If the person wasn't thinking about food, then perhaps he was thinking more about the sights in Kirigakure, a place where he would be able to think more about his decision. After exploring the city a bit more, and going into a couple more stores to make sure the shinobi never went in there, he decided to go to the outskirts of the city.

Kairyu traveled a bit further, reaching the outskirts. Here, few people were seen, besides the ones who were walking to their houses outside the city. Kairyu looked for anyone familiar, or anyone who looked shady. After a couple minutes of observing the people, he found the shinobi. It was someone around his age, with a cloak covering his head, to hide his face. Kairyu instantly knew it was him because he was acting strange, and he saw the glint of a headband.

Kairyu ran up to the man, and stopped him from moving, poking on his shoulder. He just wanted to talk for a bit, and he was hoping this wouldn't startle the person. Surprisingly, it did not. The person looked up at him with dark, sad eyes. It was someone who had no idea what they wanted or how to accomplish it.

"Hey! My name is Kairyu. I was sent to talk to you.", Kairyu said. The shinobi looked at him, nodding, as if expecting the young genin. Kairyu looked him up and down, and recognized that he brought nothing with him. He was unarmed, and the person was just walking around.

"Hi.", the shinobi said back to Kairyu, awkwardly standing. His eyes shifted downwards, not wanting to look in the other shinobi's eyes.

"I'm supposed to be asking you to stay here... but never mind that. Why do you want to leave so bad?", Kairyu asked the shinobi, wanting to hear the story from him.

"I'm not strong... I can't be a shinobi here. I'll just get everyone killed.", the shinobi said, tears welling up in his eyes. His right hand started moving towards his left arm, gripping it as if in pain. He started shaking as well, as if the words that left his mouth truly scared him.

Kairyu couoldn't think of anything to say. It was interesting to see the other side of the coin. Kairyu did not feel he was strong at all at the moment. But, he had the fire, the ambition to become the strongest, no matter what it took. All he could do at the moment was just hug the shinobi. The feelings portrayed were positive ones. They were not forceful, nor were they anything more then positivity.

"Then rely on me. On us. We are a village for a reason. We have the will to propel us forward, regardless of what it takes to accomplish that. As your fellow shinobi, I can absolutely say for certain that I will be there for you as much as possible. We are in this together. If you cannot protect, I can.", Kairyu said, smiling after looking the person in the face. He hugged him again, and just started walking away, as he saw the shinobi cry a lot more, falling to the ground in tears. He knew he changed the shinobi's life, and walked home.

The next day came, and the sister reported the shinobi came back home, and was training again with newfound ambition. It seemed Kairyu did indeed touch him emotionally in the end. Kairyu was happy, and was ready to turn the mission in as a success. His first mission, it was successful.
