Kokai wasn't entirely sure what convinced him to go wandering the bazaar that night. Perhaps because it was already a cold breeze outside and people were bundled up enough he probably wouldn't bother them with some shopping. At least that had been the plan originally. He wasn't so sure it was cold enough anymore as he looked around. People would suddenly shiver and clutch themselves as he approached before looking around. It must of been an odd thing for them to experience such a sensation in the dead of summer. He figured his clan had servants for the summer and only went shopping in the winter when he was being housed within the compound. After all the training and experimental facility had provided for them everything they needed from a bunk bed to a warm meal three times a day. Training regiments had been rough but now he was on his own. He still rose from his bed at dawn and made it with the correct folds and no wrinkles. Preformed his morning work out and stretches before he would hit the shower and eat a balanced meal. All of those habits having stuck with him. But now he needed to pay for his own food. To go and collect his own meals. So for the time being the people around the market could suck it up and deal with him being around them. He needed to eat to and until he was making enough ryo he would have to be buying the ingredients himself.

Still he was moving about the streets and browsing the wares down to the more slum side of the market. The cheaper foods were of lower quality but affordable. His dark hair shifted in the breeze as his red eyes scanned the wares. The shop keeper would blink at the brilliant crimson of them before swallowing and looking away. Aside from Kokai's pale face however he was wearing his golden yellow hoody with the hood down and gloves on. Dark pants under that with the hoody hanging down in front of his crotch as it was a little large. He had a kunai tucked into his combat boots and a roll of senbon in a pouch on his belt. He wasn't one for missing out on being armed. His clan had enemies after all and he didn't have his parents to protect him. Nor his clan for that matter after the incident. Still the fruits and vegetables were affordable at least. And fresh in a way. For now he purchased his tomatoes and a couple of orange looking hybrid fruit. However he moved away from that stand over to one selling meat and rice and began to browse it when he heard a commotion behind him. Part of him was ready to ignore it but still he couldn't keep to himself entirely. His curiosity was to great so with a sigh his head tilted to the side and he shifted to look behind himself. Gazing across the street with a bored expression to a bar. More of a hole in the wall.

By a hole in the wall he clearly meant a litteral hole in a wall. It didn't have a door so much as it appeared a sliding set of bars would slide closed when the bar itself was closed at night. He could smell the scent of cigars and booze from where he stood but that wasn't to suprising. He was attuned to attending to his senses and identifying useful smells. Knowing when a target had been drinking was optimal as a skill when it came to theiving or assassination. Knowing movement patterns shifted and one could get away with a more careless approach without being identified. Still for the moment that didn't appear to be the issue. Instead three idiots were having a shoving match and had already managed to break a stool and knock over a table. It appeared one had spilled beer on another. The guy who had spilled it wasn't apologizing and the man he had spilled it on was angry. No suprise there. However another drunk had tried to get in the middle of it and make the other two back down with his stature and had gotten hit at some point. A bruise forming on his left eye showing that. Now it was an all out brawl and it was spreading away from the bar. A tug on his sleeve drove him back to the stand he was at as the young lady there looked at him and spoke.

"When I finish wrapping your order...if you handle that I will give it to you at a discount. You seem capable to me...momma always said I could tell."

Kokai would simply sigh before he would nod. Drunks were an easy enough target but he needed to avoid being to noticable this early into his career. Even if he was stopping something from getting out of hand he was avoiding anything that could be considered vile or rude within the village. A suspension from his shinobi career would not be benificial. Still he would handle any situation a citizen asked of him. His meat and rice coming at a discount would be benificial to his wallet anyway. Still his crimson eyes looked into hers as he quietly wondered just how she could tell his potential at a glance. He was well covered and his weapons hidden from view. If she had that kind of talent then working in the market might be a waste. His eyes met hers and she didn't shrink away. Instead she stared back just as intentionally before he finally looked to the side. A pale finger under a dark glove pointing at some jerky in a jar before he spoke up. A smile on his face as he noted the teryaki Jerky sticks placed there for just a few ryo a stick. May as well try and barter while he could.

"Throw in three of those and the discount of ten percent and we have a deal."

She would hesitate as now she was losing money. Not much as he was basically having her lose her profit margin and taxes on her goods. Her eyes shifted passed him as the fight progressed through another nearby stand and set a chicken free out of its cage. They were drawing closer and getting more violent by the sound of it. She didn't have a lot of time to barter with him and it was somewhat more affordable than having to close down for repairs and lost product. She glanced back at him and noted he hadn't even bothered to look back at the commotion so close behind him. It was clear he was fine with paying and leaving her to her woes as the men were excitable enough to wreck her whole stand. He wasn't so much exploiting her as taking her up on an offer and defining the terms but still he had the advantage. With a sigh she would nod in reluctance and cross her arms. Speaking in an irritated tone.

"Fine...but don't destroy anything. I won't pay for damages."

He smiled at the confirmation before he would bow his head to her. She seemed to be surprised at the sudden polite gesture but shrugged it off and waited until he moved towards the group to begin to wrap his order. Mumbling under her breath about how men should simply be men and handle such things without having to be asked to. What ever happened to chivalry for a girl? That all meant very little to Kokai though as he turned and moved towards the fight and did so in a slow walk so as not to draw attention. If he rushed them, even drunk they would notice him before he was on top of them and put up defenses. However a slow approach on a target was different. Remain a harmless bystander until the last moment. Avoid any notice and eye contact was no bueno. The less of a noticable figure one was before they striked the more effective the sudden onset of pain afflicted was. With a single target it was harder to accomplish but easier to take down. Especially if he had been allowed to take them down hard. However he wouldn't be doing that in the open market anyway.

This situation was different though. His eyes shifted between three men of varied builds and alcohol levels in their system. Three targets of variable ability and inebriation, none noticing the approach and all approaching exhaustion and injury from recent and current engagements. Rules of engagement dictated he used the element of surprise appropriately and take down the largest threat first. Out of the three the one the element of surprise would be best used on was the big one currently winning. He was slow but he was the most sober and holding his own better than the other two. He had also been the cause of the most damage to the area so stopping his progress was priority one. Once he struck that one down mob mentality though would probably have the other two immediatly turn on him. He would have to act fast and hit harder in order to take down one before that happened. After that he would have the advantage in stability and stamina but be outnumbered. He couldn't play the long game without more damage being caused so he would need to take all three down quickly. Luckily his martial arts was good for that.Even if he was a novice he was capable of this simple job.

Finally Kokai had approached them close enough to lash out. The big one noticed him as a little closer than he had expected but at the last moment which was too late. Kokai wasted zero time as soon as he had been noticed and launched forward. The big man barely had time to release the shirt of the one he was holding before Kokai was on top of him. A quick jab with the hand to the mans throat made him choke before repeated and rapid blows rained down in a line down his chest, gut and inner thigh before hitting the side of the knee and dropping him before a spinning elbow brought to the mans face brought him down. His other arm raised at a jab from one of the other two quick to reply. However the arm raising was straight forward and forced the jab to be a glancing blow off his arm instead of just a direct hit. With that blow off to the side Kokai grabbed the man by the back of his head and moved backwards with him with repeated blows to the face with his free hand over and over again until he went limp.

The last one managed to grab him in a head lock from behind making Kokai choke a little and growl before he reached down and wrapped a hand behind the mans knee and lifted him off balance before pushing off the ground himself. Taking them both to the ground with a slam that released the head lock. Kokai would then slam his elbow down three times into the mans gut before flipping over and giving a deliberate jab to the nose. Seeing as all three were out now he sighed. His hands hurt a little but that didn't matter much. With that done he would dust himself off as he rose to his feet and let out a sigh of victory with a smile. A small applause sounded from the show but he could only smirk before moving back over to the shop. With that done he payed the young lady what he owed her and collected his groceries all in two bags before popping a jerky stick into his mouth and going about his day.
