Kokai was laying on his bed with the sheets still folded under him and staring at the roof. He had just showered so the heater was running next to him. It's orange glow the only light in the room aside from the dim light through the sheet over the window from the morning glow. His morning work out was already done but he had no plans for the day. Instead he sat there in his boxers and let his muscles ease out and the water dry off in the comfortable heat. His aura kept at bay for now as he watched the ceiling. The orange glow of the heater playing in his eyes like watching a flame as he watched the bumpy white ceiling as if waiting for it to move. To shift and attack him or something and relieve him of his boredom. Too young to drink, no one to fight, training was getting dull and his mind was numb.

His hand rose up to show the ipod in his hand. With the press of a button the screen lit up his pale features as he hit the next button. Turn me on mr. Deadman turning into light up the sky abruptly as he did so. The music playing in his ears as he clicked another button and the screen darkened again. THe orange glow replacing it as his crimson eyes lit ablaze again. He was irritated with being bored but at least the music was energetic. Perhaps he would go for a run today if only to build up some endurance. Breathing exercises and taijutsu practice were also on the agenda he supposed. All of which he could do at once. Of course it would be a relief in a few moments when his doorbell would ring. Who could be coming to the assisted housing to see him? None of the clan obviously...a case worker? At least the inspection would pass. He kept a clean house. Even his dishes from the morning were cleaned and stacked to dry.

Kokai would rise to his feet and move away from the heater. Hitting the button on top as he passed it in case he had to leave his apartment in a hurry. still he grabbed a pair of pants on his way out of his room from a hanger and slipped into them in a kind of hopping motion one leg at a time as he left his room and moved to the door. An irritated eye twitch as the doorbell rang again. They could have some patience. It was the crack of dawn after all. Still he managed to get his pants on by the time he reached the door. Silently he peaked out the eye hole in order to determine if he was going to open the door. Seeing a young man standing there looking annoyed but wearing a head band he rose an eye brow. Odd but he supposed he could open the door for a shinobi.

Quietly he moved his pale fingers up and undid the two door latches before opening the door about a foot and gazing out with crimson eyes. He could tell the guy was cold by how he held himself suddenly and glared at Kokai. The young man rose up a hand and held out a slip of paper before Kokai cautiously took it. It was folded in thirds with a Iwa seal on it but before Kokai could speak the kid shunshined out of the area. Must of had better things to do the impatient little prick. Not even a good morning eh? Rude. Still Kokai would close the door and move to the kitchen before flicking on a light and glancing at the clock. Eight in the morning. It was time to go and do something anyway. Even if he wasn't excited for the day he could at least be proactive. Hopefully the letter would give him an idea for something to do.

With the young man gone and the cold setting back in Kokai opened the document provided and scanned its contents. It appeared to be a job offer for the day or rather a simple request from the village. He was familiar with the fact that the village had recently come out of a pit of despair as his own situation was provided to him from the governments anti homeless goals. He payed rent from a percentage of his paychecks from the village and it appeared the village wanted to get paid. So they had a job for him. He almost smirked at the simplicity of it. They wanted him to run deliveries of rations to the needy at the hospital. Hell he could understand the need to eat but it felt beneath him. He had skills he could put to use and training he could do before he went out and played charity delivery.

Still it wasn't a huge deal. He had time to go out and do something and getting paid was a bonus. He needed gear anyway so for the time being he wouldn't complain. If anything this just gave him purpose to his run with a goal in mind. The pick up location was three kilometers from his home, and the hospital was one kilometer back in his direction. A six kilometer run with one kilometer having weights added was a reasonable work out. More so if he was getting paid enough to add to his arm guard fund. He would sigh and fold the letter before setting it on the counter and glancing at the clock. He could make the pick up time but he only had ten minutes before he had to leave. It was time to get dressed and gear up. He doubted anyone would interact violently with him but he didn't like being unarmed. On top of that he was going to need to wear his head band since it was official business. He was on a mission as a genin of the village after all.

With a sigh Kokai retreated back to his room. He could feel the cold setting in and tensing his body up once more. He didn't shiver anymore or let his teeth chatter as being borned surrounded by it had made him grow accustomed to the feeling. As a child they had surrounded them in heat to protect them but gradually the clan made all their children grow accustomed to the cold they created. They had to in order to survive. At first the cold had been ever present and maddening but now it was just another discomfort. Still he wouldn't pay it a whole ton of mind as he found his way into his room. Slipping into his golden hoody and letting its warmth flow over him before finding a pair of black socks and finally slipping into and lacing up his combat boots. His kunai he slipped into an ankle holster and his senbon into a pouch on his belt. Finally his headband he slipped over his neck loosely and tied it in the back. He had work to do so he wouldn't waste more than a few minutes getting ready. Still as he was satisfied with his clothing he moved to the entry way.

Once there Kokai collected his keys and wallet from the shelf there. His keys in a bowl and his wallet next to it. He lived alone so he just kept his necessities next to the door. With that done he stepped outside and turned to close the door behind himself. Placing the key into the lock and turning it until it clicked twice for both locks. With that done he slipped the keys into his right pants pocket and turned to head out of the apartment complex. Heading down the stairs to the street with his hands in his hoody. He clicked his ipod on and began his jog. Picking up the pace as he hit the main street and ran along the sidewalk. Avoiding people with ease and ignoring their irritation at the shocking and sudden cold as he approached and passed. Not like he could really help it. Still he moved down the road at a brisk pace and towards the destination marked in the letter. He knew the food bank well enough but he was still feeling like it was beneath him. Either way he used his irritation to pick up the pace some more and put the pressure on his muscles and lungs to keep going for the entire run. If he was going to be conceited he could run it off. No need to be an asshole he admitted to himself as he prepared to help the needy.

It took him about an hour to get his run done and he was a little tired as he jogged into the food bank. Luckily there was some wait for the moment as there was several dozen genin there with very similar missions. Though his was the only one directly to the hospital. Part of him wondered if they were concerned he might steal from someones home that was too broke to feed themselves but he let that notion go quickly. Instead he focused on catching his breath and stretching out his muscles. He was given some water by an attendant while he waited that understood they would be doing some running before he moved forward in line. It took a minute but finally he made it to the front and was asked to sign for his package. Once his signature hit paper he was told what room he was bound for and handed a heavy backpack full of canned foods and wished a good day. He nodded in return before leaving on his mission much to the relief of everyone stuck in that room with him for so long. Warmth returning to their bones as he went running to his next destination.

It only took him a little bit to reach the hospital but with the added weight it was a work out at the same pace as normal. He had some sweat soaking his body as he reached the location and jogged in through the main entrance. A flash of his head band was enough to get him through the door without signing in and he moved up to the third floor. He reached the door to find a woman and her child asleep with the woman in the bed hooked up to an IV and looking pale and the kid curled up next to her. His heart felt for them at the sight but he could tell his aura was chilling them as they curled in tighter. With a sigh of regret at the cold aura he set the back pack down in the chair and turned. Leaving without a word and with the warm regards of the village. His run home was less tiring and irritating and more filled with thought and a smile. He actually felt like he had done some good today even if it was without any thanks. The pay for it was just a bonus. Get some food of his own with that and put some aside for the arm guards.
