Mission:

The rattle of a chain sounded out in the abandoned streets of the Sunagakure no Sato market district. Accompanying that sound were the soft steps of a man echoing from sandstone to loose sand, almost indistinct against a slight wind that blew through. The man was wearing shoulder-length raven hair back in a ponytail, his bangs being left to be swept out of his eyes over his eyebrows. His attire was a jet black netted training shirt, with matching black training tights. He wore black shinobi tabi and his normal black sandals, to tie everything together. In the midsection he wore a belt that had the Sunagakure symbol on a piece of metal upon it. This was obviously a modified version of the forehead protector ninjas got upon graduating from the academy. Upon his back was slung a large gunbai, with a rope wrapped around his chest keeping it diagonally splayed and ready for when he needed it.  In his right hand he held the hilt to a Kusarigama, the chain seemingly shortened to a manageable length, being held at such a length using a clasp on a cuff around his wrist, the chain rattling faintly to cause the slight noise one would hear every so often as he walked.

This man was Sasijimi. He had been out of action for a while but was finally making a reappearance to try making his way up the shinobi ladder once more. He had missed his chance at Kazekage but would still become powerful and missions such as the one he was assigned. He was to investigate reports of Sand Pirates making their way into the village hidden in the sand. A few reports had led him to believe they were having meetings somewhere in the market district during the later hours of the night and that's exactly what he was out her to confirm. Now all he had to do was await the contact that the Kazekage had assigned to the mission alongside him. As he was only a genin he would need the guidance of a senior ranking ninja on this mission to ensure success and or safety.

The sound of the desert crickets was a common thing within the Kaze no Kuni. Even within the village's high and protective walls, their symphony could be heard in the dead of the night. Albeit, only faintly. Many of the village's inhabitants, including most shinobi, were within their homes and sound asleep. Not many were given missions that were supposed to be done so late in the night. This was one of those few. Silently moving amongst the rooftops was a giant figure. If one's eyesight was keen enough to see through the darkness of the waxing moon, they could see that his skin was a dark grey, and that he bore claws along with fangs. He wore nothing but a simple pair of black shorts and a Sunagakure headband tied to his right bicep. Despite his large size, he moves gracefully and silently in the cloak of night. His mission was to find meet up with another ninja, a genin, and investigate all this talk about sand pirates in the city.

With a term like "sand pirates", he failed to see any sort of threat in this, but he decided to go along and do the mission. He needed the money anyway and was getting bored. His white and black eyes scanned the streets below, knowing his teammate would be in the Market District. He eventually caught sight of a lone man. A gunbai was on his back. Kusarigama in hand. Belt buckle had Suna's symbol. He matched the description nicely. With a simple leap, the monstrous giant leap from the building he was on and within a mere second, landed in-front of the man. His weight made an audible "thud" noise and a slight tremor within the ground. He stood straight, revealing his massive height of 8 feet and 9 inches. His monstrous visage directly contrasted the other man's. Putting his claws into his pockets and slouching his form every so slightly, he spoke in a hushed yet cool voice. "Yo."

"Yo."

That was all he heard from the gargantuan man that landed in front of him with a thud. If this was a stealth mission, that sound would be a problem. He sighed a bit and rubbed his temples, before allowing his golden flecked green hues to trace over the stature and appearance of his new companion. Sasijimi thought for a moment and rubbed his chin while looking around, hoping that what they were looking for would be apparent. They were looking for evidence of sand pirates or to prove true the rumors of sand pirates. Well, something like that. Whatever they were doing it didn't seem like they were getting it done very quickly. There was no sign of pirates, swords, tracks in the sand, or really anything to tip off that anyone had been through this area of the market district recently. Sasijimi was almost convinced this was a prank someone turned into a mission.

"I'm Sasijimi, nice to meet you. I'm completely unsure if we're going to find anything. This all seems like a prank someone was playing. I mean, come on. Sand Pirates?"

OOC: Sorry it's so short I wasn't sure how far to go with this since we're just investigating rumours.

Zaiaku couldn't help but roll his eyes as his saw the younger shinobi rub his temples and heard him sigh. Even if the rumor of the Sand Pirates was true, it was nothing he couldn't handle. Same went for the genin. Even then...that was if these "Sand Pirates" were even real. Without much more thought into it, his eyes went to the genin as he began to speak, introducing himself. Sasijimi was his name, and he seemed to have similar thoughts on the whole "Sand Pirate" ordeal. "Zaiaku," The giant would say as a means to introduce himself, "and yeah, it just seems so stupid. They insisted on usin' the word Sand Pirate as well. Not bandit. Not brigand. Not marauder. Sand Pirate." Honestly, even if they were real, what threat do they pose? Honestly, a normal man doesn't know how to use a sword or something? With a sigh, Zaiaku would take his hands out of his pockets and fold his arms, looking around the abandoned the market stalls. "Wanna just search for a bit or do you wanna ask around?"

ooc: Its alright. Sorry for the short post AND taking so long. We recently found out some family is gonna be living with us for a extended period of time, plus school started. I'm gonna try to be more efficient about posting though.

"Might as well just search for a bit. It's pretty late and I doubt many people would be out and about for us to just interrogate."

Sasijimi yawned a bit and made his way down the street once more. He would saunter a bit, checking in between stalls and alleyways, his hand twirling the kusarigama it held. There had to be some sort of truth to this rumor, right? After all, how would they know that the pirates could use Iron-fist style? Or was that simply just a part of their facade? With all these questions in mind, Sasijimi hardly noticed the shadow running past one of the stalls in front of him. It moved quickly, and didn't exactly look that dangerous. Nonetheless Sasijimi darted after the shadow, whistling out to his partner who couldn't be far behind. It's strange, the shadow looked about the size of a child, but maybe it was just the darkness playing tricks on his eyes. Regardless, Sasijmi wasn't going to let whoever this was get away. As he ran after the shadow, darting between stalls and dodging falling debris from the quarry throwing down garbage cans and carts, he noticed another shadow, this one much larger running parallel to  the one he was chasing. There was some sort of truth to this rumor after all wasn't there? With a quick hand motion, he pointed out the other figure and whistled. "There!"

After he called out the second shadow, the two broke off and went in different directions. His quarry went left and the other went right. Without a moment's thought he continued the chase, noting that they were avoiding the main site of the market district and going around it completely. Something strange was going on here and Sasijimi still wasn't convinced this was anything more than a prank. Otherwise, wouldn't the two have decided to attack them, then and there? Curious.

The lumbering giant would fall into step with Sasijimi, keeping his eyes peeled for anything that can be denoted as the words "Sand" and "Pirate". He wasn't really in the mood for any foolishness at that point. In-fact, he was quite eager to see if these Pirates were real. After all, it would give Zaiaku something to alleviate his frustration. It wouldn't be long for his wish to be granted, as Zaiaku ran after Sasijimi upon seeing him run. His whistling on made it more apparent that they were onto something. He would be right at Sasijimi's side, dodging all of the things thrown at them by their unknown suspect. There was more to it, however. Upon Sasijimi's pointing it out, Zaiaku noticed another a shadow. A bigger one who matched the little one's speed before the two split into opposite directions. The young genin would continue following the small shadow, though Zaiaku was not so hasty. As he would turn to follow the large shadow he would do a certain hand sign, causing a second Zaiaku that would poof right beside him. The Clone would then run in the direction of Sasjimi, easily catching up with him as Zaiaku focused at the task at hand: Chasing a big shadow.
