A while had passed between today and his last mission, though the last one had been able to settle his restlessness quite a bit, that Seiryū had felt no immediate need to go back out in to the field unless truly necessary. Today was different. This wasn’t necessarily a mission, not one he would be paid for, but it was not a detriment to him to accept it either. It was a fairly simple task that was given to him, one that he could easily accomplish. Hell, even a freshly graduated shinobi could do the overall task that had been given to Seiryū. He wouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth and deny the opportunity to stretch out his legs more, especially one that provided him with the opportunity of leaving the village without having to provide a more exceptional reason. Seiryū’s task was simple, retrieve a woman who went by the name of Takayama Mayuko. He was not personally acquainted with the person, nor had he seen her picture prior to today, but the information provided to him narrowed down his search quite a bit.

Knowing that the person he was supposed to escort in to the village was female cut down the search by quite a bit, though the additional details that were included made it seem that locating her would be far easier than he initially had assumed. After all, finding a lady with purple hair wouldn’t be too difficult, he assumed. Her eye colour matched her hair, as far as the slip of paper had told him. Lastly, the woman would be fairly shorter than him, by half a foot at least. While he had never seen or met the woman before, the small amounts of details provided to him would certainly help him in narrowing down his search and finding the right person. It wasn’t too difficult to pick out the one person he was looking for – with purple hair and eyes – out of the few people that roamed the outskirts of the village and even few who would be located by the meeting cactus.

Seiryū, while he was close to the village and would feel no immediate threat, still brought his equipment with him, purely for the precautionary of himself and Takayama-san. His bow was strapped to his quiver which held his arrows. His senbon and kunai were located on his person as well. Seiryū wasn’t ready to take the risk of being caught in a situation where he wasn’t able to defend himself. Had this been inside the village walls, his cautionary air would’ve been far less than they currently were, but alas he had to head towards the Meeting Cactus to escort Takayama Mayuko back to the village.

Clad in the casual clothing of a light-gray t-shirt and khakis, only to be finished off with simple brown and white shoes, Seiryū’s full attire didn’t give off the appearance of a shinobi – he even lacked wearing the headband – though his visible weaponry would give one the impression of his occupation, or as an adventurer. It didn’t matter, as he just had to find one person and head back to the village with her in tow. He was soon greeted by the sight of the one cactus that stood out from the rest. That was where he would find her.

A soft, barely audible whimper escaped through tightly pursed lips. Keiko perched like a practiced gymnast on an old, worn down fence, with just barely enough shade from a pitiful nearby tree to shield the kunoichi from the ever blazing sun. Her left hand hovered over her right shoulder, where a glaring red spot was festering so hatefully, a thin film of skin rimming the open wound. Blistering heat was a suitable adjective indeed, considering the fact that the hideous pocket of water had just popped, and was now open to all sorts of infections. With a shark intake of breath, she channeled a delicate balance of fūton and suiton chakra to manifest the element that was most second-nature to an Aisu like herself. The cool air meeting the fresh skin was the cause of the embarrassing sound that escaped from her, but immediately she could feel herself relaxing as her medical skills - in addition to the hyōton chakra - kicked in. It would be a while longer before the burn fully healed, but Keiko didn't waste any more time nursing herself. She had things to do.

Dressed in a pair of tan jean shorts and a light pink tank top, it was evident how she got herself that burn. It had been months since her arrival to Sunagakure, and despite the heat and sun, she still remained as pale as ever. And when people didn't tan ... they burned. To be quite honest, Keiko had once believed that due to her body's naturally lower temperature, it would help her remain cool in the hot and arid environment that was the Land of the Wind. However, that quickly proved not to be the case. As time passed, the heat began taking a physical toll on her, much to her chagrin. But it had been nearly a month now since she made her discovery of the Medicinal Greenhouse and found a reason to stay in Sunagakure. And since then, the kunoichi found that she was pushing herself more and more to brave the heat and get out there to learn as much as she could from this village. Though she had to admit ... she was doing more playing and exploring than addressing her original reason for coming here - training.

A concern for another day, she supposed. Today, Kanoko-san had informed her that the flower on the giant cactus that everyone dubbed "The Meeting Cactus" was going to bloom once more. Supposedly it was a rare event, and so Keiko was determined to witness it herself. It was still a bit early - the estimated time was two hours from now - and so as she closed to distance between herself and the giant cactus that loomed over the horizon, she realized that there weren't many people gathered around. Either she was way too early, or people were so used to seeing the flower bloom that it didn't really strike them as a great sight to behold any longer. Adjusting her wide-brim sun hat, she squinted to try and see the flower bud without blinding herself in the sun's rays. Her hair was tied up into a bun and tucked under the hat, with just a few loose wisps of magenta dangling free. Keiko used to hate wearing hats, but had discovered that it was a necessity if she wanted to keep her face from melting off.

His stomach growled slightly, evidence that Seiryū was still lacking having taken his midday meal, seeing as how it was already an hour and a half past noon. With the time being roughly 1:30 pm and the arranged meeting time being at 1:45 pm, Seiryū had figured it was best to arrive early in case the purple haired woman had arrived early. The sun’s harsh rays did little to his skin, having grown with them being a constant presence in his day to day life. His own skin was only slightly tanned from the very object that brought light to the world, though appearances hadn’t been on the top of his priorities when it came to how he was living his life currently. There were far more things for him to be concerned about than his own physical appearance. Seiryū had swept his hair back like usual, being a tidy mess with strands of hair choosing to go in random directions in unpurposeful clumps. Running his right hand through his tresses to get the ones lingering near his eyes out of the way, Seiryū watched the cactus as its features began to become even more apparent to his very own eyes.

His eyes scanned the surroundings of the vicinity, taking in the features of the cactus, people, and inanimate objects that each had a respectable distance from one another. There were a couple of groups forming of a few individuals, no more than five, yet the majority of the couple dozen people here seemed to be loitering on their own waiting for someone or something. Seiryū quickly went through the people, eliminating the one of group of males instantly. He figured that Mayuko-san would be on her own, seeing as he wasn’t told about her being with a retinue, nor did he figure she would needed added, but unnecessary, additions to make the quick travel over to the village itself. Thus, the other couple of groups were quickly eliminated as well. His eyes darted over to a single female that was perched upon a fence that had seen far better days. Her hand had been hovering over her shoulder, yet his sharp eyes darted towards her features to distinguish if she was whom he had been sent to retrieve.

Seiryū’s eyes took note of what she was doing while he did a quick assessment of her. The hair and eyes were difficult to tell due to the hat she was currently wearing and her hair having been put up and the pigmentation hidden by the shade of the hat as well. It seemed she was… healing herself? Was she utilizing some form of water to attend to her wounds? Why? Had she been attacked on her way to Sunagakure no Sato? Her height seemed to match up to the description he received, though from his current perspective he wasn’t even sure if he could correctly assume her height either. Knowing there was no other way about it other than to get closer or to simple call out to her, Seiryū began to make his way toward her calmly. There was no need for him to rush anywhere, seeing as how Mayuko would either be here already or not. If she wasn’t, it was just a matter of waiting longer. If it was Mayuko, then his job was practically over. Stepping closer, he only caught a glimpse of her eyes and they seemed to match up with the description he had recorded mentally. The hair became a bit more apparent, the shade it provided her gave him the sense it was a purple, albeit dark due to the hat itself. It was probably her. As he neared and was a few feet away from her, Seiryū would call out gently, “Takayama Mayuko? I’ve been sent to escort you to through the village gates.”

Keiko had never been fond of strangers. She wasn't all that interested in approaching people, especially when she didn't want or need something from them. And so as she left her perch on the fence and began moving towards the cactus at a slow, leisurely pace, she ignored the people around her, most of which already had their own companions. Inwardly grimacing as she spotted a lively couple displaying way too much public physical affection, she shifted her gaze back to the cactus momentarily. However, another movement caught her attention as she realized there was someone making a beeline towards her, moving with clear intent. What was it now? She definitely do not recognize him, nor could she recall doing anything that would warrant someone coming after her.

Taking her time to assess him, she stood still, head and body still aligned forward to face the cactus. Her eyes were the only indication that she had acknowledged his presence, tracking his movement as he came closer. He was dressed casually, with a bow quite obviously indicating that he wasn't simply here to observe the blooming of the rare cactus flower. Mentally kicking herself for not bringing any of her own weapons with her, Keiko waited until the man stopped, taking note that he gave her a relatively safe distance between them. “Takayama Mayuko? I’ve been sent to escort you to through the village gates.”

Oh. He clearly had mistaken her for someone else. Someone ... either important, or under surveillance, considering his choice of words. His tone was soft-spoken, but Keiko detected caution in his tone. And she couldn't overlook the fact that he was indeed carrying weapons. Having weapons didn't necessarily mean this man was capable of using it on people, but that was something she couldn't guarantee. Well, that was none of her business, and obviously since she wasn't the right person, there was no need for her to go with him. And Keiko, being the socially difficult person that she was, didn't bother trying to clear up the misunderstanding. Instead, eyes narrowed at the stranger who seemed not much older than she was, she simply said, "No." Immediately following her curt answer, she turned and began walking away, not waiting to see the man's reaction. In her mind, he would figure it out his mistake and make himself scarce. As unreasonable as that was, she didn't stop to think about how she might have rectified the situation right away and prevent any further issues from occurring. But such was the way of Keiko, confusing by nature.

It was fairly simple for Seiryū to figure out this was the person he was looking for, as he could now make out her features far more clearly. Her hair matched the description and now that he had gotten a better look at her eyes, they as well were another box for Seiryū to check off mentally. Now that they stood face to face, it was clear for Seiryū to see that she indeed matched the height that he had been provided as well. Those three factors along with the name were all Seiryū was given, as well as where to meet her, and this was the only person here who matched the description provided to him by the administration office.

The female before him wasn’t armed like he was, or at least there wasn’t any visible weaponry on the person, but he’d seen her use chakra earlier. Medical chakra to be more precise. Seiryū’s knowledge on it was limited to the few times he had been on the receiving end of medical ninjutsu, and all those occasions could be counted on both of his hands. Suffice to say, Seiryū wasn’t much of an expert or the most knowledgeable person when it came to the art of healing and less so when it came to using medical ninjutsu for offensive purposes. While his overall goal was to help people, for his own selfish reason to make up for his own past, medical ninjutsu simply never seemed to fit in the overall picture for the bastard Kōga.

The decisive "No." he received as an answer would have agitated – it did slightly – yet Seiryū showed little to no sign of that specific state. He knew how to prevent his body from giving away specific tells and this was certainly the case where his agitation was concerned. It would not be appropriate for Seiryū to offend the woman, but he simply couldn’t return to the village empty handed, or rather without bringing back the woman that simply needed to attend to a matter of importance regarding trade between her company and the village of Sunagakure no Sato. He hadn’t moved a step or reacted as she initially turned away and began making her way towards the Meeting Cactus. An idle thought passed by him as the name of the dry desert plant came up once more. Someone honestly should have come up with a better name than the ‘Meeting Cactus’.

Ignoring whatever though he had about the name for the plant, Seiryū’s steps followed after the woman, as he was not going to return to the village without the woman in tow. Seiryū didn’t want to use force, but if the matter came down to it, he would. Simply put, he would accomplish the task no matter what, though he’d hope things wouldn’t have to escalate to the ropes of physical struggles. Reaching out with his right hand, Seiryū would go to place it upon her right shoulder in an attempt to stop her from leaving. The village had a meeting arranged with her and he wasn’t about to let her simply walk away from here. “Takayama-san, you will be going to the village. The meetings already been arranged and you simply cannot cancel it. If I have to, I will personally carry you back to the village.” While most men would take some form of pleasure in carry a woman – having her within their hands – it simply wasn’t Seiryū. That pleasure, desire, whatever one wants to call it, simply wouldn’t come to him. It was something he did not deserve. Regardless, that notion wouldn’t apply here, as it was his duty to take her to the village.

A singular cloud passed over them and in a brief moment, the sky darkened ever so slightly, shielding the people below from the bright rays of the high afternoon sun. Momentary relief that lasted for only a few heartbeats, but set into motion a curious thought. Did it ever rain in Sunagakure? As far as she could recall during her time here, never once had there been enough precipitation for her to consider as rain. It was always, always stifling dry. Looking at the cactus, she had to admit that she did feel some admiration for the plant life here - the fact that they were able to thrive despite the minimal amounts of water they were exposed to was something to applaud.

Keiko had once complained about the humidity that was Kirigakure's one and only constant, but in retrospect, having her hair frizz up as a result of the moisture really wasn't a huge concern. Here, in addition to her hair constantly smelling of wind and sand, the dryness affected just about everything else ... including her mood. What was that saying ... something about not knowing what you have until it's gone. It wasn't as though she couldn't go back. Getting out of Sunagakure and back to her own village would be much easier than her journey here, but she was still stuck on the idea of wanting to challenge and improve herself in ways that only the Land of the Wind could provide to her.

He was clearly following her. As she walked, she kept an eye on the stranger that had approached her, wanting to ensure that he would truly realize his mistake and go off to find whoever this Takayama Mayuko was. But as she realized he was now shadowing her steps, her doubts increased. Who was this person he was looking for, and why was he so insistent on bringing her with him? Was he truly looking for a Takayama-san, or was that an alias suddenly placed onto Keiko herself? His hand reached out to rest on her shoulder, and it took everything she had not to resist right away. “Takayama-san, you will be going to the village. The meetings already been arranged and you simply cannot cancel it. If I have to, I will personally carry you back to the village.” This guy was relentless. And from his wording, it sounded like a mission of sorts. Was he really talking to her? Perhaps it was some sort of code, giving her another name so as to not reveal her identity to the people around them? Keiko couldn't think of a single reason what they would want with her though. And she wasn't too keen on finding out.

His words weren't too threatening yet, and seeing as he was clad in casual clothes and approaching her alone, she could only infer that he did not expect to have to engage in any form of resistance or conflict. Which meant she could still walk away, right? There was no way she  would let this man carry her into the village. No matter how attractive his features were. ... Right, focus Keiko, focus. "It'll be a waste of your efforts, I'm not interested in what you need me for. Given the vague wording of her response, it would likely be mistaken as confirmation that she was this Takayama Mayuko person, and that she was simply refusing to do whatever it is they need her for."Now if you'll let go ..." Without waiting for a response, she lifted up her arm to shrug off his hold on her, purple eyes fully meeting his ... equally purple eyes. With a slight eyebrow raise of surprise upon this discovery, she let her gaze linger briefly before speaking once more. "I will not go with you, either you're going to have to try and forcibly drag me back, or you could turn around now and leave me alone."

He disregarded the moment when she took in his stature; it was simply likely she had been assessing his capabilities, seeing as how he brought a weapon with him. A waste of effort? Seiryū could care less if it was a waste of resources, seeing as how his task was simply to take her back to the village, to the administration office and be on with the rest of his day. She had already wasted enough of his time by declining his offer the first time and then had the audacity to reject it once more. Seiryū personally did not care for what she was needed for inside the village; it was simply his duty to escort her back to the village. Someone, honestly, should have told him how… difficult she would be in this event. Trying to keep any agitation from raising once more, his ears perked up shortly after she had shrugged his hand off. His eyes were trained on hers as she raised her brow, looking at him for a brief period of time.

Seiryū immediately overlooked her earlier reject as she provided him with the one and only way he’d be able to move on with the rest of his day. "I will not go with you, either you're going to have to try and forcibly drag me back, or you could turn around now and leave me alone." He wasn’t one who often tried to look at the odds of something before doing it; Seiryū was someone who knew there was a fifty-fifty shot of the course of action working. Here, he was someone we wagered he would likely be on equal footing with the woman if it came to such, but given what she was needed for, he doubted she would be a shinobi. Seiryū wouldn’t need his bow to detain Mayuko, it was only with him for protecting her. Strength-wise, he figured he had the advantage, but he’d seen quite a bit and it would not surprise him if the magenta-haired woman could one-up him.

Internally sighing, Seiryū knew that this would be the only way either of them would move on with their day, even with one of them adamantly denying from progressing their day forward. Honestly, he wished it didn’t have to come down to this, not because he was repulsed by the woman, but the fact it would likely be demeaning to the woman and the odd looks that would be sent his way would be a tad difficult to deal with. Seiryū, while he didn’t often care for the public’s opinion on himself – he was rather unknown – he knew the looks sent his way would be criticizing, and there could be the likelihood of a civilian’s chivalrous attempt to stop him from escorting the woman back to the village. Though the second case was likely to immediately fail. “You know that one of those two aren’t an option. And if you’re going to be difficult, I have no choice but to take you back by force.” Seiryū’s eyes remained trained on her figure, taking in each body movement in case she should lash out against him. To others it may seem like anything but trying to assess body movements, but this was the most efficient way for him and it would ultimately cause less complications. Deciding to go with the lesser of the evils on taking her back to the village, Seiryū would reach out with his right hand to grab her much smaller wrist. His hold, should he grab her, would be firm, but not crushing. Dealing with whatever repercussions that were associated from hurting someone he was only meant to escort was something he wished to avoid entirely. Once he would have a hold on her, he would tug with some force while still trying to not cause any form of harm to her. The tug would serve as the basis for Seiryū to begin walking back to the village with Mayuko.

How terribly persistent he was. But it was understandable if he really was on a mission. Keiko couldn't imagine that Sunagakure shinobi would be any different than shinobi of any other villages, if they were given a mission, they would see to it until the end. She could understand that herself, knowing how stubborn she got when given a mission. Incompletion meant failure, and failure was unacceptable by her standards. So this man was a Suna-nin, then. Appearances were deceiving, clearly. Seeing as he hadn't yet made a move, she couldn't judge what rank he was, or whether he really posed a threat to her. Which made things much more difficult, because if she made the first move and accidentally injured a shinobi in his own village, she could potentially place herself in much more trouble. Watching for his reaction after her clear response that she would not go with him, she wondered exactly what his next move would be.

Her left hand moved slightly, but only to adjust her hat once more. Given the nonexistent training she's been doing lately, and the fact that she really wasn't in the ideal environment to be overexerting herself, a confrontation was far from her interests, but she likely didn't have a choice. Of course, any reasonable person would conclude that simply trying to clarify her identity to this man may lead to alternate results, she had decided that she was now the target, and defending herself was going to be necessary.

“You know that one of those two aren’t an option. And if you’re going to be difficult, I have no choice but to take you back by force.” And it was confirmed, he was going to try and take her back. This'll be interesting. His first move was to simply try and grab at her once more, this time on her right wrist. She allowed herself to be grabbed, hopefully surprising or lowering his guard with the lack of resistance. But as she moved forward with his tug, her left hand would move up in an attempt to hit his shoulder, followed by swinging her left elbow towards his jaw, which - even if it didn't land - would hopefully force him to loosen his hold enough for her to pull her arm away and make several leaps backwards, opening a small distance of five meters between them. Close combat really wasn't her thing, and the greater the distance she could put between them, the better. But she couldn't disregard the fact that this man also happened to carry a bow, which meant he was likely capable of long-distance fighting.

Not being able to stop it any longer, Seiryū finally release an audible sigh that was a result of today’s entire involvement with a simple task that honestly should not have been as difficult as it was. All Seiryū was truly required to do was arrive at the Meeting Cactus (still a horrible name, he found), find Takayama Mayuko, escort her to the village’s administration building, and move on with his day with a nap and some training. But, alas, she just had to go and make things infinitely difficult for himself, and in turn, her as well. Why did something so simply have to become so difficult? Why couldn’t someone else have to deal with this woman who was adamantly denying the sole purpose he was given for being here? His grip on her wrist was lighter than it would be if she were someone who was aggressively resisting and putting up a physical confrontation, but that was not the case.

As he began to lead the way back to the village, Seiryū hoped it was easier done than actually said, seeing as how the past few minutes of interacting with her seemed to be a struggle to get her acceptance. Before he could dwell on his inner musing for much longer, he felt a force meet his right shoulder. The strength behind it was certainly stronger than he expected, yet it hadn’t been the worst he had dealt with either. Seiryū didn’t sense that anyone had stepped closer to them, so it had to be her by an easy thought process. Seeing as how she was obstinate in staying put earlier, he should have expected as much. On instinct alone, knowing where her arm was, Seiryū’s right hand released its grip on her wrist, as he proceeded to duck forward to avoid what would’ve been an elbow to the jaw. Instead, the end result was it grazing against the back of his neck, brushing against his slightly unruly hair. God damn it, why did this have to be so much more difficult than it needed to be?

As Seiryū would turn around to face her, he noticed she placed more distance between them, roughly five meters or so. While he was primarily a long-range fighter, the distance between them was still quite small that it wasn’t the best case scenario for Seiryū to utilize his bow. His hand to hand combat was average, at best, for an individual of his rank. He was prepared to trade blows if it came down to it, though actually leaving any marks of combat simply would get him in more trouble than he was willing to deal with. Knocking her out was an option, though then it would just draw more eyes to them should he take her back to the village. He simply just couldn’t win this, could he?

His eyes focused on her once more, taking in her stance from head to toe. The Meeting Cactus stood behind her, and his eyes drifted there for a brief moment. There, next to the cactus stood another woman. Same description as the young woman who stood in front of him. The only difference between them, was the woman by the cactus seemed to be in her late thirties to early forties and… heavier. Why hadn’t anyone mentioned that to him before he set out of the village? He sighed. He simply couldn’t win. The world, it seemed, was against him today.

There was a brief feeling of success as she broke free from his grasp, although she did note that he hadn't been gripping as tightly as he could have been if he really wanted to forcibly take her. He had quick reflexes, she would give him that. It might have just been her luck that he did loose his grip on her, but the fact that he was able to dodge her elbow despite the minimal distance between them demonstrated that he was someone with training. She kept her eyes trained on him as she moved back, realizing that his response time may surpass hers. It wouldn't be pleasant if she was caught offguard.

She had managed to open a distance between them, but it wasn't over yet. There didn't seem to be any turning back now, so if she wanted to end this as soon as possible, Keiko decided that she would need to follow up with the next move instead of waiting. Quickly channeling once more the elements of water and wind, she fused the two elements together to form one of her quickest and most convenient techniques - her Ice Needles. They made up for the fact that she didn't have any weapons on her, and also helped to keep her distance from him, in case he was a close combat fighter and sought to get in close. And should he try and block them with chakra, it might give her more of an idea as to his skills and techniques. Holding all five clear ice senbon in her right hand, she flicked her wrist, letting them fly towards him in a cross-shaped pattern, with the heights ranging from slightly over his head to his mid-torso and across a horizontal span of two meters.

Too late, she realized that his attention was diverted elsewhere. Instead of seeing whether the senbon would hit him, she followed his gaze, scanning the general area until she realized what he was looking at. An older woman with long magenta hair flowing freely down her back, standing alone and appearing to look around, evidently looking for someone. And then everything started to make sense. Was that Takayama Mayuko? She had to admit that their hair shades were pretty similar, and if a stranger was going purely by physical description, it was possible to mistake the two of them. Honestly, how offending to be mistaken for a 40-or-so year old woman? And escalating to the point of combat? They were both to blame in this situation, not that Keiko would ever admit to it. Her eyes widened as she realized she had just attacked him, gaze flashing back towards him to see if he was okay. Maybe she should feel bad for giving him so much trouble instead of attempting to clarify the situation from the start.

Why was he such an idiot at times? Seiryū should have taken her resounding ‘no’ from earlier as a sign that the woman that stood before him was not Takayama Mayuko. This entire scenario could have easily been avoided if the administration office had provided him with the slight few details of Mayuko’s age and build (he only had been given a rough estimate of her height). To the random stranger that stood before him, Seiryū seemed like a complete and utter idiot should she turn around and realize who he was truly sent here to grab, that is, if that other woman was in fact Mayuko-san. Right now, he felt like hitting something, but he didn’t need to get in to a fight with the woman he initially assumed was Mayuko-san. Speaking of her, his eyes went to focus back on the younger woman, that currently to him were both Takayama Mayuko.

Ice. That’s what he had seen darting his way. He only had a moment’s notice to actually move out of the way and even then, the small distance between them didn’t provide Seiryū with an ample amount of time to cleanly move out of the way of all five frozen projectiles. Normally, he would have enough time to react by creating a seal, rendering the jutsu she had used useless, but such wasn’t the case. Committing to moving to one side, Seiryū sidestepped towards his right, knowing he was moving out of the way of at least one of the five needles. Another senbon flew by overhead, leaving only three that could potentially hit him. Before much else could happen, he felt pain registering from three different locations, each not being as bad as he had assumed. One was grazed the skin by his right abdomen, leaving a clean cut. A second had found its home half an inch deep in his left deltoid. The last of the three grazed the outside of his right deltoid. They would bleed, that was for sure. On the slight bright side, at least he wasn’t wearing a white t-shirt (only a light-gray one).

He probably deserved this for the inconvenience he caused to the now unnamed woman. With his right hand, Seiryū reached to grab the needle that embedded itself and pulled it out of his skin. Ignoring the pain that came with it, he glanced at the senbon before discarding it. The cuts would sting for a bit, mainly due to the lack of adrenaline. The younger female had turned her head towards the cactus as his eyes gazed between the two women. Dropping the cold object on the ground, ignoring his curiosity of it, Seiryū made his way towards the meeting cactus to take the woman who he officially deemed as Takayama Mayuko back to the village. The sooner he got back, the sooner he could do his terrible job of bandaging himself up and putting on a new shirt.

Passing by the woman he used ice, he only muttered out a “Sorry.” There wasn’t much else he could say for the problem he created – a problem that resulted from the lack of information. Going up to the ‘new’ Mayuko-san, introducing himself, and leading her back to the village would be far simpler than his interaction with the woman whom was now just an innocent ‘victim’ of just a few minor mistakes.

Keiko

D-rank
It did hit him. With a jolt of surprise, Keiko realized that at least three of her senbon had made contact with the man. It wasn't that he didn't try to dodge it, his slight step over managed to prevent any injuries to more serious places. It wasn't a huge concern - Keiko knew that her low-ranked technique wouldn't do much damage as she had chosen it specifically not to injure him, but rather test the waters for the impending fight. But it looked as though even that was unnecessary, seeing how this situation diffused as abruptly as it had begun. His attention was no longer at her, and it was clear that Keiko was no longer involved.

In an instant, the man had reached down to pull out a senbon that had lodged itself into his skin. Her mouth opened as though to try and stop him, but cut herself off before the words could escape her. She wanted to say that it would be better to just leave the senbon in him, that the ice would just melt eventually, and the coolness would help constrict his blood vessels and put a stop the bleeding. Pulling it out would only open the wound to free blood flow. Which ... yup, it did. Keiko let out an exasperated breath, rolling her eyes as she did so. Shinobi would be shinobi - those with little or no knowledge in medicine just seemed to like to endanger themselves even more. One would think that those who put themselves in constant danger by way of their very occupation would try to at least learn how to treat their own wounds.

Biting her bottom lip to prevent herself from saying anything, she watched silently as the man began making his way closer to her, but towards the other woman. As he passed her, all he offered as a simple “Sorry.” What? Was that it? Brows furrowed, Keiko continued watching him as he reached the woman and exchanged a few words with her. Within a few moments, they were walking back towards the village together, as though nothing had happened. Well then, what a waste of time. Keiko sighed as she turned her attention back to the cactus, which now suddenly seemed so insignificant after the eventful little episode she had just been through.
