Karumo

Karumo

D-rank
Mission:

Karumo stood flicking his fingers through the folder, reading the profile of Chu Bu and his abilities. He certainly seems one for pageantry, but his physical ability far exceeds even my own. I'll have to try for some infiltration and espionage tactics then. Hopefully I can get close and kill quickly, his bodyguards should be of little consequence then. he thought to himself as he read the names of those he had killed and their own respective ranks and the civilian casualties. He was certainly no pushover, Karumo adjusted the collar of his jacket and set the folder down. Sliding it over to the mission receptionist, "Thanks, I think I've got it." he spoke up as he began to step away. She tilted her head, puzzled as he turned, she called out loudly, "You don't want to keep the file and look it over further?" some haste in her voice. Karumo merely raised his hand and waved to her from behind him, "Nope, got it all memorized already." After he exited the building he dashed off through the village and out of the gates, making one stop back at his home to grab his ANBU gear and mask. Then it was a straight shot to the compound that held his target, the man who had to die and the one who could easily kill Karumo.

Perched upon a stone a few hundred meters outside the camp, it was early evening and torches began to get lit and people walking about. Night time would be the perfect time to strike, he would just have to move swiftly like the shadows that these men were hiding from. Criminals were always such superstitious and cowardly people, hiding their own fears with pseudo strength, it would be Karumo's job to instill a new level of fear into their very soul. Adjusting the mask on his face, he spoke, the voice changing his voice into a dark, almost toneless, and near robotic voice like he was speaking through a radio, "Let's go." he spoke to the two other ANBU behind him.

They shot out and took up positions outside the camp, their job was crowd control and the slow and meticulous elimination of the extra troops, clearing paths for him and killing the criminals and bandits that wandered outside the safe zone. Karumo though, would be working his way through the compound, fighting and killing his way through to the center, into the building itself where he would be looking to sneak around and kill the man who stood at the center of it all. Karumo sat perched on the rock, finger on the radio button around his neck, calling out positions from his overhead position, letting them strike and kill the extra men. Surveillance was key, and he counted that he would need to eliminate at least 15 of the 50 or so visible men before it would be safe to move in.

But that wouldn't take long at all, with such an active compound for so late at night. It would only be a few minutes before the bodies began to pile up in the shadows, and then the real fun would begin.

Karumo sat crouched on the edge of the compound, taking recon of the surrounding area and the people moving about the compound. What, around thirty five or so left? he thought to himself as he took in the measure of it all. He would move stealthily, crouch walking his way everywhere and using the shadows to his advantage at every moment. He looked around and waited for his immediate location to clear up before pressing the button to the radio on his neck. "Preparing to go radio silent. Razor, begin securing and eliminating as quickly as possible. Banshee, once a path is cleared make it to those spotlight towers and take the guards out. Point the lights to unattended areas to clean up our breathing room." he paused for a moment and go to 'Rogers' from the both of them. Then with a final bit he pressed the button again, "Initiating radio silence. Break only for emergency. Out." he said and released the button.

His attention flickered back to the compound, it consisted of two parts really, there was an outer perimeter full of tents and other gated areas for livestock and such. A few storage warehouses but nothing of real value, occasionally guys would walk out here or patrols would exist in these areas, but that was a null point. The real concern were the watchtowers, about 5 or 6 scattered about strategically along the perimeter. But that shouldn't end up as a serious problem, after all, he had two other highly skilled ANBU with him. And from the Oracles, their cunning in battle was at the height of the world, striking fear into strategists name' with a mere mention. And Karumo, he was their Captain, the execution would be flawless and the plan fool proof. By the time the night was over, they would all be dead and not a sound of made.

It may be a bit of a cliche, but Karumo kinda stole the idea from the angel of death, coming into towns and cities at night. The enemies of God slaughtered in a night to send a message, sometimes the first born of those heathens and sometimes it would be all that lived. So there he was, crouched at the edge of the compound, his squad working its way through, looking for any sign of Chu Bu and his compadres and a quick and easy way of eliminating them. With any luck and given how late it is, they might find him asleep and his guards easy picking. But how lucky could a person really be in the end?

He started at cutting through the perimeter, following along dark paths and outside of tents, killing those he found without prejudice and quickly. A kunai to the throat or breaking their necks, whatever advantageous moves he could find to keep things running smoothly. With each tent he cleared, he put out the candles, marking each of them cleared. A storage shed with a creaky door posed a problem but the guard inside wouldn't have time to react before meeting his end. The face of doom flying at them, horror being the last thing that they each saw.

But he continued on, with each tent and every body disposed of, they got a little bit closer to their goal, and knocking down an opponent every minute or so, it would take the three of them less than 30 minutes to clear it out at that rate. It may seem like a long time, with lots of risk to being discovered or found out but there wasn't much of a way around it as they stumbled around the compound unknowingly. Some powerful area of effect jutsu might be handy here, but only after Chu Bu went down, he was far too strong to take in a straight fight. The three of them together could potentially take him on, but with the rest of the compound and his bodyguards, it would be a losing battle without dwindling the numbers first.

The hunt continued on, he wiped the bloody kunai in his hand against a rag he found in one tent, when he discovered his next target, a very promising tent great in size and heavily lit. There stood two men outside of the tent guarding each size of the entrance with katana already drawn. Now he had to decide on how he wanted to approach it, whether to infiltrate the tent and strike their boss first or to take them out and then work his way to Chu Bu. Both ideas have their risk, but how would he go about it? He crouch walked out of sight, making his way to the back of the tent and placing his ear to the tent to listen in. Snoring, heavy like a roar. Typical criminal boss, letting his men work hard into the night while he relaxed and slept his time away. That would be his down fall, now, the decision on how to infiltrate, or should he call his squad and get them ready for a joint strike on the tent. After all, the compound should be at roughly half of its manpower by this point in time, and there hadn't been any alerts yet.

Now, decisions decisions. What to do and how to go about it? Did he have the confidence in himself to handle it all, or should he call in back up and hope that the three of them could infiltrate and finish him off silently. He approached the center of the back of the tent, brandishing his kunai in his hand and feeling its weight. He had to go for it, this wasn't an emergency yet, and there was no reason to break radio silence. If things went south, hopefully he could make a maneuver and get help quickly. But odds were, he wouldn't mess up here, especially with this gorilla so fast asleep, well, he sounded like a gorilla. Perhaps the insult was a little unbecoming of the situation but it didn't matter now, just finishing the mission mattered.

Karumo looked over the tan canvas tent as he crouched at the center of it, listening to the snoring of the heavy set man on the other side of the tent. He brandished his kunai, quietly and slowly cutting into the tent and cutting back a point for him to enter in at. The shape of a square, the canvas cut easily with little noise as he pulled it back, just big enough for him to crouch through. One foot at a time, the wind flapped with wind quietly but no louder than the rest of the tent, however the inside shocked him.

What he expected to find and what he could imagine in place for this grand tent were a little perplexing to say the least. Where he might find some luxuries and a desk with the business affairs of his organization and maybe some alcohol, he found even more grandeur items. The bed he lay on was no closer to a cot than the ground was, instead was a large bed and mattress with fine silk sheets in a golden color. His walls were empty but he found a wooden dresser and on it many pieces of fine jewelry and his desk was as nice an oak as he'd ever seen. Towards the back on a nightstand like table, he saw some very nice glasses and a whiskey or other alcohol to go with it, the glass was diamond infused and shined like he had never seen before. No, Chu Bu certainly spared no expense for himself and turned his on site encampment into more of a luxury resort or his own home. It was a bit grotesque when Karumo thought of the crimes that might have gone along with it to pay for an finance all these items, instead he stood up and calmly walked over to the bed the man was sleeping on. Ignoring the nice rug as he walked along, his footsteps didn't make a sound and it was Bu's luxury that allowed him to do it so easily.

Approaching the bed he took in the appearance of the man, a bald head and heavy set muscles. He looked like he could snap a table made of stone by simply bending it in his grip. Karumo grabbed a second kunai from his pouch and carried them both in his hands as he leaned over the man, laying on his side with his arms crossed. Karumo stepped up quickly and crossed his arms, letting each kunai rest on each side of his neck, using his leg to brace his left arm and keep him turned to the side. Pressing down with all the force his body would let him, Bu began to wake up and take notice of what was gonna happen, a snort and grunt as he caught his breathe from the snoring. Karumo spoke quickly as he pulled his arms in opposite directions and let the steel slide through the flesh of his neck, "Hello, Chu. The multiplying villainies of nature do swarm upon him." he struggled for a moment, "What the H---" his voice was cut off as the blades cut through him.

Blood splattered upon the canvas of the tent as the shadow of Karumo could be seen standing over him and the splatter cover his image as Bu struggled and groaned grasping at his neck. Blood would continue to pour out and cover up his sheets as he gasped for anything, his two guards entered quickly with their swords drawn and pointed inward. Karumo jumped back away from him and let him stumble to the ground, blood kept pouring and his body guards watching in disbelief, shock covering their faces. Karumo drew his sword and watched with his head down, the mask changing his voice into a darker and more ominous tone still, "We are oft to blame in this... 'Tis too much proved. That with devotion's visage and pious action we do sugar o'er the devil himself." They both charged forward as Bu's eyes grasped for help, guilt and regret were in those eyes as he realized his time was ending. The first of the guards swung high to low, trying to cut him in half as he might a tree for firewood, but Karumo stepped to the side. These guards were weak, slow, not worth the effort, Karumo spun and let his sword lash out at them, cutting the first ones throat, adding to the pile of blood that was collecting within the tent.

The other body guard went down with equally as simple a motion, Karumo spared him the indignation of words that he wouldn't understand. Simply letting him take his leave of the earth and his place in the dirt with the other criminals. These criminals were always such cowardly sorts when faced with their deaths, not a one of them ever died the way they lived, always full of regret and spoiled by their own tenacity. And these three were no different, they all died weakly, Karumo walked out the front of the tent, leaving the rest of it all behind him to accompany their journey to the afterlife. He pressed the button to radio on his neck, "Chu Bu is dead, silence is broken, wipe them all out quickly. We're done here." and with that screams would burst out, the few men left behind would begin falling like flies and without discretion. The ANBU squad of expert assassins would be able to wipe them out like it was nothing, and then from there it was back to the village to report a mission complete and take their leave.
