He blinked owlishly; his eyes focused upon the skyline and watching the sun begin to lower itself towards the horizon. The rooftop he situated himself upon was of the very building he lived in, a four story building where his residence was located upon the second floor. He wasn’t too eager to get anything done right now, but his wish was to get out of the village for his next mission, one that would be coming up the very next morning. The hours from now to the beginning of his next mission left him on edge, wishing to get up, move about and rush forth. But, alas, he wasn’t scheduled to leave for another ten or so hours. Even so, he was prepared to up and leave at any one moment. Though leaving now would do nothing, since he had a small information package to pick up in the morning and it wouldn’t be available until then.

Roaming around the village would certainly help in aiding his nerves, helping him calm his muscles and bones down from the restlessness they suffered over the past few days. No matter what he had done, whether it be training, sparring, or simply running, none of them seemed to calm him down. Rather they all left Seiryū wanting to get out of the village and feel the thrill when it came to an actual battle instead of a spar. Seiryū’s right hand played with the single arrow that he had drawn from his quiver, twirling it gently between his fingers as he sought to alleviate some of his restlessness. So far the twenty or so minutes he spent on the rooftop failed to do anything for Seiryū, instead the just happened to make it worse.

Taking his right hand to deposit the arrow back in to his quiver, Seiryū stood to his feet, grabbing his bow that had been resting next to him when he seated himself. Having just returned from the training grounds and no desire to venture inside to clean himself up, Seiryū decided that a walk would prove… slightly beneficial for his nerves. His purple orbs ventured towards the north, not wanting to have the sun directly towards his eyes. Cracking his knuckles for just a moment, the archer stepped towards the ledge of the building, planning on taking the direct route down to street level, rather than going about the longer route of utilizing the staircase inside of the building. Making sure there was no one that would be near the spot he landed upon for a brief second, Seiryū stepped off the ledge, knowing full well he’d land safely due to having done this numerous times before and it being next to nothing for a shinobi. Having landed, Seiryū stood up from the crouched position he had landed in. Surprisingly, there was barely anyone on the streets at this time, though considering they were in the slums and the time that it was, most individuals were likely preparing for dinner, something Seiryū could hold off on for a bit longer.

Ryu quietly wandered the streets with his hands in his pockets. His long shirt and coat were a little baggy on him but ever since the last scuffle he had with the thugs a couple of blocks over and that fight he had with the strange kid that came at him with knives they were in pretty bad condition before he just went and used his profits to buy new ones. He was cheap though so he had stuck to a thrift store and the smell of some old perfume still clung to the collar of his coat. His boots thudded across the sand covered streets as his pants barely remained above the ankles. His button up shirt was tucked in but unbuttoned halfway down his chest showing off his ink. After all if you were going to spend a couple years in prison you were probably getting some work done and one might as well show it off. Over the open shirt was a thin black coat with the sleeves rolled up and A tie hung tied around either wrist....close enough to bandages should he get cut again. His blonde hair hung down passed his shoulder but it was held out of his eyes by an eye patch over his right eye and a sash keeping it wrapped up. His blue eye scanning the road ahead of himself. After all he was watching for sketchy people now that fights seemed to be heading his way so often now. From thugs to serial killers. Insanity and Chaos everywhere.

Still he was feeling his stomach rumble and figured what the hell his work day was over. It may be the slums but he could smell food being cooked in a couple of directions. He tightened his fingerless gloves and grinned as he sniffed the air. Nostrils flaring to get passed the scent of perfume to decide what he wanted. Down the street and around the corner was some sort of Italian food...chicken Parmesan maybe? Too high class for him. No no that was not going to work for him. He wanted something more along the lines of junk food. His eyes scanned around before he spotted a hot dog cart. He smirked before looking around to check for any shinobi on the streets. After all if they caught him committing crimes with academy techniques they likely wouldn't be too lenient. Seeing no one he moved across the street quietly and positioned himself so there were no people between him and the cart. He bent down and picked up a rock with his right hand and rose up once more. Reaching to the small of his back and pulling out the Kunai he had kept from that crazy kid who tried to kill him. He breathed out and focused his chakra into his finger tips before chucking the rock down the street in a lobbing motion. It hit a post distracting the vendor and in that moment Ryu launched his kunai at a package of Hot dogs with a puppet string attached to it. As soon as it stabbed in he retracted it up and back to him before ducking back around a corner with his prize. He pulled out the Kunai with a hot dog on the end and shoved a chunk of it in the mouth before he heard a thud. Quietly he snuck his head around a corner with food in his mouth to see a Shinobi straightening out....He just sat there and stared for a moment with food hanging out his mouth. Really?! A Shinobi just happened to be up there to catch him? Fucking Mondays....

His black boots did their job of not allowing sand to enter their confines, to avoid the weird feeling of having sand within his shoes. Even if he had grown used to that familiar sensation, living in Sunagakure no Sato and all, it was one he wanted to avoid simply for the minor inconvenience it would create for him. The remaining portion of his lower body attire helped out with that as well, having his loose fitting white pants tucked in to his shin length black boots. The only other piece of visible clothing that he was wearing happened to be a simple navy blue t-shirt, one that wasn’t too tight, but just enough to highlight the lightest traces of his muscular features. Seiryū’s usually attire consisted of similar clothing to what he wore today, though the only usual difference was his lower body attire, as he didn’t often wear these baggy pants, but they definitely were suitable for the atmosphere and environment that was provided to the people of Sunagakure no Sato.

Having stood tall once more, Seiryū’s eyes roving over the street that happened to be on the right side of his apartment building, as it was located on the corner. Nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary, just a few people milling about and going about their day. His nose caught scent of meat and some condiments that happened to go with the smell that his olfactory senses had received access to. A loud ringing noise reached his ears, immediately Seiryū’s eyes shooting over towards the direction the noise had come from. He didn’t catch sight of what hit it, but it was certainly a small object that his eyes hadn’t picked up. Right next to the lamp post happened to be a food stand a few meters away, a hotdog stand to be specific. There happened to be a quick action that followed shortly after the object dinging the post. His eyes watched an object dart towards the stand, a shiny metal object that certainly seemed very familiar to his eyes. He possessed one, had one currently resting in his pocket. There was a slight urge for him to reach for one, just in case there was a possible threat, though he stopped himself after a moment of thinking. If the person was stealing food from a stall, the person likely didn’t pose a threat, or at least was a danger to the community surrounding them.

A moment had passed, Seiryū walking towards the area where he saw the kunai dart out. It took a few more seconds before a head popped out from the corner of a building. Long, straight hair attached to a clearly male figure happened to be what Seiryū saw immediately, a hotdog practically hanging out of his mouth. He wasn’t sure what to make of the situation, but he certainly could care less about what exactly occurred, though the hotdog vendor did deserve some form of compensation for losing one of his many sales. While a single instance didn’t create too much of a problem, the concept surrounding it and if there happened to be more shinobi abusing their powers to simply take what they want, then someone needed to put a stop to it, even for one single person.

His purple orbs were solely trained on the individual he had caught, or rather seen, taking something they hadn’t paid for. “Tell me, is there a reason for you taking something that’s clearly not yours? You certainly never ordered it, probably left someone else waiting for their meal.” Seiryū wasn’t hostile in his advance, but rather approaching the stranger cautiously, eyes scanning the environment for if the stranger had anyone allies around that would jump him at any one moment. “Now, I won’t stop you from finishing… that hotdog. But, do tell me, what reason do you have for outright taking that instead of simply paying for it?” His voice remained calm; he wasn’t exactly here for a fight either. He just simply wanted an answer and made sure that the vendor would be compensated for this situation in the end.

Ryu watched cautiously as the individual approached him. After all it wasn't common for people to make that jump. He was sure he had looked around the couple of floors above him and hadn't seen anyone with a weapon much less a quiver. He could almost see those arrows drawing blood from him now. If it was open ground he would have no chance of escape without injury. However a glance over his shoulder showed plenty of objects in the path and a couple of escape routes. He doubted he could truly outrun a shinobi if he played fair but that wasn't really his goal anyway. Just his freaking luck that he would get caught stealing food with a ninja technique no less. He was aware of the fact that he was likely outclassed here. After all if the individual had made a jump from such a ludicrous height and walked away from it so calmly he was probably screwed. If he had made that same jump he would of broken both legs if not died. But that was the world of shinobi. Impressive individuals every where. Here he was at the bottom of that food chain and in trouble.

However the fact remained that he needed to make a decision. If he was going to go quietly he needed to submit himself to the individual. Most of all he would need to drop his weapon. If the individual believed he was looking for a fight he was far more likely to take an arrow to the face. Truthfully he was not looking to die right that moment. After all arrows to faces typically didn't end well for the owners of the faces. He had seen someone get an arrow to the eye trying to escape the prison once and that death was not pretty. If he was going to run however he would need a rapid plan and a clever course of action to get away. Straight up running down the street wasn't going to get him far because an archer just needed a clear shot for a moment. The more he aggravated the person the more likely he was just going to take a shot to the back. The more he waited though the more likely to fail at an escape. His eyes scanned the alley. He could clear the dumpster and use it as cover to get in the window...but was a package of hot dogs really worth injury? He did not feel that was the case personally.

Calmly he let the knife drop out of his hand with the remainder of the hot dogs falling to the ground as well. Each thudding into the sand before he raised his hands up in surrender and swallowed the food in his mouth. Man he wasn't looking to go back to jail for another theft offense. This would be strike two for him and he didn't exactly have friends in there. Chances are he would do time for some stupid hot dogs. Still he cleared his throat as the person finished speaking. A considerate fella but not one that was so kind that Ryu was gonna push his luck. Still he was kind of an Ass hole himself so he couldn't just say something respectful like I am sorry sir...I was hungry and couldn't afford it. No no no he was far to clever for something so simple to say to someone so involved in his business all of the sudden. instead he grinned mischievously and endangered his life when he spoke up for no real good reason. Sarcasm was a wonderful thing.

"Well you see...Sometimes in a place like this we be too broke for what passes for meat round here. Can't all be elite buggers with pointy bits for bad people and get paid for it yeah?"

Seiryū’s eyes remained trained on the individual he caught stealing just moments ago or at least seen the remains of the item that had been stolen. He wasn’t too eager to listen or see what the hotdog vendor was currently going on about, but he’d have to deal with the vendor one way or another, depending on if the man would receive compensation or not for the inconvenience provided to him by the possible thief. The hand that held his bow fell to his side and there was no motion on Seiryū’s end reaching for any of the weaponry he carried on his person; whether that was his senbon, kunai, or arrows. Having stopped just a few feet away from him, Seiryū listened to the male’s reply, noting the tone of sarcasm that was ever-present in the male’s voice. He brushed that aside for the actual comments that had been made against him, failing to even notice the grin that was presented on the man’s lips; a further reminder that he remained an outcast from a village that had trained itself to read people and failing to notice the most obvious of actions certainly didn’t play well in his favour.

The most intriguing aspect that the unknown stranger had mentioned was the notion of ‘elite buggers,’ something that was entirely the opposite of Seiryū’s existence. While his bloodline would trace back to the current Kazekage’s clan, the fact still remained he was a bastard child from the clan that had been outcast. He wasn’t accepted by his father, he had grown up in an orphanage in his late childhood and in to early adolescents before making it on his own by joining in some criminal activity. Eventually, the archer had seen enough of what happened when one had partaken in gang activity for far too long and it just became something he couldn’t stomach any longer. That life had been roughly five years ago and while there were still occasions where he met individuals whom knew of that particular past, nothing further had been done to him. As a shinobi, and an adequate one as well, they – as normal civilians – wouldn’t attempt anything against him. He held an advantage when it came to planning and fighting against them, but the numbers likely remained with them. He was unsure as to whether the leadership changed from his time with them to now, but that matter didn’t affect him any longer. He could deal with them at any one moment.

Seiryū reached behind him with the arm hold the bow, strapping it the velcro strap made to hold his bow that was attached to the quiver itself. He wouldn’t need his weapons, most likely, and he still had access to his kunai and senbon at any instance. With his other hand, Seiryū reached up to brush his hair back as he locked eyes with the thief. Seiryū planned for the vendor to be repaid in one way or another, whether it be from the man before him or Seiryū himself paying on his behalf, pending how things played out from here. “Elite buggers?” He let the word play on his tongue, testing it out while posing it as a rhetorical question. “Just because I’m a shinobi doesn’t exactly mean I’m an ‘elite bugger’ as you like to call them. You could pass for one too, with that little act you pulled .If anything, I’d be the exact opposite of one these elite buggers.” Seiryū let the statement stand on its own for a bit, letting the man deduce whatever he could from the last sentence alone.

“As someone who actually lives here in the slums, just because you can’t afford buying a hotdog, doesn’t outright give you the right to go ahead and steal one. Think about that man’s welfare. What if he has a family to feed? Or he’s struggling to get by on his own? If everyone happens to act as you do… well… he’d probably be worse off than you. So, would you really do that to a person, whom could be worse off than you?” The question was what would, essentially, determine who would pay for the hotdog that had been taken.

Ryu watched quietly as the individual before him lowered his weapon to some sort of holster behind him. No combat eh? That likely played in his favor in the end. If he hadn't seen that display of power a few moments ago he might of considered engaging in close quarters combat. Chances were and archer wasn't nearly as capable up close. Having approached this close to Ryu the person was either not aware of the fact that Ryu was a taijutsu specialist or what was far more likely, was the individual was confident in his ability to smack a bitch to the ground if need be. It irked him to be underestimated but what irked him even more was the idea that he knew he would lose that engagement. The raw power to stick that landing he saw a second ago suggested highly that any attack he used on the man was going to be nullified entirely with minimal effort. He knew he would lose that fight and he hated it. Still he almost wanted to try the shinobi. See if he still had that power in him. See if he had lost that touch he had that put him in prison to begin with. However he had been made harshly aware of how those actions led. This person was trying to reason with him though. odd but alright.

Slowly and calmly Ryu lowered his hands but made no move to pick up his Kunai. He may have been a hot head but he knew any such action would end badly. Instead he hooked his thumbs into his belt line and listened to Seiryu. He almost scoffed when the man compared Ryu to himself. How humble of him not to see his own power. As if people Ryu's level could adjust to making four story jumps. A glance at the ground where he had landed confirmed the indents were still there. Still his one eye that was not covered by the eye patch shifted over to Seiryu again. He had taken a risk looking away from the man across from him that was some sort of fighter. Truth was Ryu had no idea what the guy was capable of. He seemed to consider the citizens around him so he likely wouldn't wipe out a building to take Ryu out but in his experience Shinobi were less than considerate to those around them. They had never been kind to him anyway. Those three genin he had beaten into the hospital had gotten that beating for taking down his gang of friends with no chakra capabilities...and that kid in the dunes had tried to kill him for looking 'cool'. Shinobi on average were bad people.

Still Ryu did scoff and even spit to the side as if the last of the mans words left a foul taste in his mouth. His eye glared back at the man in open defiance as the vendor began to shout at them from his distance away. He had noticed the missing product and located it on the ground and was now storming over with a stick. Ryu needed to end the discussion soon or end up getting a beating. Likely enforced by the shinobi in front of him. For the moment he frowned and spoke back. Less sarcasm and more blatant dislike in his voice now. Clearly with a raised tone he shouldn't take with someone capable of taking his life and with the village likely backing him to getting away with it being self defense. Ryu clearly had issues with Shinobi though it wasn't clear why.

"Look around you and see the state of things. Suna doesn't really have an active government here. It isn't profitable to care about us. So it is dog eat dog out here. Pun intended. I can't afford to eat and he has food. If I am strong enough to take it from him or clever enough to get it without him noticing I get to eat even if he doesn't. If he is strong enough to stop me he eats and I starve. You want people like me to care about people like him? Try to actually change things. So arrest me or let me go cause I can't pay for shit."

The tone that had latter been taken by the man with the eye-patch slightly irked Seiryū, but he pushed past that for now. As much as he himself wasn’t entirely satisfied with the current state of Sunagakure no Sato’s government, nor had he been for the past few years, there had been little he could do to change anything. Who would want a bastard child from the Kōga clan doing anything of political importance? A kid who had been abandoned by the only family he had known and left to fend for himself for upwards of twelve years. The whole political situation in Sunagakure no Sato, while it was something he wasn’t readily willing to accept, there was limited things he could do with his own standing in the village. As much as this individual was telling him to do something about it, it was far easier said than done considering what his own standing and status in the village said.

He bit back the response that initially came to him; it wouldn’t do for Seiryū to speak without mulling over his words for a brief second. His purple orbs remained locked with the single eye of the individual, avoiding directly staring at the eye-patch, but neither ignoring it. Seiryū couldn’t speak for the man’s history, but the man had assumed Seiryū’s own to some extent. He never really lived in privilege, not even when he resided in the Kōga clan compound. “So what? You’ll just go about doing things like this to survive while watching others wither away? Tell me this. Even if you could afford paying for it, would you? Because, honestly, you’ve done nothing to prove otherwise.” Seiryū, shooting one last look to the man with the eye-patch, took a step back before turning to where the vendor was located at his stand. Not bothering to spare a glance towards the man he exchanged words with, Seiryū reached in to his right pocket with his adjacent hand for his coin purse. His index and middle finger felt the coins for a bit, his eyes looking towards the stand to notice the price at which the hotdogs were appointed. Pulling out what would be a bit more than sufficient to recompense the man for his troubles; the amount the hotdog had been, plus a little extra for the trouble the man had gone through. Wealth to Seiryū wasn’t something of great importance, having lived with next to nothing for so long. He didn’t spend his own funds on luxuries, but rather only the necessities for living and missions.

After having handed the money to the vendor, Seiryū stepped back towards the building where he dropped down from, where the man who had stolen the hotdog had been. Regardless of if the man remained there or not, Seiryū would utter out a few more words, simply due to needing to get them off his chest instead of swallowing another combination of words that would never be revealed to the world. “You should take your own advice. Don’t advocate for change when you yourself do nothing to change anything.” With the last few words, Seiryū stepped towards his apartment building and made his way towards the front entrance, not truly looking forward to his minimalistic meal of ramen, but it would suffice.

Ryu clenched his fists and waited a moment for the man to make a move. It looked like he had struck a nerve with the stranger. Those purple eyes much like the one he kept hidden behind his eye patch seemed to try and stare him down. Damned if he wasn't fool enough to stare right back. His arrogance was eventually going to get his ass a damn good beating one of those days but he was of mind to go down swinging. Still the mans words seemed to ring out and Ryu clicked his tongue against his teeth. This random mother of a duck wanted him to prove he could be a decent person if he had money? The hell did this guy think he was? Saint ninja of the sands? It didn't matter though because as Ryu rapidly began to get the bad idea to start swinging first and his gloves audibly tightened the man turned away from him without so much as sparing him another glance. If it wasn't for the fact that it fully appeared Ryu was not only gonna skip a beating but also stay out of jail he would of been ticked about being so underestimated. A good knock across the noggin for this guy might of been worth it though.

Still he watched the man move over to a vendor and reach into his pocket. The vendor had stopped when he noticed the bowman confronting the individual and looked confused that Ryu wasn't under arrest until some coins dropped on his cart. Having been payed for the food the old man simply flipped Ryu the bird before indicating with his fingers that he was watching Ryu and a thumb dragged across his neck indicated he would kill Ryu given the chance. All that over a couple of hot dogs was a bit extreme but hey if the man thought he could take a Myugan he was welcome to give it a go. After all Ryu could use the momentary loss of control to just vent on someone after the conversation he just had ever so briefly. Not that beating up a civilian or two wasn't bullying to some degree. To top it off the vendor was a big guy. He probably stood a decent chance. Still the ninja was approaching his apartment now. He mumbled something about taking his own advise and ryu cussed under his breath before flipping the guy off but only when he wasn't looking. If he was getting away he was getting away.

"Someone that can leap tall buildings can do more than me mate."

He mumbled as a sorry excuse before he sighed and reached into his inner coat chest pocket before pulling out a crooked cigarette. After all he needed a smoke. He kicked up his kunai and caught it in his free hand before shoving it in his belt line again. As he turned and walked away Ryu would strike a match against a building and use the small flame to light his smoke. Moving back into the village in order to get away from the shinobi before he changed his mind. Maybe pick a fight or two.
