A typical afternoon in the Raikage office was conspiring. The sun hung high in the air to its optimum height and was soon going to dip down. Rays of light was coming through the window as Sanosuke was writing through papers after papers that he had to get done if he wanted to find time to go out tonight. Gin had, against his finances wishes, got tickets to a premier movie showing towards Tanaka Village; which was a small thriving cinematic driven village where most of the dominant 5 star movies had their premier showings there. Even though he didn't want to spend money originally on the movie, he wouldn't think it was such a bad idea. So he was able to forgive the troublesome woman this time for going into his account for frivolous reasoning. But in the meantime he would have to finish all this work to have time tonight. Stretching his back, Sanosuke compared the large stack of papers on his left which was what he had been doing all day to the much smaller pile to his right of things that he had left to do. Just a little bit more and he'd be done. His chair reclined backwards as he was left staring at the ceiling. A small break was needed every once in a while. If he worked too hard, then he'd probably get a migraine for the rest of the night. Of course Gin would make his life a living hell should that be the case and do everything in her power to upset the migraine further.

A loud tapping could be heard from the window as Sanosuke had let his eyes close to allow himself a short moment to meditate and focus on finishing the task before him. His concentration was broken from the loud tapping and he moaned while getting up from the chair he was on. Stretching his back, the Raikage robes shifted down to his elbows as he let his body crack and stretch out any tiredness he was experiencing. Walking towards the window, Sanosuke saw the source of the tapping was nothing more than a carrier pigeon. When he opened the contents of the letter, he noticed that it was written by his student Kaekio. But upon closer examination, Sanosuke couldn't make sense of this. His supposedly prized student, a role model to most Kumo kunoichi her age, and a candidate for being his successor would make such a stupid decision. She abandons her post, without informing him in person, of escorting a kiri shinobi to the border without clearance? And she believed that a letter was all that she needed.

True Sanosuke and Kaekio had a relationship that floated along an older brother and a little sister when the two were around each other. But Kaekio lately had been acting out and showing him very little respect despite his title. There were lines that shouldn't be crossed; especially despite their relationship with each other, Sanosuke was still very much her boss. To think Kaekio would deliberately disrespect like this was an outrage. A tick mark pulsed on his forehead as he tried his best to calm down. She would need to be taught a lesson. Sanosuke resolved to march down to Kiri himself to drag the love sick idiot back to her village where she'll be punished so nothing like this will happen. But first he would need advice from someone with more tracking ability than he at the moment, and Sanosuke knew just the person too.

With a simple hand seal of his left hand, Sanosuke let out a small electromagnetic pulse that would ripple throughout the entire village. The pulse would be felt only by one original. A little spark wouldn't hurt anybody, Sanosuke justified himself. Besides this individual was his hidden blade in case his back is against the wall, the one man he would trust his life with, and the one man in his village that held the most hatred for him.

“Such is a man’s dilemma that he must meet the contemporary standards of the society that he lives in, just to feel as though he’s worth more than those who don’t. It doesn’t bother me the least, i’m no man. I’m a God.” - Ni the treacherous.

Today Han was placed on patrol duty within the walls of Kumogakure no sato. He had to monitor the movement of the masses and keep an eye out for any extreme irregularities. The only strange thing he had witnessed thus far was the local food merchants' sudden change in their prices; it was the first time in years that they had done so, but the ANBU thought nothing of it. The academy had just recently reopened due to the much-anticipated conclusion of the chuunin exams. One of their own, a young boy by the name of Elin, had won this year’s exams, which meant that Kumogakure had won the event twice in a row now. Han hadn’t attended any of the exams’ open events due to his extremely busy schedule, which was a joke in itself since his duties often involved doing nothing more than reading old files on shinobi too old to be of any significance today. It was a tedious task, but it had to be done to ensure the safety of their village. Or so he was always told. The masked Sannin was just about to drift off into another section of the village for closer inspection, when he heard a feint buzzing sound in his ears, followed by the feeling of a small tingling sensation on the ends of his toes and fingers. The sensation was identical to that experienced after a static electric shock, albeit much lower in intensity, though larger in proximity from the source. He knew just what it meant, but why would the Raikage demand his attention so urgently? Was there a threat the young Sannin had failed to detect? The ANBU vanished instantaneously from his post in a cloud of smoke and immediately reappeared on top of the Kage administration building.

The room below was close to isolated, his sensory skills could decipher that much, but the Raikage’s chakra was still burning brightly with complete ferocity. Whatever he had called Han for had made him angry, furious in fact; Han hadn’t witnessed this side of Sanosuke ever since the last time a missing ninja returned to the village seeking retribution; since the first time he had spent the day inside a prison cell. Not wasting any more time surveying the premises, the ANBU captain quickly found his way inside the kage’s offices using a secret hatch in the roofing, the location of which he only knew. He landed in front of the Raikage’s desk, bending his knees to absorb the impact of the landing soon after closing the hatch behind him. Slowly rising to an upward stature he’d gradually meet the glare of the man who had once put him in hospital for pledging his allegiance to the village, though back then the real reason behind the act was far more personal than it should have been. Sanosuke Flynt was a fearsome man both in his actions and in his words. He often let his emotions speak in place of his mind, which was a dangerous way of dealing with incredibly sensitive, diplomatic issues such as the one he was soon going to propose. “You called for my presence?” he asked, though the question was in itself more of a statement requiring an explanation.

It didn't take long for Han to arrive into the office. He knew that he would be there bellow him by the time he took 3 deep breaths. Each time the young Raikage would inhale, he would imagine himself breathing in pleasant and calming thoughts. Thoughts that would make crave out a smile in the face of the Raikage. Each time the young Raikage would exhale, he would try his best to breathing out the toxins in his mindset like anger and close-mindedness. This was a very difficult situation indeed. Kaekio did leave her post without telling. And from this letter it doesn't sound convincing. He would need counsel in order to go about the right move in this course of action. Hence why he would summon Han. At his third breathing coming out, Sanosuke opened his eyes and turned himself around to see that Han was bowed bellow him in a crouch position. The only thing that would be seen of his still on going anger is a scowl of annoyance, and burrowed eyebrows into their crevices. And with 3 counts, the sannin was here. His timing was getting better and better. Sanosuke would have even thought that the man had studied in Konoha libraries and did some experimenting with jutsu used in the 3rd Great Shinobi War on the Konohagakure no Sato front.

When Han spoke out his question in an attempt to understand the urgency in method of communication with him. He had owed him that much. Sanosuke grunted and cleared his throat before sitting down in his chair. Looking into the mask of his sannin, Sanosuke looked into the eye holes of his mask to get a good look into his eye despite the mask. "Remove your mask in my presence Han. I would rather like to see the face of my comrades." Sanosuke remarked as he kept his blue eyes on the man as he would take off his mask at his command. Once he was done he would let him know the contents in the letter. "This letter was just received moments ago and was sent by kumo kunoichi Kaekio Ryuzoji." Sanosuke introduced the letter as he tapped the desk to give the man permission to grab the letter and read it for himself. The letter was short, sweet, to the point and most of all had disrespect written all over it.

"I don't have to inform you of all people that even IF someone was taking it easy to the border of Kirigakure, a caravan the carried pregnant women could get to the ferry that marks the border of Kumo and Kiri within a week." Sanosuke informed the man looking not so pleased, and very much annoyed by his student's abrupt behavior. She will have to be dealt with, there is only so much disrespect to his seat that he could take before he would have to punish her not as a friend but as a leader to their home. From when he got this letter, it had been 2 weeks already and Kaekio has not returned from her trip. "I've summoned you to ask of your opinion of this. You know full well of the negotiations we are attempting to solidify relations between us and Kiri. We cannot let Kiri have this much power over negotiations."

"At the moment, Kaekio Ryuzoji is labeled temporarily as a deserter who much be brought back to the village alive. We must assume that she ran into Kiri as sanctuary. Thoughts?" Sanosuke concluded his briefing. For some reason, something was holding him back from labeling the kunoichi as a full out traitor where she can be brought back to him dead or a live. That would be assuming the worst case scenario as she would try to leave her village in the hopes of joining with Kiri forces. Sanosuke could only pray that Kaekio wasn't that stupid. Because then, she would have forced his hand.

"Remove your mask in my presence Han," the Raikage spoke with a much calmer tone than he'd expected. The only thing Han knew of the man was rage: cold and reserved rage, but rage nonetheless. He had felt only a drop of it today, when he first entered the building, but the feeling had escaped him before the man had even turned his back. A leather face of authority and restrained emotions stared right back at him through the holes of his mask; it reminded him of his father, when he was still alive and perfecting his sword skills, though his looked more desperate. "I would rather like to see the face of my comrades." Han had more than enough reason to hate Sanosuke - to hate the man that killed his identity and destroyed all hope of reuniting with his long lost friend - but his love for his country helped ease the pain of taking orders from the one man he could barely stand the presence of. Still he restrained himself from barfing every time they met, not because he was starting to like the guy, but because he was starting to forget all about the deal he made with the devil in exchange for his freedom. The Sannin hadn't made any attempts to mend their grinding relationship, but for one reason or another the tall brute had grown to trust his puppet enough to grant him a seat on the council and select him his as one of his personal advisers. Despite what the gravity of the title suggested, Sanosuke never asked for his opinion on any issues that actually mattered. Today was the first.

Han brought his left hand up to grip his mask by the chin and push it up and over his head. His face was as cold and emotionless as the porcelain mask that had once hid it, but it somehow made a difference to the Kage. Sanosuke's blue eyes were fixated on his own blue contacts, which disguised his byakugan and clan eye as nothing special. "This letter was just received moments ago and was sent by kumo kunoichi Kaekio Ryuzoji," the brute spoke up, hinting towards the small note in front of his desk by the tapping of his fingers. The gesture was redundant in nature, but it let the ANBU know just what the Raikage wanted him to do. Now picking up the letter with his left hand he'd quickly skim-read over it's message, which wasn't too much for the Sannin to read. 'Kaekio had traveled past the village borders without the kage's approval,' was the underlying reason he had been summoned, but where she had traveled to was a much bigger issue than why. Sanosuke went on to explain how he felt it shouldn't even have taken the kunoichi more than a week to travel to the borders of Kirigakure and back, which would mean that Kaekio had either overstayed her visit or had never planned to return in the first place: the Raikage's tone showed that he was leaning towards the latter. "I've summoned you to ask of your opinion of this. You know full well of the negotiations we are attempting to solidify relations between us and Kiri. We cannot let Kiri have this much power over negotiations," Sanosuke spoke out with a subtle-yet-apparent hint of disappointment in his tone of voice, and Han couldn't blame him. After all, this was his student who had broken his law.

"At the moment, Kaekio Ryuzoji is labeled temporarily as a deserter who much be brought back to the village alive. We must assume that she ran into Kiri as sanctuary. Thoughts?" Han wanted to say "I'll go and drag her back", but he didn't know more than the girl's name, gender and rank in Kumogakure. Tracking her down would take at minimum weeks, months or perhaps even a year if he were to pursue the case with such little information to begin with. He'd first need to find evidence, other than the letter, to confirm that she was even telling the truth about where she went, which alone could leave him in the mud with nothing or if lucky, with a month's-worth of Intel just on where she was heading to first. What if she had multiple destinations? What if she wasn't travelling alone? Had he detected her departure first hand he would have silently pursued her and engaged her once she was alone or with as little company as possible, but that option was currently not on the table. Han's eye twitched a little when the kage spoke of tracking her down himself; surely he wasn't seriously considering it, was he? Even if he were to find her in Kirigakure, who's to say they might not have taken her in as one of their own? Any attempts to bring her back whilst she has Kirigakure's force on her side would certainly trigger an unwanted war, which neither parties could afford at the moment. Not for the price of one kunoichi alone...or was there more to this puzzle than first appears? Why had Kaekio left Kumogakure in the first place? What had she risked the possibility of being hunted down and killed for? What meant more to her than the alliance of her country and Kirigakure? Han didn't support the idea of hunting her down in quite possibly the scariest village in the world, alone at that matter, nor was he in favor of sending his Kage on a suicide mission. Kirigakure's leader was a world-renowned swordsman, considered the best in the world by many and her skills as a shinobi were tested and unrivaled during the war against The Seven Bells. Her reputation alone was enough to scare the Sannin out of the idea of hunting down their kunoichi alone, but maybe he might not need to.

Han cleared his throat quickly before he began. “I think we should act based on what we know and not jump to any conclusions. We know she has claimed that she was escorting Sero and Nozomi back to Kirigakure, and if the two mist ninja made it all the way to kirigakure safely then they should at least be able to tell us whether Kaekio reached the border or not.” The Sannin would take a small breath between each speech to maintain his unrushed tone, before starting up again. “Why an ANBU member of Sero’s calibre needed a babysitter to get him to his own village’s border is beyond me, perhaps it was to make sure he didn’t eat anyone on the way, but i don’t know about this Nozomi person or what type of relationship either had with Kaekio. I wouldn’t advise you to go to Kirigakure alone; I would go myself but i know very little about the person i’d be hunting. You - being her Sensei and Kage - would naturally know a lot more about her, so it’d make sense for you to go instead, but for your own support and my assurance, take Kenji Chikara with you.”

Binsu was never into politics and rather shunned the whole idea of a justice system dicated by the likes of one man or woman’s biased ideologies, but Han had taught himself to at least understand its laws and principles. He had learned about the importance of public relations, unrushed judgement and how to always keep an open mind until there is only one plausible idea standing. He knew that there were more ways than one this incident could’ve affected their relationship with Kirigakure no Sato, and he knew that one f**k up from either of the two parties could potentially lead into a global war. “Raikage,” he’d hesitate to speak for a moment, but would soon force the words out of his mouth. “Few of Kirigakure’s shinobi are still within Kumogakure’s borders, some even staying within the village gates. I think as a precaution we should take them into custody for monitored care should things get ugly between our two villages. And should Kirigakure feel the urge to hide any information on Kaekio’s case, or should they try to keep her from us, we could remind them that some of their own shinobi were also under our care leading up to the incident.” What he was proposing was unfair to say the least, well at least to those he’d be arresting, but it would serve as an insurance plan should Kirigakure choose to put that kunoichi between their alliance with Kumogakure. “What order should i take?” he’d conclude, leaving the Raikage to decide what their next move would be, given the advice he had asked for and received.

Looking at Han, Sanosuke felt a pinge of sadness that he wouldn't dare show to his subordinate. Han, or should he say Binsu, was probably a good man that honestly wanted to serve his country. But he did break a rule and must have been punished in some sort of fashion. Perhaps he may have been too strong armed when dealing with this. But Sanosuke knew well that the man wouldn't think of betraying his country. Han wasn't the man to do so. Their relationship has been rather rigged on a personal level, but as his follower, Sanosuke couldn't think of a better person to come to for counsel about issues like theses. Even when he took of the mask, Sanosuke could see small tinges of disgust on the man's face when they made eye contact. Sanosuke knew that the man would probably hate him for as long as he lived, but as long as he served his village the young kage could sleep at night knowing his village is safe in case he should meet his own demise. Watching the man scan through the contents of the letter, Sanosuke looked back at him to continue his proposal of what should be done in response to Kaekio's betrayal. He looked calm, but however Sanosuke could tell Han was defintely disturbed by Sanosuke's blunt and frontal assault on the issue.

Sanosuke knew that he is quite the hothead who acts first out of emotion before thinking things through. Of course Han knowing the kind of person he is, would propose a plan for them to build upon together. Sanosuke listened to what the man had to say while planning how to respond to the issue at hand with a more clear head. The plan was thought through rather well given the amount of time he was given the information. Having a body guard has always been something Sanosuke hated, but then again this would be a scenario where having one is a must. So against his wishes, Sanosuke accepted the fact that he would need one. Someone that would cover his weakness of genjutsu would be needed. The mystic arts of genjutsu has always been one of his short comings as a shinobi, so finding someone that would assist in covering that one flaw of his would be appreciated. That was when the sannin suggested Kenji accompany him. A smirk graced his lips at the suggestion, Han was the right person indeed to come to for this issue. They are both master sages of their own right, and Kenji is a genjutsu master. Plus he'd be needed to assist in tracking Kaekio's trail.

Nodding his approval so far, Sanosuke heard the last part of Han's plan. A bargaining chip is something that they'll need over Kiri in case negotiations went wrong. Looking at the man with more critical eyes, Sanosuke listened to what the sannin had to say about this plan. He didn't like using shinobi that had nothing to do with Kaekio and her selfish actions, but at this point he had to do something to gain footing in this cold war between him and Ayakashi of Kirigakure. He would leave the planning of this phase to Han himself. "Contact Kenji at once to tell him to prepare for our trip to Kiri. I will leave you in charge of dealing with the Kiri shinobi that still are in the country. As of now I, Sanosuke Flynt Jyuudaime Raikage of the village hidden in the clouds, hereby places a warrant on all Kiri ninja that are still in the village. None must be fatally wounded or dismembered. Take discretion that no one witnesses you capturing them, we must not let the public know that we are rounding up Kiri shinobi. For now they shall remain in Anthos' Keep until I return." Sanosuke said after he took a deep breath in order for him to compose himself as more than just a man, but as the Raikage of Kumogakure no Sato. Each word he spoke from his lips carried weight of his decision, but also spoke about the strength he has to carry that weight to its end; whether it be sweet victory, bitter defeat, or a bitter victory. Either way, he will see this through to the end. Getting a folder from his desk, Sanosuke handed it to Han for him to look at. These were the Kiri shinobi that were still in Kumo, who have yet to cross the border out of the Thunder Country. It was a rather small list, due to the fact that only a few stragglers were left since the Chuunin Exams have been over for months and a majority of foreign shinobi had long left his village.

A thought occurred to him as well that caused him to suck his teeth in annoyance. "Before I leave, I will have a talk with Gin Kuroka about these dealings. I would rather her know about this from me, before Ayakashi has a chance to explain things herself. Under no circumstance is she to be restricted or followed." Sanosuke looked deep into the eyes of his subordinate. Gin was a definite wild card in this situation. Apart of his feelings he had for the woman, it would be in everyone's best interest to not hide things from her. Sanosuke knew this woman very well, in times of war she always protected two things: her kids, and her booze in that order. Besides her connection with him and her connection to Ayakashi, she would most likely not be able to make a concrete decision very quickly on who to side herself to. "I will promise her that while their, I will bring her children over with me to Kumo. That way in case negotiations fail and there is a war between Kiri and Kumo, Ayakashi won't have the chance to stoop so low in using the kids as a bargaining chip for Gin to fight against us." They had to be prepared for every outcome of this meeting. It was a very fine line between war and uneasy compromise. There was even a finer line between absolute chaos and advancement in politics should his even more hot headed of a lover be pushed the wrong way.

"You are dismissed!" Sanosuke ordered as he would sit back down in his chair and figure out what exactly he should say to Gin about this. One headache after another, the Raikage thought as he took off his hat and ran his fingers through his silver hair. Looks like going to the premier with Gin would have to be canceled for another movie night.Hopefully the silver haired ex Kazekage would understand why they won't be making it to a premier that she had her eyes on for a while. But his duties as Raikage came first and Gin would understand eventually why the sudden cancellation. It was a simple meeting if he overgeneralized his coming to Kiri. Find Kaekio, figure out why she left Kumo, then go from there. Under no way would he be bound to fight a war for a traitor to his village. The life of one traitor, despite them being someone who he cared about, was not worth the life of many.

Gin…
The name didn’t ring a bell.

The Raikage looked calm and composed, a sight that the ANBU had never been exposed to until now. Han expected the man to shatter his careful demeanour the moment he had heard the ANBU suggest he needed to take a bodyguard with him, but he didn’t hear so much as a grunt from the man before he responded. After listening to the ANBU’s appeal the Raikage finally spoke up, first advising the swordsman to contact Kenji Chikara as soon as possible in preparation for their trip to Kirigakure. Han had only recommended the blue-haired Sage for his specialty in Genjutsu and his inability to give up in a fight. The two had clashed in friendly combat only twice in their history, but each time the Chikara had been forced to accept defeat from the latter. The Sage hadn’t lost to Binsu because he was weaker – at least not in their latest clash - but because he was always handicapped in one way or another. Binsu had always longed for a fair fight between the two, but his dream had been unfortunately compromised by the necessary existence of his alter ego Han. Or rather, his new self.

Sanosuke gave out a nod in agreement with the ANBU’s plan to temporarily detain any number of the last remaining Kiri nin currently in Kumogakure. Han was against the idea of locking them up in prison cells: it didn’t feel right to lock innocent people up as though they had committed a crime. If it were up to him he’d simply relocate them to a secluded part of the village where they could be monitored twenty-four-seven by a few Chunin or Jounin level shinobi until the Kaekio incident had been resolved, but then again they couldn’t give them the chance to depart the village until their company was no-longer needed. Bit by bit the Sannin was beginning to understand the nature of politics, why world leaders made the decisions they made and the gravity of those decisions. It was truly something else to lead a nation and bear the title of Kage: it meant more than signing off papers, visiting local schools and giving public speeches. No, being  Kage meant that you had to make every decision in your life knowing that it’d have an immediate impact on the lives of your neighbours and merchants, your friends and your family, your people and ultimately your empire. Sanosuke might’ve wanted to ignore the ANBU’s advice because of their sour relationship, or even send him alone on the dangerous journey just so he’d get killed in the process, but the Rakigake knew his people would suffer because of it. Han knew it, he could see it in the man’s eyes as he gave his approval in the form of a nod, before formally declaring it.

“As of now I, Sanosuke Flynt Jyuudaime Raikage of the village hidden in the clouds, hereby places a warrant on all Kiri ninja that are still in the village. None must be fatally wounded or dismembered,” the Raikage announced, though Han felt as though the last note was a bit redundant. He also didn’t want the public to witness the kidnappings, for obvious reasons. Once the Raikage had given himself a moment to take in a deep breath he reached for a sealed folder on the table in front of him and handed it over to the ANBU captain. The Raikage’s booming voice broke through the silence and resonated in his ears. "Before I leave, I will have a talk with Gin Kuroka about these dealings. I would rather her know about this from me, before Ayakashi has a chance to explain things herself. Under no circumstance is she to be restricted or followed." The swordsman failed to recognise the identity behind the name ‘Gin’, but Sanosuke had probably brought her up thinking the kidnappings would affect her in a way the village couldn’t afford. Perhaps she was a big political figure in Kirigakure or just a good friend of Sano who he didn’t want to startle or upset. Han could care less: he was more than capable of taking on a few low-ranked shinobi without drawing any attention to himself. After all, of all the ANBU courses he completed, stealth and discretion was the one he exceled at the most. Assassination was the close second. The Kage went on to mention something about bringing back some children from Kirigakure incase the Mizukage decided to use them as bargaining chips against Kumo, but the Sannin didn’t think much of the idea. “Understood,” were the only words that escaped the ANBU’s dry lips after the Kage had given his last demand. A second later the Kage dismissed the ANBU and after Han found his way out the building he began his hunt.
