Seito

And there he was…finally. His newly found comrade assisted Seito in finding the Village Hidden in the Clouds. His eyes gazed over the skies revealing a blanket of drifting clouds and rugged mountain spears penetrating the heavens. Seito had never seen anything like it, Seito had never seen a place so arid yet, so beautiful. The bustling activity and the Kumogakure headbands floating made Kumogakure feel very welcoming and secure. Seito appreciated the security; it showed that people truly cared about their home and about their neighbors. This was his first chance stepping into another village, into another lifestyle that could only be understood by those who lived in. Seito wished he would have enough time to explode the whole new world here, but he was rooted in Kirigakure; the village that he swore to protect. It had not taken long for Nora and Seito make their way to the Raikage’s building. During their stroll, Seito would receive looks of all sorts. Some looked skeptical, concerned and even curious. The four swiggly lines above his eyebrows was the culprit, yet Seito was never more proud to be from Kirigakure. The opportunity to represent one’s country does not come very often, especially for someone of such a low rank.

Each footstep signaled a crunch beneath him as he was getting closer and closer to the Raikage’s office. Seito could not help hold his smile throughout the entire parade through the village. Kumogakure was a diverse place with many people of different colors. It became apparent to Seito and the new change bolstered his friendly expressions. There were all sorts of different things going on in the village; he noticed a large casino that seemed be very active. Seito wondered how much money that brought in for the village, perhaps, Kiri should consider building one as well. A few steps past and Seito nodded his head in respect. A large cemetery displayed itself revealing an amount of shinobi that have passed to protect the village. ‘True Shinobi.’ He mumbled under his breath in a prayer as he walked past. A true shinobi fights to protect what is behind them. Within minutes, Seito discovered a new found respect for Kumogakure.

It had not taken long for Seito to reach the porch of the Raikage’s building. Behind the building were other buildings; some had not cast shadows but Seito thought little of it. His mind was more focused on what he was going to say, his nerves begun to turn and it felt great. Seito enjoyed feeling the pressure, it was moments like this men showed what they are made of. His eyes wandered around the inside of the building. He wanted to know everything about this place, he knew there were secrets in there; not that he would be able to access them but it intrigued him knowing that private interactions occurred within this building and probably in the lobby. With his chin up and a smooth façade, he walked through the building and up the spiral stairs towards the Raikage office. His Kirigakure headband was strapped tightly around his forehead with his tanto over his left shoulder. His Hattori symbol proudly displayed over his heart on his dark blue garment. He would have to act with poise and respect towards the Raikage. This moment became very surreal for Seito; a true testament to what a true shinobi partakes in. His hand clinched the scroll that was to be delivered to Kuroka Gin. After taking in a deep breath, he knocked three times on the door, eagerly awaiting a response.

Their journey was brief as Nora was adept in traversing the cityscape of Kumogakure efficiently. The village was bustling with it's people who enjoyed their undertakings in the relevant sanctity of the weathered mountain fortress. He noticed Seito's wandering eyes observing their surroundings with a degree of curiousity and respect that both delighted Nora in that he was responsible for the Kiri genin's first impression of the village hidden in the cloud. Their path winded, taking them passed the edge of the Cloud Cemetery, through the marketplace and on into the Kage's place of business.

Admittedly, the boys had grown comfortable in the presence of one another which would be noticeable to the trained eye. Nora's body language was relaxed and at ease as they strolled through the unusually busy halls of Sanosuke Flynt's office building. They neared the imposing doors of his personal office and without hesitation his comrade moved to announce their presence. Nora contemplated briefly the importance of Seito's business with this Gin Kuroka he previously had mentioned and he could only imagine how much finding her meant to the boy dressed in blue as he observed the firm grip he had over the scroll in his hand. A scroll he reasoned was for the lady he sought to find with a passing, yet astute glance.

Nora would not move forward as he awaited the beckoning of the Cloud's greatest shinobi. Who as a child he grew to admire, and while his knowledge of the man's great exploits was limited to common knowledge and rumor's amongst fellow shinobi he envisioned his rise to great acclaim and the leadership of Kumo as a road littered with extraordinary feats and staggering obstacles. The young dreadhead held a great deal of respect that went unseen behind a visage that conveyed only determination and focus.

"And I'm telling you that you're a hypocrite!"

"I'm a hypocrite for telling you that your transformation makes no sense and it's a waste of everyone's time?! Get off your high horse!"

"Congratulations! You just explained everyone's thoughts they had seeing their GLORIOUS leader henged into a cat!"

"Stupid fly!"

"Stupid kage!"

At this point both Sanosuke and Navi's heads were bashing into each other like 2 rhinos looking to tear each other limb from limb. Sparks flew through the air as the two shouted at each other, pushing the other one back as they made their very loud, rambunctious opinions through yelling. The whole source of this shout off was due to the fact that Navi's new transformation was more humanoid. She was a short girl, about half the size of Sanosuke himself; perhaps smaller. Green, shoulder length hair that was tamed and wavy. She wore a black long coat that extended to her shins and wore no footwear at all. What's worst was that she was flaunting it any chance she got. It annoyed her because she would use that as a reason not to do reconnaissance for him. Which led them to the argument they were in now. No doubt their voices could be heard from the hallway outside.

The tension between the two could be cut with a knife as they stood there glaring at each other. Sanosuke's sapphire eyes clashing with Navi's now green eyes looking for some sort of leeway in them; but they both were equally stubborn in giving up ground. If it wasn't for the knock on the door, they most likely would have continued this argument all throughout the day waiting in vain for one of them to yield. Sanosuke sat back at his desk and adjusted his Raikage hat. Navi sat on the corner of his desk with her back turned to the Raikage and her arms crossed. She looked very much like a child angry at her parent after not getting her way. That analogy wasn't that farm from the truth considering that the form she was in made her look like a child.

Picking up his papers on his desk, he quickly scanned the contents for any hints of who was knocking on his door now. He had a meeting with 2 genin; one from his own village and another from Kiri. It was a project that him and Ayakashi of Kirigakure no Sato were working on. Operation Tazuna. The point of the project was bridging the gap between other nations by making squads internationally with other nations to cement ties of friendship. It was named after a legendary bridge builder who hailed from the land of waves. He had almost completely forgot about the meeting.

"Come in!" Sanosuke called from his office to whoever was knocking on his door earlier.

Three knocks were responded with several shouts within the Raikage’s office. Shouts came from both a dominant male voice and from a female voice. Seito wondered what they were arguing about, the boisterous conversation was muffled through the closed heavy door concealing details of the discussion. Thoughts floated around the mind, wondering if the Raikage was always this aggressive. His eyes stared forward, at attention but his mouth broke his focused posture. “It appears we have came at a bad time.” The anxious shinobi said, almost wanting to turn around and go back to Kiri. The meeting Raikage was already daunting enough, but this display of hostility petrified Seito internally.  Of course his façade of confidence and his strong sense of pride would refuse to let him show any signs of weakness, especially in a foreign village. The Raikage granted him permission to open the door. His hand grabbed the door handle. Before opening, he turned his eyes to his new brother and nodded his head. His body language could have been read as ready, prepared to start the show. His gut had that feeling that he had when he met those bandits out in the mounds where he met Nora.

The heavy door swung open revealing the Raikage’s office. An opulent desk sat in the room with papers with two other people. One of them was a soaring black shinobi with streaking silver hair. His eyes shot back towards Nora to analyze and realize his body language. Then his eyes shot towards the green haired vixen with no shoes on. It was strange but Seito paid little mind. His eyes alerted back to the Raikage as he cautiously strolled closer to the desk but not too close. If anything, he was following Nora’s lead because he assume that Nora would be much more comfortable and lax about entering the Raikage’s office; Seito felt as if he were a child navigating the house of friends.

“Raikage sir, I, Hattori Seito have been ordered to report to you by Ayakashi-Sama.” He said, finishing it off with a bow. His spine returned back to its poise at attention. His eyes focused on the strongest shinobi in the entire village and arguably, on the entire mainland. It truly was an honor to stand before him and be granted an audience. The Hattori remembered tales of the legendary Sanosuke, a grin could not help but break itself out of the polished shinobi. The fact that he was standing only several feet away from the Raikage gave him a surreal feeling. He remembered while working in Kiri Intelligence Division there would be international relations reports with his name on it. He knew the two countries were attempting to build strong friendly ties, he pondered what this meeting could be about. It was an experience in life than not many people outside the village would have been able to say. Seito could not have believed that all his hard work would place him here, would place him in front of the Raikage to accept his orders. He wondered how it would serving two Kages...He also hoped that the Raikage could assist in locating Gin, an important message needs to be relayed to her. He was certain there were not many Kirigakure shinobi around in Kumogakure; and he was certain the Sanosuke knew where and who all of them were.

Muffled bickering could be heard momentarily from within the Kage's chambers. If Nora had to guess he would assume it was between the Raikage and his female familiar. While this was not as much a cause for him to be alarmed, it was apparently for Seito who was still remarkably good at maintaining his composed look even as Nora sensed his anxiety's onset as he protested, "It appears we have came at a bad time.” As he chalked it all up to relationship problems, another societal construct he hardly understood and watched Seito with a nod open the luxuriously thick wooden doors.

He strode alongside the Kiri ninja, maintaining his position at his side with a subtle conscious effort. Orange hues scanned the warmly lit room for signs of a struggle, and he thought them silly in their search when everything seemed in order.  In a show of respect Nora removed his hood, ruffling his hair a bit to air out his brown locks. A thin smile crept onto his face as his eyes abandoned their search and fixated themselves on the adult male Seito began his address, “Raikage sir, I, Hattori Seito have been ordered to report to you by Ayakashi-Sama.”

Seito spoke with a certain degree of eloquence and exhibited mannerisms that exuded confidence and resolve. His brown skinned counterpart swelled with curiosity at his new friend’s noticeable disposition, and something within moved him to wonder if there was more to this meeting than he originally had perceived. The man before them both was known for his far-reaching influence and awareness of the on goings of Kumo and its surrounding regions. Unlike his comrade, Nora was unaware of the future intended for the both of them. It was simply hard-pressed for him to believe a young shinobi, of the same standing as him, had managed to find his way, with an imperative message, to the far side of the Raikage’s desk without raising a particular reason for concern unless this all the silver-haired sage’s own will. Which raised even more questions. Questions that begged a slightly perplexed look to affix itself onto Oniyuri as he eyed the Kage with a casual stare for a sign in the hopes of soon understanding what this all meant. He mumbled at first, as the transition from thought to vocalization occurred, before breaking into his own report, “Sir. I was given reason to believe two men had criminal intentions and observed them for a brief period of time before they made contact with Seito. We put a stop to their plans, but there is still the matter of retrieving them.” Nora glanced at his peer, and would’ve liked to smirk were it not for formalities sake, “He explained his business here in Kumogakure and I knew you could help and would like to address him upon arrival.” Nora shut his eyes quickly, bowing ever so slightly with hands at his sides before standing erect in anticipation of a response.

Sanosuke

Sanosuke

D-rank
With Navi's back turned to him to show that she wasn't at all finished with this arguement, Sanosuke sighed and turned his attention to the door being turned open to let in the people who were previously knocking on his door. It was two boys, one with pale skin and black hair the other with brown skin and orange eyes. One had the forehead protector of the village hidden in the mist and the other done the hiate of his own village: the village hidden in the clouds. From the composure of the both of them, he could have told exactly who came from who's village just from how they were standing. The pale genin, by the name of Seito as he introduced himself, was strict and rigid. If he listened carefully he could hear the boy's heart beat frantically to calm himself down. Mostly from the nerves of meeting another kage, but from the way he was looking at him Sanosuke could see it was much more than that. The other genin was more composed and at ease with the kage's presence; as though he's been through this or at least heard about the ins and outs of the Raikage's office. Nora, Sanosuke believed the boy's name was. A quick peak of his file, that was fortunately still on his desk, was all he needed to confirm the boy's identity.

As the boys spoke their minds, Sanosuke could feel a yawn coming from his mouth as he let it out. These late nights of him doing paperwork was going to be the death of him. Ayakashi owed him for having to be apart of the testing squad of this program SHE proposed. Gin was pissed as his of him returning home late, this better be worth his while. "At ease Seito, just drop the formalities, I'm your teacher first before a lord. Just call me by my first na-" Sanosuke began to say before he was rudely cut off by a swift strike to the head by Navi's fist. It sent the young kage's head down on the desk hard as the noise echoed throughout the office. Very quickly, Sanosuke picked his head up and bashed his forehead against his partner's.

"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!" Sanosuke growled. A tick mark, along with a bump on his head pulsating at how upset he was.

"You idiot! You're the kage, act like it!"

Taking a deep breath, Sanosuke pushed the young girl's face down to the ground so she was off the table. Composing himself, Sanosuke coughed low to get the boys' attention in case they were distracted by the antics that was occurring before them. "Okay how about you call me just sensei for now. We'll work on the details later. So tell me boys what makes you tick." Sanosuke began to say as he laced his fingers into each other and rested his chin on them. "You know the basics; family, dreams, what you know so far, and why you think you should be here in this program. Last time I checked, this was a very selective program where we chose only the best representatives of each village."

"So why do you think I shouldn't kick you two out of my office right now?" Sanosuke said simply, but a hint in his eyes carried a message that although it was very unlikely that would occur, there was a chance that he might have a change in heart and follow through with his seemingly idle threat. The young kage's sapphire eyes piercing into the two of them; his left into Seito and his right into Nora. With a quick pulse of his chakra, the bay windows of his office opened up to let out a breeze to show the emphasis of his question he asked. Let's see exactly how strong their resolve is. He had taught multiple students in the past that all proved exceptional. What makes those two worthy of being taught by him personally? If Ayakashi did send some squirt from her village to be taught by him, he'd personally stomp over to Mizu no Kuni and throw that old hag through a wall. Just because Nora was from his village doesn't mean he isn't excused from this as well. The Kumo genin was elected by a group of instructors from the academy. Should their candidate not live up to their standards, then he'd march over to the ninja academy and ram all their heads in desks so they would have time to think about sending someone to waste his time.

Those boys better not disappoint. He didn't have time to teach amateurs.

Seito

Standing at attention, his comrade also added context to encounter Nora and Seito had. This would also explain how the two got into contact with each other. The Hattori forced his lips from forming into a sly smirk, instead; they quivered in an obscure fashion. The confrontation was exhilarating and the genin remembered the squeamish sensitivity in his gut to kill; a feeling that he knew he would need to get used to. There was an unusual bond between the two shinobi that hastily assembled on the battlefield. Certainly for the Kiri nin because of his proud trust issues, but he felt very comfortable around him. In fact, Seito might not say this out loud yet, but he appreciated and enjoyed the company of his newly found counterpart. His throat took a solid gulp as he watched the Raikage open his mouth, he anxiously waited for what he was going to say. Seito has never been a patient shinobi.

The Raikage granted permission for the nervous to drop their stern attitude. In an attempt to please the Raikage, his hands loosened and a smile cracked. Though, within the moment, the boy's stomach turned and was hit with an intense sensation of shock and excitement. 'Teacher?' He thought in his head as his lips grew into a crescent moon. Black orbs jolted to Nora, to see his reaction. In an attempt to further understand, he opened his mouth but was swiftly halted by the assistance's assault. His eyes observed the two interactions, from his understanding; these two fight often and fought hard. Part of Seito was annoyed with the green haired secretary because being on a first name basis would have been marvelous, though he figured he would get there with time. From the little time the Kiri shinobi had spent at the office, there was a deep understanding that the Raikage liked to yell and he was very loud. His shouts were certainly captivating. With all this, Seito could not help but let out a little chuckle followed by a grin in response to the skirmish happening before him.

'...Sensei.' He thought as a heavy weight was retired from his heart. He had been waiting to call someone sensei ever since he graduated the Academy. His shock had not settled, yet Seito was sure this was reality. The illusionist would never allow himself to be tricked into such a devilish prank. Raikage-sensei then inquired to know more about both of the genin before him. Apparently, the Hattori was placed in a program without his knowledge but he was glad Ayakashi-Sama sent him. Then he added another question, and punctured into Seito's spine by his intense stare into his eyes. Making and holding direct eye contact with Raikage-sensei was intimidating, challenging and encouraging. The Hattori followed by slowly floating his eyes towards Nora. 'Was he apart of this program too?' The thought sent a gleaming grin on the genin. Without another second to spare, the boy focused his attention back towards the Raikage and his assistant.

“Raikage-sensei.” He broke out as the sweet phrase ringed through the air. “I am the middle child of three to Senshi, a genjutsu specialist and Nadaki a retired Kiri chunin. My dreams are.” He broke with a somber stare before moving on. “Well, sensei, I envision a future where people are at liberty to follow their and reach their noble dreams. Working at Kiri’s Intelligence Division, I know what happens around the world. I know villages get slaughtered, I know child are put into prostitution rings, I know monasteries are burned down.” There was a cold chilling tone in his voice as he intently gazed into Raikage’s sensei eyes. He spoke with authenticity and from genuine experience. The strong willed shinobi would never allow his to occur under his observations. “Sensei, I want to restore humanity into the shinobi world.” His eyes drifted to Nora to see his reaction, to see what his resolve was. At a young age, Seito showed little promise to be a shinobi for his lack of physical power; he had little desire to hurt people; which is why his father trained him in the art of genjutsu. Seito had the unique power to defeat his opponents without releasing the death hounds. Of course, Seito had the ability to kill and Nora had laid his eyes as a witness. “Sensei, I will prove that I belong to be here as I have proved everyone in Kirigakure. I have proved my doubters wrong and my believers right. I will do what you ask, when you, how you ask.” His voice changed to a tone of inspiration, to one of a confident champion; to one that would serve in the public political realm. He took a deep breath in, took off his polished headband. While exhaling, he tied his headband over his right bicep, believing that he was going to spend much more time than he anticipated, he added.“I now not only serve to fulfill the interest of Kiri…but of Kumo too.”

Nora

Nora

Nora pondered whether his report was too lengthy as he eyed the Raikage’s yawn and it reminded him of the value of the man’s time. He’d undoubtedly been hard at work and when he moved to speak Nora had anticipated a stern response yet to his surprise, "At ease Seito, just drop the formalities, I'm your teacher first before a lord. Just call me by my first na-" was Sanosuke’s response, which was promptly halted by a fist conveying the female ire of his company. As they bickered briefly, the newly made acquaintances swapped brief glances and the Kumo genin couldn’t quite hide his amusement as shiny canines resurfaced in a grin. Though this faded quickly as the gravity of the situation before him was realized.

What was once the Raikage addressing Seito’s propensity for formality became a simultaneous and quickly staged interview of both boys. Nora’s mind raced now, over all the possibilities that could stem from this meeting and what was too follow. But their new found “Sensei’s” seemingly idle threat would not go overlooked.  Nora wary of the man’s words surrendered the first opportunity to speak and preferably listened to Seito’s ever so appropriate response as his own ideas struggled to amalgamate.

“You know the basics; family, dreams, what you know so far, and why you think you should be here in this program.”

The words echoed in his head once more.

Family. Dreams.

The mental reiteration of those two words saw to it that he recollected memories of the time he spent in the orphan compound as a youth during which his dreams were solidified. His awareness of the environment sharpened as his little daydream subsided. Orange hues that once stared blankly into the expanse of office beyond the Kage came to bury their gaze into the man’s own. The boys who previously reveled in their commonality would be faced with the starker contrast of their paths leading up to the moment before them as Nora began to share, “I’ve never had a family sensei. I’m a ward of the village, raised in a compound not to far from here for most of my life. Grew up every day feeling trapped, powerless to change my own circumstances. My only reprieve was attending the academy and training alongside the others. It didn’t matter where I came from, I could prove my worth every single day by being relentless in my pursuit. As a child of the village, looked for and cared for by the village, yet sheltered from it’s people within that compound's walls I dreamed of freedom too. But the only freedom I knew was just beyond the fences that kept us in. The people, the sights, the sounds, the smells, the village itself was and to this day is all that I've longed for. I don this headband to ensure that Kumogakure never perishes and if teaching me will empower me to prove my worth, and protect this village, protect my freedom, I will do all that you ask of me for our village and Kiri alike.”

The look of resolve on his face and his overly erect posture, if he could only see himself he would laugh at how reminiscent of his comrade Seito he looked. But in the heat of the moment, with a flame burning inside of him ignited by the passion with which he spoke it all seemed appropriate. But he couldn’t quite help himself from glancing in an instant at Seito, sharing a look of 'we made it' to who could possibly end up becoming the teammate he had longed for. He was sure they had answered the Kage’s question with their most earnest responses. Things depended now on how satisfied Sanosuke Flynt would be.

Sanosuke

Sanosuke

D-rank
As Sanosuke listened to the boys speak about their resolve in an attempt to answer the question he gave them, he let out a yawn tiredly. At first they weren't giving him the answers the answer he was looking for. He wanted to hear something that would truly show why they belong to be in this team; that would show undoubtifully that they deserve to be taught by him. He didn't care about what they learned or where they came from; that was all irrelevant information. Sanosuke was sure his eyes showed how bored he was already of their progress. His blue eyes showed no emotion as it gave off the message that he wasn't at all impressed. But he would listen until the end. Carrying on the message that if he wasn't impressed by whatever was left in their answer, that the Raikage would indeed carry through with his threat. Similar to a lion ready to pounce on its prey, Sanosuke's body language showed that lulled dormant intent that the boys would be able to see as he listened to their stories. He didn't have the time nor the patience to teach people who's resolve might be shaky. He needed commitment.

Then Seito did something that had him sit up straight and look at the boy in a new light. His eyebrow cocked upwards in slight intrigue. A small light was allowed to be in Sanosuke's azure eye color as he got an answer that had a good chance of pleasing him. Seito had taken off his Kirigakure hiate off and tied it on his arm instead. A fashion statement to some, but if Seito was indeed serious about being brought into this program he would be spending a lot of his time in the village of the clouds and not his home village. The young Raikage witnessed as the genin who hailed from the mist looked at his polished headband for a minute as he himself was realizing that he wouldn't be going home for a while if he did this. But the boy went through with his resolve and tied it on his bicep. A small step, yes, but a step neither the less.

Nora's story was slow as well. Significantly slower than Seito's that the look of somewhat praise died down in his eyes and returned to the equilibrium of boredom he was in before the question was even asked.  In fact he nearly fell asleep. Albeit most of it was from how boring his answer was, but tiredness was taking his poll. The boys must have realized that this job does take a lot of the Raikage. Long winded answers weren't going to cut it with him, or it might as well send the Raikage to sleep. And just like that their chances of being in the squad would be cut to 0. So a quick answer was what they needed. His eye lids were getting heavier and heavier as he tried not to sleep. After a while, when Sanosuke was sure Nora was done he saw the look in Nora's eyes. At this point he must have been deseperate to get through his answer before his potential sensei fell asleep. The look in the kumo genin's eyes was what enticed him. From what he heard about his answer, Sanosuke found both his own reason as a genin to be strong and Nora's to be the same. They both had no one when the village took them in, however that where the two genin took different roads. Sanosuke wanted to stay in the village and protect it to return the debt he owed. Nora wanted to be free. The fire in his orange plates reflected that much. But would that burning passion wane or not? It was a gamble as Sanosuke had met many other people with the same burning passion and saw that many flames go out from incredible tasks they were asked to comply. Would Nora be one of those people as well, or will he beat the odds?

A boy with the dedication to cast away the nationalism of his village for strength, and a boy whose need for freedom burns like a burning torch. This would definitely be a gamble. Closing his eyes as he rest his forehead in the network of fingers he made to rest his chin, Sanosuke began to weigh his options. This was a gamble as they both could very realistically not make the cut. The training he was going to give those two would be hard indeed; much harder than the ones he gave his other squads. They will be pushed to their limits, and then some. Hesitation could very realistically mean their deaths.

What brought Sanosuke out of his thoughts was the sound of chuckling. A quick look to the left was all he needed to find it was coming from Navi as she was listening in as well. Finally that chuckle turned into laughter. "Please give me a break! These little kids won't last a day. I mean come on" Navi snickered as she bounced off the table and looked at them one by one. It was as though she was a snake playing with her food. She was much shorter than the boys as Navi jeered and teased the. " 'I wish to serve you to the best of my ability.' Please Ayakashi must be getting old if she thinks this genin is good enough to represent Kirigakure. Or maybe her village is losing its edge. Bloody Mist my ass." Navi huffed as she did an imitation of Seito before mocking him once more.

"And then we have this walking cliche who just 'wants to be free.' IF you want to be free, then how about you leaving. We don't need amateurs in this squad, nor do we need them in this village." Navi shook her head and rose her hands hopelessly. Most likely the boys would be outraged as Navi's insults were very potent and sometimes unnaturally apathetic to one's feelings.

"Navi!" Sanosuke called the wasp back to his desk in annoyance. She skipped back to the desk and crossed her legs to see the boys' faces in glee. Most likely joyful to see shocked expressions at how she verbally ripped them apart. Damn that wasp didn't know when to stay out of affairs like this. She was still very pissed off most likely of their argument still and took it out on the boys. Immature yes, but then again in human time Navi's old enough to be Sanosuke's great grandmother; however in wasp time Navi's no more older than a 10 year old. She acts the age of her wasp time clock if anything. Then an idea popped up in his head, it caused his lips to curl in a sinister smile as he looked at the boys. Looks like he had already planned something for the boys. Their first test would see if they actually did belong in this team.

As Nora spoke he could feel the Raikage growing considerably more tired and unexcited by the minute. He noticed a slight difference in his response to Seito’s show of loyalty and Nora’s somewhat long-winded answer. Upon realizing that their efforts hadn’t procured the intended answer for them, he chastised himself mentally for a moment. The brief silence that enveloped the room as he made his way back to his original position beside his partner Seito. Both orange occules scanned the boy beside him for similar signs of displeasure with the result, and then his search became that of one for answers as he took to tracing out the curves and edges of Sanosuke’s facial expressions. The silver-haired sage seemed deep in his thoughts, which meant possibly great and terrible things to Nora who childishly imagined their superior abruptly interrupting his thoughts to go on a tirade about their lackluster responses.

Yet nothing of the sort actually occurred, and he was taken by surprise by Navi’s insults breaking through the silence in mockery of them. Her first target was Seito and he couldn’t avoid the urge to watch his friend’s body language for changes as he was sure Seito wouldn’t intentionally break his composure for the sake of jeering with this strange girl despite her trying attitude. She then in metaphor dubbed Nora a cliché and mocked his feelings regarding his newfound freedom. Despite feeling misunderstood slightly the young dread-head Nora directed his energy towards finding the appropriate reaction rather than qualification. A red flush of embarrassment crawled across his face, as he dropped his brow slightly in respite.

A spiteful grimace enlivened a single vein along Nora’s left temple.

Mmmmmm.

He knew the look on Sanosuke’s face as sinister as it was for it was one of his own. The kind of look one had when a well-thought plan was coming together perfectly for them to exact. Manipulative but with reason, the idea echoed in his head as he questioned his would be sensei’s intentions. Speaking of his aspirations was an awkward task for Nora, but the prospect of physically working towards them be it a fight or some other strenuous challenge was everything he hoped for, “What is it you want? What would you have us do then?”His proximity to Seito allowed him to sneak a bit of nudge in to alert him of Nora’s intentions, “She’s had enough talking Seito, we can show them just like we showed those two from before.” He glanced at his comrade with a passionate look of determination and resolve, emblazoned by doubt and feeling confident about their earlier success.

The Hattori could read the Raikage as he spoke. It would appear that the Raikage was not impressed with what Seito had to say. In hindsight, maybe the genin should have been more original; he was certain that the Raikage heard claims and dreams such as his on a daily basis. Though, the genin was aware that he might have earned some points for removing his headband. At least, he was heading towards the right direction. His eyes peered over to Nora as he watched Sanosuke-sensei with a plain bored expression prominently portrayed on his face. His lips stretched with disappointment, he was hoping that Nora would have gained some useable points as well; but it seemed that this would not be the case. Seito could see the doubt that the Raikage had towards the two shinobi, though he sensed that there was more doubt over Nora’s ability than his own.

This caused Seito slight heartache as he literally could not have imagined being on a team with anyone else. Literally because he knew no other genin, but he did not want to leave him new comrade behind. The two were going to have to make it together and Seito would not have it any other way. The two stood before their potential new sensei, being completely exposed and judged; not based on their merit or ability but based on their determination and motivation, judged on their dreams and resolve. Seito felt that his spirit and essence were being critiqued, this ability to fulfill the purpose of a shinobi. Chirping and chuckling broke the silence between the three as the green haired humanoid begun to mock the genin.

The words pierced and penetrated Seito’s spirit. Oh, how he should have expected this. “Kiri has the be--!!” he continued without finishing his sentence and replaced the ending of the word with a grunt that followed with a growl towards the snot nose female. The illusionist himself could not believe that he was about to fall for such a trap. The genin zipped his lips before he was going to say anything that got him into trouble, his temper was about to get the best of him and could have possibly ruined the best opportunity that could ever come his way. Luckily, she directed her fire towards Nora allowing Seito time to recover from the low blow.

A bright smile appeared on the face of Seito as Sanosuke-sama shouted and casted her annoyance away. It was obvious that he was annoyed with her behavior, in fact; it was obvious that everyone in the room was annoyed with her behavior. His smile continued as Nora rebutted and challenge the assistant. He felt a slight nudge on his arm then heard Nora calling for his aid to rid the Kage of his aide. The thought caused his face to maintain it’s smile but then he noticed the Raikage’s smile. A smile indicting that he might have just found out a way to test the spirits of the genin. Seito was not worried; he had a heart of iron that allowed him to continue pushing when others would quit. The Hattori were a proud people and used their pride to boost their endurance levels. His jutsu would prove useful, and hopefully he would soon be able to prove how useful he and his jutsu and truly be. His mind jumped to using his genjutsu on her. It would only take a moment and a sneaky hand, he wished. As impulsive as he was, he knew this one was a bad idea and praised himself for reconsidering.

“As I said before. I can prove to you why I belong here. I have a heart of iron!”
He said as with a scolding voice and a stern stare, jolting into the eyes of the female heckler. His fingers were getting itchy, he needed a release. His eyes floated towards the Raikage to hear his response and to understand what caused that smile to crept onto his face. Navi certainly was not going to get away with this. One thing that the shinobi demanded was respect! If he had to earn it, he would do so right now! It was quite obvious that there was a fiery passion burning within the genin. Kirigakure must still have his heart but he is going to have to learn how to make space for Kumo. Certainly, he believed that if someone were to insult Kumo, he would take it personally and seek retaliation for such disrespect.

Sanosuke

That look between the two shinobi as they were getting rather worked up from Navi's annoying prattle. She had the habbit of being able to agrivate even the most calm people. A tactic that she learned very quickly in the short time she met the Guru. As each of her harsh insults dealt a blow to their respectively large egos, Sanosuke could see as their eyes once beaming with pure, unquestionable loyalty now burned with the fire of passion. Good. That light of loyalty of blindly following his word as sensei would have them fail the exercise he had planned for the two of them. If they hoped to pass his test, then that burning passion in their eyes to show up Navi would be their literal torch to passing this test.

But then that smile turned into him snickering and finally full blown laughter at what Seito said. He couldn't stop laughing it was so corny. This time it was the Raikage to laugh at an inappropriate time. "I'm...so sorry...but please! Heart of Iron! Help!! My sides!!! That was just so lame!" Sanosuke was crying at how hard he was laughing. It was just so corny of a battle cry to declare out to someone. What if he yelled that out in battle against an enemy shinobi? Certainly they would get a kick out of it. Hell as his potential instructor, Sanosuke was crying of laughter and having a riot.

After taking a few minutes to gather himself, Sanosuke fixed his hat and cleared his throat. Just before he spoke, he wiped one tear and prepared to speak. He almost lost it again seeing Seito's somber expression on his face. But holding it in, he began to speak. "Looks like you two need to work some things out with Navi. You three follow me." Sanosuke said before turning his back on them to follow him to the rooftop of his office building. He wouldn't say anything to the boys as he led them upwards to the upper level of the office where there would be an entry point to the top of the administration building.

He didn't even say anything mentally about the reason he called all 3 of them up here. He knew Navi would be mentally bugging him to see why he wanted even her to come up with him for the squad's training. But he even shut her off mentally until they finally reached the top of the building. They had reached the Durian Tree of Demonic Knowledge. His getaway whenever he wanted a break from the village. It was conveniently located right above his office; but that just meant the ANBU guards of his knew exactly where to begin looking for him in case he tries to ditch his chores.

Sanosuke took a deep breath in as a chilling breeze came past them. It was getting close to the colder seasons where the winds would bring in cold weather. In fact he could see his breath. Despite the cold weather, this gigantic cherry blossom tree would always be in bloom. It was one of the wonders of this village. But he didn't bring the boys and Navi here to admire the tree. It was time to announce to them the purpose of the mission.

Before Navi could interject, Sanosuke made quick hand seals. When he was done, he shot a soft snakelike stream out of his fingers and towards Navi's face. She looked bewildered as the chakra softly coiled around her face and into her hair. At this point Navi looked like she was about to have a meltdown that the chakra was now invading her hair. It finally rested and formed 2 ribbons made of pure white chakra that held up Navi's hair into ponytails. Just when Sanosuke was about to continue with his speech, he was struck over the head with a small feminine fist that l left his hat crooked.

Navi said nothing towards Sanosuke but if the young Raikage looked into her mind, he would see messages upon messages of mental threats to come should he mess with her hair once more. A bead of sweat dropped down his brow as he realized that the only reason why he wasn't dead was because he made the bows look good. Sanosuke was grateful he knew a few tricks of the trade that he could use for everyday life.

"Your first task is simple. You have into sundown to take those two ribbons out of Navi's hair." Sanosike said. That caught Navi off guard. She even developed a tick mark against the side of her head as she just warned Sanosuke to leave her hair alone. But then she stopped getting angry and sneered at the students. She must have realized that she would be able to get to have some fun for once besides being on the sidelines. Sanosuke was also curious to see if his partner's hand to hand combat skills changed in the slightest.

"Oh by the way boys, if you're not going to come at me with the intent to kill. There's no way you'll win." Navi sang out to get the boys even more angry. She walked over to Sanosuke and held her hand out. Of course she would need weapons that were standard issue for any shinobi to use them. He did of course teach her the basics of how to use them. Being wasps, she learned how to use weapons with ease as many people from her clan were very adapt learners. With a sigh, Sanosuke snapped his fingers and an ANBU agent appeared. An additional snap was made and the agent got out from his other compartment a ninja pouch that was filled with standard issue ninja tools; 10 shurikens, 8 kunai, 6 senbon needles, and about 100 feet of ninja wire.

With a nod, the agent was gone. Navi felt the bag as she smiled even larger. Fastening the pouch to the back of her black dress, she got in a wasp fighting pose that left her entire center balanced and her left palm open to her targets: Seito and Nora. Smirking at them, she yawned. "I don't get many days where I can actually fight, so make this worth my while; despite how short this short break warmup will be." Navi began to say as she was beginning to feel herself.

Sanosuke shook his head as he watched. Navi was really ready to go. Despite her looks, she had the physical capabilities of a middle careered jounin. So the boys would have to be careful. In accordance to physical performance, she outclasses them. Being from the wasp village, she's quite older than she lets on. Her intellect and battle sense rivals even the young Raikage's. This won't be an easy fight at all for the boys. But even so, this would determine if they were really worth being taught by him.

"I'll be on the sidelines watching. So please don't mind me. And if you don't have the ribbons by the time the sun is down...well let's just say you won't like what I'll do next." Sanosuke explained as he sat down. The last part of his message was filled with such subtle stress that the boys would also need nerves of steel to not be unmoved by the warning.

Before the boys would have time to retalliate, Navi already had time to slip on black combat gloves and move rather quickly towards the boys. Her eyes were cast downwards to the ground as she ran at them. An interesting charge. She must be doing that to focus only on the scent of the boys. She was trying to capture all 5 senses of the boys so in case her other senses failed her, there was still someway to for her to track them down. A ninja prepares to fight their enemy by not letting them out of their sight, a seasoned shinobi prepares to fight their enemy with all of their senses. She doesn't know if any of them were genjutsu users, but Navi must have thought there was no harm in this approach.

How will the boys respond to this?

Seito

Seito

D-rank
A pulsating vein of tempered anger spawned upon the forehead of Seito, a bare forehead that had clearly been covered with a cloth ribbon for the better part of several years. His knuckles clinched by his side as the Raikage begun to mock him and his clan. It was quite obvious that the genin was frustrated and annoyed. Half of him wanted to charge the desk but the better half knew that route would get him killed and impact relations between the two villages. It was at this moment, that Seito had to swallow his own pride. Something that has always been difficult for him to do, but this served as a welcoming reality check. Seito certainly is a Kiri shinobi surrounded with only newly formed allied and his own kin is miles away with no ability to actively respond to times of emergency or crisis. His eyes would refuse to look at either the Raikage or his female subordinate; in fact, he did not want Nora to see his angered expression so that he looked away from Nora, keeping his face out of peering view.

His right hand raised and crossed his chest and it twinkled with the Hattori insignia that was present on the hilt of his tanto. Animosity tempered as he stood for a few minutes, waiting for the Raikage to get himself together. It was obvious to Seito that the Raikage knew nothing of the Hattori and that it would be his responsibility to get the clan name on his radar. The skeptical genin was quite surprised though, he was certain that the Raikage would have known about the Hattori and their 'Heart of Iron' jutsu. He rolled his eyes as Sanosuke-Sama begun to shift his body in efforts to call the three to follow him. With a half step of hesitation, Seito followed with his arms crossed and his eyebrows raised; he was prepared to show what he had boiling inside of him. The four would find themselves on top of the building, catching the breezes that coated Kumogakure. On their walk, the genin would display his expression to Nora. It was apparent that Seito was not 'in the mood' for games at this point. His annoyed state of mind kept his quiet as they trekked through the staircase.

With time, they would find themselves at the footsteps of a gargantuan tree that enveloped all those around it, the tree was quite special. It was so big, especially for it's location. Certainly there would be no tree like it. The Raikage then begun to showcase his ninjutsu and chakra control as white chakra begun to manifest itself into the hair of Navi. A brief grin appeared on Seito's face as he watched this hostile and callous lady shake in embarrassment, annoyance and confusion. Though, this would only be a part of the special treatment she would be receiving. The Raikage explained to the two that their 'first' task is to take the ribbons. His eyes jolted towards Nora to ensure that they were both on the same page, yet the silent shinobi would stay true to his name. It seemed that the two genin would be getting their wish and have their chance at Navi. Hopefully, the two would be capable of accomplishing their objective and showcasing both their individual arsenal and teamwork. Seito stood and watched as the power of the Raikage portrayed itself as he was able to summon a member of the ANBU with simply snaps of his fingers. The member of the assassination corp even disarmed himself and granted his weaponry to Navi.

The Hattori snarled, showing his canines to Navi as if he were some sort of heinous beast. It may have been out of character for Seito to do this, but his anger was getting the best of him at this point. His eyes rolled off every snarky remark that Navi shot towards the boy. He was done with talking. He eyed his new opponent before quickly changing his mindset. He begun to stretch his legs by bending over to reach his toes with his fingertips. He was going to need to stay nimble and avoid any damage. Hopefully, the two would be able to strike fast and strike hard throughout their new mission. 'Alright, Seito. Here we go.' He said as mentally finished counting to ten then released his body from the stretch. Sanosuke-Sama explained he would be on the sidelines, which Seito followed with a smirk but ultimately turned into a blank expression of skepticism and confusion. His right hand reached behind his left shoulder, masked behind his head. The fingers flickered as Seito shouted, "We won't delay this any longer." He said as he pulled out his tanto and leaped backwards in an attempt to gain more space between the genin and Navi.

She was moving quickly without much effort. Seito questioned how strong this shinobi truly was.
