The cool evening made it impossible to stay inside. After a few moments of relishing the thought of the chilly breeze he pushed through the door. The activities available in Kumo were endless. A concert was actually going on in downtown Kumo. He decided to make his way there. Kenji rarely dressed casual at this stage in life. Carrying his weapons and dressing in ninja gear was almost second nature, but he made a point to dress down. He had on a plain blue shirt and blue jeans along with blue gloves. “It may be time to add some variety to my non ninja wardrobe?” This would have to do for now. The streets were already flooding with eager spectators. Kenji was a huge music fan and enjoyed a night full of it. He was also hopeful that he would see some familiar faces and new faces for opportunities to bond. The Kumo nin could barely make out the words of the host, he had settled into a spot that was a bit far from the action. It was weird being in such a compact and rowdy place. No one really noticed him, and he had a slice of being part of a crowd, a feeling that had eluded him for quite some time. If he was not drawing attention due to his notoriety, he spent most of his time in seclusion. It burdened his heart to know that he had become somewhat of a recluse, seeing as he was once a pillar of vibrancy.

Bursts of laughter reverberated through the outdoor crowd. A joke must have been said by the host. Kenji squinted and looked for a way to the front. There was none. Except… Kenji leaped over everyone at blazing speed. He blasted his way over everyone and landed on stage. “This is a much better perspective.” The crowd roared. The host tried to force Kenji to keep talking. “No thank you, I am just here for the show. I am going to drop down and observe.” Kenji landed in the front, with a great view of the show now and he could hear more of what was going on. It came at a price, people starting gawking over him. “You all are leaving me no choice.” He used one of his illusory techniques to rid them of their ability to see him as being within touching distance. The show was not continuing on and the first act was being introduced onto the stage.

"Enjoying the evening?" Han boasted aloud, his gaze submissively transfixed onto the illuminated stage before him, though his words aiming to pierce the attention of the unsuspecting figure beside him.

Curiosity and the sound of music had brought him out of his secluded penthouse apartment and onto the busy streets of Kumogakure. Here he stood witness to the surreal events of the festival that took place, eyes wandering amongst the lit rooftops and cabled towers and littered floors. Several figures clothed with colourful dresses and outrageous attires passed his gaze before his attention was drawn towards one outstanding individual, towering over the crowd from his position on stage. A tall-standing man, stiff at the shoulders and much too slim to be fit. He had long, black hair that looked too neat to be real and half of his face was plastered with black and white face paint. Cuffed loosely in his left fist was a small microphone with a black base and silver head. He addressed the crowd as though he was addressing his friends – casual, outspoken and without formal considerations - It was no secret that he was the host.

Moments after the crowd’s laughter had settled a wave of disturbed grunts and rumbles echoed towards the front of the stage, where he stood. Han turned his head towards the incoming noise before catching sight of a blue-themed man dancing over the people’s heads. The only person Han knew, or rather Binsu knew, that loved the colour blue so much that even his hair was of that shade, was Kenji Chikara. The two had met twice in the past – once when the former was only a genin and once when he was still a jounin – though they had never met outside of training. From what little he could remember about the man, Han knew that in combat he heavily relied on genjutsu and bukijutsu, but personality-wise he knew close to nothing about the man. As the captain of the Kumogakure ANBU Task Force he had files on every member of the corps and every villager below the rank of Sannin, though he had never taken it upon himself to actually thoroughly read any of them. Kenji Chikara now held one of the three Sannin titles in Kumogakure no Sato, which in itself was a testament of the individual’s strength compared to the rest of the village’s shinobi. And that was enough to encourage Han to spark a conversation with the man when he landed right beside him.

“Enjoying the evening?” Han boasted aloud, his gaze locked onto the man on the stage but his attention glued on the Sannin beside him. Han had chosen to dress himself in a casual, blue and gold kimono, his feet covered in white socks and tucked under the straps of his wooden sandals. He had left his weapons and armour at home – he didn’t think he’d need them – though his mind was always alert for danger and was always ready to respond to his environment. Kenji’s unusually simple attire suggested he had the same idea in mind, though his blue gloves seemed like an odd accessory to have. Sure Kumogakure was known for its cold temperatures, but tonight the air was much too warm for gloves, but perhaps they were worn to serve another purpose. The first act of the night was introduced only moments after Han had spoken, and it looked as though a female singer would open the show.

Hidden away from the eyes of many, no one took note of the small boy carefully slipping through the huge crowd of people. As he made his way to his seat in the front which he got as part of a prize from a friend. He was waiting and the people were so noisy as he just looked down sighing since he did not enjoy this too much as he seemed to doze off, he got startled by the arrival of someone jumping into the seat next to his and then he opened his eyes a bit confused and dazed before just dozing off again as he fell asleep once again.

He had recently won the chuunin exams of that year and was tired of all the fighting, he felt he probably should have taken his nap elsewhere when he was about to go to sleep again a voice could be heard as someone began to sing.

The village was celebrating as it rightfully should have. Once again Kumogakure has continued to produce exceptional shinobi who have won the Chuunin Exams, the first being the Ryuzoji Kaekio, the Raikage's personal student and Lane Elin a self taught sealing bukijutsu genius who won through exceptional skill against the odds. Kumogakure was making large strides in the world and a wave of change was coming. Perhaps they might even cause Kirigakure to topple from their throne as the strongest village. Konohagakure could not compare, for that village only new traitors and deceit. They couldn't even keep one simple genin there and let a sword saint practically let them go. Sunagakure, wow that village really let itself go. It was practically a ghost town. The closet  the common people got to seeing was going on with them were the few suna nin that had enter and only one of which made it too the finals. Truthfully popular opinion was that Suna was not the place to be and was in deep trouble. The lack of activity meant a lack of business which wasn't good for a village in such an inhospitable landscape. The recent treaty with Iwagakure wasn't going to be much help if they suddenly decide to take over.

Certainly things were changing, and if they were for the better, well it depended on whom you were asking. Not that our dear Yasuo was concerned, as long as they could continue their business and do as they please, they could care less if the main villages went to war with each other. War meant business and they were pretty could with that. However right now that sort of gruesome business was going on the back burner, just for tonight. Like others, Yasuo was interested in the concert going on downtown. They were a person of refined taste, art, and cultural and better way to spend a peaceful evening then this. With a casual smile and a pair of black shades they headed downtown. Instead of normal attire, they opted for a more fashionable look. A pair of red acid wash joggers and a black and white cut out long sleeve shirt. It was cool tonight despite recent frigid temperatures so only a pair of combat boots, leather gloves and a felt boater hat, they were ready for a night at the town.

As they were nearing the concert the area slowly had gotten more crowded. Yasuo sipped on an old fashioned an outdoor bar was selling and gave the area a lazy skim. Music was alrght, not their main type but it wasn't bad. However what was bad was some kid ready to pass out. Feeling generous, Yasuo bought them a shirley temple and nudged the kid after seating next to him, opposite of the one whom had just did and offered the drink to them. Hopefully the kid wouldn't think he was trying to get him drunk or maybe he would. "Kid. . .Kid. . .Hey kid you really shouldn't fall asleep in a place like this" Once the kid was fully awake Yasuo would offer the drink "Here, something to wake you up. No alcohol in it of course"

It was time for leisure. The shinobi gave himself the luxury allowing his attention to be fixed on stage... so when the words rang out in his ear, in a faintly familiar voice, he was astonished. Only trickle of a startled man was apparent, but to anyone who knew Kenji, even the slightest emotional sign was a display of a truly shocked Kenji. The question was, was he enjoying the evening. "Much more now, I must confess. Outside of an ambush from rivals, surprises of this magnitude are rare to me." Seeing his once sparring mate Han humbled Kenji. An uncontrollable fit of laughter ensued from Kenji and he fell forward slightly and his hand fell on Han's shoulder. "I still remember our old duels you know. You are the most decorated shinobi I have ever crossed paths with. We must catch up." There was a devious undertone. Catching up to Kenji did not include coffee over biscuits. "It seems we both found the need for some downtime."

It was truly a joyous occasion for Kumogakure. Their very own Genin had won the Chuunin exams. It was a great accomplishment that the entire village could take pride in. Kenji was embarrassed. Elin was supposed to be his student, but Kenji did not see the shinobis talent. It was difficult for him to admit his fault. There was no excuse for his shortsightedness. Kenji wondered if Elin had some choice words for him, or was it lightning under the clouds? As Kenji's head veered around, he saw that he would know the answer sooner than later. Elin was being handed a drink from someone he did not know. Kenji was about to say something but the next act was being introduced.
