Mission Briefing:

Nora couldn't have asked for a beautiful day. The benevolent glow of the sun, enveloped all of Kumogakure in its warmth and drew the masses out of their dwellings to leisure about. The marketplace was surging with patrons and while he preferred the rooftops as his primary route to travel today was just one of those days where he could resist the sights and smells. The usually hooded boy had decided to change things up, he'd placed his dreads in a neat pony tail and abandoned the hooded garb in light of the warm temperatures. He weaved through the sea of people with fluidity and smiled while doing so, taking in the sounds of metal clanging as blacksmiths birthed new weaponry, the inaudible heckling of potential buyers by merchants, the smell of ramen and other traditional dishes that wafted from their respective shops. While today was beautiful and he enjoyed the presence of his people as they went about their daily lives, he was on a mission of particular importance to him. The library was his destination and his grin grew that much wider as he thought of Aoi one of his favorites who undoubtedly would be there in need of help.

A brief detour took him down a familiar alleyway where he would come to a stop at the sight of a small dog rummaging through trash bags someone had carelessly left there. He approached the furry creature slowly, lowering his gate so as to not scare it off. The canine would take notice and rather than run it scurried over to him in an excited fashion, barking in acknowledgement. "Hey little guy! Are you hungry?" , his intentions were to be timely but the sight of an animal in "need" changed things. From one of the pouches on his shorts near the thigh he brought forth a plastic bag. The dog reacted immediately, springing up after it and barking persistently. The smell alone of the dog biscuits inside was probably enough to set the stray off.

With the bag in the left, two digits from his right hand would grasp a treat and present it to the little guy who made short work of it and deposited an ample amount of slobber on the hand that fed him. It bothered Nora none of course and he present another and another in response to the dogs beckoning. A few moments passed as it enjoyed their interactions and the boy couldn't help but pet the animal and laugh a bit at it's clever antics. The thought of Aoi struggling to reach for the top shelves brought him back to reality and implored him to get back on task.

A light patter of footsteps broke the silence of the library near its entrance which had both doors open likely in light of the day's favorable weather. Nora's shadow retreated into the library from the light beyond it and his body followed thereafter. He slowed to a casual stroll as he navigated the main corridor flanked on either side by rows of books, both new and old. He scanned each and every row in passing some were empty as usual while others lent their stores of books to occupants in need of them, although none were the occupant of particular importance to Nora. His search continued about two thirds the span of the entire archive before he finally laid eyes on her, wise old Aoi. Who had stubbornly chosen to attempt shelving a rather large encyclopedia-esque monster of a book from her perch atop one of the rolling ladders. The boy's heart skipped a beat at the site of her stretching out, "Aoi-sama you got started without me?" The question although simple was a clever approach, that both evaded the topic of his tardiness and drew on her kind-heartedness to stop her in her tracks where anything that remotely sounded like telling her to ask for help or like she couldn't do it would incite her to try further.  He bore a grand smile with eyes seemingly shut before they opened to meet the gaze of her own ice blue hues.

"Oh Nora, did they send you to help again? I told them I'd manage." her voice was light, soothing but worn over years of servicing the cloud library. A warm feeling began to build inside of him he likened to an odd pulsing, he probably couldn't quite describe if anyone ever managed to notice and ask, that was tinged with a sense of admiration and respect for her nature, and a sense of duty. The same sense of duty that required him to lend her his arm as a guide during her descent down the ladder. Nora pondered before responding, as was normal for him, wondering whether to tell the truth and if it would make her think him being here was just another mission. "I was told to come," and as expected her wary old smile wilted with disappointment before finding new life as he qualified further,"They wanted me to come on your off day. But it wouldn't feel right not seeing you too, ya know?" He'd hoped to say it a little different, but words never flowed as expected for Oniyuri and judging by the sudden warm, embrace he received they didn't have to.
