Kenta Inuzuka

Kenta Inuzuka

D-rank
Kenta had found some time for a quick training session; finally. The first round was well underway; and as he's set the arena's all over; there was no need for him to sit in one place for insane periods of time. Not until the second round; anyway. So he had a few hours; maybe even a day or two; before it would be time for anything to happen. Perfect. He'd realized recently that while his control of his Water Chakra was gloriously refined; he really didn't have much to work with. Or rather... he had plenty of singular attacks; but nothing to create the water needed for more specialized attacks. It was insane to think he'd always have a large pond, or spring, or river, or some other standing water for his Water Dragon Bullet; or a lake for some of his larger jutsu he was working on. Fuck him sideways if there wasn't a blood lake laying around if he needed his Hydra.

Definitely an over site that could have gotten him killed one day.

So; he'd glanced over the intermediate Suiton scrolls they had in storage; figuring his luck would be best there. Starter Suiton was reliant on standing water; or couldn't give him what he needed. He felt no urge to be forced to carry a summoning scroll filled with water around, either. Better to create his own; anywhere and everywhere he was. Sure, Water Trumpet could do that; but it was too powerful a stream. It would just create a pit of mud; or destroy anything he tried to capture the water in. Useless in a desert, too; the sand would just soak it up. So after a bit of reading, he stumbled across a little gem. Archerfish. So simple. So beautiful. Almost elegant. Quiet nice for him, actually.

He rarely ventured into the public training grounds anymore; but he needed the wide open space. Easier to track the amount of water he was producing that way; nothing to mess up his volume calculations. And hell; easy enough to dig a pit; just a few passes with his Tsuuga and he'd cleared a good 2 acre square pit; down to a depth of 3 feet. The earth was moved via controlled bursts of wind; forming berms that would raise the lip of the pit another 2 feet higher all around. This would give him an amazing swimming pool if he wanted; but that wasn't the point. Or maybe, he would leave it full, call an earth user to create a solid floor; and rechristen this as a Suiton training ground. Lord knows they could use it. Oooh... make specialized grounds for each element...

No wait... not the point. Archerfish. Focus. Right.

Kenta moved towards the far western side of the pit; that would put the sun at his back, for the most part; and dug himself a bit of a seat into the cool; slightly damp earth. Hey, if all he was doing was puking water; might as well be comfortable, right? It was fairly warm; and the cool earth felt amazing. Just.... aaaah.~

Lets see... the scroll said it was just finding the right balance between the air in the lungs and water chakra in the throat. He was familiar enough with the concept; it was the basics of Water Trumpet; only with far less force. You would likely create more water overall with Water Trumpet; but it would be easier to actually use the water from Archerfish.

Alright, now... inhaling deeply just felt good; the air was comfortably warm really; and it was scented sweetly with earth and flowers in the park across the tree break. Inhale slowly and hold. Hold it while his lungs stretched and opened. Now exhale; slowly, easily. Repeat; repeat it until he felt light as a feather; his breathing exercises where amazing for relaxing. He had to know his limit; the line between relaxed and dozing off. He knew it; knew it well; and he pushed himself to that line and held it for a few extra repetitions. A final deep breath and he was ready.

The chakra in his throat was easy enough. Hell; he'd once managed to; successfully even; spew a Water Dragon Bullet from his throat. It... fucked him up for a whiiiile; but he'd done it. Sore throat for a month, no voice for a week, trouble swallowing off and on for a month after that. Fuuun. Time to try this out.

Inhale deeply; feel his lungs expand until they where as full as he could get them without ripping scar tissue. Now... water chakra into his throat; just above the larynx like he liked; where it felt comfortable. That ball of glorious, icy cold that was his Suiton. His water was always nearly ice cold; if he worked with it long enough he really would start creating ice. His uncle had once told him of the heritage of the Ookamizuka; the pack founders that left the snowy lands of the north generations ago; how the clan had melted in a way, transitioned from ice to water over the time in the hot lands of the Grass and Fire Countries. He held the chakra until it felt right; not the swirling ice storm like Water Trumpet, but a gentle flow, something different. His jaw opened and he blew the lungful of air out; moderately strong and as controlled as possible given it was his first attempt.

Not perfect... but workable. The stream was sputtering and more like someone spitting just a mouthful of water out of their mouth; only in much greater volumes. Enough to create a rather nice puddle before he ran out of air. A start, definitely.

So, inhale and hold it. Chakra to the throat; a little more this time. Now, exhale a tad harder, but still firm and even. This time was better; and he created quiet a bit more. The stream still sputtered a tad at the beginning; but now he was holding it for longer, and this time he was able to create a fair 20 foot wide puddle. It wasn't really deep, maybe up to the top of the sole of his sandals at best. A very nice improvement.

He continued this way for a good hour; repeating and adjusting the stream each time. He realized that he did need the stronger concentration of water chakra; closer to Water Trumpet then not. It wasn't the water chakra that needed adjustment. It was the flow of air; gentle and even versus an extreme blast of air. Kenta was floating on his back now; enjoying the start of an awesome, natural pool. The water was a fair 3 feet deep now; perfect for a kiddie pool. “This is nice...” The water was coooold, gloriously so. Distracting too. He forced himself to sit up, shifting a tad on the water and getting back to work. Nearly there; he knew he could get more water before he ran out of breath. He did it all the time.

One more time, one more and then he'd have to try again the next day. Inhale... hold it, hoooold it; now charge the chakra. Little more... little more... take it right up to the edge of the storm and keep it there. Aaaand exhale...

And keep exhaling...

And even more...

Until lungs emptied and a gasp for air was required.

There we go. Now the pool was full; waves gently lapping at the rough tops of the berm around the lip. The water would sink into the ground over the course of a few days; settle right about normal ground level. A three foot pool for training would work. And they where near one of the springs; so they could easily tap into it to keep the pool filled and clean. Yeah... that would work. Rising to his feet, he skated across the surface to the lip and jumped out; shaking like a dog to get the drops clinging to the back of his head. His clothes where soaked; but oh well. He'd dry in the sun over the walk back to the office. Or maybe grab some food before he did.
