The hot springs was a rather awkward place to host a fight. They had also been given a rather strange handicap. No weapons, no items, no swords. Not a problem for Takao, he fought with none of those things. All he needed was his fisticuffs and his jutsu, and even then either one could substitute for the other. At any rate, he had a fight at hand. Whether or not this handicap would impact the outcome of the battle was no longer an issue in Takao's eyes. What's done is done, and this hold back was nothing he needed to worry about.

But still, they were to fight at the bathhouse? The streets had been closed off for the fight and they had a time limit. Takao didn't know the extent of the damage he was allowed to inflict on the poorly chosen battlefield, but he'd try to keep it to a minimum regardless. There wasn't any reason to try and damage property, and hopefully his opponent thought the same.
Takao approached the bath house from above. He landed silently on the flat roof and looked down at the empty street. A few passing villagers had lined up at the ends of the streets to watch the fight, but it didn't seem like his opponent was there yet. Takao took the apparent opportunity to adjust his clothing and prepare himself. He fastened his boots, adjusted his gloves, and removed the coat that would have otherwise hindered him during battle.

Takao sat down on the flat roof and patiently awaited for his opponent's arrival with his eyes closed and his head down. There wasn't much else to do now but wait.

Hiragana was a little let down at the handicap for his match no items at all eh? Well either way he wasnt going to hold back so before leaving his home he took off all his swords and his armor, he also removed his leg pouch before diving out the window and jumping from roof to roof towards the battle grounds for his match, the hidden leaf hot springs. A battle ground that sided with him because of his water based jutsu so that gave him some encouragement that he would have the feild adavantage. As he drew closer, he landed on a roof across from the hotsprings and noticed his oppenent lieing on the roof of the hotsprings with his eye's closed. What a perfect moment to attack it was but a sneak attack wasnt very honorable so he picked up a small rock about the size of an eyeball and chucked it at takao, he then awaited for his oppenents move.

He hadn't quite fallen asleep yet as only a few moments had passed since he closed his eyes. But his attention was immediately directed towards the sudden pain in his right arm. Had he been stung by a bee or something? Takao's eyes opened and he sat up, left hand rubbing the spot on his arm.
"Ow." he said in a less than enthusiastic tone of voice. It hadn't particularly hurt, but it didn't feel good. He pulled his arms back and rolled his body, ultimately vaulting himself into the air using the strength of his upper body and abdomen to get back up onto his feet. A little flashy sure, but there wasn't anything wrong with putting on a show, was there?

"Took you long enough. Get lost enjoyin' the sights or something?" Takao teased as he stretched out his arms and back. Takao wasn't particularly at a disadvantage due to the location. He could create fire anywhere, there was plenty of space for physical confrontation, and his wind jutsu would work to some extent as well. If they proceeded inside, however, he could be a bit more limited. No room for explosions inside a new bath house.
"I'll give you the first move." Takao said as he readied himself into a defensive combat stance. He appeared to be light on his feet and ready to move, as well as block or counter depending on what was thrown at him.

Hira smiled as takao stood up after listening to takao's words he spoke "Kind of a bad idea to be sleeping at this point dont ya think?" He jumped from the roof he was on over to the roof that takao was on. He looked at takao who was now in a defensive stance and from the looks of it, it seemed pretty solid.

Hira stood there in a stance of his own for a moment before forming the tiger seal and then moving his right hand so his arm was vertical above his head and parallel with his body he then uttered the words "Hidden mist jutsu" As a realm of mist formed around the area where him and his oppenent were, it was a shame that the specatators couldnt see but that didnt matter a whole lot he was more focused on takao's next move.

"A power-nap every now and again never hurts." Takao said, a wide smile forming on his face. No swords definitely put Hiragana at a disadvantage, it was likely to be his primary form of offense. Takao was unaffected by the match handicap, but it was still a bit disappointing that the fight couldn't go all out. Maybe this handicap would make Hiragana fight a bit more seriously? Who knows.

As the mist covered the field, Takao's smile faded into a rather serious looking frown. More of a blank expression than a frown, but the seriousness was apparent. "Shit. I forgot how many Kirigakure ninja are prone to using that damn mist. I probably should've come up with a strategy against it while I had the chance..." Takao muttered in thought to himself.
Takao had no wind jutsu to blow away the mist, but he'd heard that the mist was rather persistent regardless of wind jutsu being used on it. So, Takao used the second best thing. He formed a sequence of hand seals and leapt from the roof of the bath house and onto a nearby roof that was a tad taller. From there, he jumped again. All the while he was building and releasing condensed balls of chakra into his hand.

As Takao soared over the mist, he released said five balls of condensed fire chakra towards the bath house. The damage was inevitable, but it wouldn't be too bad. A few holes here and there, nothing that couldn't be repaired. The explosions wouldn't completely consume the mist, but it was likely that anything inside it would be damaged. There was no guarantee that damage would be inflicted though, it was only likely. Takao landed safely on the adjacent roof and awaited the outcome of his attack.

Hira was running lightly through the mist towards Takao's last known position, even though hand to hand combat was not his fortei he would do his best and a punch from him was still enough to knock someone out if landed good and solid. As he was running a fireball broke the mist and landed just a few meters in front of him the explosion not close enough to send him flying back but it did suprise him. "Oh that cant be good..." he muttered to himself before jumping upwards and out of the mist and then landing on a roof across from the roof takao was now on. As he looked at Takao he thought "i wonder what your next move will be." Though he wasnt going to just sit there and wait to see what takao's next move was. He jumped diagonally til he was above takao about a few meters, the gravity between him and takao's would help out with his next jutsu. He kneeded and condesned some chakra in his mouth before spitting out a condensed water ball towards takao. He then landed on a nearby roof.

Takao watched as the balls of flame erupted inside of the mist one at a time. Five in total, creating a large chain reaction of spherical explosions. Nothing quite like the smell of charred wood to wake up the senses. However, Takao had a battle to focus on. He observed Hiragana's leap from the flaming mist to one of the buildings across from Takao. He had ample time to maneuver himself around as Hiragana leapt again, this time towards Takao himself. He wasn't completely unprepared for the balls of water to be fired at him, but he was certainly caught off guard. Takao hadn't seen any hand seals made to mold the chakra, but maybe Hiragana was just that fast.

To evade the balls of water, Takao vaulted himself into a series of back flips. It would look rather unplanned, being on the roof of a building, but he was actually using it to his advantage. Takao put a bit of chakra in his hands and feet, allowing him to stick to the surface of the building as he flipped to the side of the building that wouldn't be seen by Hiragana during his flight. He'd stop himself before falling and them form another sequence of hand seals. This time, a set of five clones appeared at his side, each made from the burning fire of Takao's chakra. One clone returned to the top of the roof as a distraction. The other four followed Takao to the other side of the building, three of the remaining hid near the other buildings. The last clone followed Takao around to the opposite side of the building and waited.

Hira jumped back to a roof about 20meters from Takao's clone which at this point in time he didnt know was a clone, he knelt down on one knee thinking to himself "I wonder what he is planning, i have to be ready for whatever technique he decides to use. Im guessing from the technique ealier it will be fire based. He then ripped a few shingles off the roof of the building he was standing on, and placed them in his back pocket before standing up. He backed up slowly until he was backed up against a water tower, he focused chakra into his feet and walked to the top of it keeping his eye on Takao. He tensed up his body immensily ready to make a quick movement for anything.

Takao was in a good position at the moment. He believed himself to have the upper hand, now that his clones had gone unnoticed. Takao himself and the clone that he commanded beside him would have to stay hidden for as long as possible, and the clones themselves couldn't last forever. In fact, they didn't have much time left. Five was a lot to handle, and he had to order each individually.

The orders to the clones began to flow. With Hiragana backed up against the water tower, the closest clone that hadn't been seen yet jumped from their position to the back of the water tower. Hand seals were made and a fireball was released. No noise was made save for the cracking fire, and the clone disappeared instantly after releasing the flames from his mouth. This was only the beginning of the onslaught that Takao was preparing. The fireball would tear apart the water tower, sending whatever contents inside in every direction. It was unlikely that Hiragana would be harmed by the sudden wave of water that would be sent in every direction due to the fireball approaching from the opposite side.

The clone on the roof took the opportunity to charge. This clone would do nothing more than some basic hand to hand combat while he had the element of surprise. The surprise being the sudden wave of water that flew towards the two. This clone would attempt nothing more than a straight punch to the face. Four clones remained after the attacks, with the only visible clone being the one on the roof - hopefully.

Hira was backed up against the water tower and was suprised when it was suddenly ripped apart and water sent rushing everywhere, the fireball that had went through the water tower had missed his person but the water suprised him and nearly swept him off his feet. As he regained his balance he began to deduce what happened "What the--- Takao didnt even move. Wait a sec, he must have made clones when i wasnt looking but i would have seen them move. They must be hidden." When the clone that Takao sent after him charged him he couldnt tell if this was a clone or the real takao, either way he had to be careful. He dodged the clones punch and did a single backflip. When helanded he reached into his back pocket and pulled out one of the 6 roof shingles he had ripped off ealier and threw it as if it were a kunai at Takao's clones throat.

Takao

Takao

There wasn't much time left for the clones now. Takao predicted that he could only hold the jutsu for a minute longer, if that, and he had barely even gotten to the heart of his planned attacks. It was now or never, it seemed. Takao made the other for the two remaining clones that hid to make themselves known. The element of surprise would be useless if the clones dissipated before they could be utilized properly. These two clones jumped and landed beside the clone on the roof top that had barely avoided the tile projectile that had been thrown like a kunai - and with deadly accuracy to boot. Was such an attack even legal in a fight that didn't allow for weapons or items to be used? Hell, Takao didn't care. This was a fight, and even though he wasn't treating it as seriously as he should've been, it was still a fight. After all, his partner had one hell of a handicap with the restriction on the fight, so Takao couldn't care less if he used whatever he could.

The two clones that stood on either side of the middle clone on the roof began to form hand seals. One inhaled and released a flammable gas that expanded in the air in front of Hiragana, and the other released a small fireball from it's mouth that was meant to ignite the fireball in front. This would hopefully push Hiragana back, and allow for the clone that hid with Takao to strike.
The clone with Takao had been ordered to follow him to the corner of the roof. As soon as the explosion occurred, which would be pretty easy to tell, the clone was literally thrown by the ankles at Hiragana in an attempt to tackle him to the ground. In the same moment, the last remaining clone also rushed Hiragana and attempted to subdue him as well. This was the last planned effort Takao had for the fight, which was saying a lot. He had been winging it up to this point.

If either of the clones could get their hands on Hiragana, they'd do everything in their power to grapple and hold him. Since Takao didn't have a particular talent for grapple styles of combat, it wouldn't be perfect, but it would work to some extent. The real Takao had yet to show himself as well, hopefully holding some element of surprise just in case his other plan failed.

Hira cringed his teeth as the Takao in front of him just barely dodged the tile profectile. A he did two more Takao's appeared next to him, on spitting out a mist which confused Hira as at first it did nothing but he wasnt going to take any chances. He began taking small steps back in case something were to happen and something did happen. The mist exploded into a fireball, and Hira wasnt too suprised though he didnt expect it to do what it just did. Then out of nowhere a clone attempted to tackle him, the clone just barely missed as Hira side stepped. At that moment he noticed another clone rush him, he placed up his guard and as the clone drew near he waited for it to get within a few meters then quickly reached into his back pocket and pulled out another shingle, hurling it in the same manner he did with the previous one right at the clones head. If it missed he would have to counter somehow, in the confusion he wondered where the real Takao was hiding this whole time.

That was it. The clone's time was up, but there was still just a split second to throw in one last attack. As the clone who had been sidestepped regained his balance, he had time for just one last jutsu. Well, that was all the clone was good for anyways. One jutsu. He released a condensed ball of fire from his mouth just before dissipating, due to the chakra being completely depleted. That's all that the clone had left, one single condensed ball of pure burning madness.
The ball was aimed at Hiragana's feet as the last clone was destroyed, erupting into a burning inferno of fire. The orb, no bigger than a tennis ball, would erupt into another explosion just under Hiragana's feet if there was no response. That was it for the clones, but Takao was hoping to hold the element of surprise on his real self for just a bit longer. Using so many jutsu at once tired him out easily, and the time that his clones had taken over was a great opportunity to rest.

But for now, that was it. The last clone had sent an explosive orb at Hiragana's feet and Takao planned on hiding his presence for a little longer.

Hira saw the flame ball coming but the clone that had launched it was too close for him to completly dodge it. As he jumped in the air he had only gotten a few feet off the ground when the ball his, the explosion burned his right foot and about 3inches of his right leg. It wasnt enough to slow him down or alter his movements in anyway but it stung like any other burn and he sure did feel it. As he landed, he wondered when the real takao would show himself. He caught his breathe before standing back up, his right pant leg now black from where the explosion had burned it, he placed his right hand on his right eye and infront of him an eye made of water formed. directly vertical in the air above the hotsprings from water made out of the steam coming off of the springs themselves, he would use this jutsu to find where the real Takao was and plan a sneak attack from there.

There was no longer a reason to hold the element of surprise. Takao couldn't see a reason to, anyways. He sprinted across the side of the building until he was behind Hiragana, and then made the jump from the side of the building onto the roof of the building. He'd land softly behind Hiragana and made a quick attempt to grapple him from behind and hold him in place. Like always though, it was only an attempt. He hoped to have used his hidden presence to his advantage up until this point.

"Nice job dodging all my clones like that!" he'd say during his attempted grappling. "I didn't think they'd of been dispatched so easily, even though I held the element of surprise for so long. Guess I just couldn't hold the clones long enough to plan for a better attack." he said.

As Hira stood there he was able to see the attempted grapple by Takao coming easily, due to his thrid eye hovering above the battlefield. As Takao, drew close to Hira, he quickly and suddenly spun his leg acorss the ground aiming for Taka's legs in an attempt to sweep him off of his feet. After which he backflipped and landed a few feet away facing Takao.

"Yea well.... i didnt dodge them dodge them well enough. He said gestruing to his burnt foot and leg. His right eye was still closed as he had to keep it closed for his third eye jutsu to work, he wondered if this would confuse Takao. Pobably not... As he stood there looking at Takao he slowly and subtly reached into his back pocket grabbing the 4 remaining roof tiles he had stashed away. This fight had to end soon, from the looks of it they were both begining to wear down.

Hiragana had some killer reaction time, Takao honestly wasn't expecting to be evaded so easily. He was even countered with a leg sweep. Impressive! In response to the leg sweep, Takao was actually hit. The leg sweep caught him off guard and knocked him off his feet, although Takao recovered quite easily by vaulting himself back onto his feet with the use of his hands.
I guess the element of surprise doesn't work too well against you.” Takao said, the smile returning to his face. He hadn't had a good fight like this in a long time, since the squad meeting with Kenta at the very least.

So, what now?” he asked while slowly lowering himself into a sturdy offensive-looking stance. Takao didn't have too much fight left in him, but he'd make damn sure that whatever he did have left was put to good use. His jutsu were ready to be used again, save for the clones that had just disappeared completely. “How are we going to decide on a winner? Do we keep fighting until one of us can't go on any longer?

Hira stood there with his right eye still closed, he would have to release his third eye in a short while but for now he could use it to his advantage as long as Takao didnt notice it floating in the air just a few meters above them he could use it to watch Takao's moves from an over view perspective. He had decided to move it a little so it hovered more over Takao and less over him and he used his left open eye to guide it he hoped takao wouldnt notice him looking at it and guiding it to where he wanted it to go. "So the third eye impairs my direct vision but that drawback is worth it to have an eye in the sky, ill just put it to good use for now."

He looked at Takao for a moment and thought about what takao had said then replied "i guess so, this is the first chunin exams iv been in so im not familiar with how this all works out." It was true he wasnt sure how the fight would end but he would do everything he could to end it with his victory if at all possible.

Takao

Takao couldn't figure out why Hiragana was standing with one eye closed. Had the eye been damaged during one of his attacks? The possibility was there, after all, Takao had dealt a great deal of destruction to the surrounding areas. “I guess we'll just have to keep going until one of us out cold.” he said while giving his knuckles and neck a satisfying crack and pop.
With the idea that Hiragana's vision had been impaired, Takao chared at him with all the speed he could muster. “Looks like whatever edge I had over the fight is gone, aside from whatever is wrong with his eye... I'll just have to use a bit of strategy from now on.” he muttered in thought. He is attack would begin by stopping in front of Hiragana and lowering himself down in one fluid motion, then kicking upwards at his chin to get him in the air.

Assuming that Takao's attack would succeed that far, he would jump into the air after Hiragana and attempt to grab his legs, then fire him down into the roof of the building. With no guarantee that his attack would hit, Takao still had a backup plan in the event of a failure.

As Takao charged him he smiled and thought to himself "Ok wait til he is a little closer then throw the roof tiles, hopefully one will hit and stun him" As Takao drew cloes Hira launched the roof tiles at him as if they were kunai's and with good speed. They were slow enough to be dodged but thats why Hira waited until Takao was but a mere 2-3meters in front of him. He threw them one at a time the first aimed for His neck, the next two his chest and the last one at his right knew. If any of them hit then he would follow through with a charge attack of his own, and if they all missed then atleast he could have slowed down Takao enough to get his guard up.

Takao

Takao

S-rank
There it was. Like any sane being would, Takao was expecting Hiragana to have something up his sleeve. Either a dodge, counter, or an attempt to stop him in his offensive advance. His “plan”, per say, immediately went into action. It was really just preparation to evade an attack, but he liked to call it a plan in his head. Takao, in one swift movement, pushed off the ground and vaulted himself over to the side, rolling around to Hiragana's left side. All the while during his roll, Takao formed a sequence of hand seals and released more condensed chakra onto his hand.

He fired the condensed chakra at Hiragana again, five orbs in total. It was the maximum, Takao's limit for the jutsu, but it would suffice for the moment. Two of the orbs would actually fly towards Hiragana this time, while the remainder would land around in in a sequence that was meant to force him into the air. Fighting Hiragana in the air was his best bet at the moment it would seem, or that's just how Takao thought of it anyways.
