”So some idiots decided this was a great time to attack the fortress??” Raishi spoke to himself. It was a nice warm day in Iwagakure, and Raishi had had an early start to the day. He had first started off by training, jogging round the village for a few laps, and then headed off to the mission centre to see if his services were needed at all. He was now on his way to the mission’s point of importance, jumping swiftly from roof to roof. Apparently, a few ninja were seen lurking around the construction area of Bastion Adamantine. At the moment, the current guard there is short on staff, so he cannot fend off any attacks. Raishi felt as if Iwagakure needed more staff, to avoid situations like these. He remembered his old friend Zenchi Kyoga, who had passed on now due to some sort of terminal illness he was born with, and he couldn’t help but appreciate the splendid work the shinobi had done when he was captain of the guards that protected the fortress. Now he was gone, whoever took his place was evidently doing a very mediocre job. Raishi would have volunteered to be the new guard, but that would mean fewer missions, and definitely less sleep! And he totally was not ready for that yet. Anyhow, the mission still stood: he had to go over there and neutralize the threat.

After a few minutes of roof hopping, he finally arrived at the construction site of the fortress. He could only see one guard on duty which was a show of the blatant mediocrity that was going on in the service. He then made his way to the two men, a bright smile on his face.”Hello there, I am Kanetsu, Raishi. I was sent here to help you out” Raishi said to him. He couldn’t help but notice that this person who was on guard of the fortress seemed awfully tired, with black bags weighing his fatigued eyes down. It was obvious that he was more or less asleep drift in between reality and the realm of dreams, yet he was still able to greet Raishi happily with a smile, as if relieved to finally have company:”They finally sent someone! This job is no easy one; the isolation, the silence, the anxiety of an impending attack…that reminds me! I have no idea who the men are or why they are here, and I can’t leave this post just in case they try to pull some tricks because eI’m the only one on duty. Could you please investigate?". The man spoke with slumber on his tongue, and Raishi couldn’t help but feel absolutely sorry for th worn out man. Guard duty was definitely not a fun one. Raishi had been on guard duty once, and it was absolutely dreary- he couldn’t even last 5 minutes! He gave the guard a nod and headed off, hoping to complete the mission as soon as possible. Taking the man’s orders, he then took a large jump towards one of the fortress walls. Now on the wall, he looked down upon the ground, searching for the mysterious men that were attacking. Based on what the mission scroll had scribed in it, there were supposed to be 5 men in total, but Raishi could only spot 3, which was definitely strange. He decided to go down and see what the men were up to. Of course, he had kunai ready in each hand just in case the men decided to attack. At least if it does come to that, I’d easily take them out.. he thought to himself, the images of Chu Bu from about a month ago still entrenched deep in his head. He signalled at the guard on the other wall, pointing down at the direction of the 3 mysterious men. The guard gave him a slow nod and Raishi jumped down gracefully towards the men.

Raishi landed with a soft thud right behind the three guys and said cooly, ”What on earth do you think you’re doing?". He then spun the two kunai on his hands, taking a stance, ready to attack. Surprisingly, as he looked at the three boys, they looked quite young and rather frightened. So frightened in fact, that they looked almost…innocent. The three men spun round quickly, their bodies filled with trepidation as they attempted to speak in unison. ”Please, please please! D-d-don’t at-ttack! We did nothing, please!! It was the other two! Please!!”. As they begged, Raishi noticed the glints of tears coming down from tow of the boys’ faces, and it was then that he began to feel sorry for them. It was obvious that these boys were merely pawns in the plans of the other two. They were more victims than anything, of the two men that had been seen lurking around the fortress. But he was still a bit confused. They obviously knew what was going on, and were shocked by how wrong the thing the other two were doing was. If not, then they would not have been so scared of Raishi when he dropped in. But what exactly was the it that the other two had planned and dragged these poor should into? He looked at the boys again, this time with a slight smile because he felt sorry for them.What exactly did they plan to do. This time, only one of the boys spoke to reply him and they seemed to have calmed down. With a annoyingly loud sniff, and a wiping of his face, the boy then said guiltily ”We honestly didn’t know that what they were planning to do was so bad! We thought it was just some harmless prank you know? Maybe spray paint or whatever. But when we found out that they actually wanted to smash it down, that’s when it finally hit us that we couldn’t be a part of it anymore. We said we would tell if they continued on with he plan, but they threatened to kill us!" as the guy spoke, ore and more tears gushed out of his eyes and by this point, Raishi was utterly annoyed by how much of a baby the kid was being. Of course he didn’t show this out because it would only cause the boy to cry more and more, so he just had a consoling smile on his face before he then asked the boy.”So where are they now?. The kid who replied before was just about to answer, but a look of alarm on his face, and the sound of a shuriken slicing through the air gave Raishi his answer already. Turning round swiftly, Raishi easily deflected the shuriken with his kunai. There about 6m in front of him were the two guys who were responsible for terrorising the younger ones into blowing up the fortress. Of course, Raishi was prepared to take them down if he had to, but he wanted to first reason with the men, to try and understand why exactky they wanted to blow it up. Was it out of boredom? Or was it because of some other significant reason? He wanted to know. He called out to the pair, hoping they would respond to him. They had somewhat cynical grins on their faces as if they were pleased with themselves which definitely was not a good sign. ”Do you want to tell me why you want to take out the fortress? It was put here for a purpose..to protect every single person within these village walls, civilian and shinobi alike. So why jeopardise people’s safety?. He asked calmly and with a slight tinge of honesty as well as hostility, because he actually wanted to know what kind of demon would possess the guys in front of him to destroy s structure that protected them as well. It was only one of the men that replied, his tone of slight annoyance as he smirked, ”This is our clan’s land! We weren’t asked for permission before this construction took place. It is a show of utter disrespect to build on another man’s land and not only do we want it taken down, we want an apology letter from the Tsuchikage himself! If it is not taken down, then we will take it down with force!” . You have got to be kidding me Raishi thought to himself, looking at the two idiots in from of him. Not only were they absolute dullards, but they were dullards who thought they understood how life worked.It was obvious now who he was dealing with. He was dealing with a couple of ignorant and selfish twats who just wanted to flex inexistent muscle they didn’t have. Well, that’s their reason he thought to himself, deciding that trying to reason with these idiots was going to yield no fruit. There are just some people in the world that just cannot be reasoned with, and the two morons in front of him were prime examples of this subspecies of the human race. ”I know that there is no point in trying to reason with you, so I will ask you one more time. Stop this and leave now, or I will be forced to treat you as hostile towards our village he spoke bluntly, his voice cold but yet there was a juxtaposed smile on his face.The two of them merely stood there, as stubborn as mules, unmoved by Raishi’s threat. They obviously think I’m joking.. he thought to himself. It was time to show them that despite the smile on his face, he definitely was not joking. ”Very well then…”. Looking round, Raishi was aware that the other three kids had run away, most likely to their parents and homes so there was no other person there apart from the guard who was on top of the wall. He’s probably asleep he chuckled to himself. The two men in from of him got ready for an attack, taking their stances as Raishi yawned and stood casually. This was definitely going to be fun.

n a flash, Raishi threw both kunai that were in his hands at the two men before him, aiming straight at the middle of their chests. Both men then jumped in opposite directions in order to dodge the kunai that was aimed at them; the left gy jumped to the left while the guy on the right jumped to the right. They both then charged towards Raishi, hoping to get him by surprise and Raishi was actually impressed by how quick they were. Nonetheless, he had more experience in combat than they did evidently and he was definitely not about to lose a fight to some hooligans. He merely did a few handsprings, until there was now a 10 meter gap between him and the young men where he then slid to a stop and began weaving quick hand seals. It was no use wasting his more advanced jutsu that caused him to expend too much chakra, because these men just weren’t worth it. And besides, he didn’t want to kill the young men. With he proper grooming, they would grow up to become fine shinobi if they let go of the weight of stupidity and arrogance that hung heavily on their backs. Because of this, he spat out 4 lava globs at his opponents as they ran towards him. Each lava glob was aimed at their waists and their necks. Of course, Raishi was actually not expecting them to dodge that jutsu from such close range, but they surprisingly did. Both men jumped high, throwing a total of 10 shuriken towards Raishi at the peak of their jumps, before using the Supernatural Walking technique to land on the side of the wall of the fortress. Not bad.. Raishi thought casually, quickly taking out a kunai from his pouch and deflecting the shuriken, as well as dodging some. Unluckily for him, he was a bit too casual in dodging, and one shuriken ended up making a very shallow cut on his face. It was not deep enough to cause blood to spurt out, but it was still a caught nonetheless. Not bad at all.. he thought, looking up at the boys as they ran towards him on the side of the wall.

The two boys then quickly jumped off the side of the wall, smug looks on their faces knowing that they had just cut Raishi. Raishi jumped as well, launching himself straight at the boys with two kunai in his hand. Even in the air, the two boys threw a total of four shuriken at Raishi, but he merely deflected them away, untouched. Now alarmed, the two boys suddenly both wielded two kunai, bracing themselves fro impact with Raishi. A big clang was heard as they successfully blocked Raishi’s kunai swing mid air, but they were taken aback when they each had one foot on their chests. Raishi then pushed off of them, causing them to fall back and as he glided in the air, he did a backflip and simultaneously threw the two kunai at each boy. Raishi landed on the ground again, gracefully and looked at the boys to see how they dealt with the situation. One of the boys had completely lost their balance due to Raishi using them as sort of launchpads midair, so he bounced off the side of the wall, and landed hard on the ground.But even before he crashed on the ground, he let out a scream of pain as the kunai that he hadn’t realised had followed him, got him right in his right deltoid. The other boy however, had somehow managed to balance himself on the wall once more, and slid to a stop there. He had also managed to closely merely dodge the kunai, as it had only flew passed his face, causing a cut deep enough of some blood to trickle out of. Raishi merely smiled at both boys as he saw they looked at him with the utmost hatred. The boy on the wall launched himself once more towards Raishi, this time foot first which seemed to be some kind of kick. Raishi waited for him this time and simply side stepped as he landed. Taking advantage of his momentum, Raishi the spun and grabbed the man’s neck in the process, tossing him back towards his friend with the kunai in his shoulder. He then charged towards them, even as the boy he threw was still in the air, because he was sure the boy would get his balance. Sure enough, the boy landed just about balanced but by then it was too late. Raishi spun round to do a roundhouse kick, the kicking hitting both faces of the boys quickly, one after the other. Due to the force of the kick, the boys merely fell backwards, completely knocked out. Raishi wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead as he looked down at them. They could’ve been fine shinobi, but instead chose to dabble in their own idiocy. It was a sad story indeed. Oh well he sighed, before calling down the guard to call for help to carry the bodies of the men to the Admin building for questioning. At that very second, Raishi saw in his peripheral one last man was attacking him from behind. He spun round in a roundhouse kick, hitting the kid which caused him to fly back, To Raishi’s surprise, it was the boy who had been crying from earlier, and he had a kunai in his hand. Quite the actor he thought to himself, looking at his unconscious body. His mission was finally complete.
