Yasutake

Yasutake

D-rank
The Administration Building was quite far from his home when he thought about it. It was always such a drag to have to go from his house to the Administration Building and then out wherever his new mission took him. It was a time consuming process and although it'd be very easy for him to utilize the Body Flicker Technique to get to places faster, he didn't particularly enjoy utilizing it. It kind of felt like he was cheating life, he couldn't explain if he were ever to be asked.

Today, his mission seemed to be somewhat difficult. His assignment was... A C-Rank. His first ever, and for a moment his eyes unfocused at the unspoken challenge while he read the scroll. Am I really ready for this? Unable to contain his excitement, he was already imagining the images of battle that he would be participating in.

Those that had distributed the mission to him had explained in the briefing that they assumed they were acting in such a way in rising tensions due to the nearing of the Chuunin Exams. Although they were done traditionally for celebrating peace between the ninja nations, the rules still stood that you were able to kill your opponent. The Chuunin Exams were a way to measure the strength of the neighboring countries. The fact that they were so close probably left many genin unprepared and unwilling to die.

Cowards. He thought to himself, as he came to a halt, sliding across a rooftop and crouching. But the Chuunin Exams didn't matter in that moment, what mattered was the beating he was about to be handing out.

It was practically the evening. Most people were inside their homes, or on their way homes to be with their families and friends, and this was when the less pleasant denizens of the village decided to come outside. Which suited him fine, it just helped his mission, or so he thought.

Below him, were two genin. One was maybe fifteen, the other probably just graduated from the Academy. Fresh meat? He questioned mentally, before sliding off the roof and delivering a quick kick to the older, taller one into the wall behind him. There was no peaceful intentions in this situation, he wanted answers before he reached his deadline, and he wanted them as soon as possible. Violence was a language that everybody understood, and because of that, from a young age Yasutake understood that he should learn to speak that language... So to speak.

The child reacted quickly when his counterpart was kicked in the head; he ran away. But not before Yasutake's foot was slid in front of the youngster's legs and he lifted it up and roughly threw up the child from underneath his feet with Yasu's own foot. The kid was light, it was easy to do.

He landed with a crunch and was surely knocked out. The first one, the older one was trying to get back up, and with a single step Yasutake pressed his foot against the other genin's ankle, crushing it with his full weight and in response, he received a screech of pain.

"You're not so big and strong now, huh?" He chuckled. He was fairly disappointed the two hadn't been much of a challenge, but that was the way of Kirigakure shinobi, wasn't it? They were masters of the silent kill, even if they didn't specialize in it, they were probably the best assassins in the whole Shinobi World.

"I want to know where your leader is, and the rest of your gang." Whether his captive was going to be answering him right away, he didn't know, nor did he care, he stomped on his ankle the moment his mouth opened up. What if he had been about to tell the truth? Well, then he certainly did seem like the bad guy here. But if he was about to lie, well he was the good guy... Kind of. Either way, the stomp was a way to remind him to not lie.

It was a tough world they lived in. Yasutake was sure these two partners understood.

"T-t-they're meeting tonight a-aat...at... the Lake." Yasutake's head tilted to the side in question, as if he were dearing the young shinobi to repeat himself in case of a lie, but there was no additional information. He had gotten what he wanted, so he removed his foot from the ankle that he had stomped on multiple times before throwing out behind him as he walked away; "stop chasing away the merchants and visitors."

And then he began to run towards the gates. The gates should only be open until the next hour, he didn't have a lot of time left the moon was already in the sky. He growled, as he sprinted through the gates...

He arrived at the Lake. In the distance he heard the voices carrying along the lake towards him. Morons. He already slipped out his kunai as he leapt over the branches and then slid down behind a fallen tree, as close as he dared to go. Intel did say their leader was a Chunnin after all.

Glancing out over the fallen tree that was little more than a gigantic log at this point, he spotted there were four other genin, and the Chunnin had his back to them, and thus Yasutake. He smiled.

The kunai sped through the air from his location straight the spine of the Chunnin. Past two of the genin, and for a moment, nothing happened, but then those two split off and were already running back for the Village, while Yasutake leapt over the log and drew out his three shuriken from his pouch.

For a moment, he thought he was going to have the drop on all of them and eliminate them, but he was wrong. The two remaining genin turned to release their suiton techniques, what they were he couldn't tell and in the dwindling light he couldn't see the hand signs that well.

The closer one was already running towards him. He was probably the one that specialized in taijutsu. It was too late to avoid the water, so he dove to the side, but his right side was still struck by the water which forced him into a spin.

It brought him straight into a powerful upwards kick from the taijutsu guy. Damn.

Yasutake spun through the air and landed heavily on his back. He even felt that he bounced upwards and slid a few more inches. He was in pain, at least the Chunnin was already out cold, or so he thought.

When eh crept back up to his feet, he saw the taijutsu user running back towards him, Yasu still held his three shuriken. He threw one past the face of the taijutsu user. He knew he'd look away for only a moment to dodge the shuriken, in that moment he somersaulted back to his feet and kicked out his knees as he used his body as he temporary meat shield against the water that slapped against his friend's behind.

Curving his left hand around his meat shield's body, he released both of the shuriken at the ninjutsu specialist, dropped his meat shield's body, who slowly got back up, only to crawl away from the scene.

The suiton user was in the middle of his hand signs when he was cut on both sides of his face, and when he felt the blood, he paled and ran off.

All done. He thought to himself as he turned to look at the body of the Chunnin.

...

It was gone. In it's place was a log with the kunai in it's back. He was confused, when had the Chunnin found the time to do such a thing? He growled again, and he heard it before he could move.

The wind style jutsu sent him sprawling across the floor again and he nearly fell into the water as he opponent leapt onto him with a barrage kicks and punches.

In that time Yasutake was brought up to his feet from his throat, and he struggled against it as the Chunnin choked him, and for a moment he stopped strugglign as he practically willed the raiton chakra out and along his body thanks to the Wave of Inspiration technique, which shocked and burned the hands of the Chunnin.

It was a surprise, and as someone who specialized in suiton, he was certian to have second degree burns rather than first degree, and in his surprise at the strength of the Hattori's power, his body spun around, and his leg lashed out to nail him in his genitalia, and when he crumpled forwards, his knee came flying upwards to crunch his nose.

"Quit your stupidity with the merchants." A heavily breathing Yasutake Hattori said. He collapsed to his knees and crawled over to the log to retrieve his kunai. "If you continue, I'll have a new mission to kill you." And he struggled up to his feet, and trudged towards the Chunnin's body as he grabbed his headband and cut it off his head.

"You don't deserve this." And he threw it into the lake beside them as he trudged away and into the fog. He wasted enough time there, he had to hurry back to the city now before they closed the gates on him.
