Dameon

Dameon

The day had started off like any other but there was a certain chill in the air. It was a feeling like something bad could happen at any moment. The streets were quieter than usual and the overcast weather across the village gave way to an empty pit in your stomach. Yet despite all this he stood on top of the highest part of the administration building overlooking the village seemingly waiting for things to go awry. The village had a lot of threats just outside the wall these days between the Daimyo’s hired goons and the Shikyo Four that were still hunting him down. It was only a matter of when and where they would make their move and today was as good of a day as any other. Dameon knew he could very well spend all day sensing all those that came through the front gate for potential threats but then he would be weak from loss of chakra if one of them did turn out to be a threat. So with his hands tied he would be forced to sit back and wait and just respond accordingly, though he doubted either one of those groups would just go for a direct assault and were more likely to pull off something from the shadows. So Dameon stood there with his arms crossed as he gazed toward the front gate to the village it was then that he heard someone else approaching, most likely one of his men in ANBU.

“Sir this letter was sent to you. It is apparently urgent,” The young ANBU said as he handed over a white envelope with Dameon written on the front of it. Dameon took the letter and opened it carefully unsure of what it could be about or what details would be inside.

”Very good. Get pack to your post,” Dameon ordered as he waited for his subordinate to leave before he would open up and read the latter. The man would bow his head and take off in the same direction that he had come from. Dameon took the letter out and unfolded it to read the contents. It was a simple message simply stating a destination and time. At the bottom of the letter was a signature of ‘S4’. So the day had finally arrived, the day where the Shikyo Four would make their move. He knew involving anyone else would be dangerous. If they wanted to assault the village they would have already done so. So the group was keeping things covert after all. Dameon sighed as he looked in the direction of the destination he was being asked to meet them in just a few minutes. It made him wonder how they knew the letter would reach him so quickly. He supposed they had thought this move out carefully which meant things would only get more difficult from here on out. With that thought ended he jumped from the top of the building so he could arrive early to the meeting.

Dameon would run and leap from building to building before finally landing in the alleyway outside the place where he was supposed to be meeting. It was a tea house, something he never really expected. It would be crowded and full of witnesses though that could also be the purpose, collateral. Though as he turned the corner there wasn’t a single person in the tea house just a single person sitting inside wearing a cloak so he couldn’t see who it was with the way the shadows hid the persons face. He slowly walked in keeping his senses wide open noticing that the only person there was the owner. This person had apparently bought out the tea house for this meeting and that explained why they would be the only ones close by. It was unsettling that they had this much influence even for outsiders to the village which meant they had a lot more money than he had thought. Dameon sat reluctantly across from the cloaked figure with his back to the entrance to the building. As he sat down her features exposed themselves more. In turn she would lower the hood on her cloak exposing her face and hair. Right away he already knew who she was. Both their faces level with one another like they were both trying to get a read on the other. His emotionless glare matched by hers, it was very odd and he was curious just who was going to start the conversation.

“Dameon Shikyo,” She said as she crossed her hands while resting them on the table. Her face still displaying no emotion despite having now come face to face with the same person she had been hunting for a while now. She felt unsatisfied; the infamous Dameon Shikyo from the village of destruction and ruin was a skinny and overconfident fool like all of those from the village hidden in the mist. She scoffed at the idea that one of their blood could be so easily turned into a puppet of the military. That was beside the point now she was prepared to change all of that for good.

”Fuyu Shikyo,” he responded back almost immediately after. He knew this was her just from what he had learned about the other clans from Zeta himself. Though she looked nothing like her younger sister he could determine it was her without the slightest shadow of a doubt. It was all in her demeanor, she was cold and calculating not unlike himself. An awkward silence would fill the air as their wills clashed against one another in an unseen battle between two extremely determined souls. The pressure in the atmosphere was so sick you could cut it with a knife, even the owner of the establishment who had been showing himself had vanished into the back offices away from them.

”Well you finally made your move to confront me. Though I still only have assumptions what this is actually about. Care to fill me in?”

“Certainly, we want you to join us and share your strength and knowledge with us or die and pass your knowledge onward,”

“How blunt, no dinner first?”

“You’ve never been one for small talk so why bother?”

”I suppose you are correct. Either way to acquire this information I have to die so why would I join you before I die as opposed to just dying?

“Good question. You know as well as I do that if you died the succession of Zeta would pass on randomly. If we killed you after extracting this information however we know one of us four would have that information.”

”Speaking of you four. Where are the others?”

“They are around. You see we came prepared Dameon. You will either join us or meet us peacefully beyond the walls of the village or those other three will each take out and important part of the village in an act of terrorism. Half of us would rather you come peacefully, the other half would rather destroy the village you swore to protect, but all of us will do whatever it takes to acquire the information from Zeta.”

”That isn’t much of a deal. I either die…now or die later. The only option is how many die along with me. You carefully thought this out didn’t you? Yet all four of you believe my clan is the clan of destruction. What makes you think I care about the people in this village?”

“I will admit we very much hate those of the raiton clan. However I am willing to bet that your time in Kiri has made you soft and that you have at least something in this village you care about. Aside from that your entire clan can burn in hell for all I care,”

”Seems I don’t really have much of a choice do I? How soon do we meet outside of the village?”

“You have an hour. Spend that time wisely, we have ears everywhere if we catch wind you informed anyone else we will destroy the village. Keep in mind our first target is the academy,”

”Very well,” Dameon said still displaying no emotion on his face. This action had already been anticipated by him. They had indeed attacked from the shadows and now it was time for him to leave the village to figure what this was really all about. He would not let himself die in their hands but he would learn as much as he can so he could destroy the group at an expected time in the future. Though that would be much easier said than done. Dameon took a sip of the tea in front of him. He knew he had to inform the Mizukage of his situation or one could easily see this as a defection which was something he would never do. Though trying to inform her of the situation put everyone at risk and he couldn’t let people die for him, it was something he would never be able to live with.

Finally, Yunah got a break from all of the shit that has been going on recently. When she wasn't being swamped with missions, she was stuck doing the ridiculous and most of the time unorthodox methods of training from dameon. But, today she was free to do whatever she wanted. No training, No missions. Free as a bird, and she already had most of her day planned out. first she had to get up though. With that bit of freedom in her mind she hopped out of bed and put on her usual outfit, breastplate and all, as well as her kirigakure headband around her neck, plainly visible to anyone who saw her. It was funny, when she first came to the village she had no pride in her status as a shinobi and was only really here to get information on her sister. But, as time passed, she was slowly growing more and more prideful of her badge. with her typical outfit on, she walked out the door, with the sun already in the air. She didn't have anything to do today, and she had already taken advantage of that by sleeping in. Now, however, she was on her way to her favorite tea shop in the entire village. It wasn't the best tea shop, nor was it the most expensive...  it wasn't even the most popular. Just the atmosphere it gave off, and how the owner was always so nice to Yunah, it reminded her of home, and for that reason it was her favorite.

It took yunah almost no time at all to reach there. however, once she got there she almost immediately noticed something different. It was quiet. While this wasn't a popular shop by any means, and yunah typically came here because it was quiet, it was never this quiet. Yunah's pace slowed to a crawl as she creeped up next to the open door, making no sound at all. what she heard paralyzed her instantly.

”Fuyu Shikyo,” Yunah's body felt cold. her palms began to sweat. It was dameon's voice that was for certain, but was it really her sister? she wanted to reach for her sword, but her body wouldn't move... she was scared.

”Well you finally made your move to confront me. Though I still only have assumptions what this is actually about. Care to fill me in?”

“Certainly, we want you to join us and share your strength and knowledge with us or die and pass your knowledge onward,” it was definitely her voice.

If we killed you after extracting this information however we know one of us four would have that information.” wait. Zeta? Dameon had Zeta? Does that mean that he is a shikyo? That was certainly and interesting thing to hide from Yunah. Although she didn't think much of it. She could only wonder what clan he was from.

What makes you think I care about the people in this village?” Dameon, i-is from the raiton clan? Yunah felt shocked. he didn't seem very destructive, and he had helped yunah willingly. But, it makes sense from someone from the destruction clan to be in a shinobi village, especially at a higher rank. He must be good at what his clan does. A small bit of resentment towards Dameon began to build up. All of the lies yunah had been told growing up flooded her mind. Her inherited hate for raiton clan, now made her hate 2 people in the tea shop, and not just one.

“I will admit we very much hate those of the raiton clan. However I am willing to bet that your time in Kiri has made you soft and that you have at least something in this village you care about. Aside from that your entire clan can burn in hell for all I care,”

”Seems I don’t really have much of a choice do I? How soon do we meet outside of the village?” wait, he didn't want to see the village be destroyed? Yunah was more confused than anything else. Dameon had shown her kindness, and trained her, if even only a little bit. She was his student. But, he was also a part of the raiton clan. She was confused, and didn't know what to do, she wanted to kill him, but thank him as well.

“You have an hour. Spend that time wisely, we have ears everywhere if we catch wind you informed anyone else we will destroy the village. Keep in mind our first target is the academy,”

”Very well,” Yunah finally found it in her to move. The thought of her sensei going off to sacrifice himself for the village, was enough to temporarily make her forget that he was of the raiton clan. And, in that moment she remembered everything her sister has done to her. Her uncle. Her parents. Leaving her behind to fend for herself. She wasn't going to let her take something else from her. The sound of Yunah's blade being drawn cut the silence like a knife. She drew her blade as she entered the tea shop, charging as fast as she could managed at her sister. Her body shaking, as a few tears streamed down her face. the only words she could say were "FUYU!" anger and pain very apparent in her eyes, as she went for the kill.

It seemed like both of them had dropped their guard as they sat there measuring each other. His student had not only discovered them but had also rushed in blindly without thinking. Dameon didn’t even bother to turn around and face her and Fuyu’s expression remained as blank as in even as she had charged in screaming her name. There was something else in her eyes something cold like a sociopathic gaze to someone they once knew. In some ways it was a lot like his own stare, it was like he was staring at the future he could have been led to if he hadn’t made it to Kiri. Dameon also knew he couldn’t allow Yunah to get in the way, he swore to himself as she continued to rush in. He would quickly draw his kunai and spin it around and strike her with it in the stomach and then the back of the neck just below the nerve stem on the back of her neck. He would strike her with the blunt end of the kunai obviously not wanting to kill her or harm her intensely. The attack on her would instead knock the wind out of her and cause disorientation. The speed of his attack would be too quick for her to react to especially in her blind rage. Dameon exhaled as he caught his student so she wouldn’t collapse onto the floor. Dameon turned around to Fuyu again who was now standing though still showing no interest in what was going on.

“Oh little sis, you are always so reckless. I’m surprised you are even here last I heard you were still in Suna. I guess you move quicker than I thought even with your short legs,” Fuyu said as she stood up and walked past the two of them. The handle to her sword peeking out over her right shoulder but the cloak covering it completely. Dameon observed what he could of the sword and noticed it was considerably large.

“I suppose you stopped her to save her life or the lives of the people we have in our grasp. It is all the same though I suppose. I don’t wish to kill her so since she will undoubtedly inform the superiors of the situation you now have twenty minutes to meet us outside the village. I suggest you get going you know as well as I do that we don’t have a lot of time,” Fuyu said as she exited the tea shop and quickly vanished with her shunshin. Dameon swore again he was going to use the time to try and inform everyone that needed to know of the situation but not he had little to no time at all. Dameon helped Yunah out the front as well, halfway carrying her outside. He would then lay her down on the ground before he pulled his fingers into his mouth and blowing a loud whistle. Within moments ANBU would arrive.

”I need you to take her to the Mizukage in fifteen minutes. Not before then, she has intel that the Mizukage needs to hear but the safety of the village relies on when the Mizukage is told the information. If she finds out too soon we risk a lot of civilian causalities. Do you understand my orders?” Dameon asked as he looked at the two ANBU men that had shown up.

“Yes sir,” They said saluting as they looked after Yunah kneeling down to her to help her control her breathing and also make sure that she didn’t try to move. Dameon nodded and vanished as well with a shunshin. He had only fifteen minutes remaining and he had some things to set in motion before he could go out with his soon to be captors. He wrote information written on a letter and tied it to the leg of one of their messenger birds the bird would fly off to Kumo and hopefully under the radar but he would make sure the bird never took off for Kumo for another fifteen minutes or so. Dameon took off once again and entered his own home to gather a few things before taking back off to the main gate. Dameon walked through the gate and headed into the forest to bypass the outer limits. He could sense all of their presences so he knew he was heading the right direction. He hoped that he could infiltrate them to learn as much as possible but he also knew that there was a chance that this could end very badly. Even so he needed to take the chance it came with the job description after all.
