Ryuji Uchiha

Ryuji Uchiha

D-rank
That morning Ryūji had felt inspired to train something other than his Taijustu, so instead of practicing in the garden he headed to a secluded area a little ways outside of Konoha. In the last couple of practice sessions with other Genin the Uchiha had felt he underperformed, he was not the worst but he had also felt he was not the best.

As he walked he looked around, noticing the day was miserable. Even though it was midday the sky was painted a sickly gray, and the rain was falling heavier than Ryūji had ever seen. It wasn't the best weather that he had ever trained in, but he felt a lot more comfortable fighting in it.

The Uchiha wondered on what to practice. Ninjutsu seemed the best option, but the difficult choice was whether to practice Suiton or Raiton based Jutsu. The area he had chosen to train in was a flat meadow next to a flowing river, with the water being a good source for his Jutsu. But for some reason he wasn't feeling up to it.

At that moment Ryūji began to think. Practicing something general he'd been taught from the Academy would not be too much help in battle, he needed a Jutsu which would provide him an edge against the other competition. He began to remember past lessons taught by his mother.

Yuna Uchiha had not always belonged to the Uchiha clan, but to a clan which specialized in Ninjutsu, where she had spent much of her Kunoichi life learning lightning-based Jutsu. One skill she had attempted to teach Ryūji was called the Thunder Burst Jutsu – not exactly an imaginative or correct name but one which his mum had felt worked. When he was young he had found it terribly hard to even attempt it, but now he was older he felt like he could at least try.

First of all he took the correct stance. He made sure his legs were spaced out far enough, and put his hands close together. He thought back to the Academy when he'd been instructed on how to control and mold chakra. His mother had always pointed out this part was the reason he failed the jutsu, but now he felt confident he could perform it. The young Genin clasped his hands together to form a generic hand-sign, attempting to enhance his chakra control.

It took a while to get use to, but he finally got the hang of it. When he was sure that he had gathered enough - he braced himself, and then he released the lightning-infused chakra. At first it seemed as if the dome had been successfully generated, with lightning pulsing out from his body, but it faded out less than a meter away from his body.

Ryūji couldn't help but sigh, he didn't expect to master the technique first try but he thought he'd at least have done a little better. ”Maybe I need to do some exercise first, try and get into the correct frame of mind. But maybe it would be best to practice another time.” he whispered to himself. The young Uchiha paced around the training area, trying to think of what to do next.

He decided to practice one last time, but it ended up the same way before with no noticeable improvement. The whole experience was leaving ”I'll come back tomorrow, maybe I'll be better then.” he thought to himself, before heading back home.
