Clan: Mineraru

Kekkei Genkai: Mineraru Henshin

Elements: Earth (Primary)

Specialization: Ninjutsu and Taijutsu

Location: Scattered

Clan History: Many years ago, The Mineraru clan was one of the most honored and revered clans of Iwagakure No Sato. They were great warriors who had gained such a deep connection with the minerals of the Earth element, that their bodies could gain properties of minerals, This ability was regarded as one of the greatest prides of Iwagakure, that is, until one day, a member of the clan had been captured by Kumogakure in an extraordinarily bloody battle. This shinobi, having seen such horrors, only wished for peace, and didn't care which side won, so he divulged information to Kumogakure, and was released after the war was over. When Iwagakure found that he had divulged sensitive information the clan's reputation had been completely destroyed, on top of their poor performance in the war, this caused much of the clan to leave the village to work as wandering mercenaries, with some branches settling down in the various other villages. The descendants of that one Mineraru shinobi who caused this trouble years ago are still in Iwagakure, working to redeem the Mineraru name.

Kekkei Genkai Description: After many years working with the earth element and it's minerals, the Mineraru began developing an extraordinarily close bond with the element. They learned to manipulate the element with their body, progressing in mastery of the Earth and metal until they could completely change their bodies into the earth's minerals. This ability has also been developed to allow clan members to transform only part of their bodies into minerals. Since the clan is so used to dealing with the weight of heavy minerals, all clan members get a +1 tier bonus to strength, this bonus goes up to +2 tiers after reaching B-Rank, this ablitity was adapted by part of the clan to adapt/trade this extra strength to make their skin and innards naturally rougher and more durable. Referred to as the Neribei gene. If you take the Neribei Gene, the strength bonus of the clan is replaced with an endurance bonus scaling in the same fashion, +1 tier and once reaching B-Rank going up to a +2 tier bonus. In character applications, you must put Traditional or Neribei gene beside clan name, this can only be changed once after character creation, once B-Rank is reached, you may choose to keep your current gene or request for it to be changed.

Drawbacks: Due to the clan's extreme focus on ninjutsu and taijutsu, the Mineraru have little understanding of Genjutsu, so they cannot learn Genjutsu as a specialization and all genjutsu attacks have a +1 rank bonus against clan members. The clan being heavily based in the Earth element, all Raiton attacks have a +1 rank bonus against clan members at all times.  They must also take Hesitant for both specialization and Elemental release and cannot be balanced with a positive characteristic.

C-Rank: Limestone: all physical non-chakra based attacks -1 damage rank; suiton ninjutsu attacks -1 damage rank; Signs: Serpent;

B-Rank: Marble; all physical non-chakra based attacks -2 damage ranks; all non-raiton ninjutsu attacks -1 damage Rank; Signs: Serpent, Tiger

The Justu is Broken when it is hit by a technique of one or more ranks higher than itself and must go through cool down before further use.
Since the user of this technique is focused on physical power while using this technique, they are even more susceptible to genjutsu, increasing the clan modifier to   +2 effectiveness for all genjutsu, stacking with any other genjutsu penalties/modifiers. [/spoiler]

Mineral Transformation Technique:

-For Rank, instead of "scaling', put "C-S"

-In the duration section, also include how much chakra is expended per post to maintain the jutsu at each rank.

-Cooldown should be Duration x 2. We don't really deal in percentages.

-Follow the jutsu guidelines regarding stat modifiers with jutsu ranks. You are missing necessary drawbacks within the jutsu itself to balance the modifiers.

-Jutsu don't do damage in tiers, they do damage in ranks. Only stats operate in tiers.

-The jutsu will need quite a substantial drawback to balance out its utility, but there is nothing in it that is completely undoable.

-I have no idea what you are trying to say with the senjutsu bit though @_@

The other jutsu:

-Detail what attacks exactly it can block.

-Cooldown needs to be a bit higher.

-Other than that looks good!

Mineral transformations power needs to be toned way down still. You're trying to accomplish too much with one jutsu. Decide what you want it to do and trim the fat.

The second jutsu needs its defensive properties to come down because it also gives you offensive capabilities in the form of a stat boost.

This clan will have to be used with conjuction of taijutsu and not ninjutsu because taijutsu is the art of using chakra to enhance the user's body to superhuman proportions.

@Bokuden: Lowered the defensive capability of the second jutsu and trimmed a bit of that "fat" you were talking about on the main jutsu.

@Sano: I'm not going to try and argue, but the way I understood the spec. guidelines was that transformation jutsu are ninjutsu, and these techniques are transforming the user's body in minerals, not simply enhancing them thus, that is why I had the techniques as ninjutsu.

But you're increasing your strength and body properties using chakra, which goes under taijutsu/ninjutsu, not much for bukijutsu.

I took out the part for bukijutsu, is that all you were really talking about? I just threw in bukijutsu to give a bit more room for customization.

Sorry if there was some confusion on my part.

Mineral transformation: Just remove the part about senjutsu altogether. It's unnecessary. And when you say non ninjutsu attacks, do you mean non-chakra based?

Fuzen Henshin: How does it interact with non-chakra based attacks? And instead of saying it behaves like a C-Rank jutsu, explicate exactly what it can do the same way any other defensive jutsu would require, just at C-Rank.

You'll have to find a non-crystalline mineral to transform into, otherwise this is infringing on the entire Crystal Release.

The Hesitant (element) and Hesitant (specialization) just need to be detailed that they cannot be balanced by a positive SC.

That being said, the skeleton is completely fine. Once you fix the above problem, you will be A-OK for approval.

Your clan is really beginning to take shape :) Not far to go i think. Just a few things at the moment.

KKG:

So, do people have to choose between their strength buff or their endurance buff? Or can they switch that at will, how does that work?

Drawbacks:

Looking good, I'm happy with those.

Jutsu:

Mineral transformation: As it stands, your mineral technique looks fine for most ranks, but i would like you to state that if a technique of one rank higher collides with it it destroys the jutsu and puts it on cool-down. Also, you don't mention non-raiton on granite. please do.

Henshin: Please remove the half damage from the ability.

But how do you take the gene? Do you mean to say that there is something like paths to this clan? You need to be very specific on HOW you take the gene. Are there 2 genes you chose from? If so, you should have to say which path you are on your charater sheet. Ie. Clan: Mineraru (Neberu Gene)

'sorry if i got spelling wrong.'

The last thing i want you to change is on your second jutsu, I would like you to specify that it can be broken by hits of a certain strength. A B rank jutsu I don't think should allow you to have limitless blocking of SS-3 strength Tai and Buki. So, perhaps Say a couple direct hits from S rank strength or an S rank weapon is able to break the jutsu?
