Thunder and lighting boomed and flashed all around, illuminating the night sky. rain pattered at the tree tops but with the dense forest only a drop every so often reached the grounds. no moonlight reached the floor and so the forest floor was dark, pitch black, well except for the occasional lighting strike every once in awhile striking the ground and the light moving through the trees. This was isolation, this was darkness.

Miah sat underneath a tree with her back leaning up against the trunk, stroking her cat who was purring with such delight that Miah almost cracked a smile, well almost. she stopped petting the cat and looked up to the canopy above, her mind was else where in deep dark thoughts. her cat made no effort to try and pester Miah for more love, she knew it would be uselss and so she snuggled up next to her owners and watched the forest beyond, probably hoping for a mouse of some kind to appear so she could chase it down and kill it. Miah's eyes glued to the canopy watched the leafs light up with blue as the lighting flashed above and the light waves desperately tried to make there way through the leaves and down to the ground, but with no such success.

It was cold dark and Miah had been sitting out her for hours not once did she show any form of emotion, not once did she smile or cry or laugh or sigh, nothing. She was a blank slate on the outside, a cold shinobi. which was all she was ever thought to be, hell she was the prodigy child after all going emotion less was easy for her, but on the inside, she was tearing her self to bits the pain she felt the raw pain and sorrow was more than she could ever recreate in any genjustu, it was more than she ever wanted to anyways, she wished the pain she felt apon no one, and never wanted to. Death felt better than the way she felt now.

Miah went back to stroking her cat she was sitting guard not far in front of her. she was such a good cat, never did anything wrong, knew when to behave, was loyal to every single one of her masters commands. she was a good cat and deserved a better master, but the cat stuck with her, and Miah was grateful. if not for her little companion she wouldn't know what to do hell she would probably be on the verge of total berserk right now, but she had her pet here and that was all she needed.

The rain continued on for a short while more and honestly this is why Miah had ventured out here in the first place. She came out her to be int the cold and the freshness that came with the air, that pure smell that soothing noise, that clean feeling she had. was the whole reason she had come out here, because the rain made everything feel better. well that and the fact that she needed to be alone, she always needed to be alone at night, because this was the time when her emotions came to the surface. after a day of suppressing she needed to release them and she did not want any one around except for her and her cat. However this time was different. For the first time in awhile she felt the need to have someone with her, some other presence to be near her, but this was highly unlikely considering the fact that it was a storm out here and only crazy people and her would be out in this kind of weather. Smokey the cat moved her body and climbed up Miah's lap and with both paws placed in the center of her chest she licked her face, seemingly knowing the pain that Miah was going through, and it helped but still still sat there, emotionless and alone.

Hayato nuzzled his face down into his scarf as a cold wind blew across his face. If any normal person were to see him out here at this hour, in this weather they would likely think he was crazy. What good could come from being out in the dead of night, in the cold and rain? For Hayato, sometimes conditions like these were more perfect than any bright, sunny day. The heat of the summer sun could be overbearing and exhausting, unlike the refreshing chill of the cold. The biting of the cold against his skin and the slight chill that he felt as a cold wind blew somehow made him feel more alive. Night was also his favorite time of the day. He placed a high value on the solitude that was often associated with night time, and as a result had a general trend towards mid champions that met the criteria that he searched for.

The rain itself made him feel rather at peace, with being out that night. Perhaps it was his Misora heritage and its association with the rain and storms that made him feel so at home in the rain. Even with an umbrella that he had brought along with him, Hayato would simply allow the rain to fall over his face. Without fear or reservation he traversed through the woods in the dead of night, looking for nothing in particular. There was no rhyme or reason for his presence in the woods that night, during the rain storm, but he sought no one’s approval.

As Hayato sought solitude in the forest, it would be his surprise to find that he was not the only person in these woods. He obviously questioned this person’s intentions, wondering who they were and what reason they could possibly have to be out in this rain, but quickly discarded the thought upon realizing that they were in a position to ask him the exact same thing. Once the distance between them had been lessened, the stranger could be identified as a young girl, sitting up against the trunk of a tree with what appeared to be a pet of some kind. “It’s not the best idea to sit out here in the cold and rain, you know,” Hayato would speak up in a calm and reassuring tone, “I can’t imagine that it would be particularly good for your  friend there either. Is there something wrong that made you come all the way out here? Some say the rain has cleansing properties.”

Miah saw the soaked man before he saw her and she was astounded that someone would be stupid enough to be out in this weather, and much less so allowing themselves to get soaked with water? she rolled her eyes, she didn't need social interaction with anyone right now... much less someone this crazy, as he approached Kaekio stood up incase this nut ball attacked her she would need a defensive, or incase she decided to attack him either way she would need to be standing and so she did she stood then looked at him glaring, trying to tell him with her emotions to leave her alone, she didn't need to be bugged by this man. not tonight and not any other night, but he kept approaching her... probably not being able to see the look she was giving him, she needed an escape a way to get away from him... NO he needed to leave her alone, she had been here first and he needed to leave this was her alone time and her time to grieve to feel sorrow to express the emotions could never do during the day, this was her time. around that time he had finished approaching her and began to speak“It’s not the best idea to sit out here in the cold and rain, you know, I can’t imagine that it would be particularly good for your  friend there either. Is there something wrong that made you come all the way out here? Some say the rain has cleansing properties.”
who was this man? and the hell did he think he was. Bossing Miah around telling her what was good for and her cat. No one had the right, then to ask her what she was here for, HA! like he had a right to know what was going through her head... this man had just pushed all of Miah's buttons and now he was going to die... well that is unless he could some how calm Miah down, then his life might possibly be saved, Miah sprinted at the mn who was now about 5 meters away an begun making handsigns, the last of which was a tiger seal. if the man saw the tiger hand sign then he would be put under her genjustu. The world would be pitch black and anything that had light to it would appear white, but seeing as how it was dark outside anyways everything would be black and so therefor he wouldn't be able to see a thing and thats when Miah would attack. if not then well she would simpy yell at smokey at tell her to attack him and while he was distracted she would spray water all over the ground using her water hose justu then as she ran she would scoop up the water infuse some chakra in it and throw it at her targets face, if he saw the water, which he would have to dodge it, then he would be put under another one of Miah's genjustu and then it would seem as if reality rippled and then the world would look similar only it would appear as if a deadly battle had insued and bodys of children and mothers and shinobi's would be everywhere.

As Hayato approached the girl who he had come across sitting alone in the rain, he noticed her raising herself up from her seated position. Figuring that she had simply seen him approaching and gotten up to greet him and introduce herself to the new acquaintance, he continued to walk towards her. He would continue to do so until he was close enough to see the look on her face through the darkness of the night. Apparently he had walked in at a bad time, or at least that was what he could gather from the irate glare that she cast his way and the aggressive posture she took.

He probably needed to say something to let her know that he meant her no trouble and maybe apologize for intruding on her unknowingly, but before he could do either she would begin darting towards him, making hand seals. Hayato would stop in his tracks and prepare himself for the attack that was coming his way, wasting no time in wondering what he had done to provoke such aggression, but instead analyzing the situation at hand. With his left hand he would reach up and over his shoulder to grab a hold on his staff which was worn slung diagonally across his back. Never removing his eyes from the charging girl, he would swing his staff over his shoulder and in front of him, twirling it in his wrist so that the crescent shaped head of the staff pointed skyward. Taking a ready position, Hayato would watch his assailant intently, peering towards her hands which were occupied in forming various symbols, hoping to get some manner of hint as to the technique she was preparing through the combination of seals.

Seeing her end the sequence of hand signs with a tiger sign, he half expected a katon jutsu to be headed his way, but when he looked up there were no signs of embers or flames. Instead, the already dark forest around them became darker, too dark for any reasonable person. As the world around him faded into blackness Hayato would raise his staff up and take a defensive posture. “This is no work of nature,” he mused to himself as he began slowly stepping backwards, “It never gets pitch black and furthermore, nothing else has changed. I can still hear the rain failing, and the sound of the droplets hitting the trees and puddles. It’s only my sight that has been taken from me, but how? Genjutsu?”

Realizing how unfavorable of a position he found himself in, exposed in the clearing, Hayato would think back to the last mental image of the area he had in his mind. Using that as a rough map he would continue taking his careful steps back until he felt his heel bump up against the exposed root of one of the nearby trees. Until he could figure out what exactly was going on, he would use the tree as a second man that would cover his back and cut off any attempted attacks from the back while he was deprived of sight.

Red was the only color Miah could see, she was more than angry, words could not describe her rage at the time. now of course there was no logical reason as to why she was so angry.... it was just so much pent up emotions what she had been storing, for what would seem like an eternity, finally reaching the surface. Night was her most vulnerable time, it was the time where mood swings were common and her emotions could cloud judgement if one was not careful and mindful of themselves when around miah at night, and this poor stranger not knowing miah and her inability to function like a normal human being during the night, would lead to his downfall he had not been cautious of his words because he didn't know to be and so this was the result. an infuriated girl who was more than just angry at the simplest little thing he had said, but it was what it was.

Miah jumped in the air looked at the man now with no vision, she had him in her claws and could play with him until he was dead. she landed behind a tree diagonally on the right side of him. she watched as he back up against a tree. mean while smokey kept still in her original spot awaiting her masters command. once she saw that her master had successfully landed her genjustu she knew the plan... they had trained this over and over until it was practically in the cat's muscle memory... the cat darted to the right and kind of ran at an arch towards the man, intentionally stepping on a single branch here and there to alert him of an enemy approach, leading him to believe it was miah. once the cat had started her movements miah moved silently out from behind the tree. then she threw two shuriken aiming at each of his arms attempting to pin him to the tree he was backed up against. after she threw the shuriken she pull out a kunai and ran straight at him and with her cat running at him at the same time, they both jumped into the air about 7 meters away. the cat would land on him and tear at his chest if all went well. Miah would land next to him and stab him in the stomach with her kunai if all went well for her.

With his sight robbed of him through some unconfirmed method, Hayato knew only one thing in this situation was certain: he would no longer be able to rely on his eyes for information and would now have to look for alternative methods. Using the trees in the environment to cut off one angle of attack and provide a bit of added safety was a good first step, but with no way of tracking his opponent the odds of guessing and selecting the correct direction to block in the event of an incoming attack was a gamble at best. If he was just able to use his jutsu to restrain her and end the threat the situation would be so much easier, but then again, if he was able to see her to do that he wouldn’t be in such a dilemma.

Still holding his staff up in a defensive posture, Hayato would pause to take a deep breath and begin focusing intently on his remaining four senses. He would here a distinct splashing sound to his right, followed by a series of smaller splashes in that same direction, clearly different than the crashing of raindrops down onto the ground. The weight behind the splash was more akin to a person running through a puddle. He would immediately shift himself in that direction, predicting the girl’s position based on the disruption in the environment. His certainty of his perceptive abilities would soon come into question however, as another sequence of splashing sounds continued, alongside a distinct snapping sound as if a grounded branch had been run over. The only issue was that it did not match the path nor the splashing sounds made in the previous sequence.

Alarmed by the prospect of possibly being outnumbered and without the use of his eyesight Hayato would immediately move to create a more secure position for himself. He would stab the end of his staff into the muddy ground below him, causing it to stand in place as he formed the hitsuji hand seal. From the water beneath his feet, white, puffy cumulus clouds would begin to cover the ground. Within an instant the cloud would begin to lift with him still atop it, sending him surging skyward. All he had to do now was hope that his opponents could not fly. Once his cloud had reached an altitude of about 25 feet he would stop his ascent to call out to his opponent below. Not particularly interested on where this fight might lead if it were to continue, Hayato would fall back to one of his greatest natural talents; charisma. “Excuse me, miss,” he began, a stern but calm tone in his voice, “I apologize if I may have offended you, it wasn’t my intention to do so. I don’t know what I did to provoke this aggression, but I’d like to make amends for it if you’d let me. I’m afraid that with this jutsu that you’ve cast on me I’m unable to even look you in the eye, which is unfortunate. From the quick glance I got before the color was difficult to discern because it’s so dark, maybe teal? They were beautiful. I’d like the chance to see them again.”

clouds formed around her target as he was lifted into the air. Miah briefly contemplated chasing after him, but he was out of reach even if she jumped for the tallest tree near him and so it was no use to attempt anything. she grabbed her two shuriken that were stuck in the tree and put then back in their pouches for later use. she looked up at him still full of hate and fury, wanting to rip him limb from limb. then at that moment, that's when he spoke to her “Excuse me, miss, I apologize if I may have offended you, it wasn’t my intention to do so. I don’t know what I did to provoke this aggression, but I’d like to make amends for it if you’d let me. Had she really been that mad over something so stuiped? a second ago she was wishing him dead, no not wishing she was doing her best to make it a reality. Miah's eyes widen with shock as tears started to form. she had been so willing to kill another person, so ready, and over what. a simple thought of her well being and smokey's as well. this was a much over reaction, she needed to calm down. Tear begin to fall down Miah's cheek as she came to the realization that she had just tried to kill someone, for no apparent reason. Hell just a few minutes ago she said she had wanted company and now she was trying to kill the one person that had come out of the blue. What was she? she was a monster. she was a beast who no longer deserved a place upon this earth. How could she have attempted something so wrong and cruel, for no logical reason. Smokey now saw the emotion transition her master had gone through within a matter of seconds and was now doing her best to confort her and completely forgetting the person above them standing on a cloud, who had recently regained their sight. why, why had tryed this. miah couldn't quite grasp the situation. her emotions had taken her over and she didn't even recognize herself at all, but this man. who was he? he had remained so calm, and even apologized for his wrong actions. he had done nothing wrong, and here he was apologizing. Miah wanted to give him a hug and say nothing but im sorry for the next day and a half, but she figured this wouldn't help at all. if the man came back down to her level and stood before her she would look up at him with tears running down her face and say the words "im sorry, im so so sorry" and then she would look back down at the ground before her and continue to cry. However if he did not then she would simply sit there and cry not moving a muscle, just sobbing.

Only moments after he made his attempt at reasoning with his assailant, Hayato’s vision would be returned to him, an explosion of shapes and colors replacing the blackness that he had spent the last few moments experiencing. Immediately taking stock of his surroundings he would look down below and notice the girl from before, but instead of charging at him to attack, this time she was kneeling on the ground and appeared to be… crying? He didn’t quite understand why she would be crying in this situation, but he supposed he didn’t really know anything about the situation to understand. Still, the threat seemed to no longer be an issue now that she had cancelled whatever jutsu she had previously used on him. With the threat neutralized, at least for now, he could not help but feel compelled to check up on the girl. He would lower the cloud on which he was standing  down to ground level, ending up only a few feet away from the kneeling girl.

The cloud would dissipate beneath his feet as he stepped off of it and towards the girl. His eyes widened as she raised her head to apologize to him, tears flowing down her face, before lowering her head once again. Disregarding the muddy ground he would get down on one knee to get down to the girl’s level before he spoke, lowering and tilting his head so that he could get a look at her face even with her hanging her head. He wanted to make sure she could see him as well. “Hmm, just as I thought,” Hayato would say with a serious, inquisitive look on his face. Raising his head up himself he would then gently place the tips of his fingers on his left hand below her chin and slowly lead her head up to look at him. Now face to face Hayato would offer a soft smile and look her right in the eye as he spoke, “They really are beautiful, just like their owner. They’re even teal too. The only problem is all of these raindrops falling on your face and getting in the way makes it harder to appreciate them. If I didn’t know any better I would think you were crying.”

Reaching back for the silk scarf he had tied around his neck, Hayato would grab hold of one of the ends and use it to wipe the girl’s cheeks free of tears and raindrops, at least for the moment. As he worked to dry the girl’s tears he would continue, still with a gentle smile on his face, “There’s nothing to apologize for, really. No harm, no foul. I’m fine, see? It was my fault for intruding on you so suddenly. So please don’t cry. It would pain me to be the reason that such a pretty girl was in tears. If you really want to make it up to me, no more tears. I would bet that you have a nice smile to match those eyes. Do you think you could show me?”

the ground had all of Miah's attention, she felt ashamed, embarrassed even. why? why had she done what she did. she couldn't answer the question. and so she felt ashamed of herself.... not being able to get over the fact that she had just tried to kill a man in cold blood who had cared for her. Just then she heard him speak “Hmm, just as I thought,” he said. what did he mean. what was he correct about? again more questions Miah couldn't answer for herself... DAMN IT why was she so useless that she couldn't even answer a single question. her mind raced at about a million miles per second thinking as to what he could possibly mean by that. Then she felt a finger under her chin and before anything could be done as to remove it she felt her head being lifted up to look at the man and once they were finally looking each other in the eye he said. “They really are beautiful, just like their owner. They’re even teal too. The only problem is all of these raindrops falling on your face and getting in the way makes it harder to appreciate them. If I didn’t know any better I would think you were crying.” then he proceeded to pull off his scarf and wipe away her tears before she could even fully processes the first statement and then said “There’s nothing to apologize for, really. Do you think you could show me?” Miah Blushed so much that her entire face turned a bright red. Did he really think that about her? she wasn't that pretty. and he even complemented her eyes. Most people hated her eyes, even teased her about them. but this man, he he liked them even told her how beautiful they were. Miah looked down at the ground once more this time not with sorrow but with shyness. she didn't know what to do or how to handle this and so she just looked away and twitteled her thumbs, but not before revealing a shocked expression on her face. NO ONE had ever talked to her this was.

Miah sat there for a few minutes in silence, awkward silence. Not quite sure of what to say, and so she let every little thing capture her attention, still with a bright red face from blushing. it finnally came to a point where the silence was so awkward the Miah felt the need to speak, however the compliments put her into her normal state and so therefor she was extremely shy. "umm i uhh umm i umm wanted to uhhh well umm" Miah looked away finding it even harder to come up with words while she was looking at him, and not to mention make then audible.... the words she had just spoken was barely hearable and looking him in the face was only making it increasingly difficult "uhh ummm can i ask your name?" Miah said as she shut her eyes tightly fearing that asking his name was some sort of a crime, which is how she acted most of the time outside of dangerous situations or when it was night time.

The girl would look up at him with a shocked expression as he spoke, tearful eyes replaced instead with surprise as her face began to turn a bright shade of red. At first he thought she might have fallen ill from being out in the cold, but the look on her face and her reaction as she lowered her head and muttered in her speech gave away her embarrassment. He couldn’t help but smile at her reaction, but still wondered what had provoked it. Perhaps he had been a bit too forthcoming with the complements, or perhaps it was how little distance there was between their faces when he nudged her chin to face him, only inches separating them.

“You shouldn’t look away or close your eyes, you know,” Hayato begun in a soft tone, “If I had eyes like yours I would show them off proudly. If someone could see them, even in a storm like this, it wouldn’t seem so bad. Come on, there’s no need to be shy with me. I’m nobody special, really. My name is Hayato by the way. It’s a pleasure to meet you, miss…?” Hayato would pause there, hoping to learn her name in return before returning to his feet and offering an outstretched hand to the girl sitting in the mud. “I’m sorry, but I can’t let you sit in the mud in the pouring rain all night. Take my hand. And let’s find someplace with cover so we can talk. Even under the trees is better than just sitting out in the open. Please?” If she agreed to take his hand, Hayato would pull her out of the mud before opening up his umbrella to shield them both from the rain and smile at her before continuing, “Is there somewhere I can take you?”

Miah felt a little paniced as she openned her eyes and shyly looked up at man sitting before her.... what did he want? why wasn't he saying anything? he must want something... Miah thought about it for a second and then reilized her paused at a really awkward art in his sentence.... right where her name should go. then the thought hit her.... she hadn't told him her name "ooh uhh it's miah... m- my name is miah... full name is uhh suiren miah" she said in a shy quiet voice “I’m sorry, but I can’t let you sit in the mud in the pouring rain all night. Miah knowing what to do caught the cat and then held her in her arms and softly stroked her.

“Suiren Miah, huh?” Hayato repeated back to her once she told him her name, “It’s a pleasure to meet you Miah.” As she took his hand he would help her to her feet and watch as a cat leapt up onto her shoulder and down into her arms. It was a flawless move, almost as if it had been rehearsed countless times. It was her pet after all, depending on how old the cat was it was quite likely that they had done the exact same thing hundreds, if not thousands of times before. The cat was cute, he supposed, but he didn’t dare attempt to pet it or anything of the like. Cats were fickle and temperamental creatures, meaning that the likelihood of this particular cat being friendly didn’t seem high enough to warrant such action. The last thing he needed was to get clawed up by a territorial cat protecting its master.

“Why would I mind?” Hayato answered with a smile when Miah requested he take her home, “What kind of man would I be if I just left a pretty girl to walk home all alone in the pouring rain?” With that thought in mind he would slide his arms from his sleeves and remove his jacket, draping it over Miah’s shoulders before continuing, “I don’t know how long you were sitting out in the rain before I came, but you’re soaked and it’s cold. I don’t want your first memories of me to be tied to you being sick. I would hope that I leave a bit more memorable impression than ‘that guy you met when you caught a cold’. Now then, I’m more than happy to escort you home, but I don’t know where that is. I’m pretty familiar with the village by now, if you tell me I’m sure I could find it. Unless of course you want to take the lead.”

Once she would tell him where her home was located they could begin their trip in earnest, but to prevent any awkwardness between them he knew that he was going to have to be the one to initiate conversation. “Stay close, Miah,” he begun as he took a step inwards towards Miah, so that there was less distance between them and they could both be completely shielded by the umbrella, “So, what brought you out into the forest so late at night in this rain?”

Miah walked quietly next to Hayato as he rambled on and on... she was kind of listening to him, but not too much, she was more focused on her surroundings looking at the trees and the night sky. She did however mutter the words "Thank you" as he put his jacket around her, but not much after that. then she figured that he would have no idea where she lived and so she figured that she should tell him before they continued "i live in the top of a three story apartment building, address number 375 on sky street... and if you don't mind could we keep it quiet the rest of the walk back? i tend to keep things at night so i can think" she said smiling at him and then continued walking... she figured she should offer some sort of thanks when they got there but that was for after the walk... for now all she wanted was to pet her cat and enjoy the night.. so she walked in silence staring at the stars in the sky and the leaves oh the trees petting her purring black cat. it felt nice. her sister would have enjoyed a night like this, but her sister couldn't she never could, ever again... it was all Miah's fault, if she just would have done something... anything, it would have been different. Why! WHY! Miah let a single tear fell down her cheek as she walked along the road on the cold night. i'm so sorry sister. i didn't mean to hurt you, i didn't want this to happen this way, i should have done something to help you... Miah was now in fully crying in front of Hayato "im sorry, i don't mean to cry... please don't ask me why i'm crying... please" she said as she continued to walk on towards the village... she really didn't want to explain to him why she was crying right now... she didn't want to tell anyone. so she walked in silence, she didn't want to answer any of his questions.

At Miah’s request, Hayato would remain silent as they walked together in the rain. One would think the situation might present itself to be somewhat awkward; a man and woman walking closely together in the rain, sharing an umbrella as she wore his jacket draped around her shoulders. If it wasn’t for the fact that she was crying, onlookers might believe that the two were on a date. Hayato also did not make things weird by trying to console her through her tears, at her request. While he rarely, if ever, cried himself, he recognized that sometimes it was necessary for people to cry, and that it wasn’t always a bad thing. It could be therapeutic at times. Beyond that, it was really not his place to pry into her personal business. He offered to escort her home, and that was what he intended to do. That was his primary concern at that moment.

Sure, she had previously attacked him and he had not received an explanation as to why, but he did receive an apology. While perhaps it would be nice to know what had inspired the assault or even what brought tears to her eyes now, Hayato respected her privacy enough to not try to force her to speak up. If she felt the need to cry he would not judge or try to stop her, he would simply continue to shield her from the weathers of the outside world and provide a shoulder to cry on should she need it. When she requested he not ask why she was crying he would simply place a reassuring hand on her shoulder, smile, and nod in confirmation. He had no intention of interfering with her private time any further, but hopefully his presence would bring her some modicum of comfort.
