Julian sat in the forest that day thinking to himself calmly and just enjoying time in a peaceful setting. Thing had been a bit hectic as of late but he had come out of it just fine, Julian was thinking about requesting to up his rank to chuunin but he was not sure if he was ready for it yet. It would be a hard climb to the upper ranks but Julian just was not sure if he was done with being a genin, frankly he found it relaxing. Today Julian had gone out to the forest to relax and as such all he had on were a pair of blue shorts and his headband which rested above his collarbones, the usual position. He also did not put in his contacts giving the grey orbs time to breath beneath his black bangs.

Though come to think of it the young, thin man was bored today nothing had happened and that was odd considering his time spent in Konoha, usually he had a mission or some interaction with another ninja but today he had just spent it by himself. While it was nice to relax he pondered the thought of going back into the town for social interaction, Julian was a social creature after all he enjoyed helping others in his own odd way but he enjoyed talking to and learning about others the most of all. Odd for a ninja, but that was the way it was with him.

As the sun began to reach near it’s zenith Julian swore he heard something but dismissed it, little did he know that someone was just about to break his reverie. Instead Julian decided to lounge back again and take some of the sun that beat down into the clearing. His back touched the soft grass and he closed his eyes with both hands supporting the back of his skull as a makeshift pillow. Boring as today was, it was relaxing a theme that seemed to sum up his time in the Village Hidden in the Leaf as a genin.

Hakune

Hakune

It was seen as abnormal for one to practice sprinting through the trees in casual "dress-like" clothing- but Hakune was seen as "odd" nonetheless. Within the rough of the leaves Hakune was sprinting from branch to branch, her yellow kimono doused in pink floral designs and a darkly tinted crimson hue of an Obi. After doing these movements for so long, Hakune adapted to making smaller steps with wider range, leaping through with the lightest touch of her foot along these wooden structures- a versatile tactic when it came to maneuvering with constant turns and zig-zags.

Throughout this time, just as usual, Hakune's mind held an absence of thought. She was simply training her body to the point of muscle memory; nothing wrong with such a peaceful way to past the time while doing something productive.. right? Or not. Far less than peaceful, within the next few seconds human interaction would soon brew.

Despite the lack of sounds that were about through what Hakune could hear, which was literally repetitive throughout every second of her memorable life, her optical skills were impeccable; and it was through those eyes in which a visual cue struck her.

Something out-of-place from the usual sights she saw on this route caught her eye- what was it?

Hakune abruptly came to a halt, extending both her legs forward as she landed on the side of a branch, her body held at seventy degree angle against it. The momentum quickly brought her body straight atop the branch. Turning her head, shifting her body to correspond when necessary, she checked what she had saw once again- even if she had trust in her eyesight, it would only be natural to want to do a double-take and check, just in case she was seeing things. But, as doubtful as she was, her eyes were indeed truthful- there was young teenager, perhaps not too much older than her? But it was from quite a distance that she saw. A closer look was necessary to satiate her curiosity that saw something so peculiar as an "out-of-place" object on such an average day.

And so, from the heights of the tree, she skipped down to it's roots.

Julian was unaware that someone was coming up to him, her movements were silently and the genin did not have his eyes open at all. Instead he was indulging in his nap and thinking about things as a way to relax and take a day off from running about the village. He had been taking up missions a lot lately and this relaxation was kind of nice for him. Of course his mind did not stay on mundane things for long, his history coming to resurface every so often in his thoughts. Normally the ninja would burry these thoughts inside his skull with an avalanche of other ideas, today however he was too relaxed to do so and instead just thought back to his early family life.

Julian thought about his parents and how they had behaved when he still knew them, it had been a long time ago but the genin was rather good with his memory and his mind was sharp. It was not hard to picture the pair, but for as much as he could remember them he could not remember where he had lived nor anything about the place he was born before he had been inducted into a criminal organization. It was funny what age could do with something like that, however soon Julian’s mind strayed to darker thoughts and so it was when he abruptly sat up and opened his eyes to dispel the thoughts.

As Julian opened his eyes he saw a girl skip down to the roots of a tree in front of him, cocking his head to the side Julian asked “Just who might you be?” his voice was not sharp or demanding when he asked the question, nor did it carry a hint of confusion. Instead it sounded like a normal question to be asking when someone had not announced their presence before. Still Julian was not one to jump to conclusions and decided that anyone this close to the village was probably not a threat so he did not move to attack. Instead the genin would sit and wait to see what the girl’s reply would be.
