An hour after midday the weather began to cool down, and the clouds appeared to be larger than earlier preventing the sunrays of beaming down onto the quaint little town of Konhagakure. Rinshi was preparing his bags for his vacation to Sunagakure, but that would soon be short lived. Rinshi grabbed his bag throwing it over his shoulder, and his suitcase and walked down the steps making sure to shut off all the lights in his home but his room light. Would not want anyone breaking in and stealing his stuff, he would probably get one of his former students to watch the house while he was gone. Though he doubted he could get in touch with them, they were probably too busy with their new sensei, whoever that may be. However, he did not bother himself with the thought, though he did find it a bit unfair that he lost his squad the day after he first met them. RInshi simply carried on with his business as he descended the stairs he could see a flat rectangular object coming through his mail slot, a letter. Rinshi left his bags on the steps behind him and picked up the letter. The cover of the letter read URGENT, usually when something was in bold red it was always important. Rinshi could only imagine what kind of emergency that he was going need to aid in, maybe a fire or maybe he would have to travel somewhere and come to the military’s aid. No matter what the cause Rinshi was obligated to act, he opened the letter and read the contents. It was from Mitsuhide the new Hokage, Takeshi must have been relieved from duty since he was only the Interim Hokage for Tatsumaru. Rinshi began to read.
Dear, Rinshi
As you may know, your friend Takeshi has been relieved from his duty as Interim Hokage, and I have taken over his position as the official Hokage. It has come to my attention that you had close relationships with the previous two Hokages, Takeshi Uzumaki and Tatsumaru Uchiha who was your sensei. I know it must have been hard for you to have lost your sensei, you knew the man for 5 years I presume. I wish not for us to start on the wrong foot and this is actually a request I need from you. Recently, bandits have looted trade routes that connect from Konoha to Iwagakure in the last week, multiple times. I need you to help the outpost located in Rolling Hills put a stop to their actions by eliminating the bandits. Someone with your caliber of skill should have a no problem, and before you go on vacation, you can bet that your success will come with a reward.
~Mitsuhide
Rinshi read the last word from the hokage had no problem with this, but he did find it a bit peculiar that Mitsuhide the Hokage sent him a personal letter. Rinshi had an odd feeling about the whole assignment, why did Mitsuhide send him on such a basic mission like this and why was it urgent. There were ninja who could complete this mission easily; this just did not sit right with him. Rinshi prepared himself with the proper combat attire. First pulling off his blue coat revealing his bare torso, went to his closet pulling out a navy blue thermal, his old black Konohagakure gloves with the metal plate on the forehand, navy blue cargo pants tucked into his boots, his black custom-made Konoha Flak Jacket and black combat boots. Now that Rinshi was prepared, he opened his window grabbing the scrolls on his dresser slipping them into the front pouches on the breast of his vest. Rinshi put one foot out the window and sat on the windowsill, holding his Konohagakure headband examining the shining plate that housed the engraving of Konoha’s emblem. Rinshi tied the headband loosely around his neck to drape it similar to a necklace and went out the window.
After traveling clear across the village and out the village gates, Rinshi came upon Rolling Hills. Mitsuhide did not give a specific location of where the outpost was in. Luckily, during his search for the outpost he found a patrolling shinobi of the village that guided him to the outpost after informing him of the task he had. During their walk to the outpost, Rinshi and the sentry shinobi had a conversation, mainly about how they both graduated from the same class. Rinshi and the other shinobi came upon the outpost located just along the border; the sentry shinobi left to return to his post and left Rinshi where he was. Well everyone has their duties, his is patrolling mine, mine is to stop these bandits… Rinshi entered the Outpost asking around for the person in charge of them all, one woman led him to a back room where he saw a man with a finely trimmed goatee and blue spiky slicked back hair. ”Aaah there you are, you must be the young shinobi sent by Mitsuhide to aid us against the bandits, and thank you for coming might I ask you your name.” Rinshi saw the man and felt a pleasant cheery aura from him, it was a good vibe no doubt about it. ”My name is Rinshi Hyuga, and well yeah I was sent here by Mitsuhide. Captain so what is the situation we are dealing with.” Rinshi was hoping he could give him a brief but thorough description so they could quickly devise a plan to eliminate the bandits, he could go on his vacation, the villages would be able to trade again, and the Captain could take care of other matters. ”Well we have gathered Intel on what these men look like. Earlier today during one of their raids, we attempted to ambush them but failed, on the other hand we can give you an insight on what to expect. First off, total there are eight bandits, of those eight bandits five of them are skilled in archery impaled me in the arm during the ambush. Seeing as you are of the Hyuga clan, dodging their arrows should be no problem, and neither should this. Two of the bandits use clubs; my lieutenant got both of his legs broken during the ambush, watch out for that. Lastly, is their leader a monstrous brute got to be almost over seven feet tall, I seen him using a war hammer to smash the wagons and people … I lost some of my best men.” Rinshi knew how the captain felt to lose ones closest to you; he would be sure to take out them all and get on with his vacation and deliver some good news to the captain. ”Say no more captain ill take care of this, no problem.”
Rinshi was informed that another caravan would be coming through he would have to prevent the bandits from looting them. Rinshi waited until he saw the caravan cleared to enter through the checkpoint and rode along with them in disguise rather than walking. Rinshi sat patiently on the back of a wagon; he saw the birds burst out of the trees ascending into the sky. Ah, the birds are so peaceful to watch... Rinshi’s eyes snapped opened when he heard someone hollering, some sort of battle cry. Following the battle cry, flaming arrows were ripping through the air aimed straight at the wagon but Rinshi only heard four arrows impact against the wagon. Rinshi saw a man appear in front of him and fired an arrow directly at his head, Rinshi leaped backwards onto the top of the wagon throwing a shuriken at the man’s head for daring to assault him. One down, seven to go… Rinshi quickly performed the bird hand seal and could feel his chakra expanding his lungs, and before he executed his technique he exclaimed, ”Futon: Kazejuugan!” Rinshi fired four air bullets one for each archer he saw and knocked them out cold. That was the archer for the two barbarians rejects… Rinshi activated his Byakugan waiting for them to attempt to attack, his patience was going to pay off when both bandits ejected from the bushes to attack him. Right and Left closing in at about the same time, one thing Rinshi noticed that these two were the by far the most idiotic of the bandits. Rinshi jumped above them as they collided into one another and clapped his hands together before exclaiming, ”Futon: Reppusho!” Rinshi quickly thrust both hands forward creating a powerful gale force that sent the two bandits through the rough of the wagon and the interior of the wagon ending up under the wagon. Rinshi landed on the ground gracefully in front of the wagon, carefully calming the oxen so they would not run off with the cargo. The ground quickly began to trimmer and it was unusual Rinshi stumbled forward before realizing the cause, the bandit leader. I’m going to squash you like a bug you little skinny prick.” Rinshi scolded the man and would have to execute this in one go; Rinshi took the Hyuga Clan Juken (Gentle Fist) Style their own special fighting style. Rinshi was not sure if this man was able to use jutsu but it would be too late, the monster that dared to be human swung his hammer down towards Rinshi. Rinshi found an opening and quickly hit the man’s arms 24 times closing off a majority of the Tanketsu. The bandit leader dropped the war-hammer and was now wide open as he stumbled slowly back staggered; Rinshi could deliver the final blow. Rinshi took the opportunity to deliver seven blows to the man’s torso and focused the final hit on the man’s chest. The man’s eyes dilated and Rinshi stood straight, turned his back to the man, and deactivated his Byakugan as the giant fell to his demise. Rinshi successfully stopped the man’s heart with that last strike.
After his scuffle with the bandits, Rinshi reported to the captain, to inform him of the bandits defeat. ”Well I will be damned son! You are impressive well I will be sure to let Mitsuhide know that you took out the bandits and their leader. Do not worry about the clean-up I will have one of my men go wrangle up the others. Again, thank you Rinshi and great work.” Rinshi was a bit flattered, but of course was humble with his response. Oh, it was nothing, if I did not have that information you gave me I probably would not be standing here now. Well if you don’t mind sir I’m going to go, well I got to get going. Rinshi left the Rolling Hills Outpost and made his way home to finish packing, he had a few bruises on his legs and arms and a sharp pain in his left leg, but he stuck it out the walk home.
