Clan History: Several centuries ago a small clan emerged from deep within the forests of Konoha and Kusa. This clan was very small, and only spoken of in myths and fairy tales of the woodland villages. Stories told of a clan of spider men that lived in the darkest parts of the ancient forests; in a place were normal humans were not welcomed. In truth, the clan was little more than a group of related spider tamers with a natural ability to harness chakra without the strict training normally seen in the ninja world. Their abilities to use the various species of spiders made them valuable as spies and diversionary specialists. A generation after the clan appeared, a child was born with strange lumps in various places on his body that the medical ninja couldn't identify. Placed under medical watch, they waited to see if the lumps would cause the body any trouble. By the time the child was old enough to walk, the parents had noticed more oddities about the boy; his hands and feet seemed to be covered with a thin layer of strange hairs, and the skin was discolored and oddly firm. It was after he had begun to walk that they discovered that the strange lumps where exuding an odd sticky fiber substance; that strangely resembled the silks of the clan's spiders. Thus was born the first spider child of the Kumonosu clan.

Several generations passed and the spider-like qualities of the clan had spread. Most of the children born to the clan had the odd adaptations of the spider child; some had even begun to grow extra arms and legs that gave them even greater spider-appearances. For reason's lost to time, an arranged marriage was conceived; the union between the clan of spiders and a clan that was so specialized in the creation and handling of glass that they had incorporated it into the ninja arts. From this union a set of triplets was born; each with the combined abilities of the two clans. This union caused an odd mutation in the children; instead of producing normal spider silk; the children produced a glass like substance that when exposed to air was acted exactly as silk; only sharp as a knife and able to transmit chakra along the length of it. When woven into a strand, it was as strong as their normal silk, with all the sharpness of glass, and the added chakra conductive nature. This made the special glass fiber highly valuable and extremely effective in traps.

A few generations of selective pairings created a large number of ninja in the clan that produced the fine glass fibers. Over time the less effective and overall weaker natural silk died away; leaving nothing but the glass fiber producing clan you have today.

Kekkei Genkai: Webs of Woven Glass
Kekkei Genkai Description: The clans spider-like nature enables them to produce fine filaments of glass similar to the normal silk of true spiders. The glass filaments are woven into lines that can be used the same way as normal silk strands; creating webs, laying traps, and all around utility lines. The clan's primary mode of attack is to lay traps and barriers made of the silken glass, which is charged with various elemental chakra when an opponent comes in contact with it. However, the members of the clan have adapted special pads and feathery hairs on their hands and feet that allow them to handle the thinnest of the tread without worry.
Drawbacks: The glands that produce the silk are bulky and very obvious to an opponent; making them prime targets in a fight. The user can only produce a set amount of glass filament per post, limiting how much that can be done at any given moment. Normally nearly invisible to the naked eye; when chakra is applied to the filament it begins to glow brightly in response; the color of which is determined by the nature of the chakra (white or clear for non-elemental, red for fire, etc). The threads can easily be cut and destroyed by any bladed weapon or slicing attack of equal or higher rank to the thread itself. Once cut it is rendered useless and must be replaced entirely.

Description: Special glands on the user's body constantly produce a set amount of the clan's special glass fiber threads. By using chakra, the clan is able to boost production, the amount of which depends on how much chakra the user applies that turn. The user can only produce the amount of fiber per turn that is paid for; otherwise they must wait for their next turn while their body creates more.

D-rank: 3 meters of fiber. No cost (Cannot be stacked)

The glands continuously produce the D-rank supply of fiber even when not actively in use. So long as the user states this, and maintains an unbroken log of the amount of fiber currently produced in battle, the amount of fiber available increases. If not, the user is understood to only have the base D-rank amount at any time. The basic production costs no chakra; you pay only the amounts stated for the boosted production, because this is a natural bodily function of the clan, not a jutsu in and of itself.
