Clan History:
Clan Ekō’s history dates back to the founding of the doomed nation of Otogakure no Sato, a small country founded by the corrupt Sannin Orochimaru. These Shinobi were not originally a clan, in fact most were orphans taken in by Orochimaru to serve as expendable foot soldiers in his plot to destroy Konohagakure. In those days, the ancestors of what would become Clan Ekō survived some of the most hideous experimentations at Orochimaru’s hands, these chakra based experiments gifted them with a powerful Kekkei Genkai and they would have become the pinnacle of his foot soldiers.

This Kekkei Genkai was not complete however, members of the clan that bore then Kekkei Genkai could manipulate sound but were unable to generate or amplify the Sound they manipulated by their own means. Because of this Orochimaru often replaced various parts of their body with Sound Generating mechanics or taught them to use objects to generate the sound they required. This method of sound generation made Orochimaru lose interest in his project with them and he turned his back on the altered Ninja as a whole.

However, Yakushi Kabuto saw these Shinobi as valuable assets and continued experimenting on them. Through Kabuto the current day Clan Ekō was born and his laborious work allowed the clan to generate and amplify Sound waves at unheard of levels. Unfortunately, these Sound waves were so great that their bodies were punished by releasing their Kekkei Genkai, as the ancestors of Clan Ekō used more and more advanced techniques they found that burns on the areas they released their powerful Kekkei Genkai would appear and grow worse the stronger the sonic blast they released was. This is true even in the Modern Day; but it has not dissuaded Clan Ekō as they use their destructive Kekkei Genkai to lay waste to the enemies of any Village that will take them in.

Kekkei Genkai Description:
Kamiton or Thunder Release is the Generation, Amplification, and Manipulation of Sound Waves. Shinobi with this rare Kekkei Genkai trait generate sound waves internally by flooding the chakra circulatory system in a certain area of their body with Raiton Chakra but not releasing it from their skin. Once this is accomplished the excessive buildup of Raiton Chakra will cause an internal crackle of thunder to be released. At this point they Shinobi pressurizes and releases the thunder clap from his or her body and amplifies the self-created thunder as it passes through their Skin with Futon chakra. At this point the Shinobi in question has created a powerful Sonic Wave that they can manipulate through their own chakra. While Kamiton is not truly thunder it earned it's name for the massive thunder-like quality of the sound it makes when used by masters of the element. Kamiton is essentially the creation, amplification, and manipulation of intense sound waves to destroy an opponent.

Ekō Clan members that follow the Path of the Thundering Palm utilize their Kekkei Genkai through offensive Ninjutsu and Taijutsu. This is accomplished through a unique stance the Clan has developed to maximize the potential effects of their Kekkei Genkai, this style called 稲妻手 (Inazuma Te: Lightning Hand). This style of Taijutsu focuses on speed and maximizing direct strikes and near misses with their Kekkei Genkai to send powerful Sonic waves into the opponent’s body. These strikes mixed with the sonic waves causes maximized internal damage as opposed to external damage, those who have been stricken by Inazuma Te Masters are known to have died hours to days after the encounter due to internal bleeding.

Ekō Clan members that follow the Path of the Echoing Bells excel in utilizing their Kekkei Genkai in a much more subtle manner. These shinobi release their Kekkei Genkai through their vocal cords. These shinobi then the first as they utilize singing or a wind instrument to deceive their enemy and capture them inside powerful sound based Genjutsu. In addition, Shinobi who follow this path typically have a Summoning Contract with Bats, allowing them to summon fearsome winged beasts to annihilate their opponents while they are captured inside their genjutsu. Shinobi who follow this path receive a free C rank Wind instrument to channel their genjutsu or direct their summons with.

Drawbacks:
Unlike other advanced elements Kamiton has a harsh effect on the wielder of its fearsome power. This element causes intense burns on the user, which intensify as they utilize their Kekkei Genkai in offensive jutsu or techniques of higher ranks. The self-inflicted damage is as follows:

E Rank: Non-existent, sound waves released is too weak to cause any damage to the Shinobi in question.
D Rank: Light Rashes, Sound waves released cause light rashes which burn and itch on the area Kamiton is released.
C Rank: Heavy Rashes, Sound waves released cause heavy rashes which burn and itch on the area Kamiton is released.
B Rank: 1st Degree Burns, Sound waves released cause 1st Degree Burns on the area Kamiton is released.
A Rank: 2nd Degree Burns, Sound waves released cause 2nd Degree Burns on the area Kamiton is released.
S Rank: 3rd Degree Burns, Sound waves released cause 3rd Degree Burns on the area Kamiton is released.
SS Rank: 4th Degree Burns, Sound waves released cause 4th Degree Burns on the area Kamiton is released.

Shinobi who use Kamiton in more passive aggressive manner must utilize a wind instrument to channel their sound based genjutsu or direct their summons with. Because of this the rank of their Wind Instrument dictates the maximum rank of the techniques/summons they may use. In other words if the Shinobi has a C rank instrument he or she may only use C rank Genjutsu or Summon C rank bats.

A Rank: The sound waves cause large tears in the ear drum and heavy damage to the inner ear. This can shatter glass and causes the opponent to feel overwhelmingly nausea. Additionally, this causes the muscles of the opponent to become torn if a direct strike occurs can cause moderate internal bleeding. At the A rank this causes 2nd Degree Burns on the area the sound waves originate from.

S Rank: The sound waves cause complete destruction of the ear drum and inner ear. This can shatter glass and causes the opponent to instantly vomit. This technique is accomplished without hand signs but requires the user to play a haunting melody into their wind instrument which is laced with Kamiton chakra. Upon hearing the haunting melody the target will be trapped in the Genjutsu for the duration of the song. In this Genjutsu the target will hallucinate that they are facing an enemy far beyond their abilities. Any strikes this illusionary opponent lands on them FEELS like it is happening and any techniques they use inside the illusion they are using in reality, thus wasting chakra. If the target breaks out of the Genjutsu he or she must cover their ears with something as the song continues or risks being captured by its haunting melody once again.

Thanks to Michael and Andrew for helping me out with bits and pieces.

I'm...not sure how to go about this. Another clan already resonates their chakra to create vibrations akin to this effect, and multiple shinobi/pets already have sound-based techniques.

Then how about instead of it being an advanced element idea just make it a way this clan uniquely use them, similar to the sotsuji clan, they dont use scorch release, they jutsu use fuuton and katon together in a way which is just the clan's speciality.

Doesn't need to be an advanced element. And a sound as an advanced element is OP.

I would destroy people with this clan by making undodgable attacks black canary style.
