Matsu
D-rank
It was only a matter of time before the constant complaining from Matsu would land him in a mission that was significantly harder and more rewarding than walking dogs and cleaning up the training area. Though the Hokage didn't seem to trust him much with any work, there was little he could come up with to protest him going on a B-Rank mission if he was give a chaperon of significant rank. Luckily, this significantly ranked person was not exactly hard to come across. Matsu was possibly one of the lowest ranked shinobi in the village. For now at least. Though he had missed the chuunin exams for his own reasons, he had taken the time to learn to do missions in an efficient way. He had more missions completed than many people of higher rank than himself.
Coincidentally, due to this mission count, it wasn't all that implausible that he could be given the rank of Chuunin. It wasn't like he was an incapable fighter on his own and due to his handy-dandy summoning scroll, it'd be extremely easy to overwhelm opposing forces once he became strong enough to summon larger creatures, or at least larger groups of them.
Anyway, his mission today was waiting for him in his mailbox as per usual and as he walked outside into the night to open his mailbox, he'd feel the cold wind of the darkness on his feet. It was refreshing and put a smile on his normally stoic face. Sliding the mailbox open, he'd pull out an envelope, sliding it open and reading it. His eyes would actually open a slight bit. This mission was B-Ranked. This mission would be quite a challenge and he assumed that he'd be escorted on it.
Matsu, you can't complain anymore about the ranks of the missions you're getting. Here's a B-Rank. Don't mess up... Read the boy mentally as he looked through the contents of the assigned mission. An assassination? Whats worse is they prefer that the guy be killed. That sure is lame. Restraining is more my style but I guess I can kill him too. He thought to himself as he folded the mission up. He'd return to the house, walking to his room to get the jacket for his robe. Placing the envelope in his sleeve, he'd grab his scroll, slinging it over his shoulder onto his back.
With little delay, Matsu would move quickly from his home into the darkness, moving from rooftop to rooftop towards the first place he was to look. Apparently the ninja had a chance of showing up in either the bar, or some of the villages on the outskirts of the country. He could be in either location, so he decided the bar was the best place to check first due to its close location. Regardless, he hoped the mission could go well and if anything went wrong, he was sure that whoever was escorting him would be easily able to handle what he himself could not.
