1 Eradicate the smugglers [B-Rank|Repeatable] Mon Jul 29, 2013 6:38 am
Yuudai
D-rank
This was it. His first solo mission after who knows how long. Well, technically not a solo mission, but a solo mission at the same time. The only thing that would differentiate this mission from others he had previously taken was his companion. He had taken Isamu on a mission recently that had them diving down into the depths of the ocean nearing the Mizu no Kuni landmass, where they were attacked by something representative of a squid. This time, his companion would not be human, but rather a creature; a flightless bird, a penguin - Suichi. Currently the eccentric creature was in his travelling form, even though it wasn’t made for moving about quickly, it could still keep up with shinobi it ranked against, mostly Jounin. Suichi would definitely be assisting the Sannin in discovering the location of the illegal port, something he could do through the use of the waters that surrounded his home village’s landmass. The skill that Yuudai possessed would easily be able to handle these smugglers given the rank on the mission. It was not overconfidence, just knowledge based on the understanding of their given level. If Yuudai had chosen to attempt a similar task in the past, in his Jounin days, the mission would have proved to be difficult based on assumptions alone. But, he wasn’t a Jounin anymore, nor would he be attempting the mission alone, as he had his faithful, troublesome, and loyal companion with him by his side.
Exiting the walls of Kirigakure no Sato, Yuudai paused slightly, turning to Suichi to see if the creature was still trekking a bit behind him. A moments pause was all that was needed. Suichi was then in sight, ahead of Yuudai by a few steps. The tuxedo bird turned to face Yuudai, waiting on his master to continue onwards. It was Suichi’s first official assignment. An assignment that the penguin was clearly hyped up for. Maybe a bit too much. Nodding toward Suichi, Yuudai adjusted the sheathed katana that rested against his right hip. It would have to do for now. He had something in the works for the future, but for now his current katana would have to suffice, as it had done for ever since he received it. It was one weapon that he seemed to be able to rely on, since it still hadn’t broken to date, but also because of the utility that was brought along with it. The one thing about this assigned mission that did not have much appeal to Yuudai was the necessary elimination of the smugglers; as it was stated that there would be resistance, which almost anyone would be able to conclude once they understood the gist of the task ahead.
“Suichi, are you ready?” It was a question that clearly did not need to be asked to Suichi, but he decided to do so anyways. A vigorous nod came in his direction, a nod that dictated that Suichi was more than prepared for the mission; which could potentially make it go sour. Though, Yuudai had full confidence in the creature, as he understood why it was acting in such a way, which brought a faint smile to the Sannin’s face. “Let’s go then.” The location they had received wasn’t an exact location, but rather reported intel of the location of the vessel that the smugglers considered their base of operation. He knew that Suichi, if needed, could take the route via waters to ambush the smugglers while he took the more direct approach and dealt with them in an upfront approach. It worked in theory, and in this case, most likely in practice as well. He doubted the smugglers had exceptional skills compared to shinobi, seeing as how they’d been spotted with some ease.
Taking off toward the intended location, foot pushing off after foot, the cool breeze flowing against his face, and the greenery zooming by in a matter of seconds, Yuudai felt Suichi’s weight shift upon his shoulder. He had taken it upon himself to carry the penguin there, so long as it would be able to keep its balance, as it would be faster this way until they ultimately reached the waters, the boundaries of their homeland. Taking no less than 5 minutes, Yuudai and Suichi reached the shore where the reported vessel was last spotted. There wasn’t much giving anything away of the water vessel. In fact, there were no actual signs of the boat anywhere. Taking another look around, Yuudai supposed that the ship had travelled further east, as that may have been the best location for a base of operations if they severely needed a water vehicle. Sending Suichi off and into the ocean, Yuudai once again pushed off with his right foot, this time travelling east towards a cliff that he remembered. There would also be a small cove where the ship would more than likely be anchored.
More greenery continued to pass until he reached the top of the cliff. From his understanding, the ship would just be below him and anchored a bit further into the cove, though nothing too distant. He had a feeling Suichi would arrive just as he would launch the initial attack, probably remaining underwater until the correct moment, the perfect opportunity to strike. He’d have to take the incentive and just barge right in for the initial attack. A deep, unneeded, breath. Chakra being pushed in to his feet, so that he’d be horizontal as he trekked down the edge of the cliff via the usage of a academy technique; Supernatural Walking Practice. For a basic technique even academy students had to learn, the jutsu clearly possessed utility to even those at the highest of ranks. Taking his right foot, Yuudai gently placed it on the face of the cliff. Once secured, less than a second, Yuudai took his left foot and did the same. With both feet on the face of the cliff, it would just be like walking down the street, simple, easy steps. The descent downward brought along gravity, something he stopped from affecting his katana with his right hand quickly grabbing on to the hilt, keeping the sheathe facing towards the sky. As the vessel came in to view, Yuudai attempted to count all the figures that were present, currently counting seven. There’d have to be a few more hidden out of sight due to the angle he had on them. They wouldn’t even sense him coming.
Pushing his feet off the cliff, Yuudai launched to midair, rotating his center of gravity so he’d land upright, there was barely a sound made once he landed upon the waters nearing the cove. All it would take is one full on spring and he could easily slice two or three of the visible seven in half. Then, it would just be a battle of not being hit, of attacking, and seeing what Suichi could do in a combative environment. Right foot pushing off, a slight noise was made, yet it remained relatively silent due to the shinobi’s expertise in remaining silent, something that enhanced greatly over the years. Getting closer, Yuudai launched himself into the air, flying right towards a group of three smugglers. With the left hand on his trusted weapon, Yuudai waited for the perfect opportunity to withdraw it, which would allow him to hit, and kill, all three with a wide sweep. Though a stab or so may be necessary to finish it off. He met resistance; bodily resistance, though not enough to stop him from slaughtering two of the three standing before him. It’s all apart of the job. It would remain on his conscious, but it was a task given by the village, and the Mizukage, thus it would be for the betterment of Kirigakure no Sato for him to have this blood on his hands. There was no point in convincing them otherwise, the smugglers that is. A quick stab, then a push, and his blade went through the third. That was three down, four remaining. Scratch that, seven remaining. It seemed as if the rest had just come out of their vessel just as he launched the attack.
One figure stood out, wearing an expected pirate hat, most likely the captain, but he made no move to exit the ship like the two he was with. Four of the six remaining scallywags were beginning their charge at him. Two stood by the plank leading up to the ship. And the Captain remained on his ship, seemingly afraid of what was to come. These four would be simple easy, as he had a technique that would wipe them all out in one fell swoop. Reseathing his katana, his memory instantly remembered how to perform said jutsu. Forming a series of hand signs in blinding speed, Yuudai took in a large breathe simultaneously. As the last handsign was formed, Yuudai expelled the breath of compressed air, which formed the jutsu known to most as Wind Release: Great Vacuum Sphere. It would take the four apart as they had easily been within 15 meters, and clearly had no way of escaping as they were in a full on charge. That would be another four souls on his conscious, always berating his actions.
There were three left, the captain, and the two guarding the plank. He could just take out the captain, but he’d also eventually have to deal with the two closer scavengers. Dodging to the right to avoid a stream of the renowned Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu, Yuudai managed to press himself against the rock wall. He’d have to dodge and attack if he wanted to do anything for the missions benefit. With lightning speed, Yuudai almost instantly disappeared and reappeared besides the two. A howling noise came to life, the Blade of Wind would easily slice the first in half while the other would be just clinging to life. He hated using these techniques, but it was a must in this situation, a must that needed to be accomplished for the village. In a matter of seconds, two howling cries were came to a halt, they both fell dead. There was barely a word from the captain. When he looked to check, he noticed Suichi standing where the captain once was, noting that the body had disappeared. Suichi, knowing the creature, may have ended up dragging the captain to the pits of the ocean until he drowned. There was only one thing left to do, to salvage the goods and bring them back to Kirigakure no Sato, the Village Hidden in the Mist.

Should the flow of chakra stop for any reason, the user will immediately fall off of the surface they are walking on, or plunge underwater.

The user expels chakra out of the tips of their fingers, causing the area around them to begin to cave in on itself violently, causing a howling noise. The air will rapidly compress, and then, following the movement of the fingers expelling chakra, can be shot in a specific direction to cut through a target. On impact it can sever limbs with ease, and can even cut a victim in two. However, it has a very short range and after being directed to strike, dissipates rapidly. The blade extends five metres, is connected to the tip of the fingers controlling it and is a mere 3 cm wide. The howling noise it creates, as well as the disturbance in air pressure all allow an individual facing this technique to identify the danger and get out of close quarters. The range is determined at the start of the ability, so a user cannot start this and then move to get in range before lashing out.
