Kenji Chikara
D-rank
Kenji woke up this morning looking forward to a day of high octane training alone. As a member of the Chikara it was mandatory that they dedicate a great amount of time to their Kenjutsu. He completed his morning hygiene. He was revitalized after taking a hot shower. Kenji put on his traditional loose fitting pants with a double silver belt. However, Kumo has been even colder than usual, so he was opted not to wear his normal sleeveless high collar gray shirt. Instead Kenji chose his secondary upper body attire; a long sleeve blue and white cotton shirt with his clan’s symbol on the back. He also added a scarf and extra warm gloves to his ensemble. “That should do it” Kenji said to himself. He grabbed his super light weight katana and sheathed it on his back as he approached the door. When he opened the door, his head was down examining his shirt, apparently there was something on it. Upon raising his head, a fellow Kumo shinobi appeared out of nowhere. “Wahhh, how did I not sense you?!” Kenji exclaimed. [color=blue]“I’m a special jounin that’s why. One day soon you’ll also master the art of stealth” the special jounin replied. The shinobi handed the young genin an envelope containing a message of some sort. “Anyway, here’s a mission, it is encouraged that it be completed by sun down.” Kenji looked over the envelope then asked “What rank is…” But by the time he had lifted his head to ask the question the special jounin had vanished just as quietly as he appeared. “I have to learn that.” Kenji said to himself as he walked back inside to take a seat as he read the contents of the mission. What a surprise another D-rank mission, Is this all Kumo thinks I’m good for. Apparently someone was foolish enough to lose a shoe, not the most foolish, but near the top of the list. And it was Kenji’s job to save the day, and rescue an innocent young damsel in distress who had lost her shoe running from an untrained ninja pet. According to the woman, she began running from the dog near the ninja academy, an area Kenji knew all to well, so that is where Kenji would start after he visits the woman. The woman unfortunately was too hysterical at the time to offer a cohesive description of the shoe. And she had refused to look at the one she already had until she received the other; something about seeing one without the other, sending her into shock. Anyway, I’d hate to find some random shoe and come to find out that some other person had lost theirs in a scamper for their life. Kenji arrived at the young woman’s house; she was clearly much more collected. Kenji received a detailed description shortly after introducing himself to the woman. She was borderline ecstatic that someone was officially on it. And there was no one better at finding lost shoes than Kenji. As he dashed from rooftop to rooftop he envisioned the pink shoe with green flowers on it. Prepping himself to notice anything of the sort. He started in the vicinity of the ninja academy. After ten minutes of surveying the entire area, he was beginning to become frustrated. Then all of a sudden it came to him and he felt like a complete idiot. “She was being chased by a dog so obviously after the shoe came off her foot the dog took it.” Kenji said to himself, proud of himself for deducing as much. But if that was indeed the case, the shoe was most likely breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the lucky pup. Fortunately for Kenji, he also got a description, be it vague, of the dog. He only had to knock on three doors before he got the owner who was a boy training to become a genin. It feels like it was just yesterday . Kenji lamented. It turns out that the puppy had a muzzle due to similar instances in the past. After the pink shoe with green flowers fell off, the pup apparently tried to viciously chew it, but was unable obviously. The boy chased after the dog as the dog chased the young woman. And saw his dog trying to chew the shoe. He took the shoe from his untrained dog and kept it. Kenji visited the boy’s parents and asked to speak with him pertaining to a flowery shoe that belonged to a close friend of his. He soon had the bubble gum lily in his possession ready to return it to his client. As Kenji was about to turn around, from the corner of his eye he sees the boy’s dog leap at him with no muzzle on. “NOOOO!!” Kenji screamed as the dog took him down. But soon realized the dog was simply licking him. This dog wasn’t vicious or untrained, this doggy was just misunderstood. “I keep trying to tell people he just wants to play” The boy said with his shoulders shrugged. Kenji finally made it back the young woman’s house, and he just made it in time before sundown. She was very appreciative giving Kenji a suffocating hug and a kiss on the cheek upon being reunited with her long lost shoe. It was apparently her favorite pair. What an adventure , Kenji thought to himself, finding that today’s unexpected mission acted as a competent supplement to his sword training. He had helped a girl find her shoe that got away, and made a few friends in the process. “All in a days work.” Kenji said jokingly, as he retired to his apartment.
