1 Cleaning Up the Library [Kumo D-Rank Repeatable] Fri May 24, 2013 11:41 pm

“Well, there it is,” Bokuden said letting out a sigh of disappointment. Bokuden had been assigned to clean the Kumo public library and was not the least bit enthused by the mission. “This isn’t shinobi work, it’s a waste of my time,” he continued.
“Oh will you stop being such a drama queen? It’s a simple enough mission. Just get in, do some cleaning and get out,” Satomi, Bokuden’s childhood wolf companion, replied, scolding Bokuden for his complaining. “Don’t expect to just be given combat missions as a genin!”
Bokuden rolled his eyes as an elderly woman walked out from the library to greet them. She introduced herself as Aoi and led the two back into the library to go over what needed to be cleaned. As Bokuden and Satomi entered the library they could tell what needed to be cleaned without ever having met Aoi, everything. The place looked as If it had been abandoned for years. “I’m terribly sorry about this. We have a few regulars, but we don’t get much foot traffic in here,” Aoi said as blushed and let out a laugh, obviously embarrassed by the library’s condition. Appalled by how dusty the library was, but not wanting to look like enormous ass holes by being mean to an old woman, Bokuden and Satomi simply nodded their heads and told Aoi that it was no problem.
Knowing that a mission involving cleaning would likely involve getting dirty, Bokuden had brought a change of clothes. Bokuden’s clothing was far too valuable to him to ruin it with dirt and dust by cleaning a library, and so he went in search for a place to change while Satomi was briefed on the specifics of the cleaning. Wanting to get this whole thing over with as quickly as possible, Bokuden did not even bother searching for a restroom and instead just went behind a shelf in a corner to change. The library was so large and so empty that he thought it would be fine anyway. As he finished changing he heard rustling in the area some ways behind him. If someone was there they were obviously out of his passive range and so Bokuden instinctively grabbed a kunai and turned to confront the potential threat. To his surprise it was a girl with long black hair and glasses who’s face was a bright red from embarrassment after seeing Bokuden strip in front of her. Assured she was not a threat and still shirtless, Bokuden smiled at the girl and asked her, “Like what you see?” She responded by turning even more red and fainting, knocking over a stack of books in the process, books that Bokuden would obviously have to clean up. After checking to see if the girl was okay, Bokuden lifted her up and placed her on the chair next to her, still passed out. He then finished getting changed and returned to Satomi to be briefed on the details.
It all seemed simple enough, especially for a shinobi. Bokuden would race through the library, picking up anything along his way and Satomi would follow with a duster tied to her tail to sweep the area. The library was still massive, but with their speed it shouldn’t take all that long. About half way through the cleaning process Bokuden and Satomi heard a loud scream coming from the front of the library as well as the breaking of glass and the sound of books hitting the floor. Fearing the worst they rushed to the entrance only to see Aoi running about knocking over everything in sight and screaming at the site of a spider. After seeing the mess Aoi had made of the area they had already cleaned, Bokuden began to wonder if he should kill the spider or Aoi, but soon just decided to fry the spider with a lightning bullet and dispose of it. He did afterall, need Aoi alive to confirm the success of the mission. After the last noteworthy event of the day Bokuden and Satomi finally finished cleaning the library and returned to the front desk to receive thanks from Aoi left to report the success of their mission. The whole way home however, Bokuden could not shake the feeling that he had forgotten something in the library. It turns out that he never did go and wake up the girl that had passed out in the library causing her to be locked in that night and to faint from fear upon waking up. The next day she would be found by Aoi and returned home.
