Gin

Gin

Retired
Gin had a certain spring in her step that morning. She was regaining her good mood and generally happy-go-lucky disposition. The worst had passed. The loss, pain and suffering were pretty much over and she was ready to resume her daily activities once again. She was out of the hospital and back to her usual weight and strength. There was nothing that a little training and a few outings to the local bar couldn't fix. The young Kazekage pressed a cigarette butt to her lips and took a long drag from it. She sighed happily, now heading towards the training grounds to meet her new team - recent graduates from the Academy that she had chosen herself to train. She reviewed their files and that of several other candidates before deciding to split the teams between several other Jounin and herself. Some may have argued that she already had enough on her plate, that she shouldn't take on a student, much less three. But the young Kazekage begged to differ. It was part of her responsibility to look after the village and ensure that the new generations were up to par with what they were supposed to be. She had to leave Sunagakure in good hands, should anything ever happen to her in battle.

So the young Gin Kuroka had sent out several messenger birds - including Tapioca, the chicken (or check in, if you pronounce it with the right accent). In any case, she was sure that her students would show up in the training grounds like she had asked them to. She already knew the drills that she wanted to run with them. This should be fun. Gin rather enjoyed this sort of thing. Sure, they might initially hate her for what she would put them through, but they would eventually come to thank her for it. After all, it was for their own good that she would put them through this little ordeal. Arriving at the empty grounds, slightly earlier than her students, she sat on the ground and began to wait for them to show up. She knew she would enjoy this little torture training session. In the meantime, she would keep on smoking her cigarette as she waited calmly.

Misoka

Misoka

D-rank
Misoka got up early that day; after all, she would be meeting her squad for the first time. She had to admit that she was a bit nervous.
Taking a deep breath, she walked into the bathroom and started brushing her teeth. Whilst doing so, one question after another popped up in her mind. What would her sensei be like? What about her teammates? She couldn't shake the feeling of hoping there wouldn't be any strong intimidating males in her squad. It was a weird thing to hope for, she knew that. And the background of this feeling wasn't something she enjoyed thinking about. Her mother's death anniversary was coming up anyway, in three days to be specific.
Misoka shook her head slightly, not allowing her to dwell on that thought. Quickly, she changed into her white top and short, black capri pants. Before going out, the girl took a few minutes to brush her hair and considered tying it up so it wouldn't possibly get in the way of her training. In the end, she decided against it, but couldn't help taking a hair-band with her... just in case she changed her mind. Yep, indecisive as always, aren't we, she thought sorely to herself and finally went out of the house.

Her stomach tingled yet again out of nervousness when Misoka reached the training grounds. She spotted a woman sitting in the sand, smoking a cigarette. After taking a closer look, Misoka's eyes widened: This was the Kazekage, no doubt about it! She had seen the head of the village a few times before; sometimes the Kazekage visited the academy; sometimes the young Karisuma saw her at the Grand Bazaar, mostly with two children.
So Gin-sama was going to be her sensei! Misoka felt highly honored and quickly chose to say something before Gin caught her staring.

"Good morning, Kazekage-sama," she said with a smile and bowed. "I take it you are the sensei of Team One?"
Misoka's smile widened. How lucky she was! Not only having the Kazekage train you, but also having a woman as sensei! She was certain that she would learn a lot from her. On a sidenote, Gin seemed very ... carefree? At least, her clothing style was clearly revealing, emphasizing on her slender body and well-developed breasts. One thing was for sure: Gin had no fear of men when she was leading them on like this.
Misoka couldn't suppress a surge of admiration for the woman in front of her. The nervousness faded and was replaced by excitement. What would her other two teammates be like? Her sensei was perfect so far!

Jezzi

Jezzi

D-rank
Jezzi's eyes fluttered open as a thin, dim beam of light broke through the crack of the boards that covered the windows to her dark, long-deserted shack. She groaned and rolled over on her bamboo bed roll, not wanting to leave the comfort of sleep, despite the fact that no one in their right minds would find that bedroll comfortable. However, as Jezzi attempted to drift back into slumber a nagging thought crept into her head. Why was there a bird next to her head? She looked back up and squinted. It was a small sparrow, Jezzi figured it had squeezed it's way through one of the holes in the roof. She pulled herself into a sitting position, the large sweater she used as a blanked falling off her body. She stretched out her back, arching it like a feline and smiled at the bird, her hand held out for it to sit on. The small avian creature jumped onto her finger; Jezzi noted how tame it seemed. She squinted more to see a rolled up parchment placed in its beak. "Huh? Is that for me?" She held out her palm; the bird dropped the note into her hand. She read it out, [color=violet]"Jezzi Seijun, you have been assigned to squad 1, meet your new squad-mates and sensei at the Tsumi Sand Grounds..."[color] She paused for a moment, still dazed from having just been roused. "RIGHT!" she exclaimed. She sprang up, causing the bird to be startled. It twittered angrily at her and flew out through the roof, presumable back to its owner.

Jezzi quickly got changed into some black gym shorts (not too loose and not too tight for ease of movement)and a plain, yellow, and somewhat over-sized t-shirt. She hesitantly pulled on some plain black flats with a strap that went over the top of the foot to keep them on; she was used to simply going bare-foot. She brushed her hair as quickly as she could and tied long strand at the front with a yellow ribbon that was given to her as a gift years prior. She brushed her teeth speedily and vigorously, wondering what the time was. She shoved her belongings into a secret hatch in wall she had found, where the boards of the wall could be taken off and put back on. She also took a couple rice balls she had stored in a plastic container, deciding to eat as she walked. She shoved the wallboard back in place and rushed out the door, scarfing down her rice balls.

Jezzi arrived at the designated training spot. She looked around the area to see a girl who appeared to be only a couple years older than her (but was nearly a foot taller), and a young woman. She sighed in relief at not being late. She looked back at the girl who was there and immediately her confidence took a hit. The girl was incredibly pretty, with long reddish blonde hair and a feminine figure. Her skin was also pure, with seemingly no imperfections. Jezzi frowned and thought of herself: her short, flat figure, her short, uneven green hair and bruises on her legs and arms. She frowned, and said nothing to her, knowing it'd be impossible for her to be polite. She then looked at who was to be her sensei and was amazed. [color=violet]"K-Kazekage-sama?"[\color] she said in a rather bewildered tone, forgetting completely to bow (which might have seemed impolite considering the high position of the woman in front of her) She had only met this woman once, but it was brief-when she moved into the village. She had forgotten how womanly the Kazekage's figure was and immediately thought that she'd have to get used to feeling insecure. She suddenly realized she was being rude and bowed. "Are you my sensei? she asked, wondering if kages could even be senseis.

Kaizen

Kaizen

D-rank
Kaizen had been asleep since about twelve a.m. doing nothing but reading up on how to rapidly regenerate cells within ones body. It was a rather good book and he intended on finishing it when he woke up. But fate would have different plans for him as he woke up to the sound of a bird at his window. He took a second to look at the bird and then noticed that it had somehow opened his window from the outside. H-how did you manage that?! He asked in a confused tone. Of course the bird just cawed at him and turned slightly. That is when he noticed a small piece of paper. He took said paper and looked and began to read it. After he was done a few moments later he crumpled it up and yawned.

He got out of bed, wearing nothing but his boxes, and stood up. He looked around for his glasses and put them on while trying to also find his pants. He managed to slide his pants on without much of a problem, leaving his belt undone. He then took a fresh white, short sleeve, button up shirt out of his closet and began buttoning it up. He soon tucked in his shirt and fastened his belt. He took his shinobi boots and quickly slid them on as he tried moving out of his room, knocking into some things. He began to run for the front door and as he passed his parents he looked to them and said Sorry, no time for breakfast! I've got to go meet my new team!! As he shut the door behind him, he threw on his coat and buttoned it. He looked both ways and pushed his glasses up to the proper point on his nose and then began to walk to the left.

As he walked towards the designated area, he began to think that it would be better if he had got in some exercise and took off in a full on run. He lowered his stance and leaned forward while keeping his arms level with his torso (just like how all ninja run). This allowed him to be more aerodynamic. As he ran he thought that it would be interesting to see his squad and sensei for the first time. But he also began to ponder what they would think of him. Not wanting to be late, he began to focus on the run. Eyes glued to his path; he kicked it into high gear. He was going almost top speed; he figured he would make it on time if he ran like this.

Kaizen was approaching his destination and he could see three figures ahead. As he got closer, he noticed one was sitting down and the other two were standing. He figured that the one sitting was his new Sensei. Just as he was about to slow down, and due to the face he wasn't focusing on his running, he hit his foot on a rock and tripped. He tried to catch his balance but it wasn't any use. So he put his right hand to the ground to try and help but as he looked towards the group, he knew impact was almost a promise. As he got close to the one sitting, he lost complete balance and began to tumble sideways. ~Damn it..I-I'm going to hit her!~ is all he could think. But at the last few seconds he put his left hand on the ground, quickly pushing himself up and managed to plant both legs on the ground, allowing him to push off with them and go into the air, front flipped over his Sensei and landed behind his two teammates.

For a second, all he could think about was how cool it must have looked but then he got really nervous at the fact that what just happened was his first impression on them. He must have looked like an idiot. He quickly turned to face his Sensei and bowed. He could catch a glimpse of her face and he couldn't believe his eyes. I'm sorry Kazekage-sama! I was r-r-running and I lost my b-balance!! He explained in an embarrassed tone. His stutter came back and he knew he would be in deep trouble. As he stood back up and looked to his two teammates, he froze at the sight of the shorter one. ~Jezzi?!~ Kaizen thought to himself as he tried not to stare at her too much. He then thought it would be right to introduce himself. I-I'm Genko, Kaizen! Medic and hand-to-hand combat s-s-shinobi! It is a p-pleasure to meet you all!! He told them, bowing once more. He hoped that the Kazekage was a bit relaxed and easy going for his sake.

And now it was time to play a waiting game with these three kids. Well, they weren't exactly children, except for one of them - the young Jezzi. The other two were well of age. When she was 15, Gin had already reached the level of Jounin. Then again, she was a strange case. She had started her training at age eleven and had managed to become Kazekage only seven years later. The young woman shrugged. Maybe she was just naturally talented? In any case, she would get these kids up to the level of Jounin soon enough - rigorous training and all that. And it would be starting, today, of course. Gin put out the cigarette against the sole of her sandal. And again, waiting. She pulled out one of her novels from her item's pouch and began to read where she had left off - Icha Icha Paradaisu, a classic from over 100 years ago but also one of her favorite novels. What could she say? the young Kazekage really enjoyed, well, smut. There was no other way of saying it. The young woman was open with her sexuality. Gin shrugged to herself.

Gin waited only for a very few while before the first of the kids came to her. Of course, the young Misoka, a member of the Karisuma Clan. And as one of them, she was cursed with beauty. Despite her simple clothing, meant of course to train and not show off her body, she still looked beautiful. "Good morning," Gin said in a sing song voice, closing her book and slipping it back into the pouch. She clapped her hands together and still sat on the ground. "Come, sit next to me while we wait for the others," She said happily. But there was hardly a chance for that, seeing as the other girl on their team arrived soon after. Gin clapped her hands together. "Good, goood, you're only a little late," She said. The girl looked thin and frail. To be honest, Gin still wondered why she had chosen the youg kid to be a part of her team. She was a Senju, or at least had the abilities of one. But still, she was ill, to the point where it affected her usefulness in battle. But Gin had gone on a whim with her. The young Kazekage had some sort of instinct that told her that the girl would be able to do great things. "Get up, no need to bow," She said. Gin rather disliked such displays of respect. It made her feel uncomfrotable. Now, all they had to do was wait for... Kaizen, who had just tripped and rolled over them all. Wonderful! "Well, that's that," She said, not bothering to make a snide remark on how clumsy the boy was.

She stood up, wiping the dirt off of her clothing. "So!" She said, before even bothering to introduce herself. "Who got the chicken?" She asked, mostly out of curiosity. She wanted to know who had gotten woken up by Tapioca. Once they would answer that, she would get things going. "Now! Let's cut the crap," She began, now having all of her students there, she could finally get things going. "I already know who you are and all that. No need for introductions. You graduated together, right? You should already no each other. No need to waste time. As for me? I'm world famous. Gin Kuroka - I'm the Kazekage and I use swords. Any questions?" She said. It was just like her to cut directly to the chase. She disliked pleasantries.

Misoka

Misoka

D-rank
The Kazekage returned her smile and gestured for Misoka to sit down, but before she could do so, another girl approached them. It was a small and presumably very young ... child. Misoka blinked a few times - This child graduated from academy already? She searched her memory for the green-haired girl, but soon had to admit to herself that she had never spoken to her. She couldn't even recall her name. Whatever. It was wrong to judge others by their appearance so Misoka turned to the girl and flashed her a hopefully encouraging smile. She didn't want the child to feel uncomfortable, being the youngest and all.
However, Misoka's smile was not returned this time; instead the little girl shot her a look which could certainly not be misread. Gulp. Okay, what did she ever do to her?
When the green-haired child didn't even greet Misoka and only spoke to the Kazekage, the Karisuma had seen enough to be offended. She huffed quietly, her eyes fixated on Gin as she did not want to meet the child's gaze. Hah, she could play that ignorance game, too!

Just then, the third team member rushed in - literally - and almost ran over their sensei. Misoka blinked a few times and before she had the chance to hold herself back, she broke out in a small giggle. What the hell was the boy doing? A little morning run? In any case, he did a good job entertaining the crew, at least in her eyes.
"Well, that's that," she heard Gin say sorely. Oh, the Kazekage didn't seem to find his joke that funny. Misoka's laughter subsided rather quickly and she felt a bit stupid for having been the only one giggling away.

"So!" Gin stood up. "Who got the chicken?"
Chicken? Misoka's expression turned blank. Could it be that...? She was quite the morning person so she had got up early as always and well, she did see a chicken crawling and flapping in her room. On the window sill, the girl found a scroll which said where the squad was going to meet. However, she had assumed that her father had put it there, not the bird!

"Oh, um, I guess that's me!" She cut in. "It's a ... well, very cute chicken." 'Which you took and kicked out of the window, remember?' She was certainly not going to say this aloud!
Fortunately, their sensei didn't dig deeper and went straight to her own introduction. In the meanwhile, Misoka took a look at the boy standing next to her, trying to remember him from the academy. How come she had such a hard time recalling faces, let alone names? He was tall, but he didn't seem to be too frightening to her. He wore glasses and had more of a slim than broad body. All right, she could manage that. This guy would help her overcome her fear of men or at least he would be a good test for the start.
Her eyes automatically went to her other teammate standing on her right side. Yep, the little girl who had wanted to kill her with her gaze. Misoka took a deep breath to stop these dark thoughts - they were a team now, after all! She shouldn't be so easily offended.

"Any questions?"
What are the names of my teammates? - No, this would certainly not make a good impression. So Misoka kept silent, waiting for the others to say something.

Jezzi

Jezzi

D-rank
Jezzi sighed out of relief. She had been worried that it was first thing in the morning and she had already insulted someone. But then she looked back at the blonde girl and frowned. She could tell by the look on the girl's face that she had been put off by Jezzi somehow. She crinkled her nose, had her unpleasant feelings been so obvious? She tried to smile pleasantly but it probably came across as a struggle.

She then turned to Kaizen who she felt surprised but grateful to see. It was nice to know that no EVERYONE she would have to train with would be a girl more attractive than she. "graceful as a swan, Kaizen." she teased, with a wry smile on her face. She tried to ignore the fact that she still wasn't comfortable with the other member of the squad. She felt a bit silly for being so self-conscious but brushed the feeling off. She spoke up, "Well actually I know Kaizen but not her...." She said, pointing to the blonde female. She figured she might as well attempt to introduce herself. "I'm Jezzi... I use earth-style and eventually wood-style... I also know a bit of healing..." she said, trying to hide the disdain in her voice. Why am I being like this? she scolded herself. Her inner voice had an answer. Probably because you know that she's prettier than you'll ever be... That just made her feel worse and her face seemed to hold even more negativity. So as the blonde stepped forward Jezzi crossed her arms and stared at the ground. Then she remembered something. "oh!" she said, not too loud but enough so that they might have heard it. She took a pouch that was tied to her shorts and took a single black tablet out and swallowed it, hoping she took it in time. Should be fine....

Kaizen

Kaizen

D-rank
Kaizen was happy to see that he was the only male on the team. He wouldn't have to worry about anyone else challenging him to fights constantly. He did notice that they were all males and that made him nervous though. If it did come down to fighting, how could he possibly hit a woman? He knew that he would have to but he would have rather not. He was soon snapped out of his little thoughts by the sound of his Sensei's voice. He had listened to her speak about a chicken. He didn't get any chickens at his house. It had to be one of them. He then heard the one, blonde haired girl answer and then right after that, the Sensei began to talk again. Gin began to talk about them graduating together but Kaizen couldn't think of a time that he saw them. But then again, he did always have his nose in the books.

She continued on about who she was and what not. Kaizen was just shocked that the Kazekage would pick him to be a part of her squad. Kaizen didn't even know the Kage was able to get a squad. Once she had finished explaining herself to them, she had asked if there were any questions. Kaizen could think of a few. The only q-question I have, Kazekage-sama, is w-what do you plan on having u-us do today? he asked her, wondering what it is he would have to do, just so he would know if he was prepared or not. Kaizen figured that since it was the Kazekage, she would make it tough on them, since Kage's were known to have trained some of the best shinobi around.

Kaizen then had a question in his head that he couldn't shake. Why pick three seemingly weak Genin? Obviously she would train them but why them? Kaizen couldn't help but to think about it. It was his job to analyze everything, so he did. He just hoped him and his teammates were able to work together as a cohesive team. On the bright side, getting trained by the Kage was something to be proud of and should be considered an honor. Which for Kaizen, it was.

Gin

Gin

Retired
Gin rubbed her hands together and smiled widely. Her team was what she expected. The three of them seemed inexperienced, yet eager. That was what mattered in the end: How much effort they were willing to put into their training. With that, lack of talent and physical capabilities could be easily overlooked. In the end, having talent only gave you a small advantage; it didn't ensure that you would become successful. No, for that, you needed a lot of time and a steady hand to guide you. And that was what Gin was there for, really, to help them along the way and to accompany them during some of their more difficult missions. She wondered how that would play out. She wanted to get a good glimpse of what they could do before assigning them anything. That way she could chose a mission that would adapt to their needs and abilities. And of course, she would need to test them and train them for that. She smirked when Kaizen asked what she had planned, exactly.

Truth be told, she hadn't really planned anything just yet. She wanted to improvise, or so she told herself. In reality, she had almost completely forgotten that she had scheduled this little thing for today. That, and she was much too lazy to plan out this sort of thing. Fortunately, she was good at coming up with a plan rather quickly. After a few seconds, she already had a roughly formulated idea. She had developed the concept of a new jutsu in her head, a shield of sorts that was almost invisible to the naked eye. The concept was stuck in her head and she already knew how to work with it. The only thing missing was actually trying it out. She considered it for a few seconds. Anticipation filled the ait, mostly on the side of the three Genin. "It's simple," Gin finally began, after a couple of minutes of tense silence. "I'll build a shield around myself. All you three have to do is break it. Sounds like a good warm up, no?" She explained. Now it was time to actually develop the shield itself. Gin took a deep breath.

It would be rather embarrassing to fail at it. She was supposed to set the example of the Genin. Not only that, but she was the Kazekage, and supposedly the strongest shinobi in the country. She doubted that the kids would ever respect her power and authority if she had her own jutsu blow up in her face. However, that had happened countless of times before. With Ezra, her former student, she had landed on her ass after trying to walk on the air for the very first time. With Trilby, also a former student as well as current body guard, she had blown herself into a set of bleachers in the Sandy Arena after trying a wind jutsu that wound up backfiring. She frowned slightly for a brief moment. Those hadn’t been her best moments. Chakra control had never quite been her area of expertise. She had always found it relatively hard, which was why she stuck with swords rather than medical jutsu or genjutsu which required form control over the mind and body.

In any case, it was time to try this out. Gin closed the palm of her hand around Sabaku no Bara – one of her more simple swords and a gift from the aforementioned Trilby. She stared at the blade for a brief moment and smiled. It always reminded her of him. For some reason, that made her happy. She turned around and took several steps away from her new students and smiled. She pointed the sword towards them and closed her eyes to concentrate. She channeled chakra through the blade, finding it easier to maintain the jutsu that way. She held it firmly and began pouring a steady stream of chakra into it. Exiting the sword, the chakra formed a bubble around the young Kazekage. It seemed sturdy enough. There, she was done. Now to see if the jutsu worked, all she needed was for her students to try and attack it. “There,” She said, deciding to sit on the ground and pull out her book once again. “You can start, now,” She suggested sternly.

Misoka

Misoka

D-rank
A tiny pinch of displeasure engulfed her as she found out that the two Genins knew each other already. She seemed misplaced, almost like standing in the way of their friendship.
Quickly, Misoka decided to shake off this feeling, telling herself that she was being ridiculous. Only because she didn't know them yet did not mean she wasn't going to. They were a squad now and they had to work together, to become a team and as for that embrace teamwork. This, in turn, required getting to know each other, their strengths and weaknesses, simply turning from strangers, in her case, to friends.
It didn't matter whether she would have to take one more step towards them in order to achieve that.
Preoccupied with her thoughts, she almost overheard the little girl introducing herself. With a surprised face, she turned to her - Jezzi, as she said, - and noticed the small smile on her lips. Although it was a bit cracked, Misoka felt relieved to see that Jezzi didn't dislike her at first sight. Or at least, not completely.
The green-haired spoke in a soft, yet firm tone. Still, the fact that she had even bothered introducing herself put a smile on Misoka's face.

"Thank you for letting me know, Jezzi-chan," the Karisuma replied. Her smile softened and she went on as if she was an adult talking to a little child. She even bent down a bit, thinking Jezzi might be uncomfortable with her height. "I'm Misoka. I also use Earth Style so it seems we have something in common! Isn't that great?"
A small laugh escaped her lips. She obviously tried very hard to cheer up the girl or child as she still liked to think about Jezzi. She hoped that her good intentions would be noticeable to her teammate.
Just then, Jezzi's mouth formed a soft "Oh" before taking a black tablet out of her pouch and swallowing it.

Misoka couldn't believe her eyes. She backed away ever so slightly, the same thought running through her mind over and over. Drugs. Not only was the little girl a bit grumpy today, she also seemed to have a drug problem. Oh. My. God. But she was so young and already an addict! And.. and she wasn't even embarrassed about displaying this issue in public. Something must have gone badly wrong in Jezzi's life.
Misoka bit her lower lip, musing whether or not she should speak her mind about how exactly she felt about drugs.

The decision was out of her hands when her male teammate, Kaizen, broke the silence.
"The only q-question I have, Kazekage-sama, is w-what do you plan on having u-us do today?"
A slight grin spread over Misoka's lips once again. First, Kaizen had some kind of stutter problem. Secondly, he hadn't even bothered to ask what her name was and instead immediately focused on the training they were here for. 'Yes, Hi to you, too,' she thought, but was more amused than offended this time. The boy seemed just like a n-... um, smart teen wanting to know everything about the technical ninja stuff. Or shinobis in general. She was sure he was a little shy as well, considering his stutter.

Then Gin announced their first training and created a transparent shield around her.
"All you three have to do is break it. Sounds like a good warm up, no?"

Misoka blinked in astonishment, seeing that Gin just plopped down on the ground and started reading a book. The young blonde stepped forward. She would be the first trying to break this shield. In her mind, she already went through all the things she could do.
How about she took the chance to train her new jutsu, the Fire Dance? The next moment, she almost dismissed this thought because she knew she was nowhere near to accomplishing this technique yet. But then again, how was she going to learn it without training?
So she took a deep breath, sending chakra to her feet. 'I'll just try to ignite at least some tiny flames'.
After that, she rushed forward and spinned in one of her favourite dances while she glimpsed a few sparks coming from her legs. Not enough for a proper attack, obviously. She stopped her dance, which hadn't lasted long anyway, and instead used up the chakra in her legs to perform another Katon technique.
~Fire Style: Small fire~
Since she was close enough to the shield now, the small fire she spewed out hit the target perfectly. However, it did ... nothing. The shield didn't even show any signs of a crack.

Misoka stood there, dumbfounded, but slowly, her expression was replaced with amazement. She didn't expect any less from the Kazekage. Problem was: How would they actually break through that shield of hers? Ninjutsu didn't seem to do much, if any, damage.
She turned around to face her teammates and shrugged. "I guess it's your turn to take a try." A slight smile appeared on her face.
She felt a bit embarrassed for failing like that, but then again, this was the Kazekage's jutsu they were fighting.

Jezzi sighed as Misoka spoke to her and tried her best to create a friendly smile, but the smile ended up looking more like a grimace. She also noticed Misoka staring at her while she took her medicine. She raised an eyebrow. Why is she staring at me like that? Jezzi suddenly felt even more insecure, as if she was being judged. Being used to taking the medicine daily she wouldn't have guessed that it was suspicious-looking to be taking them in broad daylight.

Jezzi looked away from Misoka and Kaizen and to Gin. She was nervous to begin her training and had no idea how she would fair against her fellow squad mates. "It's simple," Gin finally began, after a couple of minutes of tense silence. "I'll build a shield around myself. All you three have to do is break it. Sounds like a good warm up, no?" Oh, is that it? She thought to herself. But Gin was a kage.... breaking a shield she created wouldn't be easy.. She doubted that using brute force and with only one of the ninjas would create a success. Jezzi began playing with the longer strand of hair near here face, her mind creating a strategy. She whispered to Kaizen, "I doubt any one of us could break the shield, and I don't think just attacking her would do it either..... She's a kage, right? We need to distract her or attack her under her shield somehow, do you have any ideas?" She was sure that Gin wouldn't have been able to hear them since at the time, Misoka was using her fire-style to try and break the shield. Jezzi may not win in a fight of brute force against someone else, but she was at least cunning and strategical.

Kaizen began to think about what Gin had said. ~Break her shield, huh? Doesn't seem too hard but I doubt that it will break with pure strength. Well, I have to go through all the paces to find out~ Kaizen had thought to himself and just as he went to try it Jezzi spoke to him in a soft voice. She did have a point. Gin wouldn't put up a shield that could break so easily. He then thought about what Jezzi said about under the shield. And it clicked in his head. They would have to distract her first and then have someone use doton and break the ground inside the shield. He looked towards Jezzi and smirked. I w-was thinking th-that too. Find out f-f-from Misoka if she can use Doton (earth style). We have to distract her while Misoka starts the jutsu. Kaizen spoke in a soft voice to make sure Gin wouldn't be able to hear them. He hoped that Misoka could use Doton or else they would be screwed.

Kaizen looked towards Misoka and smiled. He turned towards Gin and rolled up his left sleeve getting ready to attack. He would start the distraction. Alright, since I'm the fastest and strongest within the Genin, I'll see what I can do to it. Kaizen spoke out loud before launching himself towards Gin shield. He ran up to it and threw his left straight punch with about 70% power. He then jumped up and forced his right leg downward to try and smash the top of the shield. He finished it off with a downward elbow strike. He couldn't tell if it did anything or not but the shield seemed to still be standing. He then looked back to them and hoped they were ready. He waited to see before he made another move.

Life was good, thought Gin as she sighed and made herself comfortable. With her book in hand, she could just lie there on the grass while the Genin tried to break through the shield that she was holding up. She yawned and stretched. She was pretending not to care and not to pay attention to the Genin, but of course she would look at them through the corner of her half closed eyes. She would smile mischievously and she would wait for them to make the first move. They didn't know the exact properties of the shiled. Hell, Gin hadn't even called its name out loud. This was bound to produce a very interesting outcome indeed. Misoka's first attempt at cracking the shield simply bounced off with a light doing. "You're gonna have to try harder than that," Said the Kazekage as she flipped to the next chapter of her book. She sounded bored, but that was only meant to taunt the Genin. With her special talents in Kenjutsu, D rank jutsu were useless against her shiled. All she had to do was keep pouring chakra through her blade, which now rested across her lap.

Gin hummed under her breath as she kept watching the Genin whilts reading her novel. And now for what would probably be the highlight of the whole training session. Kaizen charged the shield head on. Gin couldn't help but giggle. She knew a taijutsu user when she saw one. She had also designed this shield to work perfectly against anyone who used taijutsu against it. She flipped another page and sighed happily as the young boy striked the shield. Now, you see, the barrier itself was mae out of a gum like substance that was sticky and flexible. Kaizen would without a doubt stick to it if he came into contact with the surface of the shield. At that point, Gin would momentarily drop her book just so that she could point and laugh. "Haha!" She began. "Rule number one, kids, don't charge an attack head on if you have no idea what it does or what it's made out of. If you do, things like this," She said pointing over to Kaizen. "Will without a doubt happen," She said. She would then move the shield so that Kaizen would be thrown off balance as he was bounced off towards the other end of the field. "Anyone else want to try?" She asked, once again picking up the book from the ground next to her.

Misoka was quickly informed by her teammates about their plan. She took a deep breath and prepared the jutsu the moment Kaizen ran off to distract the sensei.
~Doton: Doryu Taiga~
At once, the ground beneath their sensei crumbled and soon turned into a river of mud - Wait, no. The shield seemed to shift for a second, letting out a loud "Boing" and the ground stopped moving.

"It-It was deflected!"
Misoka called out in surprise before putting two and two together. Both of the attacks she had used were ninjutsu. There was no doubt then that the shield was completely immune to this kind of jutsu.

Her eyes went to Kaizen and widened once again at that sight. The boy had obviously tried to hit and kick the shield and now his right foot was glued! She heard Gin laugh out loud and making her shield move for the slightest bit so Kaizen fell off.

"Anyone else want to try?" Their sensei's mischievous smile could be seen all too well.

With a pensive face, Misoka walked back to Jezzi and Kaizen, who joined them shortly after. "What shall we do now? Ninjutsu and Taijutsu don't have any effect, it seems."
She fell silent, pondering about the possible ways they could break through the shield. Maybe the jutsus she'd used were only too weak to make any difference.
"We could charge at Gin-sensei altogether," she suggested hesitantly. "I only know Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, though. But... perhaps, three Ninjutsus at the same time might be doing something. Which specialties do you have?"
All this time, she kept her voice down so the Kazekage wouldn't catch anything of their conversation.

Jezzi was fiddling with her hair again. Gin was no pushover, and she could tell the kazekage wouldn't go easy on them either. She looked at Misoka who had again foolishly attacked her head on. Jezzi's nose crinkled. Maybe I should attack anyways... might create a distraction... She positioned her hands into the "tiger" seal and called out "Doton:Doryu Taiga"
~Doton:Doryu Taiga(Earth Release:Earth Flow River)~

She targeted the earth beneath Gin's feet, turning it into mud. She knew this was a move meant for when the target was attacking the Doton user head on but Jezzi hoped that throwing her off balance would cause the shield to break.

Kaizen

Kaizen

D-rank
Kaizen had been thrown away after being stuck to the shield. He was slow to get up as it hurt a little when he landed. That was obvious though. Once he had gotten up, he looked on as Jezzi used an Doton jutsu as well. They needed a stronger jutsu. He didn't have anything powerful enough, all of his were simple medical jutsu. They were just a bunch of Genin that didn't have many jutsu learned like a Kage would. Kaizen just began to go into thought mode. He kneeled down some and just stared at Gin's shield. ~Let's see. If minor attacks won't work and Taijutsu won't work, that means we need something stronger. I doubt any of us have anything too strong. Maybe if the two of them attacked at once. Two lower level jutsu can still amount to something.! Kaizen had thought in his head. He then stood back up and walked over to his team mates.

Listen you two, I don't know if this will work, but both of you need to attack at the same time. It doesn't have to get through and hit her, it just has to be enough to break the shield. I am thinking that we can overload the shield to break it. All you have to do is attack it from two sides. He spoke, in a soft tone, to them. He knew it had to break somehow. It's sort of like being attacked on two sides in a war. One side will always fall. Kaizen told them. He figured he was on to something. After all, being attacked on two sides at the same time often mean splitting the power, or in this case, the defense, into two spots, which, in most cases, weakens the overall durability or defensive power of the receiving end. It should, over all, make the shield unable to withstand attacks in two spots. Misoka, Attack her sheild from the left side and Jezzi, you attack from the right. It should make it where the shield can't support against both attacks. You two have to do it at the same time though, so go on my mark. Work together so we can beat her. Kaizen said as he took a step back and waited a moment.

Now! Kaizen let out, in a normal tone, hoping they would be in almost perfect sync with each other. This needed to work or else they were out of ideas.

Jezzi's technique had no effect at all on the shiled, which stuck firmly in place and refused to move. Gin shook her head, closing the book she had once again and leaving it to rest beside her. She would resumer reading it in a short while, she supposed. A shame, she was getting to the rather... steamy parts of the book. She pursed her lips. Had she been a man, reading those things in public would have been much more difficult. She turned to look at her three students once again. She supposed she couldn't just sit there while the three of them made dozens of futile attempts to break through her barrier jutsu. She sighed. It was time to give them a little hint. "So! As the three of you might have guessed already, this is no normal shield. Low ranking attacks - combined or otherwise - are pretty much useless," She began, her posture more rigid now that she had taken on a much more serious demeanor.

Gin's katana still lay across her lap with chakra being channeled through it to keep the shield working. She was quite proud of the jutsu she had made. It was sturdy, yet flexible and kept out most of the things she feared, namely most types of genjutsu. But now wasn't the time to sit and admire her own cration. She had Genin to train. "If the type of technique you're using now doesn't work, why not try another one? A higher rank, perhaps?" She suggested, staying in place and watching them curiously. She wanted to know what they would try next. She couldn't have been more direct, really. If they didn't get what they were supposed to do by now, all hope was lost. Might as well send them back to the Academy or retire them as shinobi altogether.

Misoka

Misoka

D-rank
Misoka threw a confused glance at Jezzi who, instead of listening to her, used the exact same jutsu on their sensei's shield. Needless to say, it didn't have any effect. Perhaps the little girl hadn't heard her, she reasoned, but wasn't too convinced of her own explanation.
Then Kaizen turned to both of them and suggested an idea.
Again, the exact same idea Misoka had just thrown into the conversation. She struggled to keep the polite smile on her lips. The truth was, however, that it did annoy her a bit to know no-one had listened to her in the first place.

She wondered if she should make a sarcastic comment about the situation, but before she could say anything at all, Gin raised her voice.
Surprised, Misoka turned around to see their sensei standing up and looking straight at them.
"If the type of technique you're using now doesn't work, why not try another one? A higher rank, perhaps?"

Higher rank. Of course! If they used a C-rank jutsu, it would naturally have more effect on the shield. The perfect plan would be to use three C-rank jutsus at the same time.
Misoka's thoughts wandered to her newly developed Fire Dance Jutsu. She could do that one if she tried hard enough.

"We can do this," she said to her teammates with an encouraging smile. "I'll start. We'll only use C-Rank jutsus from now on, all right?"

Having said that, the blonde took a deep breath and prepared herself. Swift movement. Decent chakra control.
She kept all these things in mind when she rushed forward and spinned in an amazing speed.
At the same time, bright flames crept up her legs. Using her chakra control, the girl shot the fire towards the shield. A loud burning sound could be heard.
The flames slowly fizzled out, revealing a seemingly unharmed shield yet again. However, Misoka had expected that it wouldn't be that easy.

Quickly, she got out of the way and called out to Jezzi,"Your turn!"

Jezzi

Jezzi

D-rank
Jezzi frowned as her jutsu failed, but she was not overly surprised. After all it would take more than a few measly low-ranking jutsus to take this shield down, considering it was created by no less than the Kazekage herself! "If the type of technique you're using now doesn't work, why not try another one? A higher rank, perhaps?" Jezzi nodded to herself, deciding that she must use her strongest attack. She only hoped it would work.

Jezzi was preparing her next attack when Kaizen spoke up. "Listen you two, I don't know if this will work, but both of you need to attack at the same time. It doesn't have to get through and hit her, it just has to be enough to break the shield. I am thinking that we can overload the shield to break it. All you have to do is attack it from two sides." Jezzi stopped and pondered what he had said. He does have a point She spoke up "Good idea, and use your strongest attacks, obviously the more power put into attacks, the more likely it is to break the shields.." It was beginning to seem fitting that her and Kaizen were together in a team. Jezzi wasn't the strongest fighter but she was fairly good at battle strategies. Clearly, Kaizen had the same talent as well. Though it was hard to tell if Misoka put as much thought into her attacks. From what she had seen, Jezzi assumed she was more of a direct fighter than a strategist.

Jezzi watched as Misoka began to power up her attack. She didn't really like the idea of having to attack alongside the blonde but her inner voice shook some sense into her. You guys have to be a team, so you have to work with her, whether you like it or not. Don't be such an idiot. crude as the voice's words were, she admitted that this time, it made some sense. She knew which jutsu to use, but her limbs were shaky with nervousness, having never used this jutsu successfully before. She waited for Misoka to make her move as she tried to steady herself. As soon as the blonde began chargin at Gin, she took a deep breath and made her own hand signals.

"Doton: Retsudo Tenshō!"

She aimed her chakra again at the ground below Gin, using her full strength knowing that a Genin's jutsu would not be enough to seriously harm the kazekage, so she was not worried about crushing Gin. Once the jutsu had been completed she fell on all fours and began panting heavily. Damnit.... did I use too much chakra? She said to herself. She cursed herself for her low stamina and poor health. Jezzi stayed there for a moment, hoping that none of her teammates nor her sensei noticed her exhaustion. She refused to give up now. So she forced herself back to her feet and ignored the heavy, somewhat gelatinous feeling in her arms and legs. She closed her eyes and waited for a response, pleading for the jutsu to have worked. If it didn't than she had no idea what to do next. She hoped Kaizen would know enough to attack with all he had at the same time as them.

Kaizen knew that they would have to work together on the next attack and finally break the shield. His problem was that he knew that taijutsu attacks didn't really work on the shield. He then thought about a technique he had been working on. It was simple but he knew it was weak and wasn't sure if it would work. Either way he started to put chakra into his left arm, his dominate one. Thinking about how the steps of the jutsu went. He had only used it a couple times during his training but wasn't sure how effective it would be. Knowing that his being would be caught in her shield upon contact before being thrown backwards, his only hope was that the combined attacks of the three genin would help burst her bubble, so to speak. Kaizen stood up straight, his right hand gripping his left shoulder. It helped him concentrate his chakra into his arm. The chakra would make the upcoming punch stronger than he would normally by able to punch. The power of the punch would be able to put cracks into some of the hardest rock. It might not have been as strong as some of the other jutsu that dealt with strength but it was powerful enough to hurt.

Kaizen watched as his teammates began to work together. He looked at Misoka do her Katon jutsu and then within seconds, Jezzi did her Doton jutsu. Having them do theirs first let Kaizen focus on his chakra. He noticed that once Jezzi had finished hers, she was panting, he took note of it but then started his own attack. He began running towards Gin, keeping his left arm ready to strike. He then jumped, making sure he could hit the upper part of the shield. Ninpo: Chikyū funsai hyōji He then thrusted his left arm towards Gin's shield, feeling his fist sink into the shield some. He knew that it was iffy, but he figured that the Katon would disrupt the shield, the Doton would then make it even more unbalanced and his punch would just be icing on the cake, so to speak. The chances weren't good and he could feel his body go flying backwards towards his teammates again. He was able to land on his feet that time and crouched just behind his two teammates.

Di-did it work? Kaizen asked, panting slightly. The jutsu took it out of him. His stamina wasn't the best and he knew that. However, he did try and hide it from the other two. He focused on Misoka and Jezzi. Misoka seemed okay overall but Jezzi had been panting. He didn't want her to over do it. He would continue to keep his eye on her, to make sure she wouldn't pass out or get too fatigued. Focusing back on Gin, he wanted to make sure the shield would go down, so he began to put chakra into his arm again. Waiting to see if the shield had broken down once the dust had settled.
