Somewhere near the edge of the slums, a poorly constructed old shack skulked. Its clay walls were decaying from the sand and age, its windows boarded shut and the tiles of its dust-caked roof clung desperately to the abandoned shack. Well, almost abandoned.
The door sneaked open, its rusty hinges whining out in stress. Out of the doorway stepped an unexpected sight. It was a very small girl with shortish green hair and large purple eyes. Jezzi's face and body held the softness of a child, despite her slimness. She donned black exercise pants and a white gi top. She closed the door with a loud CREAK, and stepped out from the shadows of the battered home. The girl padded along the ground for a brief moment before stopping. She gazed around the nearly empty slums, and watched as a lonely breeze of sand and dust crept along the ground. Jezzi looked at her bare feet and lifted one up, twisting it so she could inspect the bottom, only to see it grey with dust. Her nose crinkled with disgust and she brushed off the gray film vigorously. “Why did I decide to join this village again?” she muttered to herself and she continued to slowly journey away from the shack. Because they didn't ask where you came from A familiar, cynical voice inside her head stated. The voice seemed to berate Jezzi if it felt she was making a bad decision or said something silly. However, she had no response and she knew that this time, the voice was right. She sighed and walked along the street of the slums, trying to keep her balance on a ledge.
She pondered the last few days. She had finally become a Genin and the next day, she would meet her teammates and sensei. Jezzi was nervous about this. First she wondered if she'd be good enough. She knew her stamina was low, her constitution poor and her taijutsu skills were pathetic. She had been a good enough studier but she felt it wouldn't be enough. She also wondered what her teammates and sensei would be like. Would she know how to act? Would she just let a team down? And what if she were to lose control of her chakra when they were around? Would she be a danger? Thinking about her chakra, she reached for a pouch that was tied to her pants and took out one red tablet. She popped it in her mouth and swallowed, not needing water to swallow it. Just as she was wondering what to do next she saw someone who seemed to stand out from the slums.
