'Seems like there's nothing to do today. I don't feel like taking another mission as of yet, might just go down to the underground fighting arena and see what's going on down there. heck, i might even be lucky enough to show up during a fight' thought Shibirin, as he made his way towards the Koudo Sutajiamu, a place where most ninja came to fight and train. He had his three katana with him: Genko, Sai and Noro, all sheathed by his left hip.

When he arrived at the Koudo Sutajiamu, he went underneath the ground, towards where there duelling platform was. He stopped just before stepping onto the platform: there was no one duelling. The place was literally empty, guess it wasn't his lucky day. He made his way towards the center of the platform: he hadn't fought in a place like this before. Back in Suna, the duelling place there had a round platform, this one was shaped like a rectangle and slightly larger than the one in Suna. Shibirin decided to stay here for a while, maybe some one would come in and fight with him.

The world seemed to like to give Kaiten a hard time. He was supposed to be working in his new found position as a chuunin but what duties did he get first? the same ones as ever, his clan duties. Not just his usual clan duties of making sure everyone got enough money to feed themselves, but now he was going to have to play babysitter for some stupid brat. This so called "adult" had slipped off to Kouda Sutajima, Something about betting on fights. Kai sighed with great irritation, his face hidden under his hood, casting shadows that threw darkness over his face. He didn't want anyone to see him here until he could withdraw his subordinate.

As he arrived, the place was bustling. There was barely enough room to get through, making it so much harder for him to find his man. Why was so many people here? He thought these fights were uncivilized, yet there was so much interest in them. Finally he noticed his subordinate, walking around the edge of the arena, as if he was about to go out to fight some kid in the arena. The kid was wielding three swords.... Santoryu style? Kai thought that the only ones who used three swords were those clan members from Suna, and those guys were very rare. Besides, why would a sand ninja be in the rock village? that didn't make any sense. Although... he himself was an immigrant, coming from a life as a nomad to the village, so it shouldn't be a surprise that other people could do that too. Maybe he was just mistaken though. It wasn't like Santoryu was a kekkei genkai, not like his tarot jutsus or his cousin's Force Sword Creation jutsu. It was just another talent, like juggling or running specifically fast or something silly like that. Then something struck him. If one sword was held in one hand and the other was held in the second, where would you put the third one? In your mouth or something?

As the man stepped out of the throng and towards the platform, Kai grabbed his shirt, pulling him back.
"Where the hell do you think you're going?" His voice was low, threatening without saying anything aggressive, and that sort of calm that made the clear threat dangling in the air so much worse.
"T-to fight and get money for the clan?" A hand hit him around the back of the head, leaving a large red mark.
"You do NOT do this, Arrian. Now go home you idiot, we're not going to let you bring shame onto the family by getting into an arena fight. If you lose, imagine the embarrassment." Of course, with that said, his trajectory was clear to anyone who had the slightest sense of the irony of fate. Sometimes god just loved to screw with people, and it truly seemed that Kaiten was slowly becoming god's favorite toy.

Shibirin heard a voice, two voices in fact. He didn't see anyone enter, though after turning to fce the main entrance of the arena, he finally saw figure. 'I thought i heard two voices?' Shibirin thought to himself, quickly doging the thought as he now approached the lone figure.

He got a bit closer, and as he saw more and more of the figure, he began to suspect who this person was. He didn't want to jump into conclusions and give out his name in a friendly introduction as of yet, for he didn't even know why this guy was down here, though the same could be said for Shibirin aswell. He thought about attacking the guy, then thought, 'He may be stronger than me, for all i know this could be one of the Tsuchikage's spies checking to see if i wasn't a spy for Suna, not that i am'. In the end, Shibirin's kind nature got the better of him, as he now made his way closer to the guy, so much that he could almost touch the man. "Hello there" he said to the guy, not wanting to reveal so much as his own name as of yet.

As he got his subordinate back from the arena, he heard a voice call out to him from behind. A simple, rather kind, voice that came from the other member of the arena. That wasn't good, if they made it clear that they were talking and socializing inside the arena then it would inevitably result in them having to fight whether he wanted to or not. He had absolutely zero interest in getting into a fight today, but perhaps he didn't have a choice in this. Still, if he had even the slightest of chances of getting out of this without getting into an unnecessary fight, he sure as hell was going to give it a try. Not like he had anything to lose. Trying to slip back out of the arena, he was irritated to find that the crowd was too thick to get back into now and he was all but trapped. Well, that was just ruddy fantastic wasn't it. Before he could tell someone to move, a bar went down between the arena and the crowd to protect the crowd from the match. He couldn't help but think that if this fight went nasty they were not going to be protected by a bar. They'd need a chakra barrier, and they sure as hell didn't have that. The man who had just been pulled out of the arena turned and looked at Kaiten with slight vindication. For all that Kaiten had said about not getting into a fight, he had gone and done it anyway. The stupid hypocrite was about to get what he deserved.

Turning around, he glared at the other boy in the arena under his hood, before sighing and slipping his cloak off. He didn't like wearing it anyway, not like it suited him. He'd only done it to avoid getting any attention, and now that that little hope was dashed against the cruel rocks of irony, it seemed that there was no point trying to hide anymore. His brown hair cascaded down as he removed his hood, his brown eyes glimmering under the unnatural light. He looked, for all the world, a normal man. Well, he did until he slipped the whole cloak off, revealing his long, bandaged arm. It looked like he was already injured, or rather would if it wasn't for the fact that the bandage was bone dry. Not that it really mattered one way or another, whatever the result of this he was not going to remove it. He was not going to show his identity whatever the cost.
"Hello to yourself." Kai spoke back, feigning politeness and nicety as if this was more than just one great pain in his ass.
"I guess that that means we're going to be the ones fighting in this round, eh?" he faked a small smile, making it seem perfectly natural. If he could try and manipulate this guy, he'd be all the easier to beat.

The crowd was wild. Shibrin could hear cheers, boos and he could a few random items being thrown from seat to seat, row to row and person to person. There were people selling dumplins and people selling peanuts. Was this all real, or did this stranger know how to use Genjutsu at a high level? After being hit by a water bottle on the head, that had been thrown by some random person in the crowd, Shibirin was convinced this was all real. He put aside his personal thoughts and directed his attention towards the other guy, who now took off his hood.

"Hello to yourself. I guess that that means we're going to be the ones fighting in this round, eh?" he heard the guy say. Shibirin could tell by the excitement of the crowd, that they wanted to see a fight. "I bet 300ryo the brown haired one can kick the white haired guy's ass!" Shibirin heard a guy from the crowd call out. "Nah man, i bet 400 your guy will go home in a stretcher!" shouted another. Apparently, somehow Shibirin and this stranger were goign to be the crowd's entertainment, but not in a good way. Shibirin had to agree with the other guy: if there was one way they were going to get out of here with their dignity and body parts still intact, it was by fighting each other and giving the crowd what they wanted.

Shibirin gazed towards the entrance. he saw two bodyguards, both looked fairly strong and damn scary. He then looked above, over towards the top row seats. He saw three more exits, also guarded by two guards each. There was literally no other way to get out of here alive, without giving these people the fight they wanted to see. Shibirin had never met this guy before in his life, so he had no idea how he would fight in a battle. The only rule, it seemed, was that they couldn't kill each other, apart from that, anything else goes. "I see. I don't know how else we'll be able to get out of here, so let's just give 'em the fight they want. What do you say?" he spoke, making sure the other guy was also aware of the situation. He didn't want to fight the guy, so thankfully, it wasn't going to be a personal fight. That's the last thing Shibirin needs right now: an enemy.

The entire crowd was getting riled up, yelling at the arena. Cheering, booing and all going wild. It looked like this was true entertainment for those idiots. This was going to get awkward wasn't it. It wasn't very hard to hear the people taking bets. Someone said he was going home in a stretcher, although the joke was on him. He had never lost a match before, and if this was the first time, he sure as hell was not going out on a stretcher just to make sure that he didn't give that smug asshole any satisfaction. Then he saw something surprising. His subordinate grabbed the person who'd bet against him and said simply
"You idiot, don't you know who that is? That's Kaiten Uranai Ryokosha, the head of the Uranai clan! My master's never lost a match, and he won't this time either. One thousand ryo on his victory!" The crowd seemed to grow quiet, and Kaiten facepalmed, slamming his palm into his forehead as if trying to give himself amnesia and forget the stupidity of that action. They weren't exactly popular, and that bet was pretty damn high.

The clan was hated in most places in the country, seen as nomads and evil sorcerers. Many jounin saw it as their duty to make clan members' lives as miserable as possible, through abuse, insults and many worse things besides. If there was a single day where they got through it without being attacked, they were unspeakably lucky. However, in the arena like this, the dark underworld of the village, something changed. They no longer saw the clan as freaks and thieves, or maybe they did and they just didn't care. It was technically illegal to fight here anyway, so who were they to care if one of the fighters led a clan of crooks? After a few moments of silence, a new uproar cried out
"500 ryo on the king of thieves!"
"750 ryo on a death!"
"1000 ryo on the Uranai kid getting his ass beaten!" He was shocked, almost in awe of what was going on... They knew, and they didn't care. Hell, it actually seemed like they were supporting him. He couldn't let them down now, and if they wanted him to win so badly that was what he was going to have to do.

"Seems that way," he said, smiling honestly for the first time in a very long while. It was rare that something legitimately managed to make him happy nowadays. ", so why don't you go first, Suna ninja!" He said, knowing that this was a gamble. If he was right, then the man would likely be confused as to how he knew and would have his weaknesses bared by confusion. If he was wrong... well, he'd look like an idiot, and that was something he could do without any help thank you very much.

Shibirin saw another figure, standing next to his opponent. Shibirin hadn't seen him come in with the guy, maybe he was hiding behind him, or something. The kid sure was over protective about this guy, enough to even call him the head of the Uranai clan. Though Shibirin was the head of the Genko, he didn't go around blabering it out to any given stranger that chose to challenge him in hopes that he'll get more respect, it just wasn't him. Shibirin was proud of his clan, but he was more proud of his own achivements than those his father or brothers had done in the past. He prefered to use words to persuade, not intimedate. He prefered to use action for self defence, not to deliberately harm an innocent soul. He knew in this world, he may have been the only guy to feel this way, but it was who he was.

The guy didn't seem to be all that happy about his friend's little comment and Shibirin could understand that. If Shibirin had a follower, he wouldn't want him or her to say things they shouldn't, expescially in an arena full of criminals, strangers and other shinobi. He couldn't help notice that the guy had addressed Shibirin as a Suna nin: now either Dengen spilled the information to his villagers about Shibirin's origin, or this guy was psychic. He wanted to burst out and ask the guy where he had gotten that information, but what would be the point? If he knows, he knows, he can't ask the guy to forget about it. He wasn't wearing his Suna head band anyway, he never wore a headband. Maybe it was his clothes that gave him away.

Shibirin then heard someone from the crowd address the guy as the king of thieves. What this meant to Shibirin, he didn't know. He wasn't sure whether that name was used to make fun of the guy, or if it was to honor him, but quite frankly, Shibirin couldn't care less. He didn't take street titles into concideration when he judged how strong a foe was, he just looked at his village rank and ninja rank. That was enough information for him to decide whether or not his foe was strong or not. This guy seemed to enjoy the idea of fighting: he was completely putting aside the fact that it wasn't a personal fight, though Shibirin would surely re-touch on that fact once the fight was finished.

"Hmm, funny how you know my origin, but i guess you have your own way of finding out information" Shibirin said to the guy. He then took this chance to take a few steps back: one of his persona; rules when fighting was that you can't start a fight whilst closer than 3 meters with the guy, it's a complete give-away for a surprise attack. He then took hold of his Noro katana's grip and drew it out using the reverse hand grip, but as soon as it had come out of its sheath, he switched to the proper, one handed grip with his right hand. He looked once more at the guy, then said, "It'd be my hounor to start first, i hope you're ready though" but soon broke into a charge towards the guy, without even giving him a second to answer back.

He had his blade held down his right side. His left hand was free of items, so he'd be able to switch from kenjutsu to ninjutsu in no time. He knew charging towards the guy might leave him open for a surprise attack, so he wasn't focused on attacking the guy at all. He simply wanted to test him, to see what tricks he had up his sleeves. To do that, he'd continuously attack the guy, but won't really put much effort in the attacks, incase he needed to dodge HIS counter-attacks quickly. This was turning out to be an interesting fight, only the sheer power of each of the ninja will determine who would come out a winner and who would come out a loser. The fight, was on!

The man was willing to start first, that was good. There was something about fighting that people never seemed to realize. Yes, if you start first and the attack hits you're instantly at an advantage but if it doesn't then your enemy is at a much larger advantage as you're beginning to tire yourself out. The wonderful thing about Kai was just how good he was at making sure things didn't actually hit. Not like a ghost, nor like madara himself, it was more based around extreme flexibility and being very, very agile. Of course, he was also glad to feel superior as the man took his position with only one sword out to begin with. Wait, he was only using one sword? But, he had three... wait, who in god's name used three? You only have two hands... well, NORMAL people only have two hands.... Okay, this guy only had two hands. Chakra-caused bodily mutations were really weird. His thoughts were distracted when he realized that, whilst he was thinking, he had been attacked. The man was charging, but instead of waiting to be hit, he charged back, like a giant game of chicken. However, as the man went for a strike, he threw himself forwards and down, rolling under the blade in a forward roll finishing it by getting back to his feet on the other side of the man. He wasn't going to be able to fight like this, he was going to be completely overwhelmed without his weapon. Now he just had to summon his blade.

His hands flew into the signs of the ram, the bull and the snake before brown, sticky mud started spilling out of his hand like he'd grabbed a hand into the dirt. It was filthy, but if you looked carefully at his hand nothing had gotten on it. It wasn't dirty, it was as clean as if he'd just washed it for no apparent reason. However, none of it fell on the arena floor. It stretched and elongated, growing longer and longer, before reaching it's full-length. It was as long as a katana and was slowly sharpening, or as sharp as mud could actually get. Which, truth be told, was not a lot at all. Honestly, it still looked a little pathetic, like a child making a weapon out of a stick. People in the audience raised eyebrows, and a few chuckled, before something odd happened. It set on fire.
"Burn, baby, burn." Kai said, smiling with a cruel glint in his eye as the mud blade burnt with a heavy heat, not setting anything else alight but firing up the mud, that was actually just a very unrefined form of clay, as if it was a pottery oven. It took almost a minute before it eventually died down. What had once been mud was now thick, sharp, brutal terracotta, glinting under the unnatural light of the arena. Nobody in the entire stadium was laughing now. If anything, people in the audience looked impressed, it was rare that someone would fashion their own blade with ninjutsu. Now he could fight back with equal vigor, and would be able to fight on equal terms. After all, what good is a swordsman without his sword?
"I'm sorry, I guess this means it's my turn to attack." he said, before moving off in a sprint, his sword gripped in both hands, aiming for his opponent's free hand. If he could take that out of the running, he'd be able to stop him from using Santoryu.

His attack went without hitting anything. It seemed as if time slowed down and Shibirin literally traced his opponent's movements with just his pupils moving, watching him go under and behind his attack. As soon as he exited that strange moment, his opponent had disappeared behind him. Shibirin didn't bother to turn around and chase him: instead, he stood there on the spot, doing nothing with his right hand sword held down his right side. The crowd was getting into the fight and so was Shibirin. He had no clue what rank the guy was, but a regular genin wouldn't have taken the risk of going under his blade so swiftly. Normally, Shibirin would've sliced down to stop the guy, but like his plans were, he didn't concerntrate on landing any blows, as of yet.

He heard the guy mutter something. It sounded as if he said, 'burn, baby, burn', was the guy planning to use fire on Shibirin? Shibirin couldn't just asume the guy used fire as one of his elements based on what he had said, for all he knew the guy could be messing with him. Shibirin wasn't as weak and stupid as he looked, he was much smarter than that. He could hear the guy's foot steps getting louder and louder, suggesting he was getting closer and closer. He then heard a few more steps of the guy moving and then one, slightly harder step and at this moment, Shibirin done a 90 degree pivot, clockwise and held his blade down by his right side again.

The pivot would've been quick and sleek. It left Shibirin facing inwards to the attack, as he saw the guy walk right in front of him and past to the other side. 'Is this guy even trying?' thought Shibirin, though by his current efforts, he could've asked himself the same question.

The man had had his back turned to the jutsu... so he didn't know what he was doing? That was weird, he would have assumed that any sane fighter would never keep his back turned against his enemy during a fight. Well, as annoying as that was, it did give him the upper hand in this fight. Fights were all about power, and knowledge was power. The absence of knowledge was weakness, and weakness was what would cost this man the fight. The fight wasn't over yet, even if it appeared, for the moment, like the boy had more chance of winning than Kai did. More chakra, more weaponry, and slightly more fresh. But that didn't mean that Kai was going to lose, he'd never lost before. Besides, all he'd done was dodge a singular blow, he couldn't give up now! Not when there was so much left still to be done! The audience had had faith in him, something so unbelievably rare it had actually shocked him to the core. He would make this fight his, he would bring down heat upon the arrogant head of this traitorous tosser. Turning on the ball of his foot like a ballerina, he turned quickly. Unfortunately, it cut off his ability to move quickly so he was going to have to fight properly. No longer was he going to charge, throw himself fruitlessly at the enemy. He had proven that he could just easily dodge that and there was no point in going out of his way to let this man just dodge everything. If he did, he'd end up like an overspent battery within twenty minutes. That wasn't going to be fun for anyone, so he made a decision. He was going to fight properly.

Slowly advancing towards his opponent, one foot in front of the other as was the way in kendo, he quickly moved towards the opponent. It was fast, although not as fast as full on charging, whilst still remaining in control, his hands still wrapped fully around the staff of his sword. He let out a quick cry, as he had been taught by his teachers, before launching a swipe at the boy's head. Out in the stands, the audience were slowly getting bored. Nothing had happened since the forging of the blade, and that alone was a D-rank technique. It was a flashy move, very beautiful and artistic, but not very violent. They had come to this arena to see blood being spilled, not to see two kids playing who can be the most pretentious. It wasn't even like they were building suspense, they just kept dodging. Where was the excitement in that? there was no suspense, no thrill, just a pair of kids fighting one another.
"get on with it" a voice yelled from the audience, before a female one came from the other side
"Yes, get on with it!" Then, as if one giant entity the entire audience cried out
"GET ON WITH IT!!"

The crowd was getting bored, and frankly, just this once Shibirin was fighting to impress someone else other than himself. For once he was being a moron and letting peer preasure get the better of him, but that's exactly what he wanted. He let the peer preasure in and waited for it to disolve. He blocked out the nasty comments, for the next time he opened his ears to hear the crowd's comments, they'll be chanting his name out. Well, they don't know his name, so they might just chant, 'The guy with the white hair rocks!' or something like that. Shibirin wasn't going to use his strongest jutsu yet, no, that required perfect timing, for if he used it a second too late or a second too soon, the advantages would all quickly roll down towards this guy's corner.

Shibirin was done playing games, it was time to use the big boy stuff. Firstly, he dodged the guy's swith towards his head, then quickly pounced backwards, about 10 meters from where he had been standing before. He quickly thought up which jutsus to use, then decided to use any that would make the biggest scar on this guy. Firstly, he performed the Boar, Rat then Sheep handsings, and within two seconds, the area his opponent was standing on (5m by 5m around the guy) turned into a mud as deep as 2 meters. The mud was so low in density, that anything that was on top of the targeted area heavier than a pebble, would sink in almost instantly. The move wasn't completely unavoidable, but it did make it extra hard for lower ranks than the user to escape or even forsee the jutsu happening.

Shibirin remained firmly at his position, for he could use the Jutsu from a maximum range of 10 meters. He was certain the ninja would fall in, it was nearly impossible for him to avoid sinking. Part two of his technique can only be done once the first step was ready.

The man had dodged... great. That seemed to be everything that this man was going to do. Unknowingly, he jinxed himself, causing fate to just start laughing and demanding that something bad happen. So, maybe it was time for him to use a technique that he was going to be comfortable with. Dropping one hand of the grip, he moved his hand to his pocket to pull out a card, his hand moving into the hanging man section. After the last time that he had been stuck having to choose it without seeing which card, he had made little segregated areas for each type of card. However, as the earth around him started turning into mud, he was a little shocked. So, the kid was actually going to be doing something? Well, good on him! Now this fight could get interesting.

He knew now that he couldn't just use the hanging man. He hadn't had enough experience with that yet, it wasn't strong enough. So, there was one other option. His hands, not yet under the surface, flew into a basic handsign, and a few words were mouthed under his breath. Then, he disappeared, his cloak reappearing in his place. the earth hardened and the jutsu was rendered useless. All he could do now was electrocute a cloak. A stupid, flimsy cloak that had no known benefit to it. Still, that technique... it would have been dangerous if he hadn't had the cloak. If he hadn't thrown it off, if he'd decided to wear it... he didn't want to imagine what would have happened to his body. It was not a pretty thought, and likely involved a LOT of broken bones. Someone who could manage a technique like this deserved respect, if only a little bit of it.
"Hey, kid, what's your name?" he asked, legitimately interested for once. This guy had fought with much the same tactics as he had, and they seemed to be pretty evenly matched. Although, he had already excerted himself in making the blade, and the tentacles weren't cheap either. He was getting drained pretty quickly.

Things were finally moving quick enough for the crowd to get interested in it. Cheers were made, and they roared with either happiness or laughter when they saw the bunshin no jutsu. It was such an easy basic trick, and the man must have used a lot of energy with that ground liquidification technique. This was turning out to be a real battle of the partners, but now that the cloak was out of play, there would be no other way for him to get out of a move like that. So, he improvised. Running towards the wall of the arena, he put chakra to his feet and began to climb the wall, before standing on it. This wasn't the ground, it was made of wood, and unless the man either had katon or was a senju, the wood was not a friend. Wood was evil

Shibirin raised a brow: the guy had to use the most basic of all ninjutsu, Kawarimi no jutsu, the body switching technique, out of all the things he could do, he chose that jutsu? Shibirin couldn't say it was a poor choice, after all it had gotten him him out of his near-impossible trap, so as far as Shibirin knew it, it was a good choice.

Shibirin was forced to cancel the jutsu, before even getting to the electrocuting part. 'Way to ruin the fun, dude' was the onlly thing going on in his mind, until he heard the guy speak. He had now addressed Shibirin as a 'kid', did he know who he was messing with? Shibirin didn't mean to brag, but he was far more skilled than a 'kid' and far too old to be called that too. One more year and he'd be an adult. Shibirin decided to put that behind him, like he had been dong throughout the entire fight. He didn't want to start fights with people, so if him being the better man and saying the polite things would get the job done, he had no excuse to do anything else but.

After the guy had jumped up on top of the arena wall, Shibirin thought for second he was about to run away. He then dropped that theory in his mind when the guy asked for his name. "Shibirin" he replied, not making an effort to ask for the guy's name as well. Shibirin wanted this battle to be finnished, though he wasn't too sure that them talking to each other half way through the fight was going to get the crowd cheering.

Time had gone past and the fight had ended in a bitter draw. Shibirin had been determined that he could beat this guy, which he could, if the guy hadn’t stopped the fight in fear that he may get killed. The crowd couldn’t decide who was the winner, so they decided to allow both of the two boys the freedom to leave the arena. Some guy from the crowd had come up to the two and told them that fight was a draw; though Shibirin was sure the advantage was towards him. He was the kind of man who liked to compromise, instead of arguing, so he accepted the call from the crowd and shook the guy’s hand. After that, Shibirin made his way outside the arena, all of his katana now sheathed by his left hip, not a single one missing. He thought about the fight, as he walked back home: he had found another way that his victims could escape the electronic compound jutsu and that was by preparing the Kawarimi no Jutsu before the jutsu and then switching places with the object just before the second part of the jutsu takes place. Shibirin had no way to improve this jutsu so that he could avoid that escape, but he was sure a lot of people would forget to even prepare the jutsu before the fight even began.

He got home that day, tired and exhausted. He went into the village apartments and up towards his room. He went in and closed the door behind him: he did this every day when he came in to sleep in the apartment. He then made his way over to his bed, took off all his katana and sweeped them under his bed. He then took off his shoes, swept them also under the bed then sat down on the bed. He took out a pen and paper from the small bedside desk’s top drawer and began to write, ’Electronic Compound jutsu. Improved effects: zero. Newly found ways of escaping: Kawarimi no jutsu. Ways to improve: N/A’. He then placed the piece of paper and pen back into the drawer and put himself to sleep.
