Binsu

Today was it: today was the day Binsu would first travel to the village hidden in the Rock. He had heard lots of different rumours about the place, many seemed false, but rumours none the less. Binsu had heard that the previous Kage, before the current one, had once been attempted by an assassin of the hidden mist. These rumours didn’t say much about Iwagakure, other than that it was the most targeted village, all thanks to their previous leader, Dengen. Binsu didn’t often listen to rumours when he judged a thing, but judging a brand new village he had never visited before wasn’t always as easy without a story behind the village to follow up on. Binsu put aside his thoughts about the village, and dedicated his attention on packing everything he felt he might need for the trip. He packed a few sets of clothing for the trip, as well as a comb for tidying up his hair and a mirror too. He also packed toothpaste, a tooth brush and three towels to use when he was bathing. Once he had finished packing, he took his bag with him and made his way out the apartment, not forgetting his sword, Hakujona and most importantly, not forgetting to lock the door on his way out.

Binsu hadn’t really thought about leaving Kumo before, he hated the idea of having to go off to another village and having to adjust to that new environment. Luckily enough, Binsu wasn’t going to Iwa to stay. He was merely there to take part in this, Shinobi Tournament his friend Nudeln had mentioned to him before, at the Sky Night Club. Binsu had told Nudeln to meet up with him at the village gates today, at 12:00am. At the moment, it was 11:47am, Binsu wanted to leave early so they’d get to Iwa early enough to meet all the villagers there and maybe make some new friends. Binsu arrived at the village gates and decided to wait for Nudeln. He wasn’t convinced that Nudeln was the type to bail out on him and go ahead and leave to Iwagakure without Binsu. As much times as the thought came up in Binsu’s mind, he just simply pushed the thought aside and hoped that Nudeln was still on his way. After all, Binsu had only left 15 minutes earlier than what he and Nudeln had planned.

Nulden charged quickly towards Binsu like a small child who just saw an older sibling. He had arrived just minutes after Binsu did, and was psyched. This was going to be the trip that changed his entire life for the far better. Kumogakure was a beautiful place, but it lacked the type of action Nulden needed to stay entertained. He loved the village that had taken him in as a child and made him a shinobi, but he would also love to go and see the village hidden in the rocks. There would be rocks! Rocks can be fun sometimes.

He started to jump up and down as he followed Binsu. He loved how somebody was considering him a friend instead of asking him where he had stolen his head band from. Binsu seemed like a fun enough person to be around too. He looked intimidating but so do steep cliffs, and Nulden has found those to be very nice to him in the past. Binsu would probably be like a steep cliff, scary but very nice. The only problem Nulden could figure with this plan was that he was going to look so very short standing next to Binsu as they walked all the way to the village hidden in the stones. Maybe there would be more midgets in Iwagakure? It was not likely.

There would also be the tournament. That was the reason they were going to such a far away village from Kumogakure. There would be people of all sorts of ranks and all sorts of villages there. That birdy said so and in Nulden’s limited experience with event planning pigeons they did not seem to be over dishonest about anything. This one definitely wouldn’t be. It was too pretty to be dishonest. Nulden couldn’t help but wonder who was going to help the little birdy decorate for the event.

Then Nulden started to worry about the people. What if they didn’t like him? What if he was too short and he got sent home because they thought he was a child? What if his burn marks made them feel sick to their stomachs? The most important question was a simple, how could these things be avoided? The answer was simple enough. When you enter the home of strangers you always bring some type of gift. He would bring cake. But how would he carry all of the pastries he could make in a single jutsu all the way to Iwagakure? In the middle of thinking that question he found the answer. He looked up and grinned at Binsu. “Do you like cakes and pies and stuff?”

It had been nearly half an hour, ever since Binsu arrived from his house he had been sitting down by the village gates the whole time whilst he waited for his friend Nudeln to arrive. A few minutes later, Binsu saw a small figure from the distance, getting larger and larger. He suspected that it was the figure of Nudeln, making his way towards Binsu and once he had arrived, Binsu was sure it was Nudeln. He smiled at the boy and picked himself up from his sitting position. He then started walking away from Kumogakure and soon found himself making his way towards the village hidden in the rock. Binsu wasn’t the patient type of guy, so when Nudeln asked him if he liked pies and cakes, he replied saying, ”Yeah, I like cherry pies and sweet cakes the most,” trying to answer as much of the nin’s questions before he could ask any more. When he had gotten the chance to speak, he said to the guy, ”Hey, wanna pick up the pace a bit?”. Binsu knew the kid might deny his offer, but either way, he was going to start running instead of walking, mainly to preserve all the time that he could.

Nulden giggled and crouched low before answering. He got so low that his palms were on the dirt, and his chin was almost level with them. He then looked up at Binsu with only his eyes, not moving his head a single degree, with a challenge in his eyes. “I suppose that I might be able to,” he declared, “Would you like to try and catch up with me?” At that Nulden kicked hard off of the ground and shot forward like a dart. As soon as he hit the ground he bounced right back off of it again. This wasn’t running as much as it was a long chain of forward leaps, all getting pretty good distance.

Nulden started to laugh harder after he was a few leaps in and turned around in the middle of one of those leaps. He pushed hard on the ground with his heals and the friction made him bounce a little before he stopped, almost knocking him to the ground. He then raised his hand and began to exert chakra over the air above both of their heads. Above Nulden’s head appeared a sweet cake. Above Binsu’s there was a cherry pie. They were balanced on plates made of bread. Nulden then started walking off in the direction of Iwagakure quickly, but swaying his body strangely to keep the cake topside. As he ran he declared boldly, “I bet that you can’t keep this on your head and get their first!”

It would seem that Binsu’s challenge had been accepted, with terms and conditions of course. The guy had suggested they balance plates made of bread, above their heads whilst they raced each other towards the hidden rock village. Binsu usually didn’t like giving strangers from other side’s the impression that he was goofy and didn’t take life seriously, but he couldn’t resist accepting the kid’s challenge. Surely the ninjas of Iwagakure would think of him as childish and immature, but that would just give Shibirin the challenge of changing their minds in the tournament. Once they saw how serious Binsu was when it came to combat, they’d reject the thought of him ever being goofy.

Nonetheless, Binsu accepted the challenge, as he felt the guy would expect him to. He didn’t know if holding your plate down firmly on your head so it wouldn’t fall was cheating, but he did it anyways. Another secret as to how Binsu was planning on winning the race, was taking it to the trees. He hated the idea of wasting his energy trying to push all his weight across the ground against the pull of gravity and the disturbance of friction, so he decided that racing the guys whilst in the trees was a better way to preserve his energy, as their finish line was quite a long way from them. It didn’t take the two long, before they arrived at the hidden rock village, but as Binsu had feared: the kid had won the race.

Nulden charged forward in what looked almost like a dance. He was kicking off the ground and landing in odd position to keep himself constantly in the right position. He got to Iwa just before Binsu, and his head pastry only ever even wobbled a few times. This would be amazing! He would get to entertain and feed a whole new audience of people! This was just so exciting from every possible angle! Maybe he could even give the birdy some food if he saw it! Life would be awesome!

He began to skip and giggle as he entered Iwagakure. The rocks it was hidden in truly were awesome. Nulden was not disappointed at all! This was rare saying as Nulden often expected it to rain gum drops. He took a deep breath and then yelled, “I brought cake!”
