“The 4th Battalion have been reporting signs of unauthorized camps on the Southern border suggesting bandits near the highway.” With a large folder and a checklist of the latest news in his left arm, Kinko blinked his eyes and without further hesitation. “Shall we deploy 12th squad of the fox scouts to investigate? They returned from a mission three days ago but reported no injuries. The troops should be capable of the mission. We can categorize it as low ranked.” His tone suggested he was becoming more comfortable in his role briefing the hero of Sunagakure. His eyes were towards her in a way that he could convey this information but without him seeming as staring. While Kinko is still new to this position, a position that was created with no set precedence, guidelines, no advice, his confidence was growing. Kinko was realizing that Izumi was much easier to talk to than some other higher ranked shinobi. However, the young Uchiha knew that she had very high expectations, he must never cross boundaries and must be prepared at all times. He was slowly getting into the role of offering suggestions but realizing the responsibility behind the plans. Shinobi have died under his watch before, and he certainly would not want them to die under Izumi’s orders. Kinko knew he had to match the intensity of Izumi if he was going to make it. She was seasoned, a true veteran.
His blonde hair swayed in the wind as eyes examined his checklist. Footsteps from the two shinobi tapped the new stone foundation of Sunagakure. The sun was rising with a light, cool, and welcoming breeze that warmed one as much as a morning cup of tea. The street was lonesome and distant from activity but serene through its nature. “Additionally, there have been no other significant movements outside the village. Patrol units are reporting positive trends on their rotation schedules. However, the newly graduated genins are reporting their training and mission schedule is too taxing. If you ask me, the genin are getting soft. However, they do not realize what they are training for. They have never been to war.” His tone exclaimed disappointment and with a shrug, he moved on. “Lastly, the Academy has requested if you could hire some more assistants. We may have to begin interviewing.” Kinko’s eyes rolled as he dreaded the interview process. They were often so formal that judgments could not be made about the personalities of individuals and everyone had similar skill sets. Kinko was hoping that Izumi would allow him to sit out of them and work on other issues. “With increasing enrollment, will come costs, like jobs.” Kinko said in a plain but annoyed manner. “Though, the Academy does help boost the economy, international recognition, and supports the culture of our village.”
His eyes looked down onto his checklist to see a highlighted, circled, and urgent message to relay to Izumi. His body jolted into a quick sense of nervousness and a gulp screaming out of his mouth. This news surely would upset Kinko, but he would wait to share the information for last. As the two continued to walk, his eyes shifted towards Izumi to see if he had been caught. Imagine being the guy to let Izumi know the Shinobi Academy of Sunagakure was ranked 4th out of the major villages.
