It took awhile, but his partner came entering his peripheral vision as Kyousuke looked over his shoulder. The stranger was black of hair and looked to be around his age if not a bit older. Already the Sasaki heir would analyze each aspect of the boy, hoping to catch hints of his abilities. He had no weapon in his person, at least not one visible. A taijutsu expert perhaps? Though he looked far too skinny to be any sort of hand to hand combat expert, still looks could be deceiving. As far as first impressions went the boy didn't impress, he mistook a village guard standing atop the large stone gates for Kyousuke. An act that made the heir place his palm atop his face in embarrassment for the other genin. He turned his entire body towards the boy, clearing his throat as he did. Hopefully that would alert him of his mistake and bring his eyes upon the actual Kyousuke and away from the likely confused guard. He'd allow Yammy a few seconds to realize if he hadn't already, and then finally he'd speak. "You ready to get going, or are you too busy shouting at guards?" He quipped, a faint smile drawn on the corner of his lips. "Sasaki Kyousuke," He introduced. "You must be Yammy." The heir turned around, gesturing for the other genin to follow him as he began walking towards the descending mountain path. He'd move at a steady pace, just enough for Yammy to catch up until Kyousuke could finish his last sentence. "Not much time for pleasantries, as I'm sure you already know. It's best we get going just in case the worst scenario plays out." Like the mission scroll had said, only odd activity had been noticed. For all he knew it could have just been an aggressive wild animal. Either way, they'd find out soon enough.
He burst into a sprint, running and jumping down the mountain path until he'd reach the bottom. He entered the atmosphere of land, his foot making contact with the soil, it was much thicker and far easier to breathe. At first he went at it full speed before realizing his partner had been left behind. From then he'd pause, allow the other to catch up and then launch himself in another burst towards the eastern shores of Kaminari no Kuni. He led the way, more confident in his abilities than that of a stranger, though he slowed himself just enough that he wouldn't be out of sight. It made easier sense as well, he was the sensory type, though that fact would be unknown to the other unless he studied his history books. The way he saw it, the other genin was simply there as back up just in case things went south. He readied his Matagi Shingan to activate at any moment just in case any bandit decided an ambush would be a smart idea.
They passed a river, dropping down its height to close the distance to the sea level. They were getting close and he wasn't stopping there. Only a thick forest separated them from their destination now, tall trees that would hide the trail of smoke they didn't know already formed in the skies. He lowered his pace once more, the forests were an easy place to get separated, so he allowed the other to trail him easier. It came at the cost of time, but he had made the right choice, something he'd realize after they exited the treeline. His eyes were drawn to the clouds, a trail of black led in the distance. That must have been it the strange activity reported. Hopefully it was nothing more than a regular house fire breaking out, but he prepared for the worst. "Let's stick together now, prepare for an ambush." He said, eyes locked to the destination. He led the way, still moving faster than the other. Though this time he would only be a few meters ahead. He had a bad feeling in his gut.
