The lost ones were the lucky ones. Unscathed. Untouched. We were not. While they were displaced through time and space, we were smashed against it.

During the temporal anomaly caused by the Ushinatta, the people who would eventually come to form the Hengoku were thrust directly into the plane of space between worlds. Both existing, and not at the same time. When they finally made land fall onto our reality they were left changed. Some suffered incredible mental or physical changes that left them crippled, but that wasn’t the worst part. When they crossed over to our plane, they weren’t here physically. While they coul see everything and could be see, no one could hear the or interact with them. They were passed off as spirits or anomalies. Until ten years, to the day.

When Hengoku Samsora was able to cross over completely.

Kekkei Genkai Description: With their exposure and and continued experimentation with their unique connection to space time. The Hengoku have developed the ability to send people into their old dimension prison, as well as manipulate the enviroment inside of the plane to a considerable degree.

Rift Plane Mechanics:

Rift Born: Hengoku gain a number of buffs to themselves and their techniques while inside of the Rift Plane. First off, while in the Rift Plane the Hengoku doesn't require any hand seals for their jutsu. Second, any supplementary jutsu they cast has their range increased by 10 meters | 5 meter radii, and can affect multiple people without a drawback.
