Chiaki had her assignment, a band of bandits had attacked a nearby village and she was needed. She gulped down her morning oolong tea and stuffed her feet into her shoes. She didn't have any ninja gear so she opted for the most mobile of her clothing. She wore a plaid yellow skirt and tight fitting collared button down shirt which was pink. Under her skirt were black leggings and as she tied her brown shoes she already started to gather her long hair. Perhaps she would have to cut it short one day, but today was not that day. The bandits wouldn't be there if she didn't hurry.
She dressed hurriedly, gave her home a once over, and nodded. The dishes would have to wait till she got home. Slamming the front door she dead-bolted it and jumped down the first three steps, taking the rest as a racehorse would, making about as much noise. One of her neighbors opened their door and shouted something incoherently as she bolted down the street, she was to meet whoever was helping her on this mission at the city gates and she didn't want to miss them. She came to a halt, already out of breath and looked around. There wasn't anyone here yet, but she knew that if she waited long enough someone would come down the street with the very same paper that she had. She tightened her forehead protector, a leaf emblazoned on it and the protective part around the back of her neck, it fit snugly like a choker as she waited in the cool morning. She wondered if perhaps she should have dressed warmer as she hopped from foot to foot trying to keep warm.
Perhaps the person was going to be late for their rendezvous or... A shudder of dread ran down her spine. Perhaps this person wasn't going to show at all. perhaps this was going to be a solo mission and they forgot to say that. She buried her nose back in the scroll reading it again. No, no no no. This couldn't be a solo mission right? She would be completely consumed by the reading, and unaware of her surroundings.
