Clan History: Ancient Osoroshī legend tells of the Jubokko and the Blood Sages of old. The Jubokko, a demonic tree which grew upon the blood enriched battlefields, stealing the souls of those that died there and enslaving their spirits to wander the land, looking for living mortals to lure back to the Jubokko to satisfy it's never ending hunger. The Jubokko is an elusive tale of half truths and nightmares, meant to hunt the minds of children and intrigue the occasional shinobi, but thankfully the Jubokko hasn't been seen in centuries.
The Blood Sages on the other hand were very real, and were said to be those that would go to the Jubokko willingly, allowing it to consume their blood to the point of near death, before then drinking the tainted blood of the tree itself. This foul ritual is said to have given the Blood Sages their strange powers. Regardless of where they learned them, their ability to infect their own blood and use it as a weapon was legendary and feared for it's gruesome and effective use in war.
Because of the twisted methods of the Blood Sages, and the fear they caused among those they encountered on the battlefield, they were hunted down and killed off, until there were no more. As with all things, time turned truth into legend, before turning yet again into myth, and the Jubokko and the powers it could grant were forgotten to all but the Osoroshī.
Born to a slain Blood Sage and unbeknownst to those that would have killed such a child, a young shinobi named Osen would later go on to found the Osoroshī clan. Forbidden from displaying their strange powers for fear of being hunted down yet again. It wasn't until the formation of Kirigakure in Mizu no Kuni that the Osoroshī clan found peace from their fears.
Still forced to hide behind the masks of the AMBU, the Osoroshī is not a recognized clan within Kirigakure in the way most of the other clans are. All of the clans members are recruited into the ANBU, and their KKG has remained a secret of the Hidden Mist village since it's founding. This means that few even among the Hidden Mist village would recognize the symbol of the Osoroshī Clan, and those among the more powerful and famous clans of the village would overlook a member of the Osoroshī Clan as if they were clanless.
Without the Jubokko to grant them the legendary powers of the Blood Sages, the Osoroshī clan became little more than Hunter-nin and assassins for their village, their strange abilities, and reluctance to use them, have only pushed them deeper and deeper into the shadows, with many members of the clan choosing not to have children in the hopes of ending their own bloodline.
To an extant this practice was successful, though it was discovered by a shinobi named Kirura that she was able to transfer her blood manipulation abilities to others by letting them drink her blood, much in the same fashion as the first Blood Sages were able to drink of the Jubokko. It is unknown who, if anyone, Kirura managed to grant use of her powers too, or if they survived.

Kekkei Genkai Name: Rotten Blood - Kusatta Chi (腐った 血液)
Kekkei Genkai Description: Members of the Osoroshī clan are able to infuse their blood with chakra, utilizing this so called Rotten Blood, or Kusatta Chi, for various purposes. From debilitating attacks with their own blood via Medical Ninjutsu, or tattooing themselves with Blood Seals with Fūinjutsu, members of this clan are only really limited to their imagination and the amount of blood they have at their disposal.
Kusatta Chi techniques are able to be used with any type of blood, including the blood of others, but it must first be infused with the chakra of the individual using the jutsu and it must be removed from the other person's body before being infused with chakra or used via Kusatta Chi in any way. Blood used by Kusatta Chi jutsu must come from within the Osoroshī clansmen's body, or have been spilt in combat or collected via other means.
Due to the nature of the Osoroshī Clan being able to infuse chakra with their blood, members are naturally more resistant to poisons, causing all poisons to function at one less rank against them. In effect, this means that SS Rank poisons cannot kill them outright, and C Rank poisons have no effect. The delay before a given poison begins to take effect is also doubled. This resistance is also apparent against poison jutsu, causing it to function at one rank lower against members of the Osoroshī Clan.
As an advanced form of Water Release, Kusatta Chi techniques posses all the same properties of Water Release Jutsu, including the elemental weaknesses and strengths.
Drawbacks: Whenever Kusatta Chi techniques are activated, the user has some sort of change to their physical appearance. Fingernails turn red, veins bulge, their blood can turn black, or they might involuntarily cry blood as well. There is no way to hide these characteristics, and elemental clone techniques will not imitate them either. This makes it easier to distinguish clones from the real person if they use a Kusatta Chi technique.
Due to the nature of Kusatta Chi techniques utilizing the ninja's blood, if hit with an offensive Raiton attack, any active use of a Kusatta Chi technique will be interrupted and initiate cooldown, and the Kusatta Chi user will be unable to utilize their Kusatta Chi techniques for up to three posts. The number of posts is based on rank, with E-Rank Raiton attacks being negligible.
D-C Rank: 1 Post
B-A Rank: 2 Posts
S-SS Rank: 3 Posts
The Special Characteristic listed below is required, and may not be used to balance out Positive Special Characteristics
