Makoto was finally able to take a break from all the madness that had occurred during this time of need. He began to think of everything he had witnessed on that day to the time he hid in the sand as the skies turned black and a large disaster fell from the sky, an epic testament to the gods of jutsu as he would have a few sleepless nights in the future because of this event.
In his time here he had seen massive explosions of white and many other colors, from people who could explode you with their fists, to others who could command an army of unusual bugs that seemed to consume your life force or energy as he was not really able to confirm their abilities. With how that boy managed to make the bugs come together to form arrows as well as burrowing underground as he felt he would need to improve his defensive abilities to be far greater then what they were before. He had to ascend to new heights as he also had a short encounter with the loud mouthed Satoru of Konoha who gave away his name and identity to a complete stranger without a second thought. He felt this was a rather dangerous thing to do since they were taught at the academy to not just introduce themselves to strangers, unless they were partners on a mission. Even then you had to always be careful as Makoto had no clan giving out his name posed no threat at all for him as he began to wonder how things had gone.
Makoto also tried to form an orb with his water chakra, but he kept failing. He did not understand what it was that he was doing wrong, he did not want to admit that he did not have what it takes. Makoto was stubborn and refused to let go of his dream as he remembered the giant meteor in the sky that was far larger and more powerful. A jutsu so powerful it turned the skies black and made animals run in fear for their lives. Makoto did not understand why he had no talent to begin with, he still wished for talent in the future. He worked as hard as he could, training in the sand, training in the rivers and training all across the land. Makoto graduated at the bottom of his academy, but even that still meant that he was at least within the passing group since other academy students actually failed to pass.
Makoto did not want to let go of the hope he had deep down inside as he at times felt like this was the end. He had hit this impassable wall that he just could not get passed as he tried as best he could, he simply could not take that step needed to reach closer to his path. He knew he would have to study hard once he got home to Iwagakure, he did not know how to feel about all these things as Makoto did not understand emotions themselves. He later would proceed to drink some nice tea as he found it a bit horrible at first, but tea was good for you and he felt staying in this place had made him feel a bit sick. He hoped there would be a moment where he could simply sit down and relax while having something to eat with a friend.
He was busy resting after that, when something unexpected happened. Was the war not coming to an end, did things have to keep going on the way they were going. As he was sitting peacefully when a loud explosion occurred in the encampment. He was fortunately not in the location of the blast but he heard screams and a few bodies flew from the point of impact. Makoto wondered if they were under siege as he went to assist a few members with an escape as he felt this was too dangerous. However there were always those stubborn men who would run into the battlefield regardless.
The men who got hit did not seem to go down from that attack so easily even with lacerations as he began to wonder how strong willed these men were as several of them charged on towards the direction from which the attack came. Makoto assisted the fallen men who thanked him before flexing their pride and running back into the battle. Roughly two or three of the men had died in the impact zone as he felt glad he was not sitting on the front end of the base or he could have shared their fate. He helped out as well as he could though what looked like several men seemed to be even more then that as the numbers were probably closer to thirty or maybe even forty or more. Though some seemed to stay back as if to defend the main base itself, but even so this was far too many people just for a simple attack like this. Then again they were not shinobi, they were just really strong military men who were no match for the might of jutsu.
However the other question was how many were there as Makoto created a single water clone and sent it to observe from a distance while he stayed further back waiting for a relay of the information. The water clone could not quite see, though it was no joke what the water clone would eventually witness would strike fear and excitement in his small beating heart.
