Ability/Function: Takao’s augmented ANBU mask is equipped with a filtered rebreather that allows the wearer to breath in hostile environments, such as underwater, for up to 5 posts. This rebreather also does not prevent the user from utilizing breath based techniques.

For an additional 10 chakra per technique, the mask augments any breath based technique, and doubles the effective size of the projectile created. It does not enhance the damage, speed, or total range of the technique. This also increases the cool down of the technique by 2 posts.

Appearance: The A-ANBU-M is a full face helmet made with a heavily tinted and structurally reinforced visor that fully hides the user’s face, but allows the user to see out of the helmet’s visor relatively unhindered themselves, provided they are not in a very low-light environment where the slight tint on their side would further darken their vision. The bottom of the mask is equipped with a filtered rebreather, allowing the wearer to sustain an intake of safe and breathable oxygen in environments that would otherwise be harmful. When not in use, the visor of the helmet can be collapsed and worn more comfortably around the neck.

History: Takao commissioned a more advanced alternative to his village-issues ANBU mask. He worked closely to have it developed in a manner that was most beneficial to his method of fighting, and to augment his kekkei genkai whilst also providing supplementary usage for covert operations. Takao lent some of his chakra to the creation of the item, infusing it with the same immunity to his fire as he himself possesses.

This allows the user to see chakra in the atmosphere, chakra being moulded through the atmosphere, chakra being moulded within or around another being, and so on. Additionally, it allows the wearer to see through external illusions up to S-Rank.

General Protection: While the mask does not offer defense in the typical sense of protecting the user's body from physical impact, the mask is capable of defending the user from blinding and deafening effects up to S-Rank.
