Lynn Uchiha

Lynn Uchiha

D-rank
Mission Briefing:

As with any normal day for the young, green haired Uchiha, after a hearty breakfast of egg stir fry, Lynn found himself walking into the Administration Building to receive some mission information via braille. There were quite a few choices he could have picked from - including a mission he had done around a tenday go, where various Shinobi were ordered to set cameras up around the ruins of Kumogakure - but the quickest one he could feasibly do today that would not interfere with a planned training round he had thought of the night before was spreading the news of the Chuunin Exams through detailed flyers. It was odd to him that such an influx of people could not know what it was, but regardless, he saw the potential of taking such a route. From there he would go to the officer whom approved missions, turned in his credentials, and head off with a stack of fifty vividly colored flyers, of which he currently could not comprehend.

Since he had his unfortunate condition to attend with, he figured he should split the work into two categories for complete success; twenty-five of these pamphlets he would post around the village, in varying locations of importance and availability, such as near the bars and restaurants - while the remaining twenty-five he would simply hand out at the front gate, where visitors were most likely to be new and not already have the information at hand. Conceding to his temperamental arguing against no one but himself that this was the best course of action, Lynn set out to accomplish this easy task, taking off to the direction of the bars first. While perhaps not the best place for children, who were more likely to not know of the exams, they were still hotspots within the community. His next location was going to be at the school grounds, while the last would be at where most of the shops were.

Making his way towards the first speakeasy, the futility of what he was doing plagued his thoughts. Why were such arguably degrading missions given to the likes of Genin? As much as they were supposed to be green, even children in the Academy could handle such effortless tasks with the same results as he. It was true that, unlike most D-Ranked missions, this was more important, for the betterment of the village and knowledge of foreigners, but it did not satisfy the boy's hunger for espionage. In truth, this is what Lynn felt to be his calling - gathering information, moving in and out of disclosed locations without a trace, living in the shadows and striking fear into his enemy by merely existing - so that is what he'd rather do than post up pieces of paper about events he honestly cared little for. Lynn conceded in his first exhibition match on purpose just so he wouldn't have to bother fighting for the right to become Chuunin just for the simple fact he held no interest in failing to please a crowd of people who would never remember his name after the fact...or worse, scrutinize him for not sweeping the entirety of the exams with flawless colors. In the end, he did what he did just so he would be seen as useful; conceding like he did, rather than showing cowardice, had shown he was confident on whether or not he could win in a fight, and knowing when to give in. He actually could have won, but taking a direct hit was something he couldn't do without being disqualified immediately. Before he knew it, despite all of these conflictions, five flyers had already been spread between three different locations, his scowl disappearing when he realized his body had been moving on its own. Disturbed by his own instinct, he jumped on top of one of the rooftops and lept his way towards the school grounds, shaking off his brooding for the time being.

Once the campus had been reached, he swiftly slapped around fifteen of the remaining twenty of his stack of flyers upon the school and its innards. Ten of them would go onto the wall surrounding the school, in a symmetrical, neat fashion, while the rest were posted on various cork boards in the school itself, including one in the faculty room, which he decided to sneak into just for fun. With that, only five of his assigned half was left, which would be use to decorate a few of his favorite restaurants and shops, including one that held the freshest milk in the Village - a beverage he would surely kill for if he had to; and an arms dealer he planned on visiting soon to obtain a new blade, for his own had grown rusty and dull from too much usage.

Since Lynn was rarely a talker, the rest of his day went by in a matter of minutes within his mind, the last twenty-five flyers being handed out to and received by the many visitors he met throughout the day. All he focused on were his own musings, and getting this odd job done so he could go home. Somehow, this made time pass quickly for him, with the sun beginning to set as the last flyer was handed over. With a sigh of relief, he rushed off to the Administration Building to record his success, and gather his due payment. He would be eating well tonight.
