She remained silent and still until she was sure Raijin had fallen asleep, which had been about thirty some minutes ago if what she was observing was true. There was a few parts of sleep that you could not fake, unless of course, you were a medical specialist. Three of these things were physical and could be spotted and easily picked out by a careful observer: one, once most people hit the second stage of sleep, your muscles begin to relax. You could try to sleep as stiffly as a board of wood, but, once you go past stage two, you began to relax; second, your breathing became slower during stage three, with a longer pause between exhaling and inhaling of another breath. The third, you had to be touching someone, or listening to their pulse. Heart rate slowed during second stage sleep.
Of course the only things Himi would judge sleep by was breathing and how much someone moved, and seeing that Himi had tried to wake Raijin from sleep beforehand, she knew that once he passed out he had the conscious moving ability of a rock. She sat up, unfolded her legs and got off the bed to sit on one the the meditation mats on the floor in front of said bed.
Meditation was good for someone. Helped keep a person from getting cranky, angry, envious and sad over issues and situations in their life. She straightened her back out, inhaled deeply aaaaaaand exhale. She repeated this process for at least an hour. It helped, and actually comforted her, to just clear her mind and feel her energy, her place in the physical world. She was beginning to sink into herself. Trying to relax and connect with her own feelings.
And time sure does fly. Only someone with a watch could've told her how long she had been sitting there in complete silence, the only noises were her near inaudible, and Raijin's slightly louder inhales and exhales of air. Too bad tranquillity didn't last forever. A sound so terrible happened. It was loud, startling and it sounded like the temple was going to collapse. Cue Himitsu's near phonophobia? Why yes of course. As soon as the sound began to reach her ears she shuddered, jumping in her own skin. Her entire body tensed when she jumped up, making it feel like she was going to leave her outer-layer behind. In less than a second she was was off the floor and on the bed, under the covers hiding next to Raijin, clinging to his forearm like the end was near. Yes. She was indeed shaking and whimpering in fear. The thoughts running through her head were, 'I'm going to die here. Everything is going to collapse and my body will never be found and-' even her own mind was beginning to babble off into incoherence.
