Nozomi and the other competitors looked across the expanse in front of them. There had been no instructions, but the objective was clear: Get to the other side. As one of them approached the edge of the chasm, umbrellas popped up from the depths, raising in a staggered fashion, making almost a staircase. It was clear that there was some sort of trick to this. Nozomi could only assume that there would something bad with some of the umbrellas that would pull the person down. It didn't really matter all that much. She wasn't going to be playing that game. The only question would be, how would she make it up there?

For now, she was going to observe what the other competitors tried, to see what would happen. A few others had the same idea, but most tried to make it up without stopping. Nobody made it. It was obvious that some of them were real umbrellas and would allow only a moment's notice before they dropped. Some of them failed just there, and couldn't jump in time, falling to their doom. The others that were fast enough to make the jump to other umbrellas continued on up until the real snag showed up, revealing the true danger of the course. Nozomi knew it wasn't so simple as just jumping up to the top, and she'd been correct.

The Yokai was cleverly disguised as an umbrella, and grabbed onto the foot of the person trying to jump off of it. Startled by the sudden appearance of the beast, the first to fall cried out, failing to launch towards the next umbrella. He fell to the depths as the umbrella dragged him down with them. Only a few short moments later, the rest who had attempted to do the same also fell, and then it was down to the few who had stayed behind to simply observe the actions, and the vast expanse in front of them. The observation done, it was time to move out with the knowledge they'd gained. Nozomi, however, wasn't going to even bother with the umbrellas, finding it far simpler to just go up on her own means.

Nozomi crouched down and leapt as high and far forward as she could, letting herself reach the top of her arc before she activated her Petal Platform. A small platform appeared under her, giving her a small purchase to leap from, allowing her an effective double jump. She'd been doing the whole umbrella platform jump for a long time now, and so this was really simple for her to do. Upon reaching the peak of her second jump, Nozomi had already built up chakra inside herself for another jutsu, using the Petal Propulsion to launch herself even higher up, closer to the edge of the other side.

She completed the arc once again, reaching the limits of the propulsion, and then built up more chakra inside her. She wasn't going to touch the umbrellas even once, and wouldn't even risk being dragged back down to the bottom of this pit. She refused to give herself a chance to lose. The chakra inside her swirled around, and she was blasted forward in a spiral, and she used up all four of the Spiral Lotus Dashes that she had available to her, and she'd almost made it to the end. She had actually managed to rise up farther than she needed to, and was only a little bit farther than she needed to be, but she felt herself starting to arc back down.

Her arc brought back down, and she fell just short of her destination, and reached out as far as she could, catching the edge of the ledge just barely. Her body jerked as gravity fought to keep her moving down, but she was able to hold on just barely. Reaching up with her other hand, Nozomi grabbed on fully, and started to pull herself up. Looking behind her, some of the others had made it up fairly far, and were approaching the end goal. A smile was given to them as she pulled herself up onto the ledge. There would certainly be some people who finished this course, and that was good enough for her. She wanted a good challenge in the future, and the more who could complete the courses, the better challenge she had.

Walking to the goal post, Nozomi tapped it, and she was transported back to another area, where she was handed her tickets for winning. With that done, she went on her way to continue to her fourth challenge. Hopefully the next would be more fun, as she had yet to truly be pushed. But maybe these were just fodder to people like her, and the championships would be the real fun.
