Objective: To clean the shop and help fix anything.

Mission description: The local shop has been needing a good clean, it is your job to go there and clean up there mess. When you finish report to the owner.
Mission details: What they do not tell you is that the store is in horrible condition and they basically threw you this mission because you were a genin. You may choose the type of store you wish to clean and whether or not you need an NPC. Has to be done during the day when normal store hours are open. They also did not tell you why it is so trashed, you can make up any reason.

Kiriya was just finishing helping his mother with the garden when the mission letter came. He was expecting it, for the past three days nobody had called him for a mission. As soon as he finished the chores around the garden he ripped open the letter. This was Kiriya’s eight mission. By now he should have learned that D rank mission don’t contain any interesting tasks. But somehow he had high hopes for this one, it was probably due to the delay between this and the last mission he did. When he read the mission details he realized how wrong he had been for this.

The mission was simple enough. His main task was to help the tea shop owner and to clean the shop itself. That was odd, Kiriya knew personally the shop owner and nothing interesting ever happened there. He would go there and buy his mother different tea every week or so.

Kiriya had to get up early tomorrow, not earlier than usual. After cleaning up the garden, he had breakfast with his mother and went for a quick shower. After that he quickly got to bed. He woke up two hours before the mission start. There was enough time for a casual run around the village. After doing that Kiriya changed into his mission uniform and started walking to the rendezvous point.

The tea shop was located in the middle of the market district. Kiriya arrived there fifteen minutes earlier. He sat on a bench close to the shop, waiting for the shop owner to appear. Not long after that he saw the old, gray-haired man and went to talk to him. The shop owner was quite surprised that exactly Kiriya was here today. After exchanging a few sentences he opened up the shop.

Kiriya saw the inside of it, he was astonished. The place was basically unrecognizable, despite Kiriya being a regular customer. Everything was turned upside down. There was a lot of cleaning that needed to be done but before that Kiriya was curious about what had happened and asked the owner.

“What exactly happened here, it looks like someone was trying to trash it. The other logical explanation was that thieves were trying to steal something.”

“To be honest I don’t even know what happened here. When I came here yesterday morning the front door was busted and it was like this. Couldn’t clean it myself so I asked in the Raikage’s office for some help. I’m very happy that they sent you.”

As their conversation came to a stop followed by awkward silence Kiriya started cleaning up. The shop was nothing alike what he was used to. The shelves that various tea sorts were standing on were on the ground, half broken. Some of them could be renovated but the majority of them had to be thrown away. On the other hand, the shop wasn’t very spacious, Kiriya estimated that it would take them around three or four hours to clean to whole place up. As he was cleaning the shop owner called someone to come and change the lock on the front door. The previous one was completely busted.

While Kiriya was cleaning the floor he started thinking about what could have happened there. Everything in the shop was pointing toward a break-in. But who would want to steal from a tea shop? It wasn’t one of the highly paying businesses in the village. The logical conclusion was either that some vandals trashed the place without any motif to do so or there were thieves with a hidden agenda.

“Do you have any idea who could have done this? Do you know someone that wants to do you harm?” Kiriya didn’t think that the answer would help.

“I try to stay out of trouble. There are the usual thugs around here at night but nothing too serious. Maybe one or two of them had some drinks and decided to take it out on my store.”

To be honest, Kiriya had come to the same conclusion. Nevertheless, he wasn’t there to speculate about what could have happened. His job was to help clean the tea store. He decided not to bother his mind with the matter.

After around five hours the shop was looking better than ever. Everything was on the place it should have been and there was no evidence the shop being trashed.

Kiriya talked some more with the owner, said goodbye and left. He took the longer route to his home, which was around the whole village. It was just getting dark and the red clouds painted a beautiful scene in the sky.

On his way home he couldn’t stop thinking about the crimes in the village. In the past few months there were some serious cases of the bandits attacking people and causing trouble around the village. Something had to be done. There was some sort of police squad around the village but it was relatively small. It couldn’t handle all the thugs in the area. But at the end of the day Kiriya was only a genin and he couldn’t do anything about the matter.
